If any of you are into sports documentaries, Red Army is one of the best I've ever seen.

Went to see Jurassic World. Really enjoyed it but how the fuck Ron Howard produced Bryce Dallas Howard is amazing

Just got back from watching jurassic world, great film but a bit predictable in too many places! However I'd still go watch it again!

They also advertised a true story movie of a group of guys climbing everest when a storm hit, looks a superb film!

Has there ever been a film that looks better than Blade Runner?

Seen Mad Max: Fury Road and Ted 2 in the last few days.

The former was a very impressive film that has a great dynamic. Charlize Theron's character was really badass. As for Ted 2, I was expecting it to be awful after I didn't like the trailers, but it surprised me and I laughed quite a fair amount. Not as much as during the first one, but enough to make it worth it.

Watched Ted 2 last night! Thought its story wasn't the greatest, basically went round in a massive loop! However it was funny!

Saw three movies on DVD today.

Reservoir Dogs was excellent, This is Spinal Tap was pretty good, and Top Gun was reasonably entertaining, if a bit daft when we weren't playing with the planes.

Just watched To Live and Die in L.A., a really stylish 80s action-thriller starring a young Willem Dafoe and William Petersen's penis.

I just watched The Act of Killing and I am still struggling to accept that it is in fact a real documentary film about real people, because it is by far the most surreal thing I have ever seen.

A documentary film where the perpetrators of a mass killing proudly re-enact how they raped, stabbed and strangled thousands of "communists" and ethnic Chinese, crimes that they are celebrated rather than punished for.

Ant-Man

Very odd film. Enjoyable in the moment, and refreshing to see a superhero film not about a demi-god (or bunch of them) saving the world, but maybe superhero fatigue is catching up with me because it wasn't as good as it could've been.

Pixels. I usually hate Adam Sandler films post 2000 but I loved it. Ten times better than the trailer suggests. I'd like to see Sandler try some serious roles again. Reign Over Me was awesome.

It was fantastic. I've a couple of Indonesian friends who can tell me their parents have witnessed this first-hand. I can't remember if this was mentioned in the movie, but many ethnic Chinese families changed their Chinese-sounding surnames to Bahasa-ish ones to avoid persecution, like "Zhang" to "Cahya", "Ang" to "Ariyanto", "Ng" to "Ngadi".

Just watched Adaptation. I didn't know Cage could pull off two convincing performances, let alone one.

Was off work ill yesterday so watched Southpaw and Straight Outta Compton instead. Both good. Jake whats his face is good in Southpaw. Straight Outta Compton was a good watch without being outstanding.

Just watched The Angriest Man in Brooklyn which made me sad and miss Robin Williams but also made me happy and fall in love with Mila Kunis more.

I'm torn.

The Martian

Relatively small stakes in comparison with most contemporary sci-fi, but quite offbeat and pretty entertaining. Plus Damon is pretty cool and I also liked Jeff Daniels' grouchy administrator in the background.

And Joseph Gordon-Levitt with a French accent is incredibly annoying for some reason.

Spectre - Really enjoyed it. One of the best Bonds if not the best. (I slightly preferred Casino Royale!)

I really hope that Daniel Craig decides to do another couple of movies as it won't be the same without him. He has really changed Bond and made better, relevant and believable.

If it is to be his last though a fantastic way to end.

Spectre

Not perfect, but entertaining.

Needed more Waltz in my view, and also Andrew Scott could've been used more, but I did think Lea Seydoux was great in her role, and it also felt to me Craig's character had more confidence. Contrary to other viewers, the plot made sense to me, and had some amusing parallels with the current proposals on government surveillance, and the Mexico City sequence at the start was terrific.

Shame the theme song is fucking dire.
