I've been having some issues with my laptop running FM recently, it has been very buggy and generally really slow to process through the game. I do have all the face packs, real names, badges, etc.. loaded, but run very few Playable leagues and my game is still slow and sluggish.

 

As a result, I was thinking about getting a new system to run the game on. I thought it may be best to get a gaming PC of some sort to enable to me to play it faster and to have far more leagues loaded than I'd be able to on a laptop. Would anyone happen to have any recommendations on what system might be the best for me to get to run the game in the way I'd like to?

After downloading the file here when I tried to extract it it told me it would take 9 hours and despite leaving it it wouldn't go down. I don't have that time to leave my laptop on, does anyone know why this is happening or any sort of work around to make this work better or is this just how long it takes?

Extracting the filewill take a while, but it shouldn't take that long. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can. 

 

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time

I'll give that a go, ive got it extracting with no other programs open. I'll just have to let it run for a while and see what happens. Currently it is telling me I have 25 hours left and has just been going up for the past few minutes which isnt great. Thanks for the quick response

 

I've tried downloading the pack and that worked fine but I tried to extract it using WinRar but it says it was going to take upwards of 10 hours. Is this normal?

Update packs include images new to the megapack (including youngsters but not exclusively) as well as updated cut-outs for people who already had images in the megapack. These are collected from the submissions forum, in which we have hundreds of images produced on a daily basis.

 

Both Haaland and Calvert-Lewin have had images added recently in the megapack; in Haaland's case it's from a month ago, and in DCL's case it's from the Euro 2020 photoshoot.

 

If you want to change them, check their timeline by using the search function

 

 

and see if there's another game-ready image you can use instead of what's in the megapack. It's as easy as downloading the image and replacing the existing megapack cut.

Thanks for the reply. I first installed the complete pack last March and havent installed any of the update packs since. If i install the update packs would that give me the newer photos of DCL and Haaland or would i have to do a bit of messing around with the folders? Also do I just drop the update packs into graphics folder or does it have to be in the faces folder with the original megapack i downloaded? Sorry if youve already explained this I'm just awful with tech so need it explained to me like an infant.

 

Downloaded the pack and it works fantastic, used it last year as well and it was great then, still is now. I was just wondering what is in the update packs, is it players new to the game who may have recently came through an academy and/or updated photos of players? If its not the latter does anyone have any idea on how I could update specific player faces in game? For example on my save Haaland is looking a little baby faced and so is DCL and I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a slightly more updated photo of the players if this is not included in the latest changes pack/s?

I do have inside forwards and wing backs with decent crossing + dribbling (I do usually use full backs with those sorts of stats anyway). Ill probably have to stick to the 4123 formation because its the only one i really have the players for but I like it. Ill definitely give it a go and fingers crossed it will keep me up.

It is my first season in the prem with Leeds. I got promoted in 2nd, mainly because Fulham who should have gone up kept dropping points near the end of the season. Throughout the season i flipped between tactics but really struggled to find one that worked well for me and since I started the prem season my team has been awful, but I wast quite sure if that was tactic or just having players who weren't good enough. Ill have to use it without a preseason and just see how things go, cant go any worse than they have been so far in fairness.

Also, do you know if the tactic would still work if I changed some of the player roles? I only really have centre backs who can play as ball playing defenders and a less comfortable as central defenders and I also only have dm's who can play as deep lying play makers and I don't have a striker who could really play as a false nine. Do you think I could change some of these or would this mess it up?

Do you think this would work for a team trying to not get relegated from the Premier League? I have a Leeds save and I've found it difficult to find a tactic that seems to work for my team. I concede a lot and seem to score very little apart from set pieces.
