Decent start, as I've already said the Scottish leagues don't vary in quality till the championship so definitely see back to back promos coming

It's a promising start considering we're predicted to finish ninth in the league and it's always important to get points on the board quite early. Still don't think we'll get back to back promotions, even if you think we will.


After a promising start to the league season, the side entered the second full month of the campaign with five games all in League 1 awaiting us as we looked to continue our fine start, three of the games were on the road and just two were at our Broadwood home.


It was a trip to fellow promoted side Arbroath that began September and we secured a 2-1 victory at Gayfield, much to my delight as an own goal from Kevin Nicoll sealed maximum points while central midfielder Kris Faulds scored our other goal.

Three days later we welcomed Brechin to our Broadwood venue as we secured a two one win as we once again needed a late winner to secure the points, Scott Ferguson scored our first goal on the quarter hour before Scott McManus struck the winner in the first minute of second half stoppage time.

A home game with Stenhousemuir was next, the game ended 0-0, nothing happened, next.

For the third time in four games the side needed to find a winning goal inside the final ten minutes to secure a third win from four games as we came from behind to win 2-1 at Ayr as they took the lead on six minutes but Scott McManus equalised from the spot on twenty two minutes and then striker Kyle Bailey fired home his first goal with eight minutes left.

The month ended with a trip to Airdrie as we suffered our second league defeat of the campaign, crashing three two as Scott Ferguson scored both of our goals.


We are top of the table after eight league games but the league (early doors) is very tight as we are also ten points clear of Stranraer who are currently propping up the league so a terrible run of form will put us straight back into danger but I'm hoping that doesn't happen. Pre season league favourites Dunfermline are third but only three points behind us and we have them next at Broadwood.

It has been an excellent start to life in League 1, better than what I expected, especially with the amount of signings that had been made in the close season so I'm obviously delighted. October turned out to be a short month with only three games played, one of them against league favourites Dunfermline who visit Broadwood.


It would be the game against league favourites Dunfermline that would start the month and they inflicted our third league defeat, winning three one as Scott McManus struck our only goal of the game from the spot on thirty seven minutes.

A fortnight later we welcomed Stranraer to Broadwood and trounced the ten men five one in a game that saw both Scott McManus and Brian McQueen both score penalties while McManus struck again early in the second half, the other goal scorers in the victory were Scott Ferguson and Connor Pring.

The short month ended with a trip to Stirling who we defeated five two in a game that'll be remembered by Liam McLaughlin who struck his first league goals for the club while Scott Ferguson also struck twice and Kris Faulds added the fifth goal on the road as we maintained top spot and this League 1 lark was looking good.


We remain top of the table and two points clear of Dunfermline but just think, we could've been five clear of them if we had of won the game at Broadwood but I'm still chuffed that we're sitting top with twenty five league goals to our name from the opening eleven games, not bad for a team that was predicted to finish ninth although it's still tight.


Just to continue with the 'feel good factor' around Broadwood, I have put pen to paper on a single year contract extension that'll now see my deal run until the end of May in 2020, I still had seven months remaining on my current deal but thought it would have been important to agree a new deal as soon as possible.

Under my stewardship Clyde have been outstanding at times this season and proudly sit top of the League 1 table. We entered the penultimate month of twenty eighteen with three games, two in the league while our Scottish Cup challenge began with a home tie against Championship side Livingston.


We ended up just playing the one game this month due to circumstances changing as we faced Championship side Livingston in the Scottish Cup third round as we crashed out of the competition three one. Our one and only goal came from winger Scott Ferguson after twelve minutes, we also had central defender Brian McQueen dismissed in the first half.

Livingston then struck twice in the final eight minutes to seal their passage.

So, I guess you're all wondering why only one single game was played in November? Well this is why:


Yeah, despite signing a new contract VERY recently, the Clyde chairman has decided to sack me as their manager, a decision I hope they regret because I had them flying this season before my abrupt departure. He cited 'broken promises' or some rubbish for sacking me and despite me pleading, he decided to end my reign at Broadwood, fuck him.

What an asshole he is. Will be interesting to see how they do after your departure!

Indeed he is and I doubt I'll ever consider returning to Clyde while he's the chairman unless I'm desperate andmarsru.

Did you really have to laugh at me Dan? Sure, sackings are part and parcel of football management but I didn't like the stupid 'broken promises' reason.


Following my shocked sacking from Scottish League 1 side Clyde, I was determined to continue my managerial run in a different country as their wasn't any jobs available in Scotland that were realistic, I found a job in the Republic of Ireland that ended up becoming available so I jumped straight in and hoped I'd get the post.


As soon as the job became available I 'dived' straight in and applied for the current vacancy at Tolka Park and I'd very doubt if I wasn't the outsider for the job as the Athlone Town manager also expressed interest as I'm sure many others applied for it too as it's a job that could guarantee trophies in the 'long run' if it all goes to plan.

I'm just pleased I got an interview and I'm hoping I can 'wow' them.


I've been approached by Shelbourne as I've obviously 'wowed' them in the interview and I'm expecting to have a successful spell at the club unless something drastic happens. As part of the interview I have to sign young players for the first team and develop players using the clubs youth system and that's fine.

They've only offered me a one year contract but I expect that to get extended.


This is the reason why Shelbourne sacked their manager and that's because the club have been relegated from the League of Ireland Premier Division and I'm pleased that I have been given this opportunity and I'm also only around two and a half hours from my home so that's not too bad. Next season I expect them to be at least favourites or joint favourites next season.

Cheers Jamie3, yeah he was a twat but I don't care because I have moved on. They're currently sixth in League 1 so I find that slightly humorous.


Following my arrival at Tolka Park I had time to evaluate my new squad as the twenty eighteen season had been completed as the club were relegated to the First Division so my first full season, season twenty nineteen will be spent in the second tier of League of Ireland football but that's fine because I'm sure they'd be predicted to win the league.

**For whatever reason my seasonal expectations for the twenty nineteen campaign didn't come out, unless I missed them but I don't think I did so that's quite annoying,

But we're obviously predicted to win the league and secure a first place finish and we're joint favourites in the bookmakers with University College Dublin (UCD) to secure the trophy but I expect our squad to be strong enough to secure the title as soon as possible. It's a league that only has eight teams, one of them being a reserve team so we'll end up playing each other around four times each.**


Previously the clubs assistant manager had only arranged three pre season friendlies and I sure didn't think that would have been enough so I added three more, against 'rubbish' opposition in a hope to bang a few goals in, get the team used to my style and formation and get some confidence as well ahead of what I'm expecting to be a good season for the Shels.

Just one friendly game will be at Tolka Park and that'll be against Derry City while our five other away games will see us travel to Drogheda, St. Pat's C.Y.F.C, Firhouse, Limerick and then our program will end up on February 23rd, around two weeks before the season starts with an away game against amateur side Rathcoole Boys.

The broken promises were mine (allegedly) simoncoyne, it's because I didn't give some players first team football that I had promised them - we had a huge squad for League 1 level so they were always going to happen so I suppose I need to take some of the blame and hopefully I'll learn.


So as I entered through the doors at Tolka Park just a few months ago I had to get the squad, current and new signings used to the formation that I will utilise this season and that's what the pre season friendly program will be used for, well that and fitness.


Do you think I've learned by lesson from my spell at Clyde or just their wasn't much talent available? Only three players arrived at Tolka Park ahead of my First Division season with two players coming in on loan from Premier Division side St. Pats Athletic - those players are central midfielder David Kenny and attacking midfielder Darragh Markey while Jack Wilson arrived on a free from Shamrock Rovers.

The only two 'major' departures this season saw Keith Quinn leave after his contract had expired and Eoghan Depmsey join Limerick after agreeing a pre-contract with them (it was confirmed before my arrival) while the remainder of the players who have left are rubbish, except for Lee Murtagh, he had to leave as I needed to get the wage budget out of the red.


It wasn't the best pre season I've probably had in management but the side did win four of their six friendlies, losing to both Premier Division clubs in Limerick and Derry but we did win two nil at Drogheda while we obviously defeated St. Pats C.Y.F.C, Firhouse and Rathcoole Boys in the six game program,

I now hope we're ready for what I'm expecting to be a successful season for the club.

Always enjoy seeing the comparisons between saves for yourself Shedender and Dan. It must be a bug in the game as explanation for the sacking at Clyde!? Sure maybe there may have been some broken promises but you were flying! Do you think that reputation etc for the manager would have changed that outcome? Seems to me they could have been overlooked on the back of your progress, player promises or not.

Ha, there wasn't much talent around Dan that's for sure but we also still had a strong squad so I didn't want to disrupt it too much.

It's hard to explain DP91 but they requested a board meeting a few days after the Scottish Cup defeat to Livingston stating with the 'broken promises' mumbo-jumbo, I did my best to try and get out of it but they weren't having it and said something like "I'm sorry but we're going to have to fire you", they weren't sorry lol.


March twenty nineteen would see the First Division campaign begin and I 'demanded' the team made a strong start to the league season as we're expected to win the league come the end of the campaign and I expect the same while I'm not overly fussed on the other cup competitions but they'd be nice to win. Five games were played in the opening month of the season.


A trip to Waterford would begin the competitive campaign and it was a slow start despite picking up a single goal win and keeping a clean sheet in the process, we needed to rely on a ninety third minute Sean Russell penalty to seal maximum points.

Three days later and Wexford Youth visited Tolka Park and were beaten five two as the side struck four goals home in the first half - Dylan Cashlin, Dylan Connolly, Matthew Taylor and Alan Sullivan were on target while the St Pats loanee Darragh Markey added a fifth goal on sixty six minutes.

We would then welcome Shamrock Rovers' B team to Tolka Park and made a real 'statement' by destroying the reserve team 7-1 in a game that will be remembered by left winger Dylan Cashin who bagged a hat trick while Alan O'Sullivan hit a double as well, the other goals were scored by Simon Dixon and Conor Murphy.

Our first dropped points of the season came away to Cobh Ramblers in a two all draw - Conor Murphy and Dylan Connolly on target.

The month concluded with a four one win away to Athlone Town as Alan O'Sullivan struck his first treble for the club under my reign as his three goals arrived in the second half at Lissywollen while Dylan Connolly scored our first goal on twenty five minutes.


It's been a great start to the campaign (minus that draw at Cobh) as we are sitting top of the table and three points clear of our nearest challengers Cobh Ramblers. So far we have conceded six goals which isn't alarming while we scored a staggering nineteen times in five games.


I'm not going to be doing this every month but just this month because I've won the Manager of the Month award in my 'first month' at Shelbourne Football Club and it was almost a one hundred percent record as well but thirteen points from the opening fifteen available can't be sniffed at and I'm hoping our good start continues next month.

Yep and I wouldn't have accepted anything less Dan as we probably have the strongest squad in the First Division.


It has been a great start to the season in the second tier in the Republic of Ireland but I didn't expect anything less as the league MUST be won this season or else I'm resigning through disgust. Four games were played in the second month of the season including a home clash with joint favourites U.C.D.


The month began with that game against fellow contenders U.C.D who we welcomed to Tolka Park and defeated them by four goals to nil as an early Sean Russell penalty had given us the lead before second half goals from Conor Murphy and two Alan O'Sullivan goals sealed the emphatic victory as we made a real 'statement' this season.

One week later we made the trip to Finn Harps and eased to a 5-1 victory as once again we made a blistering start as Darragh Markey scored our first goal after only five minutes - Robbie Gaul and Philip Hand added further goals in the first half before Sean Brennan and Sean Russell scored in the second half to put a gloss on the score.

A home game with Waterford United was next who we beat three two to maintain our unbeaten start to the campaign as Alan O'Sullivan bagged his second (iirc) hat trick of the league season, was disappointed to have conceded two goals though against them but we've still been solid enough defensively.

We travelled to Wexford Youths to finish the month of April as we squeezed out a 2-1 victory on the road thanks to goals from the prolific Alan O'Sullivan and St. Pat's loanee Darragh Markey.


The expected great start to the campaign continues as we find ourselves sitting nine points clear of Cobh Ramblers after nine league games in which we've won eight and drew one and that can't be 'sniffed' at. So far we have scored thirty three times and conceded just the ten so I'm pleased with both the defence and the attack, so far.

The great start to the First Division season continued last month as we racked up four wins from as many games in April as my charges opened up a nine point gap at the top of the table, just three league games were played in May but we also had our first League Cup and Senior Challenge Cup games of the season, could we progress in both?


A trip to the reserve team of Shamrock Rovers started the month as we secured a 5-2 victory as Alan O'Sullivan opened the scoring inside the opening minute, Sean Russelll converted two penalties while Sean Brennan and Dylan Connolly also got on the score sheet.

We then hosted Cobh Ramblers and defeated them four two at Tolka Park as Alan O'Sullivan netted twice in the first half while Sean Russell also added a third first half goal and the points were secured when Ryan Robinson added a fourth on eighty one minutes.

Eleven days later we hosted Bohemians in the second round of the League Cup and I expected a tough, tight contest but we demolished the Premier Division side 6-1 at Tolka Park in a game that saw us have six different goalscorers. Dylan Connolly, Sean Russell, Philip Hand, Matthew Taylor, Robbie Gaul and David Kenny all scored.

Next up was a trip to Bluebell in the Senior Challenge Cup second round as Dylan Connolly scored twice while Sean Brennan and Gareth Coughlan also managed to score in the convincing victory against the non leaguers.

The month ended with a 3-1 victory over Athlone Town at Tolka Park - Alan O'Sullivan, Sean Brennan and Dylan Cashin scoring.


It's now an eleven point gap ahead of Cobh and I'm chuffed as it's been a great season so far but I'm sure we're going to lose a few games eventually as we haven't been playing great at times, we've scored forty five goals in our opening twelve games - averaging just under four goals a game so far and long may that continue.

Sitting a remarkable eleven points clear after twelve games is quite remarkable and shouldn't be sniffed at as only Cobh to date have stopped us from winning all of our games this season, three First Division games were played in the June month along with a home League Cup second round tie against Sligo.


For the second time this season we hammered U.C.D 4-0 to start June as Dylan Connolly scored twice while Alan O'Sullivan and Gareth Coughlan added other goals, Coughlan's goal came from the penalty spot.

We then hosted Finn Harps in front of the television cameras as we secured a two one victory as for the second game running, Dylan Connolly scored twice after four and seventy five minutes, it's a shame we couldn't keep back to back clean sheets as Harps had equalised a minute after Connolly's opening goal.

Three days later we made the trip to Premier Division side Sligo Rovers who made us suffer our first competitive defeat of the season despite Adam O'Connor putting us into a dream start on two minutes, we conceded the second goal late on to suffer heartbreak because we deserved so much more.

June concluded with Wexford Youth visiting Tolka Park and we maintained our unbeaten start to the league season, winning 3-1 as all of our goals arrived in the second half - Sean Russell, Dylan Connolly and Conor Murphy found the back of the net within the final twenty three minutes.


We are now a staggering seventeen or so points clear at the top and it's now officially our league title to lose in my opinion as we're continuing to bang the goals in as we've scored fifty four times in fifteen games while my Shels side have conceded just the seventeen as the defence has been solid all season so far. Shamrock Rovers' B team are still propping up the table.

I forgot to save the screenshot but I have completed my Contiental C Licence as I'm now only two licence's away from completing my qualifications and then I can (in theory) manage whatever club I want in this career as the badges won't or shouldn't be a problem.

The twenty nineteen season is starting to hit the 'business end' as only four months were remaining and an unbeaten campaign is looking good as we've been remarkable this campaign to date and July would see us play four more league games, would our unbeaten league form continue or would we lose eventually?


We began July with a home game against the basement club and maintained our unbeaten start after winning 5-2 at Tolka Park. Dylan Connolly struck twice in the first half while Alan O'Sullivan also fired home inside the opening forty five minutes, the prolific O'Sullivan would score two more goals in the second half to seal the victory.

One week later and the side made the trip to Waterford and secured a four two victory as once again Dylan Connolly scored twice, this time in the second half while top goalscorer Alan O'Sullivan also scored twice in the 4-2 success, once again I was disappointed over conceding two goals but that can't be helped I suppose.

Our unbeaten league run ended after losing 5-4 away to Cobh Ramblers who had taken a four one lead in the game, Sean Russell had scored our goal on twenty one minutes but trailing four one at one stage in the first half I thought the contest was 'dead and buried' but Russell scored two more to complete his first half hat trick and Conor Murphy was also on target as we headed into half time with the scores level at 4-4. Cobh scored the one and only goal in the second half to condemn us to defeat.

We did bounce back though as we defeated Athlone Town 3-1 in our third consecutive away game this month - Conor Murphy (14), Alan O'Sullivan (66) and Sean Russell (75) were on target at Athlone Town Stadium as we closed in on the league title, surely it would be wrapped up within the next month despite that one league defeat.


Top of the table and sixteen points clear after nineteen league games, surely the league should be wrapped up as soon as possible as we have scored a remarkable 70 goals in the nineteen games and conceded twenty seven times, five of them coming in our one and only league defeat away to Cobh, which was frustrating.

Cheers for that Dan, I actually meant to say three but posted as I forgot about the Cont. pro licence, which is the one I obviously want the most as it gives me 'free reign' in football management.

Had to be expected though Bukinapreto, expected to win the league in an eight team league, it's been easy.


Last month a 5-4 reversal away to Cobh Ramblers meant I suffered my first league defeat of the season and second overall (the other vs. Sligo in the League Cup) and as we entered the month of August, five league games awaited us and a Senior Challenge Cup trip to Castlebar, in which I expected a 'big' victory.


My Shels charges travelled to Ballybofey to take on Finn Harps as August began with a hard fought single goal victory, Sean Russell on target with the only goal after eighteen minutes.

One week later and we suffered just our second league defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at home to U.C.D as Alan O'Sullivan scored the goal on twelve minutes at Tolka Park but the visitors won the contest but they shouldn't win the 'war' of the league.

We then made the trip to Wexford Youths for our third consecutive 'televised' game this month and we won 4-2. The prolific Alan O'Sullivan scored twice while Luke Gallagher and Darragh Markey were also on target, was disappointed to have conceded twice though, should be keeping more clean sheets than we are.

Three days later we welcomed Waterford United to Tolka Park as we eased to a 2-0 victory, Alan O'Sullivan broke the deadlock on thirty five minutes to give us a single goal half time lead before central midfielder Matthew Taylor sealed the points in the final minutes, the win also meant one important thing...


The pressure was all on us, 1/10 favourites as we made the trip to Castlebar in the third round of the Senior Challenge Cup but it proved to be no real problem as Shelbourne eased to a four goal victory - Alan O'Sullivan, Adam O'Connor, Conor Murphy and Matthew Taylor were on target as we advanced to the next round.

August ended with a 6-2 victory at home to Cobh Ramblers as Conor Murphy opened the scoring after just two minutes, but that wasn't the major talking point because we were reduced to ten men after only twelve minutes for a professional four, Cobh missed the resulting penalty and then we continued to bang them in as Alan O'Sullivan bagged another hat trick, Jordan Keegan scored his first goal of the season after a long lay-off and Murphy added his second of the game, in no order.


With the league title and trophy number one wrapped up in the Republic of Ireland, it was now time to relax and enjoy the remaining four league games, U.C.D and Cobh Ramblers are looking good to both secure the two play-off spots. We have scored eighty four goals in twenty four games and that's remarkable, conceding thirty three, which isn't bad I suppose.


The league title was won and with just four months remaining on my current deal at Tolka Park, I have put 'pen to paper' on a 1 year contract extension and I'm utterly delighted to have signed the deal that will run out at the end of December in twenty twenty, I had to approach the board over a new contract because I didn't want it to run out and be unemployed.
