The sorta players you are signing now is unreal compared to the ones you were stuck with at the start of the season! looks like your going to progress on last years finish again
The Adalberto deal is a bit of a shock because his price is so low compared to what I was originally quoted a year ago. But Karim Sassi isn't. I scouted him over five years ago and went head to head unsuccessfully (surprise surprise) with Barcelona. But he's been sitting there since then doing nothing because he hasn't been able to break into their first team. €5,500,000 is cheap for a player of his calibre, but for a player who never plays it really isn't that much. His face value at the time was €6,000,000
As for where I'm finding them, I have enough scouts roaming the world, repping my brand, getting the word out. These are only the players I do sign, I'm sure you can appreciate how many hundreds I go through before I get the ones I think will be worth it.
Semi-final draw of the French cup. Nancy Lorraine are a newly promoted side so if we beat them we'll have a final against a Ligue 2 side. With that and our Coupe de la Ligue final coming up this could be a very interesting season. I'll be unavailable in a few hours until tomorrow so we'll see how far I can go in ~1hr.
Incredible, incredible season. Most potent attack, fourth stingiest defence. Karim Sassi's arrival was instrumental in this, as was Adalberto's ascension to starter. I've already confirmed Sassi's transfer, it's too great an opportunity to pass up. Two cups in one season eleven years after we were in the sixth French division, truly remarkable.
This is how big time we are, I'm now finally talking to a commercial director. Speaking of Kulikov, I've rejected two offers from PSG and Barcelona for him. I managed to negotiate both up to €40,000,000 before they pulled out. I'm not fussed, he's so young and so fucking good:
Great work Max. Kulikov looks a right player and at 23 I'm sure he can still get better. You'll get that €40m in no time
Oh no, I already have had it, twice from Barcelona and PSG, but I rejected them. He's tied down until 2029 on a very good (for me) wage. I'm just in two minds over what I would sell him for.... maybe €55,000,000. I mean he sells more shirts than anyone else.
Only one actual signing this season (Cesarini is a guy who has played with me since the beginning and I just like to have him around). Bilbao is the long term replacement for Assad. Yes Assad has been our best player the last two years but he'll be 30 this season and at his age his attributes drop rapidly. Bilbao is our record signing but as you can see he's fucking outstanding and although expensive i should definitely get my money's worth. He's just come back from a knee tendonitis but that shouldn't stunt his growth.
As for this season? Who knows, let's shoot for the fucking moon.
After talks with Shedender we have decided this has been moved to the Hall of Fame, congratulations Fantastic, well deserved. Please feel free to continue the story if you wish.
Well written FM stories don't come around everyday; too many just list up a bunch of results and have zero personality in their writing.
You on the other hand have a loads of personality, and I like the no-nonsense style
This brings back memories to my first meeting with the series, CM 97/98, were I had part of my focus on the French league, managing 3 sides (...) at the same time, one of them being Toulon! (the other two was Laval, and Auxerre; it actually pains me seeing AJA sinking so low in your story )
Anyways before I bore you all to death here: my point being; great read!
Keep it coming
Fantastic
