Kristiansund BK: May + June 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/OBGzET3aJpUugqCiNKa7kJW0OZnBQeiQzQl4R6fP.png

It has been an exceptional start to the Adeccoligaen season with five league wins from our opening six as the side currently sit in second place, a point behind Bodo/Glimt who have played a game more while the club has also advanced to the second round of the cup. May saw us face six games and I decided to throw in June as well as just one game was played, making it seven in total.

Could my charges maintain the start to the campaign or would it be a distant memory?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/UsS1zbUSWrJWAkG4ILecMCSdLyFyqLeucsDM3fJ8.jpg

May would kick off with a trip to Hodd as we'd record a hard fought three one win to maintain our good run - Sverre Okland, Aziz Idris and Jean Alassane Mendy were the goal scorers in the victory.

Our Cupen Cup hopes were dashed following this second round defeat away to Brumunddal who defeated us four three as goals from Henrik Rolland, Daouda Bamba who was in for the suspended Jean Alassane Mendy and left back Eriend Sivertsen who will be leaving the club in the summer unless he agrees a new deal all scored but we couldn't even force extra time.

Three days later and we faced a tough trip to Honefoss and we could only muster a one all draw as Andreas Hopmark struck after eighty six minutes.

Kristiansund's first home game of the month saw us defeat Kongsvinger three one as Eirik Ulland Andersen got us off to a dream start after only two minutes while Jean Alassane Mendy and Liridon Kalludra also added first half goals as we returned to winning ways competitively.

A tough home clash against Bodo/Glimt was up next and a late, late goal from Henrik Rolland rescued a one all draw.

We then travelled to Ranheim to conclude the month of May and we suffered our second league defeat of the season, crashing three one as Eirik Ulland Andersen scored our consolation goal after fifty seven minutes, a frustrating afternoon but a deserved defeat.

Our one and only game in June saw us demolish Sarpsborg 7-3 in a game that saw both Jean Alassane Mendy and Liridon Kalludra both score twice while Robin Shroot, Eirik Ulland Andersen and Aziz Idris were also on target in the ten goal thriller.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/aiJtXNT7OoUHuxuXPEHMR5WTDtvtzrivphJQBWTJ.jpg

I'm delighted to announce that we're sitting top of the table albeit on goal difference but I'll take it...at the moment. So far we are averaging three goals a game but we have conceded twenty two goals in the opening twelve games and that does need to be addressed because I'm fed up shipping goals all the time.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Otche13bZMqQkuciW0KVzEkWjXWXdwbeEtqSnCcu.jpg

A new one year contract extension has also been agreed as it was a perfect time (sitting top of the table) to agree to the deal so I hope I don't regret signing the deal but at least it's just a years extension so it'll expire at the end of December in twenty seventeen. I only had seven months remaining on my current deal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zJzZQSDxHtXYxiG3ORbbMd41ku8osYnOd9fDFNJD.jpg

Just to add to the 'feel good factor', I have finally completed my first set of coaching qualifications as I've now got my National C Licence but I'm not finished as I'm determined to get my next licence, ideally while at Kristiansund as they seem happy enough to pay for them, much to my delight and I'd love to repay the club with promotion to the top flight.

Kristiansund BK: July 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WsIBFTYJKNcFxQ6qdBLaKMhpEsUCblV4Tal7A7Uv.png

Despite being top of the table, even on goal difference, I still wasn't overly impressed with some of the performances this season as we've been shipping at least a goal per game in the league hence ZERO clean sheets to date, something I hope changes. Four games were played this month and although it was unbeaten it was still mixed.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gg65gkbNxBWBcteqfMjgioLrjVgJcZQrQlHw901o.jpg

We travelled to the basement club Ull/Kisa as July started in the middle of the month and we stuttered to a three all draw, much to my disgust. Eirik Ulland Andersen scored twice, finding an equaliser in second half stoppage time to salvage the draw while Jean Alassane Mendy scored the other goal just before the hour mark.

Three days later we welcomed HamKam and once again shipped three goals but this time managed to win the game four three thanks to a goal two minutes from time from new signing Magnus Blakstad while Jean Alassane Mendy scored twice and Sondre Sorlie also scored as we secured maximum points but need to stop shipping pointless goals.

A home fixture against Majondalen was next as we squeezed a two one win but once again we conceded the first goal much to my displeasure but a double from Robin Shroot, also in the first half, secured the comeback victory.

July ended with a our third home game on the bounce as Sandefjord visited and despite being battered throughout and second best, we pinched a late point through Sverre Okland. The goal was completely undeserved and we had some 'nerve' scoring it but I'll take it indeed as we secured an undefeated month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/JuuhcpTXamwDWiRD9OxJzbMLudlWgZrZfxnXgGgw.jpg

It remains tight at the top and after picking up two draws this month, we are now lying in fourth place but only four points behind leaders Bodo/Glimt and just like normal, we are conceding a bucket load of goals as we're now up to thirty and no matter what I do, we can't stop conceding - the alarming this is, we have conceded two more goals than the basement side.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/OGgPWsVndgIIXvGVPGAXAYsDnFP0xqkKH0m3tlw6.jpg

For the second time while at Kristiansund, I will be studying, this time for my National B Licence and I am absolutely delighted as it seems I am getting somewhere in football management, once again the club are covering the six hundred pound fee and again it'll take approximately four months to study but will probably take a bit longer.

Kristiansund BK: August 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SWSYLmPc6vOkhJSEo5GQ2qopZYiuNDqZRKah95pJ.png

We have now reached the business end of the season as only three months remain as we look to secure promotion to the top flight of Norwegian football and chalking off another title in this country in the process but it's not going to be easy, that's for sure. We had five tough games awaiting us in August as we looked to put a 'stronghold' on our promotion challenge.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BpZHGyEf9K60RE4HVAscp9NNidke1UoQvFpj4Uby.jpg

August began with a straight forward home victory over Raufoss as an Eirik Ulland Andersen hat trick saw us seal a 3-0 success.

Just a few days later we would be involved in an eleven goal thriller against Bryne as we defeated them by six goals to five in a game were defences weren't on top form, Eirik Ulland Andersen continued his excellent scoring form with two more while Jean Alassane Mendy also struck twice away from home - Henrik Rolland and Robin Shroot were also on target.

We would suffer our first defeat of the month as Stabaek defeated us two one, our only goal of the game came from the penalty spot courtesy of left back Eriend Sivertsen who is all but set to leave the club in the summer as he's still refusing to sign a new deal, shame because he's one of our best players.

Two second half goals from Morten Nordby who put through his own net and Jean Alassane Mendy saw us win two nil at home to Tromsdalen.

Our second loss of the month would conclude August as the side suffered a three one reversal at Alta, central midfielder Sverre Okland scored just before the hour mark as we suffered another set back in our promotion challenge.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xPGFdQvSgda1YNnb3Gt1NCQML1Wi8HADaRSqO6hk.jpg

Those two defeats this season hasn't caused too much 'damage' in our promotion hopes as we still remain in fourth place and only three points behind the leaders who are now Stabaek and they've only lost two league games all season, they're looking quite good for the title but still nine games remain and that'll be full of twists and turns.

We have hit some inconsistent form Dan and that could cost us any chance at winning the league, ideally we need to win the majority of our final nine games to have any chance of winning the league.

Cheers for the comment itchycoo, both Andersen and Mendy are outstanding at this level.

Kristiansund BK: September 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/aLTyYpQqQyGrtJSahRwvYgKiFW1mDXHf2Ugc9i7G.png

Just nine league games were remaining as we looked to at least secure a play-off spot as we had four games in the penultimate month of twenty sixteen, yet again we had four league fixtures with two at home and two games on the road.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hTq7kGLmJ0FcXnVEVkgfGDd9vPmjYq0mTaZIRFc8.jpg

A home game against Hodd started the month of September and two lets goals sealed a deserved 2-0 win as Robin Shroot broke the deadlock four minutes from time before Eirik Ulland Andersen added the second in the third minute of added time.

We travelled to Kongsvinger seven days later as we suffered a three two defeat - Robin Shroot and Jean Alassane Mendy were our goalscorers but it was a disappointing defeat.

Our second consecutive away game took us to Bodo/Glimt who eased to a four one win, central midfielder Magnus Blakstad scored our consolation goal just after the hour mark.

The month ended with a third game without a win as a late Eirik Ulland Andersen goal salvaged a one one draw at home to Honefoss.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/76gsvyF82bzjXvuXhI60L7XKPXLyHcZILzKIudnU.jpg

Three games without a win now and we still haven't secured a play-off spot which I'm slightly annoyed about but I'm confident we can secure a play-off spot within the final five games and I hope results go our way so I can secure one as soon as possible. With five games to go, no one has yet been relegated.

Kristiansund BK: October 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/owyh2jEfD0Az4wtCCfkZEf2HGMhXXzqnUVhbZARv.png

Last month was a poor month for the club as our hopes to finish in a play-off spot took a massive hit but the final month of the campaign ended up being disastrous, yes we finished in a play-off, albeit undeserved but we couldn't even win a single game in the month of October as the league campaign fizzled out in a whimper.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dIbRs2VE0f7lmyER3nG2jzbLDMcXfNFqCeafimTx.jpg

We started the final month of the twenty sixteen campaign with a home fixture against Ranheim who defeated us three two - goals in either half from Jean Alassane Mendy and Andreas Hopmark wasn't enough to even rescue a point.

Seven days later the side made the trip to Sarpsborg and again suffered a play-off setback, losing five two this time and our two goals came in the second half through Eirik Ulland Andersen and Jean Alassane Mendy who I have been told to drop a few times for being 'rubbish' but why would I drop a 'prolific' goal scorer at this level? Idiots.

It would be back to back away trips as we'd visit HamKam and once again lose but this time two one, the departing Eriend Sivertsen scored our goal on forty one minutes from the penalty spot. He'll be hard to replace, very hard.

It would then be four defeats on the bounce and no wins in the last seven as Ull/Kisa defeated us 1-0 at home.

And the league season concluded with another league defeat away to Mjondalen who edged a five goal thriller, our two strikes arrived in the second half through Liridon Kalludra, another player departing the club and will be virtually impossible to replace and Martin Lundal who added our second goal with four minutes left.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WtdAsZ4jqRGyqazEPhrCRW34KaLJjMagaQYX9DIF.jpg

How? Despite a horrific end to the campaign, we have somehow secured a play-off spot and I feel it's completely undeserved as we've been dross. We have been joined in the play-offs with Honefoss, Sarpsborg and Ranheim while Stabaek have won the league and Bodo/Glimt will join them as runners-up along with the play-off winners.

It's cheerio to Raufoss who suffer the 'humiliation' of finishing bottom, Tromsdalen, Hodd and Kongsvinger while Sandefjord's 'reward' for finishing three points above the relegation zone iirc was their manager, Brian Deane, getting the chop.

Kristiansund BK: Play-off round one

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vGGPILZ76hEy3NAsuNjgooSZpwFLAlkR4cQ2wAEF.png

It has been an awful end to the campaign and with confidence probably gone then it wasn't ideal ahead of the first round of the play-off's as we faced Sarpsborg away from home and the bookies had us at 10/1 outsiders to advance, probably due to our atrocious form, could we cause an upset an advanced to the next round?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5MOMY8A6hmYTt5OCeN5UxMjU7n4BGjZfd6PjADGi.jpg

No we couldn't as our poor form continued although we did undeservedly force extra time and even had the 'audacity' to have a half time lead when Magnus Blakstad scored on twenty seven minutes but Sarpsborg equalised eleven minutes into the second half and then no one could find a winner and extra time it was.

For the second time we took the lead two minutes into extra time when Eirik Ulland Andersen scored but again we couldn't even hold on until half time in extra time as Arber Isufi levelled to make it two two, late goals from Ole Heieren Hansen and Tom Erik Breieve meant it would be the home side who would advance our season would peter out.

It was very disappointing to concede the two late goals in extra time Dan but we didn't deserve to win the game anyhow so I suppose I can't be overly disappointed. Kristiansund BK: Pre season news

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/QO9A2MhcHKZaT85k6TsPoHprPQN6JGEsW60YTiTG.png

With an horrific end of season behind us or so I hope that saw us lose in the first round of the play-off's, it was time to regroup and try and get ready for the forthcoming season as once again the play-off's must be the absolute minimum while I wouldn't actually mind a cup run too. The media have us predicted to finish ninth, one down from last season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dp8t2NLLt4mCTmKepu0jBRDK1vHnrB55nrtL1oWF.jpg

Just like the last season, the minimum expectation is for the club to achieve a respectable position in the Adeccoligaen this season and once again I believe that's achievable but won't take the plunge for the other two options. Unambitious or realistic? You decide.

So since I've decided to select top half finish, I have been given a two hundred and forty thousand pound transfer budget that I'd probably barely put a dent in it while I've also got a solid enough wage budget for this level too. If I had selected 'title challenge' then I would've got a three hundred thousand transfer kitty but it wasn't worth the 'plunge' in my opinion.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/KS1zAiqLJbMuWJWTgFEXqUj9fv8Du2qCNGk4UwBI.jpg

My assistant manager has decided to arrange TWELVE pre season friendly fixtures in an attempt to get match fitness up to scratch and it isn't an easy program by any stretch.

We will start with six home games and three against Danish trip AaB, Nordsjaelland and Kobenhavn before facing Swedish duo Goteborg and AIK and then we'd face Norwegian top flight side Aalesund. We will then travel for three games to Frei, Nardo and Kristiansund FK before facing Lillestrom at home, Dahle away and then Rosenborg at home to conclude the program.

A tough pre season indeed.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/IQ6CTBiFGQnqR0z8E0GrqRkuSVl6QZVoXbVEY4bm.jpg

And step #2 is down in my qualification set as I've proudly completed my National B Licence, much to my delight as once again it took longer than the approx. four months but at least it's done and dusted and now I can concentrate, hopefully, on getting my National A Licence eventually.

Kristiansund BK: Pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BzvQLE3pdP2rtQX1LaDC6jDHrTPiy6zu206yTOI2.png

It was almost time for the twenty seventeen campaign to begin and my second full season at Kristiansund and it hasn't been a bad stint although it could have been better. An extraordinary twelve games were played in a pre season program while I wasn't overly busy in the transfer window as again their wasn't much talent around.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HS7ch4fFkeGKbOg5PJ0sv8mcjuWIxYNIb0gZ5oNv.png

A mixed pre season program saw us lose seven times out of twelve games but I don't think that's too bad considering the amount of teams we have faced who are arguably bigger than ourselves as we suffered defeats against AaB, Nordsjaelland, Kobenhavn, Goteborg, AIK, Aalesund and Rosenborg while we draw at home to Lillestrom.

Our four wins all came against teams in leagues below us against Frei, Nardo, Kristiansund FK and Dahle.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1NWdNgvrnGPwHflNPTpvq6MhBb4hMO8DxwwsEyK8.jpg

Four players arrived in the transfer window and the first was wing back Ole Martin Rindaroy arrived on a free transfer after agreeing a pre contract while central midfielders Ole Husby and Sebastian Remme Berge and our last signiing saw Frode Vik arrive from Rosenborg.

A massive ten players would depart the club and 'big' players to depart the club was Aziz Idris who wouldn't sign a new deal, same goes for Simon Tomren, Eriend Sivertsen joined Haugesund and Liridon Kalludra went to Start as they wouldn't also signed new deals. The other players who were released weren't good enough so I didn't renew their deals.

That's true Dan but then again we did play some tough teams in pre season so it's not an absolute disaster as pre season is all about getting match fitness and not the results, so if we start the season well then it's 'worked'. They're only youngsters, the only type of players I can sign from top teams unfortunately.

Kristiansund BK: April 2017

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hlLrJtSgDa2gAD4FQdeY0YINr2NRvuccDkI944NG.png

One the back of a busy pre season program that saw me lose quite a few games, albeit against top opposition, we headed into the league season looking to end the losing streak of competitive fixtures which saw last season peter out and end with a play-off defeat away to Sarpsborg. Five league games awaited us in April as well as a Cupen Cup first round tie.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iNS329eyxP0eX7MwMcf0PF71KsIeqGO9eTbPckr5.jpg

The twenty seventeen season kicked off with a trip to HamKam as our winless run came to an end following a two goal win on the road as both goals arrived in the first half. It took twenty seven minutes to break the deadlock when Henrik Rolland scored and that lead was doubled on forty three minutes through a Magnus Blakstad strike.

Our first home game of the campaign was against Mjondalen as we won a nine goal thriller, six three. Jean Alassane Mendy scored his first hat trick of the new season while the other scorers on the evening were Robin Shroot, Henrik Rolland and Sigurd Koksvik.

Four days later we travelled to Sandefjord and produced another solid away win as we ran out six two winners. Star striker Jean Alassane Mendy scored two while Jonas Ronningen, Eirik Ulland Andersen, Henrik Rolland and Sebastian Remme Berge were also on target and what's usually a tough venue for me as a manager.

The first dropped points of the season came in our home fixture with Ull/Kisa as it finished 2-2 as Jean Alassane Mendy struck twice within a four minute period in the first half but we struggled and couldn't find a late winner.

We advanced to the second round of the Cupen Cup as the side eased past Herd on the road as Jonas Ronningen, Viijar Olai Vold and Eirik Ulland Andersen were on the scoresheet, I ensured I played a full strength team (injuries/suspensions permitting) to avoid an embarrassing defeat, thankfully it didn't backfire.

April did conclude on the final day of the month as we suffered our first defeat of the season, crashing three one away to Honefoss as our only goal of the game came from star striker Jean Alassane Mendy who fired home after sixteen minutes but we couldn't build on that but at least we've recovered from last seasons terrible ending.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/FMLr9e5HAtS3gNE7AdsARrPJgjOWB0nAoNZ1ySzz.jpg

And we are sitting in fourth place as the opening month of the twenty seventeen campaign has been completed but again, conceding goals looks like it's going to be a problem as ten have been shipped in the opening five games but we've also scored seventeen as well. The four teams in the bottom four have all yet to taste victory this season.

Kristiansund BK: May 2017

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/8fBaKFcevp5mCp05Agkuf1I6slxFi7bYYMeKDSq7.png

With a promising start to the season behind us, we entered the month of May looking to maintain our solid start but we had six league games awaiting us as well as a second round Cupen Cup tie away from home, could I advance to the third round for the first time ever as a manager or would it more cup disappointment in Norway.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7XqGnK8cPCOmI5LA6t6JGSkxIUIY7q5P0hzEHgY3.jpg

Recently relegated Tromso was our first game of the month as we edged a seven goal thriller, winning four three in an excellent result for the club as all of our goals came in the second half as Jean Alassane Mendy, Sebastian Remme Berge, Viijar Olai Vold and Robin Shroot all found the target on an excellent night for the club.

Our Cupen Cup hopes ended in the second round as we lost three two away to lower league side Gjovik-Lyn much to my anger, Viijar Olai Vold and Daouda Bamba scored our goals but it wasn't enough to even force extra time.

We did bounce back in our next game, beating Ranheim three two at home - Daouda scored on twenty nine and eighty minutes while Jean Alassane Mendy scored what turned out to be the winning goal just sixty seconds later.

The first away league game of the month took us to Moss and we lost four two as Jean Alassane Mendy and Daouda Bamba were our scorers.

Just three days later we would defeat newly promoted Lyn four two at home as Sebastian Remme Berge scored our first goal on forty two minutes from the penalty spot, fellow central midfielder Magnus Blakstad scored twice including a fourth Kristiansund goal in stoppage time and defender Frode Vik was also on the scoresheet.

We then produced an excellent away performance to defeat Bryne four one as Jean Alassane Mendy scored twice while Sigurd Koksvik and Jonas Ronningen added late goals to secure an emphatic away win.

The month would close with a shocking four one defeat away to Sandnes as Viijar Olai Vold struck our consolation goal on fifty three minutes.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/OEWunFJnCFo5s2CSZQSChQWf90eeAJSElvQF4xCt.jpg

Come the end of May we are sitting in fourth place after those two league defeats this month, still shipping a crazy amount of goals (26 goals conceded in 11 games) and no matter what I try and do, that can't seem to be addressed, it's actually annoying me now to an extent that it's 'unrealistic' in my opinion but c'est le vie.

It has been another promising start to the league campaign as we're once again exceeding expectations as we're lying in fourth place (predicted to finish ninth) but as much as I'd love us to secure the league title this season, it's impossible as we'd need to knock out the inconsistent form that has plagued us since my arrival.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/a7bx2tzEUxeP64tNPWQrt98FiJsynYx13k1uZGYt.jpg

Just the two games were played this month and the first was at home to my former employers Kvik Halden who we defeated by three goals to win. Our star striker Jean Alassane Mendy scored twice after nine and forty nine minutes while Robin Shroot sealed the points with a late third as the game entered stoppage time.

Six days later and my side travelled to Byasen and again secured a three one win and again Jean Alassane Mendy was at the 'double' as this time his goals arrived on twenty eight minutes and with nineteen minutes remaining while Daouda Bamba added goal number three on eighty eight minutes to conclude a short but perfect month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kJbGUCgP2PG8tmwSHKgvPLXQjTKy9brWKohdORS9.jpg

We will head into the short summer break top of the table which I'm delighted with but I know the form won't last as we're due to lose loads of games in a row, in a repeat of last season unless of course they've learned from that debacle last season, we have lost just the three games from thirteen but have conceded twenty eight goals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/0226iRy5dW9LFu2QecOrwVaGhg0AVDGmhSwodpAW.jpg

Yet again I will be heading for more coaching qualifications as I'm going to be studying for my National A Licence and my third set of 'badges' since I've arrived at Kristiansund and once again it's going to take around four months to complete but I can guarantee it'll take longer, as usual.

Once again the club will be covering the £600 fee so I suppose I should remain somewhat loyal to them.

The final piece of news this month is that I've agreed another one year contract extension that'll now see my deal expire at the end of December in the year twenty eighteen, it was a deal that I 'needed' to sign as I only had six months remaining on my current deal and didn't want to end up unemployed - I would love to secure a league title at Kristiansund as they've been 'loyal' to me.

It's a shame that I won't remain top, isn't it Dan? We are due to hit some shocking form a la last season. See, why would I want to ever leave Kristiansund while they're funding my coaching courses? Unless I get a chance at a 'bigger' club. Can't wait until I complete my National A so then I can move onto my Continental Licence(s).

Kristiansund BK: July 2017

Top of the table and playing some nice football, it's been a great opening thirteen games for my Kristiansund side but if we could maintain that start then we could be well on course for promotion to the top flight of Norwegian football although theirs still seventeen league games remain so they'll be twists, turns and poor form.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/T56YcfCDStKieS0B8wzmzGnQYBUSbP77OeVNmfno.jpg

Our opening game of July saw us ease to a three nil win at home to Alta to maintop top spot, Jean Alassane Mendy continued his fantastic season to date with a treble inside the opening twenty five minutes of the game.

Three days later we played our second successive home game as we welcomed HamKam and could only manage a two all draw as once again Jean Alassane Mendy hit a second half double as we struck on fifty three and fifty eight minutes, we were unfortunately unable to find a winning goal.

Jean Alassane Mendy scored for the third consecutive game this month on seventy six minutes but couldn't stop us crashing to a shocking and unacceptable six one reversal away to Mjondalen, probably our worst performance of the season and it could be a confidence damager but we'll soon see I suppose.

It just shows you how tight the top of the table is, as my Kristiansund side have slipped from top spot down to third after only collecting four points from a possible nine this month, it's also more surprising that Tromso, relegated last year, aren't actually running away with the league as I and I suspect most people thought they would have.

Unlucky mate, but only three points from the top! However you do realise Mjondalen are in the relegation zone

And the fact Mjondalen are in the relegation zone is what makes the result all that more embarrassing Dan.

Kristiansund BK: August 2017

It seems my mate has returned this season, yes inconsistency as we could only pick up one win and four points from the nine that was available last month and that's just not good enough if we're to be considered a serious threat in the promotion picture. The month of August would see us face four games as Mr. Inconsistent remained around.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xVW0BQU6ZrKTZxHBMKBiUT25XtRX67cUC9voc0HJ.jpg

August would start with a home game against Sandefjord and three goals in the final eleven minutes saw us run out three one winners as Daouda Bamba fired home twice while Ole Martin Rindaroy also struck on eighty two minutes, a vital three points as we returned to winning ways.

For the second time in three games, we conceded six goals on the road as Strommen defeated us 6-2 much to my annoyance and one of the main reasons why we shouldn't be considered a threat in the promotion race. Central defender Andreas Hopmark and Henrik Rolland scored our 'consolation' goals on another forgettable away day.

We remained on the road for our next game and that was against Ull/Kisa and a stunning away display saw us win three nil. Eirik Ulland Andersen broke the deadlock on nineteen minutes before an own goal on the hour mark from Simen Olafsen doubled the lead and then seven minutes later Henrik Rolland made it three.

The month would conclude though with a disappointing three two defeat against leaders Honefoss in a game that saw Jean Alassane Mendy end his few game goal drought as we scored twice within the space of a minute but we messed the game up and lost a game we perhaps should have won and we'll never get anywhere if we keep throwing games away.

And just to show how tight the top truly is, we have now slipped down to sixth place after only winning twice this month from four games but we have a ten point gap over seventh placed Sandefjord but unless we wise up and start finding consistency, that gap will close and our season will fall into obscurity...again.

Certainly hope the ten point gap over the chasing packs ends up being enough for us Dan.

Kristiansund BK: September 2017

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/KCEZdEVHYjpxZvNPqTPjoRmJnvYl2xsdvuGXl9Ce.png

It's now the penultimate month of the campaign and September would see us play four games as we looked to maintain our play-off chances as it has been a good season for the club and hopefully it won't "collapse" like last season. September had four games, the first two would see us travel on the road while the last two would be at our KFK-Banen venue.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tQgVoQvCKHuk8d3YZk6Jwt4u9Kw8XtqsBhhQ2Hmp.jpg

An away trip to league favourites Tromso started September as we sprung no surprised, deservedly losing 2-0 as we could only manage one single chance on target and two overall and that's not good enough but I allowed a 'bye ball' as Tromso are the favourites and much better than ourselves.

We then made the journey to fellow play-off 'rivals' Ranheim and edged a seven goal thriller as we returned home with a four three win. Eirik Ulland Andersen after only three minutes, two goals from Robin Shroot after sixteen and forty seven and Jean Alassane Mendy with twenty minutes remaining were all on target.

Four days later saw us produce a five star performance, hammering Sandnes five nil at home and despite a 'tentative' first half, we headed into the interval two goals up as Andreas Hopmark and Jean Alassane Mendy scored late in the first half but we wouldn't stop (thankfully) and added three more goals in the second half. Central midfielder Sebastian Remme Berge scored two minutes into the second half before Robin Shroot and Henrik Rolland added goals four and five inside the final ten minutes.

The final game of the penultimate month was a home fixture against Moss who we defeated four three as Jean Alassane Mendy struck in either half while Sebastian Remme Berge scored for the second game running and Robin Shroot added in fourth goal in three games this month as we maintained our play-off challenge,

Just six league games are remaining and we're still in the race for the title along with both of last season's relegated clubs Honefoss and Tromso following three wins on the bounce as we've climbed up to fourth place and we're sitting eight points behind the leaders so it's going to be a tense and nervous final six games.

Obviously I don't think we'll win the league unless Tromso will go on a losing streak Dan but at least we're looking good for at least a play-off spot and exceeding expectations for the second straight campaign despite constantly conceding goals.

Kristiansund BK: October + November 2017

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/m6TxjZWLDmlRu1C8pvejj0Ngb2l83KUcQ0POD4jS.png

It is now the final month of the twenty seventeen season and believe it or not, we still have an outside chance of winning the league title although it'll be difficult as we are sitting eight points behind league favourites Tromso who I doubt will go on a losing streak, nor will Honefoss. Five games were played in October with just the one in November that I've decided to add.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qEny9mEMLtbaDhqE6frXQPlK4cnXYdTWPSyI41jL.jpg

A tough trip to Lyn kick started the month of October as we won a ten goal thriller, 6-4. Jean Alassane Mendy continued his fantastic season to date with a treble while Eirik Ulland Andersen struck twice and Henrik Rolland scored the other goal on a remarkable evening on the road.

One week later and we hosted Bryne and defeated them three goals to one as Henrik Rolland, Jean Alassane Mendy and Sigurd Koksvik were on target.

We then travelled to relegation threatened Kvik Halden and despite falling behind, we won 2-1 and needed a dramatic late winner - Jean Alassane Mendy equalised with twenty minutes remaining and when the game looked to end in a disappointing draw, Sebastian Remme Berge fired home in the first minute of stoppage time to seal a dramatic win.

Seven days later and the next game would be against another relegation threatened side in Byasen as we eased to a four one win as Jean Alassane Mendy continued his fine goal scoring form this month with his sixth and seventh goal in four games while Viijar Olai Vold and Joakim Bjerkas were also on target in the home success.

The final game of October was a tough trip to fellow play-off contenders Alta and we had to come from behind to seal a 5-3 win as Robin Shroot, Magnus Blakstad, Jean Alassane Mendy, Joakim Bjerkas and Eirik Ulland Andersen were all on target in the excellent away success at a ground I usually struggle at iirc.

The curtain came down in the twenty seventeen season on the fifth of November as we played out a two all draw at home to Strommen, trailing at half time, goals from Jean Alassane Mendy and a Magnus Blakstad penalty had turned the game around but we couldn't hold on for maximum points as Strommen equalised. It wouldn't make a difference anyway as Honefoss won 2-0 iirc and sealed the second automatic spot, play-off's it is then.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1oOLDg7q98th0Wt3tCtO0yffIfLtnCvrJlVxC8Vl.jpg

I don't think anyone is surprised when they see that both Honefoss and Tromso have both won promotion to the top flight as expect with the latter winning the league while we had to settle for a play-off spot for the second season running and we've been joined by Strommen, Sandnes Ulf and Alta who finish three points ahead of the team in seventh.

At the bottom of the table it's once again goodbye to my former employers Kvik Halden who have now suffered relegation in two out of the past three seasons while HamKam, Mjondalen and Byasen have also been relegated down a division, I've no doubt at least two of them will win automatic promotion next season.
