Out in Round 3 again after resting key players, shocking.

Until Ashley goes this club will just continue showing 0 ambition. It's quite sad.

That being said, Cabella had a decent game and scored a perfectly good goal - hopefully he'll get in the side over Gouffran/Sammy now Hard to believe that they start ahead of him. Insane.

How do you know he had a good game?

And Ashley has clearly been proven right not to give a shit, as literally a month after reaching the QF of a domestic Cup Competition, it's already been forgotten about...

Quarter final of a league cup doesn't count as ambition

We also fielded a horrendous team and fluked a result against Man City.

And I watched it, pub near mine shows pretty much every game, they've never missed one, even in the Championship.

I hate teams like Reading. Teams like that need to realise there's a good way to defend for a draw and a bad way, that leaves those who pay to watch their constant cheating and moaning frustrated and angry. But, for the second year running, they've come to our place and conned their way into a win with their only shot whilst conducting themselves disgracefully, surrounding the referee, moaning and generally getting away with murder (which is why Jamie Mackie was allowed to stay on until he was subbed off for the eventual matchwinner, despite his multiple bookable fouls when on a booking) while ours get booked for what is actually fuck all (Hogg's second booking, trying to retrieve the ball off their lad who refused to give it to us - his arms go round him reaching for the ball, but bugger me, time to give up if that's a bookable offence).

Add in Town's poor overall performance, two stick-on penalties not being given in the later stages, their lad at the back being an almighty dick and the fact it was a 1-0 defeat to fucking Reading, and you can make it an all-round miserable afternoon. In another shit draw in what is fast becoming a frankly shit competition. We've got one decent home draw in the last 50-odd years, so I may as well stay at home when we draw Bournemouth next year.

It's a decent enough cup run. Which was essentially immediately forgotten, as was being extremely close to a European Semi-Final. Likewise when Dalglish and Gullit were sacked after losing finals. Or when Souness remained universally unpopular despite being deep into two Cup Competitions very deep into the season.

Personally I just don't care anymore. Beaten in the 3rd round or the final, who cares?

And I thought the game was on literally zero TV stations or internet anywhere in the world.

Good win for us today good too see Garfield otherwise known as the ginger messi grab a brace! Looking forward to seeing who we get in the draw! I am glad we rotated the team today as the fringe players stepped up and it was good too see us win without Rhodes and Gestede.

It would appear so.

Riviere was utterly insipid, Vuckic looked anonymous, Armstrong was wasted out wide, and Anita was totally without merit. Only one who seemed to try in the front six was Cabella, and it didn't look as though anyone was on his wavelength. The defence wasn't as bad as it has been recently, and neither was Alnwick, but if this is what life without Sissoko and Perez is like, we're in fucking trouble.

The stupid thing is that if Carver gets the four wins we need to maintain the Premier League cashpile, we're learning nothing at all from the fucking aberration last season descended into.

I went Derby away today with Southport, gutted to lose so late and in a cruel way but that’s football. Penalty in the 92nd minute won Derby the game. We sold out the allocation of 2700, Raya Martin was absolutely outstanding and his loan has ended now so he will be back to Blackburn. All the players were outstanding though and us the fans sang our hearts out.

Cabella apparently lost the plot with Anita at some point during the game, I missed it.

He gave him a simple 5 yard pass and Anita miscontrolled the ball under no pressure at all.

I watched the highlights and Raya looked brilliant! He is highly rated by our coaches but he hasen't been given much of a chance yet other than a couple of friendlies he will probably not ever playing for us which is a shame. It would be good for us to loan him back to you.

United: De Gea, Smalling, McNair, Blackett, Rafael, Fletcher, Herrera, Rooney, Shaw, Wilson, Falcao.
Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Anderson, Lingard, Mata, Januzaj, Di Maria.

Not bad. Anderson is alive.

Must be some serious attitude problem with the players at Sheffield Utd, can get up for the cup games fine but still pretty shite in the league for some reason.

Fletcher and Savage absolutely wanking themselves raw over Pardew and Palace as if they were the fucking underdogs throughout that match.

What a shite commentary team, sums up BT's football personnel really, except Jake Humphrey, please leave Jake before it's too late!

Haha, yeah I'm dreading it.

Handball or not, he said McNair 'slammed it' to the ground. It hit his elbow, not exactly 'slamming'.

Sheffield United only exist for cup competitions nowadays

It not about attitude, or that we only exist for cups, its basically the case of tactics.

When we play "big" teams, Premier League teams we have freedom, as them clubs attack opening space, we sit back and counter them spaces, in the League its the opposite we are the big team in the division with 20k attendances at home, so teams come to us to do what we do to big teams, but Clough with his amazingly stupid tactics makes us shut up shop and play them at there own game, so then its a defensive team vs a defensive team meaning its gonna finish in a draw a narrow win or a narrow loss. Either way, its a very inconsistent style of football.

If, and i mean a big if he gets us into the Championship, i have no doubt in my mind that he would keep us up, getting up will be the problem.

Also, Clough made the players walk around the stadium (outside) before the game too to take in the atmosphere.
