After a takeover I have an interview for the vacant Man Utd job …42 years since I left .

Forest paid £825k compensation …can’t resist coming back.

After a failed World Cup bid ( Brazil beat Spain ) … I’m back as England manager.

Sell 4 star players aged over 33yrs whose pace have gone … 2xCB and 1 xLB and the Keeper.

Arrange a lot of friendlies .. promote youth centre backs and bring former Dungannon keeper in from Roma.

Season 51 

Allow contract to end and apply for Envigado in Colombian 2nd division.

Tough interview ,. Oddest question ..Why I leave jobs quickly ..having just completed 20 seasons.

22/7/69 ..Start new job.  They are top after 22 games but with no manager all season since adding the league.

Why Envigado ?

1. Never managed a South American team in any version Championship/FM I have had.
2. Youth facilities were Excellent
3. Wanted to get a non Brazil/Argentina side to Copa glory.
4. They were available.
5. Lots of room to improve the club … 11000 ground seems plenty.
6. Youth Philosophy fits with plan…. 5 players under 18 in first team.
7. No Cup wins and last of 4 second tier titles was 29 years ago.
8. Can I take having best players sold constantly … I’m not good with this !

Have to get some staff as none in place and then find its 1 week until end of transfer window .. better players already being poached for end of season free transfers.

Tactics … team are set for 442 so using this for rest of the season.

Set up corner routine … Goalkeeper suddenly up front so have to adjust ! 

Adverts for U19 positions made and sign asst mgr / scout / coach / physio / head of youth.

Make 2 loan signings.   Look for youngsters but wage demands too high For all but 1.

Board request for feeder and facilities … fail with both as too soon.

End of transfer window a nightmare .. not enough time to stop 6 first teamers in last 6 months of contract leaving End of December.

Break transfer record (sale) was £20k … youngster Henao bought for initial £250k.

Turned down bids for £2m plus.

Owners undermine me by selling for £4.5m despite my objections…I get £1.6m to budget.

However they are now refusing £6.5m bid for Scottish striker from Dundee Utd.

Game 39 is away to Burnley who are Top on 84pts  … we are 2 points behind Carlisle (67pts) .. lose to a late long range strike … Carlisle also lose late.

Game 40 ..Carlisle throw away a 2 goal lead to lowly Fleetwood … go 2nd on goal difference….despite a surprising  loss ..Burnley are Champions.

Game 42 ..Play off place secured .. still 2nd on goal difference from Carlisle . They have the easier run in.

Game 44 held 0-0 by 7th placed Exeter …Carlisle beat bottom of the table Vale .. drop to 3rd.

Game 45 … Everything going on .. disallowed goals , having to fightback against the run of play but ends 2-2.

Carlisle save a pen but still lose … gap now 1 point for the final game.

After 14 wins and 4 draws ..lose away at Porto in 1st knock out round .1-2 Loss.

Return fixture … HT 2-1 ..reverse of leg 1 where they went 2 up.  Agg 3-3

FT 3-1 … nice to have a proper contest.

Mid Ulster Cup Final .. Beat Portadown 2-0 with Quinn + own goal. New youth intake Dunlop makes his debut in goal as a sub at just 15 years 244 days ( 22 days off the club record). ..does set a Mid Ulster Cup record for youngest player.

Struggle for form whilst balancing Champions League ( see off Celtic after away draw) and after being held by Linfield 1-1 have to recover from 2-0 down at half time away at Cliftonville by bringing on rested first team players to win 3-2.

After Leeds U20 team thrash Dungannon U20 ..7-1 … I draw the senior team who are 3rd in the Prem in the SF of Champions League…… draw 1-1 away.

Home .. HT 3-0 down and gets worse despite subbing underperforming star players … lose 5-1 .

NOT THE DREAM END I WANTED … HAD SOME GREAT SIDES BUT NEVER MANAGED MORE THAN 3 WINS IN A ROW IN THIS COMPETITION .

There are a few records which appear in 2 different formats :

Youngest Player … Some show as 14 yrs x days ..my 14 year old is showing as 5330.( Shown in Total days ).

Oldest  goal scorer .. mine is total of days 14508 … others as 39 years.

Oldest  player… same mix.

Is it possible to have them all in the same format.

Fastest goal or fastest red cards etc are 0 …. Is it possible to have them in seconds.

No worry .. I am 35 seasons into a save and decided to have all categories with a record for “ My Record” section…. May find some other problem areas.

I imagine that with Records able to be “ fixed” using add manager etc .. it makes it less popular.

I had a record rejected for Most Goals years ago (2019 I think with Harry Kane getting 12) but never understood why when it was as International Match vs a low ranking country you cannot play ( not add or influence) and yet 8 goals in a premier league game goes through ( Never seen more than 5 in any top league in all my saves and I’ve managed PSG 🤣).

Also an issue with worst discipline
