They've wheeled out Coloccini to make a statement thing: http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20150505/an-open-letter-from-the-captain_2281670_4693743

With any luck they'll have taught him how to fucking defend before WBA turn up.

Mail reporting that Carver offered to step down but Steve McClaren said no, so he's being kept on, while the players had their own crisis meeting with none of the coaching staff invited.

Wouldn't surprise me if all of those farcical-sounding details were true tbh.

Verdict announced yonder: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32582510

Seems a bit absurd to wait 10 days for a verdict but who cares.

I hoping WBA will settle for the point this weekend. Best bet is beating an already relegated QPR in a fortnight.

Just like it was 2 years ago then. But tbh I think if we don't beat West Brom, we are in deep shit.

John Carver has now said "Maybe the players are not listening to me."

Well no shit - ever since he's been promoted he's said a lot of them are shit.
I know it's extremely unlikely with Sunderland's fixture list but what would actually happen to Newcastle if they got relegated?

There would be a lot of players being sold at the very least. We'd probably just be left with Paul Dummett.

Latest claim is that Krul and Coloccini had a big row on the bus back north yesterday, with Krul criticising Coloccini's defending and leadership, and there's talk a new captain might be appointed for the final trio: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/11580318/Newcastle-captain-Fabricio-Coloccini-in-bust-up-with-Tim-Krul-on-team-bus-after-Leicester-defeat.html

Someone had to say it I guess. Coloccini has been rotten for the best part of the last 3 years.

Why should they just leave and stop supporting their team? Its not their fault Oyston is doing what he is doing. Would you stop supporting Newcastle and go to Gateshead because of Ashley? I doubt it very much.

I know there's a fair few that are going to Wembley to see North Shields in the FA Trophy Final next weekend instead of the NUFC-West Brom match, and some went to see Gateshead at Wembley in last season's play-off final. Maybe regional branching out seems to be a way.

WELCOME SCHTEVE

Quite impressive if Carver manages to get sacked from a caretaker reign like. And I Janmaat is very, very overrated. Got absolutely murdered by Schlupp today then got himself really stupidly sent off.

Carver is so bad it's unreal though.

Janmaat is one of our better players, but that's not excusing his pathetic performance yesterday.

Williamson has made a statement denying he deliberately got himself dismissed - one that did not mention Carver by name. Cannot imagine the two are seeing eye-to-eye right now.

If we do bring in McClaren at all, nevermind now, that three month choke at Derby is not a good omen.

Oyston's are in a league of their own tbf.

Definitely think Blackpool fans should just fuck off from Blackpool, either make a new club or support a different one.

They have made an AFC Blackpool. But maybe its defiance thing - maybe they seem to think Oyston wants a club playing to nobody, and are defiantly still wanting to support their team even as it dies.

I'm presuming the verdict will be giving Blackpool a fine and/or closed door games, while giving Huddersfield a forfeit victory. Plus the club has clearly not forgotten their cycling campaign, given that is all I found on the club Twitter while browsing for reaction and photos of the chairman was at the stadium to greet the last cyclists when they got back to Yorkshire, although I do applaud that as a gesture.

Sure, one game of football being called off is one thing, and is usually frowned upon. But that's a real momentary focus that detracts from the issue. Its a major sight issue on the whole enterprise that a team's fans felt moved to go such lengths in the first place. There are plenty of occasions where people feel moved to break convention to highlight a nightmare, and while the attempts to break into the directors box went too far, the whole brigade are a fucking mess and it seemed like something drastic is needed. Plus let's be fair - the fact Karl Oyston is on the Football League board is a disgrace to the sport. Blackpool fans are not going to respect convention when that enormous red flag is being waved.

Whether it actually works is another matter. The action does seem to have quite a lot of fans backing it (and indeed seems to have a few other fans getting ideas) but who knows what it'll lead to. Could well see Blackpool getting relegated again this time next year tbh.

EDIT: Saying that, the fact they're getting attention on every national paper and even reports in the American media is probably enough for the invasion's organisers will think of it as a success.

The thing that impressed me most was the guy on the mobility scooter doing a lap of the pitch. Clearly security had given up by that point, although he probably got more applause than any players lap would've done.

There's a claim on Twitter that Carver is done after fighting a player on the team bus.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was true but its Twitter. It always makes me a little sad when these rumours appear on there but don't happen.

I liked Avengers, thought James Spader was awesome as Ultron, and I liked the more focus on Hawkeye, though I didn't think I would! Wasn't so keen with the love story though.

I felt the reverse - I liked the Black Widow/Hulk romantic stuff, but I didn't particularly find the Hawkeye stuff as good.

Agreed on Ultron though. James Spader was a very entertaining presence.

Yeah - if you were a Huddersfield fan you'd be pretty fucked off. But if you're a Blackpool fan, you'll have been pretty fucked off since this time last year, and determined to do something about it. Its pretty clear the relationship between their cartoonishly detestable owners and their fans is toxic verging on meltdown, and its a bit of a surprise they didn't try this sooner tbh.

They're almost certainly going to get a few closed door games next season. Although its doubtful anyone would've turned up to begin with.

In eight games we've gone from being 13 clear of the bottom three to 2. We are in big fucking trouble.
We have some absolute morons of fans. Rodgers out Rafa in banner flying over today.

At least the Kop was in good spirits, banner about missing the atmosphere.

Also anyone actually wanna buy Sterling?

I've seen a claim that Man United fans paid for it.

Carver is hilarious.

Genuinely reminds me of Mike Bassett

Resign you clueless idiot

In Mike Bassett Manager its said he relegates Newcastle twice in as many seasons.

That kind of feat is clearly not beyond the current fuckwitted cunt.

Can't fucking wait until we 'cash in' on Sissoko, Tiote, Janmaat and Cisse. Krul could do with actually saving something as well.

And no I don't think Williamson is a great player, I'm more against the obsessing over one or two apparent weak links and turning them into scapegoats. And having a childlike belief that the whole team is shite because of said player.

Sissoko looked like he'd given up in February. Sounds like his return was not an improvement.

Williamson I think is coming up as a symbol. Every other club would have replaced him by now, but the cheapskate nature means the buyers clearly cannot be fucked. He is a terrible player, but the team as a whole is currently comprised of them, and not just him.

As shit as Newcastle are they're probably still safe.

Can't see Sunderland, QPR or Burnley getting enough points to catch them.

If Sunderland win today, I wouldn't be so sure..

In a presser, Carver said nobody could have got a better record than him in this period.

Fuck me is he that delusional? 9 points from 15 league games and 12 defeats in all competitions (before this inevitable latest one) is a sign that he isn't qualified to lead an U15's team, nevermind a Premier League troupe.

Blackpool fans have stopped their game with Huddersfield with a pitch invasion.

Meanwhile, as it stands, a pretty woeful looking Derby are sinking out of the play-offs on the final day.

#NUFC team: Krul, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Dummett, Gutierrez, R.Taylor, Colback, Sissoko, Rivière, Perez.
Subs: Woodman, Abeid, Anita, Ameobi, Cabella, de Jong, Armstrong.

I really don't know what, if any, formation is being deployed.

Its 3 years to the day that Cisse scored that wonder-volley at Chelsea that defied the laws of physics. Its probably not out of the question that there's a lot of fans for whom that was the least time they were that excited about the whole thing.

True, but at the rate ticket prices have been increasing since the early '90's, an empty stadium or one with no atmosphere is becoming more common. There are a lot of games on TV that make funerals sound lively.

Its all a bit unnecessary and some lowering is a possibility. Hell, the next TV deal will throw in enough cash that it can reach the point where ticket sales could be cut and teams would still make big profits, so why not cut ticket prices instead of throwing it at already richly rewarded players and coaches?

Apologies. Jumped the gun and probably should have paid more attention to what I was reading lel.

Yeah - as noted, the title race has been boring. Chelsea have been top since day one and the nearest challenger was probably Swansea in the first 3 weeks before Chelsea beat them at Stamford Bridge. Had Arsenal started their winning run a month or so earlier and kept it going, it might've been more interesting, but nobody's really come close.

Everyone has their own verdict on the entertainment quality of Chelsea, and I certainly think the boring boring tag has been exaggerated, but everyone else has failed to give them a more involving challenge.

Least yours worked properly. Last year I handed my dissertation in a plastic pouch with rubber bands after my memory stick corrupted in Staples while attempting to print it. But then again, I'm yet to receive the physical copy back and lost the memory stick with it on.
