Season 90 .

Start to improve the Squad and finally offered the Scotland job after current manager leaves for Andorra.

Season 89 .  Scottish League 1 … hot favourites to be relegated. 200-1.   Faith & QOS favourites for promotion.

Get 5 loans in and release 19 players.  A lot of change with a part time side. Got rid of U18 side. Promoted youth end of last season and playing them in First Team.

Betfred Cup .. Get 2 wins but fail to qualify from Group.  Dundee Utd beat Dundee for the title.

Irn Bru Cup … Lose to Championship Ayr 3-0

Scottish Cup … Knocked out in Round 3 by Championship Ross County.  My Aberdeen side lose sf to high flying Morton. Morton beat St.J in the Final.

League 1 … Steady start and 4th after 16 games.

Scotland reject my job application.  Would have given me the full house of Home Countries.

Move to Aberdeen as board Will not go full time and want to help my old club from 8th placed and failed Champions League group stage.

By the League split we are 2nd … 5 points adrift of Dundee.

Rangers (8th) and Celtic (11th) are surprise underachievers.

Going to leave United after not renewing my contract.  Want a low level Scottish side to challenge Myself and build. Taking half the Premier sides would be too easy with guaranteed European football.

Toss up between Berwick and Brora … my wife suggests Berwick.   They want play offs.

Linked with Villa.   Morton,Hibs & St.Johnstone offer job interviews ( have a soft spot In Real Life for them so hard to decline but have had issues with their board last time I managed them).

Season 87

Change back to 4231 after slow start including Feyenoord thrashing in Champions League.  Despite change Also lose 7-0 away at SLB. But also hit 7 against Hibs and 9 in return game vs Feyenoord.

Bizarre season with few clean sheets and big wins / losses. Concede 8 away at Bournemouth , next game score 5. Also hit relegated Norwich for 10.

Take GB U23 Role to have a crack at the Olympics.   Games are counting towards career stats. Did not play friendlies and this kept squad fresher for the tournament .

QF vs Turkey .. Win 6-0.

SF vs Mexico.. Win 3-0

FINAL VS Serbia .. Confident after group game.  5 late goals show fitness key.. 3-0 up to 3-2 before ending 8-2.

I have worked on quick wingers , tall centre backs and striker and looking at determination … released a number of poor determined youngsters.

League starts well … Win league by Game 32 as no real challenger emerges . Seal the title and use youngsters from Youth Intake .. Lewis-Price becomes the clubs youngest ever player.(15y 220d) by 23 days.

Carabao Cup SF 1st leg … Bournemouth beat Spurs 4-2 … my old striker Lundstram scores both Spurs goals.

(a) West Ham .. 2 players suspended.   2 up attacking within 20 mins , Hammers miss a pen (2mins) but then pegged back to 2-1. (h) vs West Ham ..Rested squad against bottom side in league so only 1 suspension.  Gone for it again and 2-0 up (12 & 17mins)  before giving away a penalty for 2-1 (33mins)  HT 2-1 and game is 5-5 on agg.  Can only keep going for it .  Have to make 3 subs due to yellow cards to 3 of my front 4.  Sub Midson scores the Winner in the 91st minute for a 3-1 (6-5agg) shock win. 5 of the West Ham rated 6.5 or less.

FINAL vs Bournemouth (13th in Premiership) ..Their 2nd final (2077 runners up).  I have a full squad .. they are 1 suspended & 1 injured. I will go for it as I have done previously.

HT 0-0. Very even first half ..potential Giant Killing still on.  Downes(50) shock lead. Loanee Cain(64) doubles the lead and daring to dream before 2-1 (67) and 2-2 (69) my subs are not the same quality. Only MK players getting booked ( 4 from 23 fouls) they have 0/10.

League …Shock 2 Top half teams from last year by winning opening fixtures . Young 17yr old  striker Nyborg has started well.
