My first trophy on this career is looking good Dan but I refuse to get carried away until it's mathamatically wrapped up.

Of course I am Eric Portapotty, he's my inspiration didn't you know? Ha. To be fair, I was always going to change the name of the thread eventually as I've decided I want to conquer the world, and not just Europe any more.

Kvik Halden: September 2014

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LOCEWZeWlxTEYCuZtxYR7zFFnlGSaghnIK2R1ryY.png

I entered the penultimate month of the current campaign still top of the table and looking good in the title picture as I looked to wrap up my first league title on what is expected to be an epic managerial career. Four games were played this month but it also turned out to be my worst month to date in management and I hope it won't cost us the league title at the end of the day.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/v7bBOEoI2ldPL6Dx0GBIeL1WpZx4IzrG1pnzCMAG.jpg

An awful month for Kvik started with a home game against Eidsvold Turn and we had to come from two goals down to salvage a point, Martin Elvestad pulled a goal back on sixty four minutes before Fabian Andersen's goal, seven minutes from time rescued an unlikely point.

Seven days later we welcomed Lorenskog to our home ground as we won five two, Shkodran Rexhaj struck on nine minutes, Aleksander Jaeger continued his fine season with a hat trick and central defender Ole Stromsborg was also on target as we got maximum points and our only win of the month.

The side made the trip to Oslo next to face KFUM and lost 3-1 as Shkodran Rexhaj scored on twenty nine minutes.

September ended with a devastating destroy-meant from the hands of Follo who won seven two in an attempt to really kill our confidence at our own home crowd as the players were rightly 'booed' off. The only bright moment in the hiding was another two goals from Aleksander Jaeger who was hoping to finish the season at top scorer.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/25HTA0u10I69NY0j3qAGGWb6cRrfvloWbmcTCwLz.jpg

Those two disappointing defeats mean our lead at the top has been cut to just four points with four league games remaining so the destiny is still in our own hands but I wouldn't be surprised if we messed everything up and ended up finish something like third, would be typical. We have scored a remarkable (or unrealistic, depending how you look at it) eighty five goals this season and conceded fifty three.

Entertainment? At least you get your money's worth.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tai1CRcS9yXM8TRyoDDoAq2BIaPitiGHrQ6laog6.jpg

This month also saw me put pen to paper on a new one year contract extension at Kvik Halden as I had only three months to run on my current deal which expired at the end of December twenty fourteen. I'm pleased to have agreed a short term contract as I'm optimistic about the future, but that could also be disastrous.

Just hope that I can 'celebrate' this new contract by securing my first ever trophy in football management.

You could be correct Dan but they're doing the utmost to ruin a good league campaign by losing unnecessary games.

It really annoyed me Johno, such a spineless and gutless performance when you can't afford to have any. We now have four games in an attempt to wrap up the league title and secure my first trophy on the board.

Kvik Halden: October 2014

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/b9N8JhUYQUF8z026LqOLILh4c0TKbdXlrkXYq7t8.png

It all came down to this, the final month of the twenty fourteen campaign and four games in an attempt to wrap up the Oddsenligaen Avdeling 4 title and my first since trophy since becoming a football manager back on the fourth of February of this year. Four games awaited us, two away and two at home but could we secure the title, or would we fade away at the death?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pqIMTCUWq3xOdIgfoEOPXUCKhoX6rXs2muv3ogPH.jpg

The first game of a crucial month saw us make the journey to Finnsnes as we lost by two goals to one, striker Trond Haugstad scored our only goal four minutes before half time.

One week later we edged a seven goal thriller against Harstad, winning four three. Star winger Fabian Andersen scored twice, one in either half while Fredrik Borenstein and Martin Elvestad also found the net in what could turn out to be three crucial points in the race for the title.

Our final game of the campaign took us to Kjelsas and we had to come from behind (iirc) to secure a three two win, two goals from Shkodran Rexhaj inside the final sixteen minutes proved to be the difference, Trond Haugstad scored our first goal on sixty eight minutes and that meant that the race for the title went to the final day, we had Moss and we were in the 'driving seat'.

So we welcomed Moss to our humble adobe for the final league game of the calendar year, and season and we ended the season with a disappointing three two defeat, would that be enough to secure title #1 though? - Trond Haugstad scored on eleven minutes, Fabian Andersen struck our second with six minutes to go.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/AnUhwf8ghgsrKLzXcA7wihZpD1wFJRBAYBgILJS2.jpg

Champions! I'm pleased that I've secured my first trophy in football management even though the players did their utmost to ruin the season with poor performances and results at the business end of the season and shipping goals still caused to be a problems, it means we'll now head into the second tier of Norwegian football but that's good to be very tough, I'd be happy to survive.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/J6JeJLqBJcL7EwS2ClWqtkukXhnjfUWZw06kDdcY.jpg

So this is how the table has finished, Kvik Halden have won the league, finishing just three points clear at the top and scoring ninety five goals in the process so we came so close to the 'ton' of league goals but I didn't expect that, the alarming thing is though, sixty three goals were conceded and that can't happen next season or we'll be doomed from the get go.

At the bottom of the table it's goodbye to Valerenga 2, Medkila and Drobak-Frogn who all had seasons to forget.

Cheers for the comment Bukinapreto, promotion was good but I'm under no illusions that next season is going to be incredibly tough and wouldn't be surprised if I ended up getting relegation or worse, sacked. At the moment though I'm looking forward to the second tier but will I be saying that a few months into the season? Ha, probably not.

Kvik Halden: Pre season news

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lsJqnclUDvPMI7txEAeNHqL1HkIu7bc99F4uNZmb.png

It's now time for the reality to kick in following last seasons title win, the Adeccoligean is going to be tough but yet we're predicted to finish just above the relegation zone, a position I will be absolutely delighted with, but the squad needs to be strengthened and quickly.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zdqagEbTPYSRHsIa3YhxzIH3paERbL8Q6a6mjPbE.jpg

The minimum expectation from the board is that they expect us to avoid relegation and that's my minimum expectation but the problem is we don't have a transfer budget and that doesn't help but we do have a decent enough wage budget and I'm expecting to make some signings in an attempt to survive. The other two options imo are unrealistic for a club of our level so didn't even consider them.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zH7P7RjsCeesP4FC9QuJmRuRvJiWnnF2O7zeNXaw.jpg

Steffen Iversen has arranged four pre season friendly games, one at home against top flight side Tromso which is going to be a very, very tough game while we will face Drammen, Jammerbugt and Gjovik-Lyn all away from home before our league opener and that's will be away to league favourites Fredrikstad, a very tough start.

Cheers Tommo. I suppose it all depends on how well we start the campaign, depends on whether we'll have a good season or not.

Kvik Halden: Pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bTRrOEKH5WJCFYMUoQnII3d4YNPzieyN5IztJDVF.png

It was time to prepare for what is going to be I've no doubt a very tough season for the club and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended in relegation and/or the sack. Four pre season friendlies we're played over the course of around seventeen days while I wasn't as busy in the transfer market as I thought I'd be which I'm a bit annoyed about but struggled to find quality.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6okdWHUk54RGzgvGqWaXrJfQqWV7F3zDabNN0GMb.jpg

Wasn't the greatest pre season that I've had as we could only manage wins in half of the games and only kept a single clean sheet.

Things did start though with a credible draw against top flight and newly promoted side Tromso as Aleksander Jaeger struck a late equalising goal in a three all draw while we demolished Drammen four nil, lost one nil away to Jammerbugt in a shocking performance and then defeated Gjovik-Lyn three two also on the road.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bOuOoqXqTduoQyfzdrEiF8MH3Wa47C6CpTd7Nynl.jpg

Just three signings were made this summer, one pre-arranged from the previous season as Petter Hermansen arrived on a free transfer from Tonsberg while I loaned in Valerenga's central defender Simen Olafsen for the season and then headed back to them to capture left winger Elvind Gjerde for six thousand pound and I feel the seventeen year old has a big future.

The biggest departure of the transfer window, that also caused disgust amongst the team was the decision that I had to make and that was to let star central defender Ole Stromsborg depart the club as he joined Tromso for three hundred thousand, he wouldn't sign a new deal and I wasn't losing him on a free transfer, Martin Vethe joined Orn Horten on loan.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/NXNxRYRSmsfvbz6q1SXo3kfztNbpx2HQBtkC2y36.jpg

Once again I have signed a new deal, this time it's a one year contract extension and that means the deal won't expire now until December twenty sixteen. I had ten months remaining on my current deal so it's good to get the sorted very quickly and now I can concentrate on the football for the season in an attempt to survive.

All I need now is for the club to have some money so I can actually start my coaching badges.

Congrats on the promotion and league title, now the hard work really starts with Kvik. Getting promotion and only getting very slight wage budget differences for various league finishes really dictates for me the task for the club. To range from staying up to a top half finish does perhaps suggest it might be possible for a good league position next season. Going to be interesting!

Appreciate the comment DP91 and it was nice to wrap up the league title, especially with those defeats near the end of the campaign which I thought would have cost us but thankfully it didn't. It's going to be one tough season but I'm hoping we can at least survive this campaign and then build on from that.

Kvik Halden: April 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fYARQT1ujxrxWet2xAf9XUxZnzaR6u98sU3i5nGG.png

With a decent enough pre season program behind us, it was time to concentrate on the competitive fixtures as the season starting with a daunting away trip to the league favourites, we would also have another six games in a busy opening month with one of them being in the Cupen Cup first round. How did we fare?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uB5UwEDwEhZ7EXpc7nRR4HMgCcwEKveHrRCvELiS.jpg

An away trip to Fredrikstad started the season and even though I did state it would be a 'hard' game, I didn't fathom us suffering a nine nil defeat in my first game of the Adeccoligaen season, it was mortifying and it looks like that'll set the tone for the campaign ahead.

Three days later we did pick up our first set of maximum points as we defeated Vindbjart two one at home, first half goals from Elvind Gjerde and Agim Shabani had us two goals up at the interval, the visiting side did pull a goal back near the end but we held on for three points to almost get over that nine goal hiding from a few days ago.

Raufoss away was up next and we suffered a two nil defeat.

Our second successive away game was next as we travelled to Nest-Sotra and we picked up a one all draw, central defender Agim Shabani scored our goal on forty one minutes.

Four days later we made the trip to Baerum in the Cupen Cup first round and it was our third consecutive away trip, we suffered a humiliating two one defeat as once again we crashed in the first round, Aleksander Jaeger scored his first goal of the season but it couldn't produce a comeback.

The penultimate game of the month saw us host Sandefjord and we crashed to a five nil defeat in another shocking performance for us in the opening month and confidence has been indeed shot, visitors Sandefjord did deserve to win the game so I've no complaints but it would be nice to win another game this season.

August ended with another defeat and the fourth time in seven fixtures we failed to score a goal as Kristiansund won three nil.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/traN8BkovcVHzC1dcPPf9rvmEEwRLWB9LDuz8aaw.jpg

It's been a shocking start to the season and we're shipping goals like crazy as we've conceded TWENTY ONE times in just six games, scoring the three and I'm just glad Ranheim are winless as that's what's keeping us from propping up the league table. Early doors but it looks absolutely grim.

Kvik Halden: May/June 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Cn7qeTSjxAWWsaiua6OUmW6Mgz4q9TCftrCDjkkW.png

With a shocking start to the season behind us, it was time to roll up and get back onto the ball in an attempt to get our season up and running - I decided to throw in June's update too as only one game was played. Seven games played (the one in June as well), could our season finally kick start or would the miserable start continue?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xo8eHSye7vynIIfyN4ulRPderIsfFGdhyaEeR0qc.jpg

We won only our second game of the season as we defeated Hodd by two goals one which is slightly disappointing as goals from Aleksander Jaeger and a penalty from Martin Elvestad had us two nil up inside the opening eighteen minutes but we couldn't add to the lead and the visitors pulled one back, thankfully we held on.

One week later we had a daunting trip to Bodo/Glimt who eased to a three nil victory, we were expected to suffer a big loss so I guess conceding three isn't the end of the world, another game in which we failed to score though.

An away trip to Strommen came five days later and we suffered back to back losses once again as the hosts won four one, Fabian Andersen scored our consolation goal with the game entering second half stoppage time.

It would be three defeats on the spin as Ull/Kisa won two one at our home venue, Aleksander Jaeger scored for us on twelve minutes.

Four defeats on the spin would happen as Sarpsborg defeated us two nil at home in front of the television cameras. We once again deserved to lose the game as we just haven't adapted to the Adeccoligaen yet and the way things are going, it might be too late by the time we do.

The final game of the month saw our losing streak of four games come to an end as we drew with Alta in a game that saw Aleksander Jaeger score on seventy two minutes, the other goal was an own goal by Hakon Holmeng-Berg on sixty two minutes.

Our one and only game in June saw us win only our third game of the season saw us defeat Fyllingsdalen three one thanks to goals from Dardan Mehmeti, Christoffer Solheim and Elvind Gjerde as we're now sitting third from bottom of the Adeccoligaen table.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6ygsvI3Hn7U9NG8941KZveZa49g4qsPN0a1F833b.jpg

So despite winning our third game of the month we still find ourselves third bottom as we are sitting on eleven points and we have conceded thirty six times but only scored twelve, we do look doomed, even this early on in the season but I will try and battle on and hopefully survive this season.

Kvik Halden: July 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dWhrhtxMzVTZwbuJFE7K5vpB72jEkI048Dyh9pSX.png

Following a long before after our league trip to Fyllingsdalen, the league resumed in July as we had two games as we looked to win back to back games this season for the first time this season as we look to continue or battle to avoid the drop, we faced two tough games but couldn't afford to lose them both.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Ki3PD4o9AAGNv2q9c1IDdhrvi0OTegqhoyEtq8OY.jpg

The league returned with a trip to Tromsdalen and we returned to losing ways after slipping to a three two defeat, winger Elvind Gjerde and Shkodran Rexhaj scored our goals.

Three days later we hosted Ranheim who eased to a three one victory despite Aleksander Jaeger giving us a second minute lead at home, we couldn't capitalise and the visitors then scored three goals without reply to send us to yet another league defeat this year, we really do looked doomed for relegation.

Now, why did I only have two league games in July? This is why:

http://i.imgur.com/azbF2z2.jpg

I've decided to hand in my resignation to the Kvik Halden board as I feel like a failure in an attempt to make them safe. I was delighted when we won the Oddsenligaen Avdeling 4 last year but this season has been one disastrous campaign bar our three league wins, which, in my opinion, just isn't good enough.

So I will hand the club to some other manager and hope his 'experience' can make them safe.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PTv9hUdlwLBQhEw0c3WOAFDOSyxKKpHcywLakBLl.jpg

I leave the club lying third bottom with only three league wins from the opening fifteen games and at the half way point of the campaign. Eleven points from a possible forty five isn't good enough although obviously I didn't expect forty five points but at least twenty points and I felt we deserved more points on the board.

Job #2: Staying put in Norway

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vpV6VuXJpI1ONiYl7ElpGucZREtDGygkI0k1lIO4.png
Tuesday, 4 August 2015

Following my resignation at Kvik Halden I wanted to try and make an immediate return to football management but I will need to remain in Norway as I don't have any more leagues loaded at this present time. Two jobs in the second tier were available but would I manage to get employed by one of them?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EHyMEjWxoiDuCuweAjQUZ3cb7VANqj2DW1SyrLNF.jpg

Kristiansund was the team I applied for, a team who are predicted to finish ninth in the Adeccoligaen this season but our struggling in the relegation zone (see last league table screenshot), as you can see they are 'considering' my interest but a deal being finalised in the immediate future were unlikely.

It may not sound overly promising but will I at least get an interview?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hNtZ5z999hrqsyvmvkjxU48LVnGPwr1VxEtMWW6r.jpg

They have offered me an interview that I have obviously accepted and attended as I hope to 'wow' them about why I feel I'm the best candidate for the job, why I had poor squad harmony at my previous employers and other questions that I didn't feel like answering but didn't have a choice because I want a quick return to management.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fdaf8hE8GXmXD4prQcUNaveb31bCYZIpOpxiqk3N.jpg

As soon as I accept the offer, I will be back in football management at Kristiansund and they have offered me a transfer budget of two hundred and forty thousand pounds which I don't think I'd be using as only a few days remain in the transfer window and I don't want to 'panic buy', the are also expecting a mid-table finish and that's doable.

Just like when I was appointed Kvik Halden manager, I've agreed to no philosophies or board requests.

Kristiansund BK: August 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/n8fwzWTY9qNHEfvpsrYtkBm2jcoX6kVMUskcIkwO.png

As soon as I was appointed Kristiansund BK manager I had five days to assemble a staff team (no assistant manager, no scouts) ahead of my first league game which would be at home to Sandefjord who also have appointed a new 'foreign' manager in Brian Deane and it was always going to be a tough start - at least I can't lose nine nil again, could I?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ARxwkxWIqlgmsjwu9zxTgYMhRFdUACF6O4j4lcPf.jpg

I couldn't have asked for a better start in my first game as we defeated Sandefjord five two at home in a game that'll be remembered by Henrik Rolland as the winger scored a hat trick while Jonas Ronningen and Aziz Idris was also on target in the victory.

Next up was my first away game as we made the journey to Nest-Sotra and defeated them three one - Sigurd Koksvik, Jean Alessane Mendy and Lars-Henrik Nass Olsen our goal scorers.

We would then slip to our first defeat under my stewardship, going down 2-0 away to Hodd.

Our final game of August saw us host my former employers Kvik Halden and we easily dispatched of them, winning six nil, goals from Jonas Ronningen, Sigurd Koksvik and Eriend Sivertsen saw us go 3-0 up inside the opening seven minutes, an own goal from Fredrik Borenstien and Jean Alassane Mendy then saw us go into the interval five nil win before Ronningen's second on seventy six minutes ended the scoring.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6zdX2W7Ic6vWj1Dan0l6LW5S4cEzPK2aFwzvSZ5F.jpg

I'm pleased that we're out of the relegation zone and with a six game point buffer as well with just nine games remaining of the league season and the side still look on course for the media's expected ninth place finish but it's still going to be very, very tough as we're in the business end of the season. Kvik Halden look almost doomed for relegation, proving (so far) that I was right to jump ship.

Kristiansund BK: September 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/julf8SDnIAcTNqXJpPEfmPYRwDmuumdHv4UwIl3Z.png

It has been a promising start to life at Kristiansund, winning three games from our opening four as we entered the penultimate month of the campaign as we looked to finish in the position the media had given the club just before pre season and that was ninth. Four games would await us this month and it turned out to be a mixed month full of inconsistency.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YgxJpAIBMnrEe5lSIL8xNocZeXmxYVEzRBmwaGd8.jpg

Our opening fixture of the month was a tough away game against struggling Bodo/Glimt as we suffered a two nil loss on the road.

We then bounced back in style as we defeated Ull/Kisa five one at home as both attacking midfielder Jonas Ronningen and striker Jean Alassane Mendy scored twice after Liridon Kalludra had opened the scoring after only eight minutes, the visitors did finish with ten men but the contest was well over before the sending off.

The inconsistent month would continue as we went down two one away to second placed and promotion contenders Strommen, Sverre Okland scoring our goal on sixty six minutes.

A trip to Fyllingsdalen would conclude the month as a red card would make all the difference, the hosts took the lead early on before having a man sent off just before the break, Andreas Hopmark equalised from the penalty spot before Pavlo Palchykov turned the game around three minutes before, two goals from striker Jean Alassane Mendy sealed the away win.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iPXgGX6zovuc5WXaHNXbTuC6UGrb7A0FyFDgVrGD.jpg

Despite an inconsistent month my Kristiansund side find themselves sitting in tenth place and pretty certain of avoiding relegation which I'm delighted with, unless we end up losing our last five games and results go against us, thus leading to relegation although I doubt that would happen and I would tender my resignation immediately.

Fredrikstad have been the first club to secure promotion, they'll be crowned champions in no time though as they're fourteen points clear of their nearest challengers, Strommen.

Kristiansund BK: October/November 2015

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/X4C0iXASnwA0muAPrGMCb97VYukR6GrSxgv0NUnc.png

With just five league games remaining of the twenty fifteen campaign only an absolute collapse would see my Kristiansund side suffer relegation but I doubt that would even happen but then again, stranger things have happened in football. Four games were played in October and I decided to throw out November's update in this as the season would end on November first.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/J181o6ZHnMcvEVhzpWSV38jg3m8QafglDuf8haEX.jpg

A home clash with seventh placed Sarpsborg started the month of October as we cruised to a shocking six one victory in a game that will be remembered by striker Jean Alassane Mendy who struck a sensational treble, Liridon Kalludra, Eriend Sivertsen and Sigurd Koksvik were also on target as we struck half a dozen goals.

One week later and the side then slipped to a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Alta who won three one, Andreas Rodsand scored our consolation goal with only three minutes remaining.

Bouncing back didn't prove to be a problem as Ranheim were defeated four two in our third consecutive home game, young Russian Ravlo Palchykov, an Ivar Erilen Furu own goal, Jean Alassane Mendy and a late Daouda Bamba strike sealed a four two win as it was impossible for the side to be relegated, much to my delight.

For the second time this month we scored six goals as October concluded with a six two away win at Tromsdalen - goals from Aziz Idris, two from Jean Alassane Mendy, Henrik Rolland and Daouda Bamba saw us lead five goals to nil at half time (iirc) while our sixth goal was scored on seventy five minutes from Pavlo Palchykov.

And the season concluded as once again I got hammered away to Fredrikstad but at least it wasn't nine nil. We found ourselves five goals behind against the champions before Sigurd Koksvik scored twice, the first after fifty seven minutes while the second goal came sixty seconds later, a disappointing end to the campaign but it was a tough away game.

With the twenty fifteen season concluded, Fredrikstad have been crowned champions while Strommen have also been promoted, the four play-off teams will be Sandefjord, Raufoss, Bodo/Glimt and Tromsdalen while Nest-Sotra, Vindbjart, Kvik Halden and Fyllingsdalen have been relegated back to the four second division groups.

I'm satisfied with our ninth placed finish and I'm hoping I can build on that next season and launch a promotion bid.

FINALLY!

It seems I could be getting somewhere as the Kristiansund BK board have authorised me to finally start my coaching badges as I'm looking to get my National C Licence that should take four months to complete, if I'm successful of course and the club are covering the £600 fee for the course. Just annoyed I had to wait until the end of the season, means I'm spending the close season 'studying'. Not cool.

Indeed we did Dan mate and I'm pleased we did as it was an inconsistent end to the campaign, something I'm used too by now. Chuffed I'm finally able to take my coaching badges, all I need to do now is be 'successful' or else.

Cheers simoncoyne, it's still going to be tough and I don't expect promotion.

Especially seeing them get relegated Tommo. just shows I had made the correct jump when I did.

Kristiansund BK: Pre season news

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iG9ijCetRMwGvPYfkKg5jihG9Ed1WOzk6UVyVTtF.png

After guiding my new charges to a ninth place finish after around three months at the helm, I was looking forward to my first full season in charge of Kristiansund and hoped I could guide them to at least a play-off spot. They're predicted to finish the twenty sixteen season in eighth place, one higher than last.

Decided to play it safe this season and told the board that I think we'd finish in the top half this season and that's seen us receive a transfer budget of £230k but I could have been given more and a higher wage budget if I had selected either the 'promotion' or 'title challenge' option but decided not to put needless pressure on the players.

I actually don't think I'll use any of the remaining transfer budget as I've got my business done already and you can only select a twenty five man squad as well, so I needed to be careful when purchasing players.

Four pre season friendly games have been arranged that once again my assistant manager will take charge off, we have two tough home fixtures against Rosenborg and Lillestrom which could show us how far we've come under my short (to date) to reign or how much we'll need to continue to build for the future. We have also arranged away games at Clausenengen and Strindheim.

Kristiansund BK: Pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2eqLAZXOTTVWlXKRNkOSVCVQkKdwQ0ZWKX4zen37.png

As I embarked on my first full season at the helm of Kristiansund, I got my assistant manager to arrange a few friendly games while I was busy myself in the transfer market as I was determined to get my business done as quickly as possible, would be hard though as their was a severe lack of talent available for purchase.

It wasn't ideal pre season preparations on the field but since when did results make a difference? Just the two wins from four games but one of them came against Rosenborg when Simon Tomren struck on sixty six minutes and the other was four zip away to Strindheim, we would be dominated and lose one nil at home to Lillestrom while drawing away to Clausenengen.

Decided to get my transfer business done early as I agreed to sign five players on 'pre contracts' and they arrived on the opening day of the transfer window. Unattached shot stopper Thomas Skjelin, central defender Martin Lundal, right winger Eirik Ulland Andersen, left winger Viijar Olai Vold and attacking midfielder Robin Shroot all arrived.

Just the one departure as Conny Mansson left when his contract had expired.

Not a bad pre season mate! Hopefully your season is a good one!

I certainly hope so Dan as I want to achieve the minimum of a play-off spot and I do think that's realistic, if I fail then I'd probably end up resigning and looking elsewhere in another country for work, but that's a long way away yet, I need to concentrate on Kristiansund and getting some coaching badges under my belt.

Kristiansund BK: April 2016

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YU1fbjidZ4cfpdQuljam6FRmhFRaAcIsRDSWaNAA.png

With a short but mixed pre season behind us it was time for the competitive fixtures to begin and the opening month of the season (April) proved to be a busy month as we played seven games, six in the league and one in the Cupen Cup as I looked to get past the first round for the first time in my managerial tenure - failed twice with Kvik.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WFRQuBudUMKKWCY4ZQmUKm4v40OJBrWeZ4YBUoOa.jpg

The twenty sixteen campaign kick started with a three two defeat away to Sandefjord as new signing Eirik Ulland Andersen scored in either half, it was disappointing to concede three times as I feel we deserved at least a point from the contest but c'est le vie, it's only the opening day.

Three days later we picked up our first three points of the season as Bryne were beaten three one, we fell behind and then the visitors had a man sent off but goals from Robin Shroot and Jean Alassane Mendy had turned the game around before half time iirc before Mendy's second of the game on the hour mark sealed the win.

We then went back on the road and headed to Raufoss as they were defeated four two - Jean Alassane Mendy, two from Sigurd Koksvik and Henrik Rolland the scorers.

It would be three wins on the bounce as Stabaek were beaten four two at our home venue thanks to goals from Jean Alassane Mendy who continued his good start to the campaign, fellow striker Sigurd Koksvik, winger Henrik Rolland and an own goal from Ville Jalasto.

For the first time in my managerial career I managed to guide a side past the first round of the Cupen Cup as two second half goals was enough for a two nil win away to Stryn. The deadlock was broken on fifty two minutes when Sigurd Koksvik found the net before Henrik Rolland doubled the lead nine minutes later.

Our excellent start to the league season continued with a hard fought three two win away to Tromsdalen as we edged a five goal thriller, three two as we needed a goal from Jean Alassane Mendy ten minutes from time to seal the points - Henrik Rolland and Sigurd Koksvik the other scorers on the Sunday evening.

The opening month would conclude with a four two home success (seems a popular score, doesn't it?) over Alta courtesy of four first half goals through Jean Alassane Mendy (who else?), Sigurd Koksvik and two goals from Henrik Rolland but despite the excellent start we actually weren't sitting top come the end of the month.

Bodo/Glimt are the early season pacesetters and have played a game more but that's because of the way the fixtures have fallen (their last game was 30 April) so that's why they've played seven games, same as Stabaek. It's been a promising start to the campaign though as we're scoring goals freely so far - twenty goals in six games but we've already conceded twelve, slightly alarming.

For another first time ever in my managerial career, I have won a Manager of the Month award and I feel it's deserved as we've recovered excellently from an opening day defeat away to Sandefjord, winning all of our other five games and scoring (and conceding) for fun so far, long may that continue because we all love entertainment, don't we? Surprised the Bodo/Glimt manager didn't get it with them top.
