Hi guys,
welcome back to my Manchester Utd rebuild using Ten Hag 4-2-3-1 after making some adjustements,
In this video I show you how my first 3 months (until December 31st 2023) went. We are currently dominating the English Premier League with 48 points, (15 won, 3 draw, 1 lost), we have the best attack with 49 goals scored over 19 matches and the third best defense with only 15 goals allowed. Hojlund and Rashford scored 8 goals but this is not enough to match with Haaland who scored already 15 goals. We score 2,58 goals per game and conceed only 0.79, we are the best also for crosses completed and second for chances created and first for shots on target ratio (51%).,
In Champions League, we finished 1st in our group against Galatasaray, Barcelona and Milan (14 points, 4won, 2 draw 0 lost, 16 goals scored and 6 allowed), we won once and draw once against Barcelona (3-3- away and 1-0 home) and Galatasaray (5-1 home and 2-2 away) and won twice against Milan (1-0 away, 4-0 home). In the match highlights you can see the key highlights of the two matches against Barcelona.
In the first game, you will see that we still struggle to build from the back as the Red Devils do in reality because Onana often is forced to try long balls when he or the two central defenders or the wing-backs are pressed, and sometimes one of the 4 defenders makes wrong passes conceeding a great scoring chance to the opponent. This happened in our first matches in Premier League too, especially in the last minutes, and it was because my players had not learnt my tactic well. But in the second match against Barcelona which I won 1-0, you will see our building from the back is more fluid, with Casemiro also dropping down to help and the two wingers dropping down when the wing-backs have the ball and they are under pressure, to give them a passing opportunity, besides, our BPM often moves forward with the ball and our wing-backs are very high and this is in my opinion what Ten Hag should look for, a more attacking formation to press the opponent in their half, something like what Manchester City does when building from the back. This is my attempt to emulate Erik Ten Hag's tactics and to fix what does not work and if in my first season things work well (and it seems they are working well for now), at the end of the first season I will post a video with my final tactic, now I am thinking about some adjustments but I need to see how it works.
This is all for my video, hope you like it
