Happy New Year! It was a good turn of the year too, back in my home country of England it made a change to spend the New year here, seeing the fireworks and that surrounding London, then it was back to business in the league, trying to pick back up from our first defeat which we ended 2021 with.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kPjBdsucjIk2zkSqJNr8Ngeva9As6Fyy5pSTsbS2.png

It proved to be a busy start to the new calender year, with us facing seven games, in the league we picked up another defeat but genuinely played okay whilst we did crash out the FA Trophy after a replay.

We began the New Year with a home game, welcoming Bath who we beat comfortably three one. We were behind inside twenty minutes but level at the break thanks to Lewis. We then took control second half with Connor and Lynn both netting for us.

Improving away from home, we travelled to Hayes & Yeading and picked up a four one win. Connor and Cestor netting within a minute of each other, seeing us two nil up in nine minutes, Sheppard then netted two in thirteen minutes seeing us four nil up inside half an hour. We conceded one in the second half.

FA Trophy time and it was time we crashed out. The Second Round saw us welcome Solihull Moors who grabbed a three all draw at our place. Sheppard netted twice and Lewis found the net but a replay was forced. In the Replay we travelled there, Connor gave us the lead however come full time we were level and in extra time we slipped away, conceding twice and crashing out a round before the Third Round which the board expected us to reach.

We went on to welcome Margate and narrowly claimed a win. We trailed at the break but turned it round with goals from Lynn and Connor.

A trip to Dover saw us face our heaviest league defeat to date, losing out four nil, we were more then poor here!

We'd end the month on a high note though, beating Gloucester and keeping a clean sheet as we ran away three nil winners. Goddard and Connor netted first half goals and Walden netted half an hour from the end to secure the win.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7xiKIijPd9VohxfJ2eJQhoZapCTPlujbcXYOL1t9.png

We've now moved sixteen points clear at the top of the table and a game in hand! With only fourteen league games to go we can now only finish down in twentieth, if that happened I would resign anyway. However I don't think it will be long until we secure promotion and the league title, the first trophy in England is almost here.

Into February, the month of love, and I was hoping that this would be the month that it all came together. We weren't far from securing the title it felt let alone a playoff spot for certain! Now we were out the FA Trophy we had just the league to focus on.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/OcXjznErfn1pLKoES2EYrPwymt1mn5Ckv77bcsjk.png

What a superb month! And what a way to end the month, we faced five games in total throughout February, all in the league, winning four and drawing the penultimate game.

We began the month away at Wealdstone where we kept our first of two clean sheets this month, winning three nil. Kaine Sheppard netted a superb brace with Joey Jones also on target.

Next up was a trip to Weston-Super-Mare who we beat three one. Lewis, Sheppard and Goddard were all on target for us in the first half before we conceded in the second half.

Our first home game of the month saw us face Havant & Waterlooville who we narrowly beat one nil thanks to Keiran Murtagh netting after nine minutes.

The only game we didn't win this month was the trip to Eastleigh who we grabbed a two all draw with. We came back from behind twice here with Lynn first levelling the scores for us and then Clarke in the second half!

Then we ended the month with my biggest win here at Woking, winning seven two over Tonbridge! We were absolutely superb here and destroyed them at home! Kaine Sheppard was the lethal striker once again, netting four of our seven goals whilst Lynn struck twice and Jay Connor also grabbed a goal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/T2suAz1BPeo4WL2pkVQCfmyIFRgr4AZepJXd8QXH.png

We are now just eleven games short of the end of the season and to be honest, the title seems to be all but ours. We sit a more than comfortable twenty three points clear at the top over second place Margate and then third place Hendon are twenty six points behind but those two are heavy a great season it would seem!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xxwzoCvnMy91nNDBcYwuZ51sD7UdzQvaOsb1UPtY.png

I've now picked up my third monthly award of this season and of this whole career, its fair to say life in England is treating me pretty well!

Woking FC - March 2022

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

The penultimate month of the league season was here, we were into the playoffs, that was confirmed, now it was time to try and secure promotion and the league title over this month. March was a quiet month, with the season drawing in, we faced just four league games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ML1SqHS2mxERaSyg3aiyCdOdWQJzYji6RU7D1f4s.png

A promising start to the month however it did end up filtering away with the final game of the month but not a big issue, three wins and a defeat, another twelve goals scored however a few too many conceded in eight.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/TI4HOVzM4DBzAqzao9XVvZivEbQGORvL2GgiW2qU.png

The league title and promotion is confirmed! The first step to the top! or somewhere near that! A good four two victory over Hendon secured our fate as Sheppard netted a hatrick and Goddard also found the target.

A two one win over Hampton & Richmond saw us continue the good season, we started well with Connor netting however just after the break it was level. We stole the game with Mcnerey netting with five minutes to go.

Hemel Hempstead welcomed us and we dished out another four goals in this four one victory. Despite going behind early we thought back, Sheppard and Goddard putting us two one up at the break as Connor netted two in the second half.

We finished March with a heavy four two defeat, losing out to Kingstonian, a bit of a shock. Our goals came from Sheppard and Lewis.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/H6vczlnrbH5gCGGTLYWfIkQCiZYxnXuvM9lIU1eB.png

There it is! The big 'C' that confirms we are promoted to the Conference Premier as champions! We've now scored over one hundred goals and are nearing one hundred points as we sit twenty seven points clear at the top of the pile!

The league title was secured last month, the playoff was secured the month before, promotion to the next tier was ours and now as we went into the final month of the season it was all but time to call it a day for the summer. But first we needed to try and end the season on a high note, its been superb so far.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7f2RFM3Ueajl74DcvTUnjasQQnVo5LQmIxr6p2in.png

Yes! What a final run in we had, we went on to pick up fifteen points from a possible fifteen games and whilst we didn't keep a clean sheet in the final five games, we performed well and scored plenty.

First up, a trip to Maidstone who we dispatched four two, Sheppard took his brilliant form into the final month of the season as he netted a hatrick in five minutes! Whilst Connor netted our fourth and final goal before the break.

We then bettered ourselves as we welcomed Dorchester and smashed them five two. Sheppard again had a brace, netting two in fifteen minutes. Walden also netted in the first half whilst Connor and Lynn both score second half.

Back away from home we travelled to Boreham Wood who we beat two one. Both of our goals came from our inform striker Kaine Sheppard, netting either side of the break.

We had back to back two one wins as we faced our final home game of the season, welcoming St. Albans as we came back from behind and won via an own goal. We trailed at the break but McNerney levelled for us and an own goal secured the win.

We ended the season with a trip to Staines who we beat three one. Again we trailed at the break but came back strongly. Second half Walden levelled for us, Connor shortly followed it up to put us infront before Sheppard finished his and our season with a goal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7PTQSrN0ukRzHTkF3l9jhlUFhRacqCQTAfj7UVHZ.png

There it is, what a season it turned out to be! We clinched the league title with one hundred and seven points, picking up thirty four wins from forty two league games whilst losing just three in the league all season. Along the way we scored the most, netting one hundred and twenty five goals whilst conceding the second least which pleased me.

http://i.imgur.com/a0hMcFI.png?1

Special mention to English striker, twenty eight year old Kaine Sheppard. He joined us in the summer and I was looking at him as more of a back up playing the squad. However he had different ideas, forcing his way into the squad and performing well, regularly! In the end he score forty two goals in forty one games in all competitions.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z81jtYFjcHrrhj0jUaAHAmeJxeXPDUZRePu0vFwm.png

Didn't know if I would get this funded with a club so low in the footballing ladder, but I will be heading on my Continental B License now!

Woking FC - Pre Season Round Up 2022

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

The summer has been and it ended up being one of the busiest summers I think I've faced since the start of this career! With plenty, and I mean, plenty of transfers in and out of the club this summer, we also saw plenty of friendlies on the pitch as we tried to strengthen for the season ahead and meet the board and media' expectations.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pX6oavL08kndwVPiuJt8nabEcMQKjFUEAJ1Anzya.png

After the board told me they expected a playoff finish at least, I have now had the pressure upped on me with the media claiming our team are one of the favorites for the title this year. It wouldn't surprise me, the way we walked the league title last year but its still a step up in the divisions!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Et73N7efeiZ7sxT4P1Vyk0Ugw1BFyiFaxW1wlVLu.png

A lot of players were gone this summer, to make sure we had the room to add more 'quality' to the side and hopefully strengthen it for the new campaign. We didn't make any money on players leaving, I didn't feel we could. We ended up seeing nine players leave the club on free transfers, just one went to a club, Scott Furlon joined AFC Flyde.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uN2VeaouTgVPc2h24ygMKvKYjdP3RknJbyf9f0ab.png

And this is what has joined this summer, I told you it was a busy one! In total fifteen players have joined the squad this summer, three on a year loan deals whilst the other twelve are on permanent deals. I am most delighted at landing striker Jay Connor from Portsmouth and goalkeeper Jemal Clarke from Spurs, both on free transfers after they were both on loan with us last year. We have taken a couple on loan this year. *If you wish to see a player just ask and I'll add him in my reply to you next post.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GFlpysorGeWFJV5RTWme4S0BEKZmV3nKiQ1XH1hg.png

We have a big squad, infact, we have twenty five players signed on to our main squad this year around, which I'm delighted with as it allows us to rotate plenty in a league which we are expected to bode well in. Plenty of quality among the squad and I hope it can deliver this season. *If you wish to see a player just ask and I'll add him in my reply to you next post.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ivfD7OlSJNEcH2MHF9175dANebOb6BmT9cK3ryXA.png

We played a mixture of 'strength' teams in the summer, some that tested us and some that were straight forward. Its a good summer though as we won six of the nine games we played, losing two and drawing the one remaining game. We also managed to keep four clean sheets which is pleasing.

Woking FC - August 2022

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

After a busy summer, big board expectations and plenty of new faces in the squad, you'd forgive us for starting slowly to life in a new division. However what was about to come up this month would even surprise me. We were expected to enter August in the Conference Premier with seven games to be played in twenty four days.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/yTQe2Vkc4JvVQD1q7W9SMCZritNQKJ3ej89pCsft.png

Well! Did you see that coming because I certainly didn't! I know the board wanted us to be in the playoffs and the media tipped us to win the league, but I still didn't expect this. Not only did we go unbeaten in our first seven games of the season, but we also score an amazing twenty eight goals!

The month and season began against Morecambe, the side along with us tipped to win the league. We absolutely dominated from start to finish as Sheppard started the season how he finished the last one, netting a hatrick whilst permanent signing Connor also sealed a hatrick.

Our first home game of the season saw us welcomed Bromley and we hit six for a second time in as many games this season. We trailed two nil at the break surprisingly. But came back superbly as Lewis, Fitzpatrick, Lynn and Goddard all netted one and McNerney netted a brace securing the win.

The only game we didn't win this month saw us draw three a piece away at Macclesfield. Connor gave us the lead, we threw it away three times though as Sheppard put us ahead twice as well as he grabbed a brace.

We then went back on a winning run. Beating Wycombe two one. Sheppard netted from a spot kick and Mensally making it two nil before the break. We conceded a second half strike but held the win.

A five one win at home against Wrexham continue our assault on the league title. Once again we were superb and so was our front two. Connor netted twice again with an own goal, Sheppard and Clarke all finding the net for us.

Two away games to end the opening month, we demolished Boreham Wood four one. Sheppard netting after just twenty minutes with Lewis and Connor both scoring before the break to. We conceded after the break but Lewis grabbed a second after the break, securing the four one win.

We'd end the month with a two one victory over AFC Wimbledon. Sheppard netted his ninth goal in seven games this season as well as notching his fiftieth for the club here after just two minutes. Connor continued his good pairing up top with him by also getting a goal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/S4gmogVNjBDcDUjVb64gVJGQJOXhK0dygyfVTRF5.png

Well, not only are we on top of the pile after the opening seven league games, but we've already got a little bit of breathing space as we move three points clear of second place Braintree. We need to try and keep up this early form and build the points gap up as we did last season. We are scoring for fun however do have a little leaky defence.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pCOn1ujSF9VXvtQ1YDDi7kEO3VwRHJ4m2uiqDdVK.png

Icing on the cake! This will do nicely, the first in this division and many more to come hopefully! This is a step in the right direction, I forgot to mention over pre season I rejected three job offers, Lincoln, Leyton Orient and Boreham Woods. A rising reputation.

What a superb start to the league season it was last month, despite my doubts on the board and media expectations we had got off to a flyer and now sitting top of the the Conference. We go into September trying to maintain our good form and our league position if possible.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5RABg92tujmhF0fVSYo5b3rX1dmqePnYDMedkxdf.png

Another six league games in September, another six we've gone unbeaten. Despite drawing twice this month we still managed to pick up four more wins along with those two one all draws. Also managed two clean sheets.

We first drew with Forest Green away from home claiming a one all draw late on. Despite trailing at the break we grabbed apoint nine minutes from time.

Our first of four home games on the bounce saw us win four three over Ebbsfleet, we almost blew it though. We led three nil in eight minutes as Lewis netted twice and Sheppard grabbed one. We were four two up at the break as Connor netted before we conceded a third in the second half.

Another draw came as we welcomed Tamworth and drew one all for the second time in three games. Lynn netted our goal, ten minutes into the second half but we blew it late on.

The goals continued to rain in as we beat Halifax five three. Sheppard once again in superb form as he went on to net a hatrick whilst Connor also netted and O'Conor grabbed a goal to. Despite the defence being a little leaky it was a good performance.

Two clean sheets followed, we first beat Sutton United two nil with first half goals from Connor and Sheppard.

Then we ended the month with a trip to AFC Telford who we stuffed five nil, confidence was high. Sheppard netted first, an own goal followed and Connor scored before the break. Goals from Fitzpatrick and O'conor second half secured the win.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vStO5zNxSKautaZIEiFsfMq1MOznuqXYeP2ZzvJ6.png

Thirteen games played in the league this season, ten won and three drawn, seeing us remain unbeaten and now open up a six point gap over second place Aldershot who we open October up against. We've started superbly however Aldershot are hot on our tails so we need to continnue as we are.

Woking FC - October 2022

Two months into the new season and we were not only top of the table but unbeaten and it was almost de ja vu with last season however I can say this month seemed to change a little bit, I can't be too disappointed as we still played well and picked up points.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hHBM7P5mwDFHoip24Sck9tYWQLXYiFC2QmvRyLDq.png

So, only one victory in the league this month but at the same time, just one defeat in the league and in fairness, we haven't done too badly with six games in the space of twenty seven days.

We opened October with a trip to second place Aldershot and claimed a one all draw. We drew first blood, Lewis netting after two minutes before we conceded in the second half.

Our first defeat of the season would be at home as Northampton sent us to a three two defeat. Our goals came from..yes, Kaine Sheppard who levelled twice but it wasn't to be our game.

We ended up going three without a win as Chester went on to grab a point from us at home in a two all draw. Sheppard put us ahead but Chester netted either side of the break. We grabbed a point when Kay netted an own goal four minutes from time.

Our first win of the month came with a trip to Braintree, winning two one. We were two nil up at the break thanks to McNerney and Goddard before almost blowing it in the second half.

We began our FA Cup run with a trip to lower league side Bromley as we came back from behind at half time to win three one. Barrett netted our first with Lynn netting two late goals, securing the win.

The month would end with a nil nil draw away at Dartford. Boring game, boring result.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2yv9ctweihR7FCJ05qDj5PWGCweBu6Pi5R91vKDZ.png
