Sky Sports are being retarded saying Sepp's been rattled, saying it'll be close etc. The guy was 7 votes of the majority, there's going to be a maximum swing of like 10 votes, he's going to be president either way.

Platini would be a million times worse than Blatter. He's as corrupt as they come

But it's possible that he'll ride this wave of Blatter hate and use it to his advantage, isn't it? Regardless of his corruptibility.

The problem is that although Western Europe and North America are crying foul, Blatter has been very good at working the developing world. The fact he has such a high level of support in Africa, parts of Asia and South America meant he has a lot with him and the stakes are tipped against the challenger unless he can find a way to get those nations on his side.

I do accept that FIFA has done good things in creating/helping programmes out there and making them feel a part of proceedings. An ethical FIFA should be doing that regardless, but this is coming with a stench of backhanders, collusion and the lot. Also, if Blatter didn't know a lot of his confidants weren't potentially dodgy, then he must be fucking passive as shit.

I don't think Blatter's really done very much for Asian and African football at all he's just been lucky.

It's just so happened that his presidency has co-incided with a period where the amount of money in football has exploded. That money would have trickled through to Asia and Africa regardless of who was in charge but because it happens to have been him
then he gets shit loads of credit for it.

Blatter to Swiss TV on Friday: "Why would I step down? That would mean I recognise that I did wrong."

Hmm.

A claim appeared in the Sunday Times this morning that Morocco won the ExCo vote to host the 2010 World Cup ahead of South Africa and FIFA rigged the public declaration.

That would turbo-charge the entire investigation if it was true.

Won't happen.

If they take the World Cup off both nations, they will both appeal, it'll go to the Swiss high court but before it gets there the bids will still stand during the appeal proces, and the arguement will be the money they've spent on the stadiums etc. Not only that but to take the World Cup off Russia for 2018 would be way too late to find another host anyway as the decision on stripping the current nations wouldn't take place till middle-late of 2016, meaning less than 2 years before the world cup starts.

The draw for 2018 is less than 2months away, too.
