Dragocen - Comments

I haven't been able to play this as much but its been decent so far and we're still aiming for playoffs! I am enjoying Maidstone with my day trips to London, it'll be a shame when we need to move back out of England. We also bagged our Continental A Licence






We've had some bad patches but overall its been decent with our best match being 6-0 battering of Halifax Town but lets begin at the start. We didn't start the season that well against Boston Utd where it was quite a even game but in our defence Boston where predicted to finish 3rd. We then went on to face a decent Barnet side who we cleared the floor with, after playing the team predicted to finish 3rd two games ago we went to Crawley who were predicted to finish 2nd so there was no break for us! it ended up being a even game but unlike vs Boston we managed to grab a draw away from home. We finished the month unbeaten against below-par teams, even though two of them being poor draws vs Chorley and Sutton United. We got a surprise when we travelled to Dover where we got dominated but we bounced back with a draw against a decent Wycombe side then a 3-0 win against rivals Ebbsfleetand the previously mentioned 6-0. October was a busy month with us playing 8 matches, a routine month for us tbh.

In the FA Cup we cut our run a bit short but we started our run vs Varanarma South team Welling Utd who made us go to a replay but we squeezed by and then we got at the time high flyers Wycombe who we beat but then we got drawn against Shrewsbury who sat 2nd in League Two which was a challenge but I think we held our own and did ourselves proud.





We sit 4 points in the playoffs in the final spot and I think we're starting to cement our place in the playoffs

Its been a great pre-season with us starting it being predicted to finish 18th but now at the end of the pre-season predicted to finish one place outside the playoffs!

And just like that we have finished our first season in Maidstone but there is one major concern which is when I'm writing this my contract ends in a month but because of the poor financial position they can't offer me a contract! But we are now affiliated with West Brom!





We have made two transfers after our affiliation with West Brom. We brought in striker Alan Smith who ended up being our star striker and we brought in a backup keeper in Kyle Gutteridge!

I have to be honest normally I do notes on the games but I forgot but as you can see we had large amounts of draws and wins but our worse game was us losing to Varanarma North team Basford who scored the 2 goals with their only 2 shots on target...




We escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth, it was tight but I consider that a big success!




My player of the year

Alan Smith - he came in on loan with interest from other clubs and after starting 15 games he got 10 goals, with 3 of them being 90th minute winners. Truly amazing



Maidstone United End of Season Awards

That's right the club that payed £1.4k for me was Varanarma National side Maidstone United. Maidstone has been struggling in Englands 5th tier. I had interviews with: League One side Morcambe who ended up getting John Terry! And Wycombe who are also in our league but Maidstone ended up giving me the job!

They have offered me a £1.1k wage (my previous wage was £150!) and i will join immediately





Maidstone United are a Proffesional club that were founded in 1992 after being forced out the football league due to bankruptcy, before their bankruptcy Maidstone had won the Varanarma National League twice. And obviously they have won a fair lot of lower league titles after their bankruptcy.

They play their games at the Gallagher Stadium which is a 4,200 (720 seated) stadium which was built only in 2012! They have Basic Youth Facilities and Basic Training Facilities






We have a very small squad compared to Llantwit Major. The game says our key player is midfielder Matthew Smith who came through the Arsenal academy where he made his debut in the Carabao Cup. But in terms of average rating Fulham academy graduate Zico Asare who's a Ghanaian centre-half who has already played 91 games for us in 3 season after he joined from Wigan.

As you can see there's a lot of red but after beating Paulton Rovers in the FA Trophy we are still in that competition but unfortunately we are out the FA Cup after losing to Varanarma South side Kingstonian after a replay.

Its no exaggeration that we have played terrible this season as we sit bottom of the league, the board are actually happy with me so far this season but I'm not enjoying it now and at the end of the day its a game so if i'm not enjoying it I think it was the good time to leave so I applied to jobs and someone has payed £1.4k to get me in! On a personal level we have completed our Continental B Licence and are now studying for our Continental A Licence.

Welcome back and we have been busy in the preparations for our first ever Premier League season. But just after I posted the last update I got the news that we were moving stadium because our current stadium, The Windmill Ground, did not meet the requirements so we are now sharing Barry Town's stadium, Jenner Park. Our reputation has also grew by quite a lot after winning the title.




Transfers
We have brought in quite a lot of players as I noticed that we had quite a poor squad for the division above. The first person through the door was young left back Oliver Edwards who would provide backup to Owen, then I brought in Dylan Salmon who will play in our under 19s this one is more for the future and as we are now in a youth league I should be able to develop more younger players. I did notice as good as Wood was last season he didn't have enough going forward so to rotate with him I have brought in Daniel Alfei who has played in the Championship for Swansea and Portsmouth! And as Edwards retired we needed some defensive midfielders so I brought in Richard Davies on loan from Haverfordwest and Sean Rowlands from Aberdare. One of the weaker players in our XI last season was Wharton so I thought to bring in a new box to box midfielder and thats when I found Paulo Mendes who is a experienced Portuguese midfielder who started his career in Portugal but then came to England and played in the National North and most recently he played for Aberystwyth under Shane Long. If you read through my previous updates you can see that I complained about our defence a lot so iv'e brought in two new centre half's, Andrew Thomas and Daniel Price, Thomas has played fro Newtown for all of his career but was released this season and would be one of our starting centre backs but got injured in pre-season for 6 to 7 weeks. The other centre half is Daniel Price who also came through the Newtown academy but left on a free to Bala Town and won the JD Cymru North.]

Friendlies


Results wise this was a terrible pre-season but in financial terms it was great as we played football league sides like Bristol Rovers, Newport County, Luton Town, Charlton as well as Leicester's U23s and Wycombe. Just from the Money League alone we made 34k from gate receipts and in total we received 62k in gate receipts and if you take away the expenses of these friendlies and also add on match day income we made 15k which considering our total balance before this was around 2k and it now sits at 20k thats great and in my opinion the games we should have won we did

Welcome back to Llantwit Major! Its been a great season as you will see but on a manager level its been good as well as we are now studying for our Continental B Licence as well as signing a new contract which will go to the end of the 2025/26 and winning 3 manager of the month awards as well as the manager of the year!#

As you can see our form was outstanding towards the back end of the season with us only losing a embarrassing game vs Cwmbran Celtic But there was one more game to play with the title going down to the final day as we sat one point clear at the top from second placed Llanelli Town, all we needed to do was to beat Briton Ferry who were still in for the chance to be relegated or we could risk losing but so Llanelli Town would have to as well.

Thats right we did it! thanks to a goal in the 21st minute from Gavin Jones we scraped a victory and won the title on the final day! I couldn't have been happier and now we have to continue this form into next season where i will be aiming for around mid-table.

The Squad!


The depth has been immense in this squad but I think its only fair that we talk about JD Cyrmu South Goal Of The Year, Player Of The Year and Top Goalscorer Phil Rees who scored 32 goals and got 8 assists in 31 games which is insane, he has definitely been the best player ive had at any club so far this save! But I think a special mention needs to be said for Tomos Hope and Ryan Edwards, Tomos Hope was in the contention for Young Player Of The Year with his 7 goals and 12 assists in 30 games and in my opinion was unlucky to not win it but also Ryan Edwards who is retiring now but has been quite good for us, with him ranking 5th on average ratings and its gonna be hard finding people to replace him.

I'm halfway through my first full season and its safe to say things are going alright attacking but terrible defensively but i've got a feeling I can go far with Llantwit

Fixtures


As you see we have only lost one league game which is great! We started the season with a draw vs Ton Petre but then I thought this might be another bad season with us only edging a win vs a extremely bad West End side, after a couple of draws I felt a loss was coming and I thought it might come against top of the league Llanelli Town when we went 1-0 down but then Butler got us back in the game and Phil Rees puts us ahead unfortunately we were unable to hang onto the win with them getting a equaliser later on. Straight after I saw that the manager for the team we were about to play (Penybont) is Richard Keogh who after being sacked by Derby County went to manage in Wales! They went on to score two of the worst goals iv'e seen this FM with scrabbles on the line from corners... Then we had by far our most entertaining game for the neutral vs Penrhycoch who went 1-0 in the first minute, we went on to go 3-1 down but we managed to bring it back to 3-3 but they got the win after a thriller of a game. We had another high scoring goal VS Pontypridd where to be honest our defence was cr*p.

As you can see we went a little far in the Welsh Cup with us beating divison 3 sides Taffs Well and Aberbargoed (who we struggled way to much against) but the cup run got cuit short vs Newtown who were sitting in the relegation spots in the top divison, we went 2-0 down after 18 minutes but we managed to claw it back to 2-2 and then to 3-3 but then for some reason our defence crumbled and we lost 6-3...

As you can see its quite tight up at the top with us being 4 points off top and being in 5th placed dispite only losing once..

The Squad


In attack our squad as been amazing mainly due to Phil Rees who we signed towards the end of last season, he was injured for a couple of games but has still managed to get 16 goals and 5 assists in 16 games this season which is insane. Our second highest scoring is Jay Butler who only has 5 finishing but somehow always scores!

And my first pre-season in Wales is over and I think my squad is ready to challenge for promotion, unfortunately we are out of the Welsh League Cup but we got got 15k in gate receipts from the friendlies which has got the club out of debt!

We brought in 4 players which is what I felt we needed with a already massive squad.

The first p[layer was Matthew Owen who's a young left back that has yet to play a professional but will probably be our first choice left back. I then signed a young player in Stuart Jones who will rotate with Gavin Jones, he played for Airbus UK last season and so did our new goalkeeper Matty Murray who will rotate with Alex Morris who came from the youth intake in April. Our final signing is Right back Sam Wood from Llanidloes where he played 48 games despite only being 19.

Friendlies/Welsh league cup


Our pre-season friendlies were decent except for the league which was to be expected, some might argue that the 'Money League' was cheating but its in the game and i've seen teams host their own tournaments before so why can't we?

And in the cup we gabe away a 87th min pen and played terrible

Well its been a challenging start in Wales with me not having a assistant manager till the last 2 games which ment I had to rely on people offering themselves to me and had no star ratings and dont know how good people played positions. But other than that its been a decent start with us placing the foundations for a good team! I have extend my £150 contract till the end of next season and it seems the board are pleased with me!

As I said was quite limited on the players I could bring in but in my first few weeks I brought in experienced midfielder Ryan Edwards and Tomos Hope on free transfers who both went on to be key players for us and then towards the end we brought in Phil Rees who was incredible and scored 5 goals in 3 games!

I was unable to fit in my first game for Llantwit Major but we drew 1-1 to Swansea University where Alex Reynolds opened the scoring with a 30 yard free-kick! We then played 3rd placed Ton Petre where we edged a 1-0 win by another free-kick goal this time by Ray Mathias but then we had to play top of the table Penrhyncoch where if i'm honest we got dominated but still had a couple of good chances. We then enjoyed a win vs Goytre United but then we had 2 disappointing losses against Cambrian & Clydach and Ammanford. Gavin Jones then started his good form against Taffs Well. We got a great result vs Pontypridd when we won 4-0 mostly thanks to Josh Hogson who got a brace and a assist. We played some of our best football vs Carmathen Town but were unfortunate to draw after a 90th minute goal. March wasn't our best month with us drawing to Aberdare and losing against Swansea Uni who were both relegation spots. But we ended the season with a bang in April when we went 3-1 down and won 4-3 thanks to a debut hat-trick from Phil Rees and a wonder goal for the equaliser from Michael Kennedy, to follow on from the great win we had to play 2nd placed Penrhycoch where we helped Port Talbort win the league as we went 2-0 but then we blew it and they levelled it to 2-2 but fortunately Alex Reynolds poked home the winner. Not only did we stop a team from winning the title we relegated Goytre United after going 1-0 down

Squad Update

And well after about half a month out I have returned to the United Kingdom with JD Cymru South side Llantwit Major! After selling my house in Croatia and wanting to move as far away as possible after 3 Trophyless seasons I looked for a job and got two offers one from a Slovenia Second Division side and one for Llantwit Major and due to their decent finances I picked the Windmill Army!

Thought it might have to be stated that @tongey did also go to the Welsh leagues quite earlier but they were the best fit and I apologise if it looks like i'm copying


The Club


Llantwit Major are a Semi-Professional club who were formed in 1962 in the town of Llantwit Major which is 14 miles out from the Welsh capital Cardiff. Their home ground is The Windmill Ground which seats 950 and is shared with a Cricket Team. They do have poor facilities but have decent finances with us having a spare 1.3k on the wage bill!

They have won a total 9 titles from lower divisions in the Welsh pyramid, they have also won 6 cups from the lower divisons.

Squad Overview


Just like Podravac this is a decently young squad, I cant see star ratings at the moment as there is 0 staff but the game says my Key Player is attacking midfielder Michael Kennedyhe's only played 2 seasons of professional football despite being 24 but one of the season stands out with him playing 25 games for Aberystwyth Town in the Welsh Premier League in that season he also won the Welsh Cup!



Season So Far!




We currently sit 8th placed with not a bad set of results considering our 3 losses came against 2nd placed Port Talbot Town , 4th placed Carmarthen Town and 6th placed Pontypridd

We did exit the Welsh League Cup early as Penybont beat us 2-0 but after wins against West End and Goytre United we are still in the Welsh Cup and we look to play Ton Pentre in the next round

Two things, sorry I compleatly forgot to pos tthe pre-season post, luckily nothing really happend, and also I forgot to mention that I'm playing with a equal youth database so if you see players from weird nations thats why! But its sad to report that my time in Croatia is over and I have resigned... I was just getting annoyed with every game and cant see us wining the title this season, anyway lets see how this season has gone so far...

The results are the main reason I left we were getting smashed by sub-par teams like NK Dugo Polja, NK Karlovac and Urania and only slightly winning against the most poor teams in our league.

Well the form did improve but i'm still decided whether to stay or not... but we did managed to get a affiliate, them being top division side NK Osijek who will be able to send us players on loan and will pay us £9.51k per season which will help a bit. In other news I hit 100 games in management!

Two players have left the club and they are our two main fullbacks Petar Arap and Predgrag Biasol who for some reason wanted to leave and go to the fourth division on free transfers... And as said in the last post I was unable to bring in anyone to replace them thanks to the board.

As you can see we cut out most of the draws and got more wins on the table! We enjoyed two good wins against Rudar MS and Granicar Djurdjevac where we won 5-1 and 4-2 with Shefqet Ahmeti getting a brace in both games. We then suffered a 1-0 defeat to top of the table Kamen which damped our hopes for the title but then we bounced back with a 4-1 win vs Urania with Shefqet Ahmeti getting another brace and Dino Cmrecnjak getting back on the score sheet and Duje Mrdesa scoring in the 97th minute! We then beat Varteks 4-1 with Mrdesa getting the quickest goal in the clubs history and Dino Cmrecnjak grabbing a hat-trick! And with the final 5 games it was crunch time, for us to win the title with realistically had to win every game and that nearlyt happend with us beating 4th placed Bjelover as well as 5th placed Zagora but then it came down to the last game of the season with us, Podravina and Kamen all able to get promoted with us placed 3rd we needed both the other teams to lose and Kamen just needed to win as they were top of the table, Kamen lost to Urania but Podravina won 2-1 against Koprivica but it didn't matter anyway as after going 1-0 up we lost to Polet SMnM 2-1 due to a 69th minute own goal and a 93rd minute penalty...

Well its been a hard time here at Podrevec with the board selling our best player against my will and no longer allowing me to buy players, i've had my mouse over the resign button a number of times and now i'm applying for jobs but the board still like my performances at least... Lukic who was the cog in our midfield last season has left for Inter Zapresic for my record sell of £7.75k, I would of kept him but the board needs the money so they auto accepted the offer and no longer allow me to make signings with a wage

You might be thinking 'Dragocen you only lost one league game why yo stressing?' well its all those draws, we have drawn more games than we have won and against some pretty mediocre teams... We started the season with a good defensive performance versus Rudar MS but we also failed to find the back of the net, we also missed a 1 on 1 (you can say that for every game now). But then we found our goalscoring form against Mladost Zdralovi our first goal of the season was a Ahmeti free-kick where he tucked it away from the edge of the box, the second goal was a set piece where new signing Prelcec put away a penalty, Ivan Gelo wrapped up the game when he hit the crossbar in a 1v1 but then tucked away the rebound. We then continued our run of bad form vs Podravina and had 2 draws vs the two teams on the complete different sides of the table. After a one year break we played Varteks again after they were promoted and Ahmeti showed his form with a hat-trick! The two other noticeable matches was our 3-1 victory vs Koprivnica who led the league for most of the season last season but surprisingly sat bottom of the table. And the most resent match I opted to change to a no striker formation due to all of our strikers bottling 1v1s and most of the time our wingers berry them, it worked out as well with both wingers Cmrenjak and Ahmeti scoring to secure a 2-1 win over 4th placed Polet SMnM.

We didn't get anywhere in the cup as we were beat 2-1 Oriolik which I guess gives up time to focus on drawing in the league...

League Table


Currently Kamen lead the league by a bit with them still unbeaten but that being said us in 4th placed have only lost one, there's just been a lot of draws. The good thing is that our goal difference is looking a lot more healthy than last season, even though head to head does come first. We currently sit 11 points off the top spot which is quite the mountain to climb, wish us luck!

Squad Update


Nikola Prelec has had a instant impact as I expected, even though the fans didn't approve, but as always Marijo Bozak has stole the show with him bailing in our sh*t defensive so many times and if I had to pick one player to take with me it would be him. But Shefqet Ahmeti has to get a mention since he's joint top goalscorer in the league despite going through a injury, shame he could have scored 5 more though if he could header.

Next Update - End of the 22/23 season

First of all I thought i'd put it out there that I was very deflated after a poor end to the season but i'm back 2 hours later at 3am and i'm feeling more hopeful with 4 key signings and I've now assessed the squad and made some new tactics, only bad thing that has happend is that due to the clubs debt I dont think i'll be able to get another coaching licence whilst at the club...

I picked out 3 key positions for us to get, DL, DR and MC and we got them all on frees, I did try to get Oliver Tochukwu who was great in Ghana but he rejected our contract, hes still available on a free so you never know! Deni Erceg is the first through the door, he's a DR who can also play DC he is a bit old for our squad so i'm hoping he can bring a bit of experience to the squad! Next we picked up a player who is in my opinion a gem in Pedrag Biasiol who can play either fullback to a good standard and is well rounded. But the Podravac faithful were rather unhappy with my signing of Nikola Prelcec who has played at the highest level in Croatia and has also played in Italy and Macedonia ! The last through the door is winger Mrdesa who can play across the attack and will provide backup on either wing

This is not really how I wanted it to go.... We bottled promotion and the clubs in £133k debt but at least I have my Continental C Licence ! I will probably stay for the next season but keep a keen eye on the Job Centre...

A little update of our ex side Dreams FC - They won the Ghanaian Cup!

We keeped having people getting snatched (most of them backups) so there's been a lot of chop and change this season! First our top goalscorer from last season Leon Martincevic left for Visnjevac in the fourth division! We had to replace him as the attack hasn't been our strong point this season so I brought in Ivan Gelo who scored twelve in the same division as us last season, we had two more people leave us though: Marco Milas left for fourth division Vuteks which resulted in us not having a backup keeper and Miljenko Kanizaj who was a backup DC left for a first team role at Sloga Gredelj Gelo didn't get off the start I wanted so I brought in some competition with Miran Veceric coming in on a non-contract

As you can see our form dropped off towards the end with the turning point being when we got battered by our boggy team Vodice after that point we didn't win a single game and neither really did the teams above us which annoys me as if we could just put the ball in the net we could have got promoted!!

Next Update - 22/23 Pre-Season

So we are half way through our first full season and the league looks still quite close! I have managed to negotiate my way into studying for my Continental C Licence but the club is also in heavy debt, at least I now know basic Croatian! But there has been rumours of a takeover, the board have denied them though

We had a amazing start to the season as we went unbeaten for the first 2 months with Bozak keeping 3 clean sheets and only conceding a maximum of 1 goal in the remaining of the matches, I can't remember where the teams were at the time but the best result from the opening 2 months is our tight 1-0 win against now 4th placed Podravina when midfielder Miran Lukic grabbed a 93rd minute winner, we also managed to grab a 1-1 draw to top of the table Vinogradar Jesrebarsko and also a 1-0 win against 2nd placed Bjelovar where Ranogajec scored a 30 yard free-kick to secure the win! We have to be disappointed with the month of September though with us losing 5-1 to Vodice and 3-0 to Polet SMnM, It seems we are struggling to score goals though!

We only got to the first round of the Nogometni kup after winning 2-1 against league rivals Polet SMnM but then we faced 2nd division side NK Sesvete who sit 4th in the league, we actually managed to 1-0 up in the first minute due to a Miran Lukic banger but unfortunately their striker Geljic grabbed a hat-trick with him scoring in the 85th and 93rd minute to grab the two winning goals for the side.

We sit much lower down then I aimed for (I Ideally wanted to be in the top 4 places) but we only sit a single point away from that, shame we have a terrible goal difference thanks to our lack of goal scoring ability... Koprivnica currently sit top of the table, lets hope we can catch them by the end of the season!

Next Update - End of the 2021/2022 Season

So its time to start our first full season in Croatia but their seems to be a slight issue with us wanting to build on our squad, we have little to no wage budget with us being in debt, lets see if I get sacked for not being able to maintain the wage budget!

Transfers!

As I've just said I had no budget so I've been forced to only make two signings which is are Leon Martincevic who signed a non-contract and will be our starting striker, there's one standout quality with him that being him being a 19 year old who is 6 foot 6! After Hrvoj leaving after his loan I had to replace him and I found Lovro Sestan who most recently played for Bjelovar. People have been bidding for our players throughout all of pre-season but I have rejected all of them except one (also let two people go on frees but they were just backups) who was Goran Juric who only scored twice in 27 games for usand was one of the few on a actually contract so I sold him to 2nd Division side NK Rudeš for a measly £210 so I could get him off of the wage budget.

Next Update - Mid-Season

Welcome back to the end of season three!Its safe to say that things have been getting better and better as the season went on after a rocky start to our time in Virje. I have completed my National A Licence but sadly the board haven't allowed me to get the Continental C Licence at this time, but we are here for another season with us signing a new contract worth the same amount of our original contract but it lasts till the next season.




Transfers

So as mentioned before changes had to be made so I brung in four players on free transfers, first we brought in Marco Milas as a back up keeper/ competition for Bozak. We then brought in Sinsa Jazvic who after we brought in we found out that you can not play for two different teams in the same league in the same season so he will be a key player for the coming season. We were leaking shots so I needed to bring in defenders and that was original Jazvic but then I found Bruno Povoljnjak who became a key player towards the end of the season, the final player I brought in Marijan Ranogajec who's a decent left winger who provides backup to Cmrecnjak

Fixtures


We came in with 8 games left to play and our only job was to survive relegation and we did It with 3 games to spare! We started our time in Croatia with a win against Polet SMnM which we came behind from 2-1 to win 3-2 due to a 91st minute goal from Dino Cmrecnjak, a great way to start! But then I started to worry with two consecutive 1-0 defeats to the hands of Orahovica and Podravina But then our form really picked up with a 2-2 draw against at the time fourth placed Bjelovar despite our defender Vukman getting sent off in the 14th minute. Cmrecnjak continued his good for to get us a tight 1-0 win against Virovitica and also getting a brace against Granicar Djurdjevac which sent them into a relegation battle! Then we had by far our craziest win which came against Mladost Zdralovi who were placed 2nd and battling for the title they dominated in stats but we managed to hang on after two early goals. We then got a rather unlucky draw in our final game of the season against Rudar MS who only had 3 shots on target and scored 2 of them, one of them being in the 90th minute. At least Vrbanic found his goalscoring form!

And we managed to rescue our season with us moving up 2 positions since I've joined with us ending up 18 points off of relegation which I think is quite good after how we were when I joined.

The Squad


After highlighting Ivan Hrvoj as our key man for the season he ended up getting suspended and when he did play he didn't do much, the other player we highlighted was Albanian Shefqet who was decent but the other winger Dino Cmrecnjak stole the show with him getting 6 goals in the 6 games he played under me! As I've mentioned earlier we were leaking shots so a lot of praise goes to Marijo Bozak who keeped us in most of the games.

Next Update - 21/22 Pre-Season

After leaving Dreams FC, I immediately started to search for jobs and I faced many, many rejections from a whole range of clubs and after the first month I started to contemplate going back to Africa or go to North America even though I wanted to go into Europe but finally after a couple of interviews and thousands of rejected applications I was approached by NK Podravac and Varteks who sit in the two bottom positions in the Croatian third tier and I decided the team 7 points off bottom, NK Podravac.

I've signed a contract worth £675 p/w which only lasts 6 months but hopefully i'll be here for much longer! Hopefully I plan to get promoted, which is going to be a hard task as you have to finish top of the division as its split into regions and perhaps getting into the top division, depending on how things go.

Club Overview

NK Podravac is a semi-professional club based in the northern village of Virje and play in the Treća HNL - North, the third division of Croatian football, their home games are played at the Sportski park Podravac which has a modest capacity of 1.500 (google says its 3,000 but football manager disagrees). The facilities are poor but we may look to improve them whilst at the club like we did whilst at Dreams FC.

They only have one trophy to their name which is the league we currently sit in which they won in 2001, lets hope we can do it again!

The Squad


We have a very young squad with just over half of the squad being below 21, I'm going to try and make some additions to the squad which I will update you on the transfers in the next update but for now we will have to work with what we've got,

Our best player seems to be 16 year old loanee Ivan Hrvoj who is a defensive midfielder who is on loan from Second Division side Dubrava. In terms of players that will be here permanently our best player is 19 year old Albanian winger Shefqet Ahmeti I will probably plan a team around him as I will be using a similar system to what I used at Dreams FC which heavily relied on the wingers.




Competitions

We still have 7 games left to play and all we need to do is survive relegation, we won our latest game against bottom of the league so hopefully we can start a winning streak after quite a poor season so far, with us only having 3 wins, two against Varteks who sit bottom and one surprisingly against top of the table NK Međimurje . With us only playing 22 games a season we fill most of the time with friendlies, its going to be a tough end to the season.

Just like that we have ended our venture with Dreams FC as we win the title with 2 losses, its been good but loads of people were leaving next season and since we won the title I thought it was good fgor us to leave it there. I also managed to get my National C Licence and i'm now studying for my National B Licence! I have also entered the Ghana Hall Of Fame!

We went on to lose only two games all season both being to second placed Asante Kotoko who seem to be the side we just can't beat! But as you can see July was a great month for us with us scoring 24 goals in 4 games! We were spanking teams left right and centre! We did continue to keep conceding goals though which was a constant issue.

I guessed we weren't in the African Champions League but then we got put in the qualifiers (I'm guessing for getting to the final of the cup) and managed to make the group stages ( see below) As we spanked the champions of Ethiopia and Libya with aggregates of 6-1 and 6-0 respectively, I wish them the best in the Champions League but they are in the same group as ES Tunis who are going for their 4th title in a row.

What can I say except this is definitely not how Imagined this season would go, call me Mc Donalds because Im Loving It!

Yes that's right, we are unbeaten in the league! What a start to the season! But as you can see we exited the cup early with last seasons league champions Asante Kotoko beating us 4-1, they have been a high scoring team this season with their two attackers getting a combined 37 Goals and 8 Assists in 33 Games (In the league) which is just insane, but so far I think the highlight of this season was when we played Medeama SC and beat them 5-2 after losing to them in the cup final last season.

I'm still using a 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress system which the wingers are thriving in!

After 12 games (Not bang in the middle of the season I know) we sit top by 4 points but we still have second place to come, we have conceded the least goals in the league but as previously mentioned second place Asante Kotoko lead the league in goals scored with their two amazing attackers (Who I did try to buy)

As you can expect everyone is doing well with us having 17 players with a average rating above 7.00 but the key player so far being new signing Kennedy Asamoah with him starting 12 games and having 9 goal involvements, striker Addai leads in goals whilst Asamoah, Maxwell Arthur and Nombil are all level on assists.

Next update - End of the 2020 season!

After what wasn't the best end to the season 6 players came to me and said they thought I had 'Lost the dressing room' which I quickly fixed.There was improvements to made with the stadium only 11% full last season, but their was some exiting things in the pipeline with a new stadium being added to the 5 year plan which is exiting, but sadly no more 'Stadium Of Dreams"



Transfers!

There was some improvements to be made on a already decent squad and i'm currently feeling quite confident, There was a few players who were quite decent backups so they have been promoted for the coming season, as soon as the season ended I got a item pop up in my scouting from Nasri Mura Adowa who is a Ghanaian who was released by Bosnian club FK Zvijezda who will provide back up on the right flank. The attacking midfielder slot was our weakest position so I brought in Kennedy Asamoah who has spent most of his career in the Serbian top flight for Borac. I had a quick peep at Right To Dream Academy who have the best youth facilities in Ghana and I took some of their players on Trial and the best out of the bunch was John Ackah who will be a good option in midfield. Another position which we lacked quality in was left back so I brought in Dennis Joseph who came through the Sassuolo academy!

I applied to go on a coaching course but for like the 5th time it was rejected...

After getting offers from mostly Nigeria, Ghana and Canada I decided to pick the one and only Dreams FC in Ghana. As mentioned I have no records from the start of the season but if I remember correctly they were half way through their season and were 5th in the league. They were the only professional club that approached me which is always a bonus plus they had budget and were in their countries top division! Not a bad place to start.

Club Overview

Dreams FC are a Ghanaian team that were founded in 2009 and currently sit in the top flight in Ghana after being promoted in 2015. They played at The Theatre Of Dreams (Amazing) which currently seats 5000 people! The club have never reached a cup final and never won the top flight.

The Squad



Obviously this is the squad at the end of the season but we have some talented players (even though half of them are wanted by clubs from Qatar or Saudi Arabia) at the start of the season we did have no players on the Left side but I managed to get a few in by the end of the season.

The game says our key player is young Nigerian Oliver Tochukwu who came in on a free from Ivory Coast team FC San Pedro and he went on to play Left Inside Forward instead of his natural Centre Forward Role.



Season Review

It ended up being quite a poor end to the season with us moving from 5th when i joined to 6th but we did managed to get to the Final of the cup with us joining with us in the quarters, can't wait till next season!

Welcome

First of all i'd like to say that this idea is @tongey 's but I wanted to start a new save and saw his idea!

But anyway I'd like to apologise as all I have for the first season is the end as I started this save because i'm away for Christmas and forgot to save my game file to a drive from my over computer, It was ment to be a short term save but i've been enjoying it so much i've made it permanent!

So my goals are to win every trophy loaded in my game! I have added a few leagues these being!

- German Lower Leagues, Saudi Arabia Lower Leagues, Bosnia, Canada, Ivory Coast, Croatia lower leagues, Danish lower Leagues, Scotish lower leagues, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Serbia,

So I'm using normal journeyman rules which are:

-The manager must start with NO COACHING QUALIFICATIONS & SUNDAY LEAGUE FOOTBALLER playing experience

Season 2 - October

I've changed the name of this story as think it has a better ring to it! Sorry after the second match their isn't any notes on the games, i forgot to save my notes!

Matchday 9



Our first game of the month came against H & W Welders, who were top of the league! The first highlight of the game came in the 10th minute when their striker managed to tackle Lavorca (DC) to get himself into a 1 v 1 where he placed the shot straight at the keeper. But then out of no where Sharvin continues his goalscoring form from scoring a curling effort into the right corner from the left corner of the 25 yard box! Sharvin came close later on when their keeper saved a free kick from far out which nearly went in the net. For the rest of the match their was a lack of highlights until it came to the 90th minute when H & W Welders started a quick counter attack when the ball went down the right flank to their Right Winger who crossed it across to their left winger who easily tapped the ball in.

After a decent result in the previous game we face Carrick who sat 2 points above us at the time. The first highlight came along with our first goal when Scoltock passed it to Robinson on the edge of the box who took a touch then placed the ball in the back of the net. Our second goal came when Lavorca got the ball in the box from a corner and opened up his body and placed the ball in the back of the net.
