Our form is continuously tripping between fine and then poor, we've not quite had a superb month yet, despite the two game month at the start of my reign. October was here and we faced six more games which we tried to help our title bid.


Unbeaten, thats the good news, but four draws in a six game month really saw us drop a lot of points. We failed to win in the league this month, remained unbeaten in Europe and have advanced in the Cup.

We beat Crvena Zvezda in our European group away from home, winning four nil. Asad netted early on whilst Radanic struck five minutes after the interval and Smola grabbed a late brace with two goals in eleven minutes.

A trip to Slaven Belupo saw us come back late on from one down as Shejbal netted to equalise five minutes from time.

Staying on the road we face Lokomotiva Zagreb who also grabbed a draw against us. Again behind at the break and again we only managed a one all draw thanks to Prpic netting.

In Portugal we faced Porto and drew one a piece with them in the Europa League, a great point. We went ahead after nineteen minutes through an own goal before conceding in the second half.

We then returned home for the first time this month and drew two a piece with Split. We initially went behind before Asad and Dolezal (from the spot) saw us go two one up. We went on to concede though and end with a fourth draw on the bounce.

We finished the month at home welcoming Inter Zapresic in the Hrvatski Kup Second Round who we beat one nil, thanks to Asad netting six minutes in.


Well, we are top nearing the halfway mark of the season and our poor form still sees us top of the table, sitting three points clear of second place Rijeka. Split and Istra 1961 are hot on our heels only four points behind whilst Hajduk in fifth are six points behind.

Suppose those three league draws in a row wasn't ideal but at least you're sitting top of the table and have a three point buffer.You don't seem to be scoring many goals which is a little disappointing I'm sure but I'm sure you'll eventually find some consistency with the wins in the league. Keep going mate.

We are lucky there isn't an 'in form' side in this league this season Shedender otherwise we wouldn't be top, it seems they slip up more than we do at the moment!

A tricky October some how didn't upset our league position, we managed to stay top and have a small but comfortably gap at the top of the pile. But we know we've got to start playing the game I know we can play, the game we started playing at the start of the season, otherwise we'll find ourselves getting over taken.


A bit better thats for sure, just three dropped points in the league as we went on to pick up nine from a possible twelve in November. Continued unbeaten in our Europa League group which is superb for the club and finances. Rijeka appear to be our bogey club as they beat us for a second time.

We began the month at home, welcoming Istra 1961 who we beat three nil. Jurcevic netted a brace, one goal in either half whilst Dolezal netted before the break in between the brace.

A three one home win against a poor Porto side saw us advance and qualify from our group. Radanic netted after two minutes, it was level at the break. Second half Lenard and Ganci both netted for us to secure the three one win.

Another game against Rijeka and another defeat, two games and two defeats against them now. Pedrinho put us ahead but we trailed two one at the break. Radanic levelled three minutes into the second half but we conceded again and crashed to defeat.

Back to winning ways as we travelled to Zagreb who we beat three one. We trailed inside ten minutes before Jurcevic levelled and Dolezal scored a spot kick to send us ahead at the break. Prpic put the result beyond doubt with his goal nine minutes from time.

Our fifth of six games this month saw us grab a late point in Austria as we faced FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League. We trailed the majority of the game until Dolezal levelled from an eighty ninth minute spot kick to earn a draw.

We would go on to end the month at home against Osijek with a three one win. Asad netted in the twenty sixth minute quickly followed up with Radanic making it two nil. He struck again eleven minutes into the second half to secure the three points.


Hopefully its now where we put our foot to the floor and start to press away from the chasing pack. We currently sit just six points clear of second place Hajduk who will want to keep us in sight. We remain the highest goal scorers in the league as well as possessing the tightest defence in the league to date.

Solid as ever so far Dan. May have dropped a few too many points it would have seemed but clearly domestic opposition haven't faired all too well either and some very good European results.

Its strange to see other teams not making the most of where we haven't had a great season in all honesty DP91. We are doing very well in the Europa League!

It seemed our form in Europe was brilliant yet when it came to the league we always managed to come up a little bit short every month. All I was waiting for was that perfect month, December was going to be that short winter month before a couple months break from the competitive fixtures, could we remain strong to see our the year?


And still not a perfect month despite playing just three games this December. A sensational seven one win marks my biggest win here in Croatia, a two all draw with Hajduk but we'd end the calender year with a three nil win during this homely month.

We kicked off December with all cylinders firing as we ran to a seven one win against Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League. We found ourselves three nil up in ten minutes as Barbaric struck twice in eight minutes and Jurcevic made it three nil. Come the break we had a fourth thanks to Asad. Second half Radanic netted our fifth before Jurcevic went on to net two more, the latter to secure his hatrick from a spot kick.

Welcoming Hajduk we didn't do any favours for ourself as we blew a two goal lead at the break to draw two a piece. Jucevic sent us ahead on the thirty third minute before Radanic netted two minutes into injury time. We conceded twice in the second half though, two more points dropped this season.

And the calender year would end with us welcoming Slaven Belupo and recording a win with a rare clean sheet it must be said. Asad netted after eleven minutes before Radanic sent us two up eleven minutes into the second half. Barbaric put the game beyond doubt when he struck twenty one minutes from time.


With sixteen league games to go this season and going into Christmas and New Years we are top of the table and starting to move away now, or at least I hope. We sit six points clear of Hajduk and have a much better goal difference than them due to our free scoring selves whilst we have conceded on average one a game in the league.


Didn't see this coming, I was never expecting us to run to an unbeaten group stage in the Europa League. Admittedly we didn't have the hardest group but Porto were poor against us, they've edged through in second place whilst Crven Zvezda miss out by just four points and surprisingly FC Red Bull Salzburg finish bottom of the group.

Two promising months their mate, the inconsistent form seems to be vanishing and now you're six clear. It's looking good. KIU pal but I still expect you to secure the league title, same way you expect me too.

Into another year, February 2037, I skipped the winter break out of the updates, we ended up playing five friendlies and this saw us win four and lose one. Minor details though. We returned to league action and Europa League action this month with seven games played in twenty two days, big pressure.


Ignore my poor screenshot skills this month, not really sure what happened. Seven games played in twenty two days was definitely a little hectic but we coped despite a blip in the middle of the month. Four wins, one draw and two defeats, progression in the Europa League too, just!

We beat Inter Zapresic to kick start the month as we recorded a three one win. Jurcevic sent us ahead before it was all level at the break. Second half Radanic scorea fine brace to help send us to the three points.

In Europe we faced Viktoria Plzen who we beat comfortably three nil away from home. Asad netted just before the break before making it two nil in the second half. Radanic went on to secure our third twelve minutes from time.

A four four draw came on the road at Split. Not sure what went on in our back line here. Jurcevic netted twice for us with Asad netting one and mikic netting. Disappointed to score four and not win.

We welcomed Viktoria Plzen at home and lost four three, We trailed four nil at the break which was awful. Radanic struck twice with Asad netting one, it was poor but we managed to sneak through. We face Austrian side LASK Linz next round.

Two defeats on the bounce, three without a win as we welcomed Lokomotiva Zagreb and lost out two nil.

We bounced back as we welcomed Hajduk in the Hrvatski Kup Quarter Final, beating them three two. All three of our goals came before the break as Ganci netted after six minutes then Asad struck twice. We conceded twice in the second half and missed two penalties!

We ended the month welcoming Rijeka who we finally beat! We lost twice to them this season but beat them here two one. Jurcevic and Radanic both on the scoresheet for us.


Just twelve league games remaining this season and we now sit seven points clear of second place Hajduk, despite our wailing form in the middle of the month, we move another step closer to the title and another step further away from the chasing pack!

Yes it was a good month TheMazzeRunner, hopefully we can beat LASK Linz!

We are ever so closer to the end of the season with the league and cup still in our views still we were all hoping it could continue. However with the Europa League still in our sights still I was hoping we could really press on. The European competition is obviously still not an aim of ours to win, but the financial incentive is big for the club.


Superb to see our Europa League run continue, two great wins against the Austrian sides. Three league games where we picked up two wins and clean sheets as well as losing the final game of the month. Hajduk didn't put up a fight in the second leg of the cup Quarter Final.

We beat LASK Linz in Austria to start March off in fine fashion. Despite trailing one nil at the break, Radanic went on to net two in ten minutes during the second half to secure the two one away win.

A trip to Istra 1961 saw us win one nil in the league, Radanic again netting this time just fifteen minutes into the game.

Back to back clean sheets came as we welcomed LASK Linz in the Europa League Second Knockout Round, beating them three nil at home. Shjbal netted first before Dolezal made it two nil at the break. Asad netted immediately after the restart to send us three nil up. We will face Spanish side Sevilla in the Quarter Finals.

Three clean sheets on the bounce came as we travelled to Osijek and won two nil. Asad struck two second half goals to help secure the three points.

The Hrvatski Kup Quarter Final second leg was superb as Hajduk barely put up a fight here. We romped to a six one victory as Radanic netted a hatrick, Jurcevic grabbed one as did Pedrinho and Asad who struck the last goal of the game.

We ended the month at home, losing out poorly against Zagrab two nil.


Nine games to go! We can do this! We've now moved ten points clear of Hajduk who remain in second place. Our side have scored the most once again and still conceded the least giving us the best goal diference by far this season!! It shouldn't be long till the league title is secured as long as we don't slip up now.

Into April and no big fancy normal update for me, just literally posting the results, the table and a summary on each rather than a match to match analysis as I don't have the time and wanted to get one more updated posted out before Christmas, heres what happened in April...


A busy April and one we clearly couldn't cope with, we won our opening two games of the month but then went on to fail to win in the remaining six games of the month. We crashed out of the Europa League in the Quarter Final against Sevilla as expected, losing five four on aggregate as we gave a good account for ourselves. We narrowly avoided an upset in the cup as we won the first leg three nil before suffering a two nil defeat second leg. In the cup final we face relegation threatened Zagreb.


Despite our poor month we remain top of the table and still comfortably nine points clear over second place Hajduk. The rest of the pack must be kicking themselves whilst we play poorly and slip up yet still lead by a comfortably gap at the top.

Again with it being Christmas day I've managed to get on but only shortly and only so I can quickly round up this season for you all with us just having one month of football left and the league and cup still up for grabs it was time to see if we could go on and secure a first trophy in Croatia and maybe even a second.


Well, what a month this proved to be, we faced just two home games in the final month of the season and ended up coming out unbeaten with five league games which saw us pick up four wins and a draw, that came against bogey side Rijeka. We played superbly against our feeder side it was two a piece with half an hour to go before we went on to thump them seven two. The Hvatski Kup was also ours, beating Zagreb with a superb double in the second half.


Confirmation of our cup win and our first trophy here in Croatia! Superb for us to go all the way but in truth we had an easy enough run through the competition.


The league title was won easily in the end, pipping second and third place teams Rijeka and Hajduk by fifteen points. Hajduk who had been in second place the majority of the season end in third after their poor goal difference saw Rijeka allowed to finish second. Last seasons champions Split finished down in fourth. Zagreb are in the Europa League next season but facing relegation.

So as the title might suggest it proves its time to depart Dinamo after just a year in charge. With the double secured this season we were just missing out in the super cup here in the top tier of trophies, with the lowest division still needing to be won, but more on this later as I haven't played the super cup for a reason...


So it would appear we've won the Superkup by "default". Due to us winning both the league and cup last season, Croatia doesn't pit us against another side for the Superkup and just claims we win it. This has gone down in Dinamo' history as a cup won, however not on my history. I leave it to you guys whether I count it as 'won' or not, whats your thoughts?


Either way, my time here at Dinamo was done, after three hundred and seventy nine days I've decided to leave the side who are now back as league title holders. We won one league title and one cup competition. Winning thirty eight of our forty three games, drawing sixteen and losing just nine. Along the way we scored one hundred and forty five, conceding sixty two.


My overall career stats as of the 11th July 2037! What a career its been, my first competitive game at my new side will mark my nine hundredth in charge! What a milestone. Of the eight hundred and ninety nine I've taken charge of, I've seen my side win six hundred and eleven (sixty seven percent), draw one hundred and twenty two and lose one hundred and sixty six. Along the way my sides have scored two thousand two hundred and sixty five and conceded one thousand one hundred and sixty four, setting up a goal difference of plus one thousand one hundred and one. I've secured fourteen cup competitions, fourteen league titles and seven promotions, still yet to be relegated! *Probably due to my unloyalty.

Its been only a week to the day since I left my post in Croatia and at Dinamo but already I've attended the one interview and got the job that I saw best in the availability for now. As the title suggests, I'm going to Spain, but which job have I decided to take on, would it be a top tier side or a team to work up from the bottom...


Atletico Madrid, finished second in Liga BBVA last season and yet their manager departed, not suite sure on what terms but it seemed a pretty big club to join.


Obviously my reputation spoke for itself and I impressed enough in the interview to be approached and with a nice offer thats for sure. With a more than healthy transfer budget and wage budget there was no doubting this was likely to be the job for me, another big country and big job awaited!
