Locked him down to a new 2 1/2 year deal. His old one expired in 2016 so this new one does two things. First it keeps him at the club longer (duh), but second it should give his potential value a boost because club's consider contract length when making offers. Stade Reims came back with a €450k offer, which I rejected, so I don't think my €1.5m valuation is too unrealistic Obviously that would include a sell on fee for us as well.

We are the chosen people. I live the mention of the reserve team, only because we don't have one.

Going into the winter break we find ourselves sitting pretty in second place. There are thirteen games left and I'm feeling good. Pau FC are a team we've beaten before, that alone instills me we with confidence. More than that though I want to win this fucking thing because I need to extend my wage budget. Right now I can't re-sign any of the players I want to keep because their reasonable wage demands can not be covered by my broken wage budget.



The board wants to see player sales to satisfy the club's deficit, but realistically that is only going to temporarily plug the gap. New owners are needed, they need to bring in better sponsorship to match the club's rise, expand the stadium and clear the current debts. As it stands the team are just bailing out water while sitting under a waterfall.

All business, all the time. It was pretty much a lock after that Pau victory, but it's still nice to see this team being so competitive despite our financial limitations. Speaking of which, there's going to be so major questions asked of me in the off-season.



I'm already operating well over my budget and have a number of key players whose contracts expire at the end of the season. I've done my best to try to retain most but big time boys like Savic... I'm simply unable to offer them even money equal to what I'm paying them now. This is bad news, because we're coming off the back of our third consecutive promotion, we're entering the National division which is only two away from Ligue 1. I need every ounce of quality I can get and as it stands I'm going to be buttfucked by our diabolical financial situation. I'm not an idiot, this is my fault, but I've taken this club so far and despite being inconsiderate to the club's finances I think the success outweighs the implications.

With that said, I'm very worried that I'm going to lose some big players and not be able to bring in even players who are capable of sustaining the impetus we have. My eyes are peeled for the next budget re-evaluation, if we can't lock down a €20,000pw budget then I'm going to be shit out of luck. I'll keep you posted, but it doesn't look good.

As it stands this is who I'm losing. That might not seem like much, but Meunier, Savic and Mariotti comprise three of my four starting defenders. That's a heavy, heavy fucking loss. With no guarantee I'll be able to offer competitive wages to replace them I'm seriously going to have to work out a plan to see how I can move the team forward without fucking up our progress. Bad times on the Cote d'Azur.

That's pretty big time. Christophe Tall is leading the club with 14 goals in 17 games. It's going to be a sad time when he leaves, but there's no way we'd be in second place without his transfer money.

I'm feeling pretty good. The league is tight, but we're going into games and I'm finding myself getting annoyed purely by missing sitters. That's a good position to be in. If we can get into Ligue 2 then we can really start to revamp the squad and start building. If we don't go up we've got maybe half a season of cash left over and then it'll be back to square one and then I'll have hit the bottle hard. Or my wife, if I had one.

I'm internationally renowned for hating domestic cups. They waste time cause injuries and lead nowhere unless you're a top flight club. With that said, you have to play them until you lose (and I've been known to throw cup games) so any time you beat a team two divisions above you it's cause for celebration.

Now all that exuberance is out of the way I can go back to my day job, dominating green rectangles.

This is big time. I put all my cash on the line, and I won. I won big. Next season this shit French club is going to be in Ligue 2. All of this is thanks to Christophe Tall. His sale allowed us to swell the ranks with quality, not to mention he absolutely dominated the league from start to finish.



Look at the motherfucker. He's glorious and he would have been a fucking monster at the next level. With that said he's got a bright future at Bordeaux. I keep forgetting, he's 17, he made his debut for the club at age 14.

The real trick now is finding someone to replace him. I need 20 goals a season and it's going to be difficult to replace him. Long summer, but unlike last season there's opportunity in the air.

2017/18















This season the board thinks a mid-table finish would be our lowest expectation. And you know what... I agree with them. The step up from the National to Ligue 2 is a bit of a leap and there are some decent teams in there that we can not match. My job is, through a war of attrition, to build a side that can get us to the next step. I think players like Costa and Ramos are definitely of the calibre I need, as is Assad. However our defence needs work and I think I need to do some scouting to find a big time player who can be at the club for a while. It's early days, the bullshit of the lower leagues is done, now it's time to get professional and start becoming a wrecking crew.

That striker looks decent, stupid name though so you should probably sell him.
