I thought you could only loan 2 players from a single team at a time? Or is that just within England?

Also Streete has already played for 2 clubs (1 was U21) so surely can't play for ye? Port Vale was an emergency loan though so maybe that's different

I've heard Micah Richards is being allowed to join Inter despite playing in the Community Shield. Plus Tom Ince has joined Derby on loan despite playing for Hull and Nottingham Forest this season.

Bigirimana was a first team player in 12/13 but Pardew then ignored him for no fuckign reason. Streete is a player with potential but has also had injuries. Vuckic had potential but has also had a ton of injuries. Ferguson has not delivered on the promise he showed in 2010/11, and I'm not so familiar with Mbabu.

I don't know who this Rangers loan is worse for - the prestige of them knowing they need Ashley's hand-me-downs, or the fact we've left three defenders go at a time when we're desperately low on them.

You're assuming he actually cares.

We're under the assumption he does care about Rangers. Or at least I am.

Apparently Newcastle are trying to loan five or six reserves to Rangers, including our 2 best reserve centre backs.

Fucking nora.

Santon has said he's going, Newcastle have said he isn't.

Considering the back four that started vs Hull and Santon are our only fit 5 senior defenders at the minute, selling Santon seems like an incredibly bad idea. Yet apparently he's in talks to join Inter.

I don't think there's enough in it to disallow the goal but it is horrific luck that he wound up colliding with his own goalkeeper in a place to give him a major trauma and a trip to a hospital.

But then there is a streak of truly sickening blows coming out of seemingly innocent challenges, and there is something really disconcerting about it as a concept. I've seen and heard of incidents before when it seems like nothing has happened and yet a player has been truly damaged by their place in the events because it happened in just the wrong place.

Jeez that sounds rough. I think its a relief for all concerned his condition was documented as stable.
Why did the ambulance come after the game had finished, or was it a late injury?

Judging by what terriersmad posted and the substitution details on the BBC match report, I think it happened in and amid the sequence that saw Leeds' winner scored, which came on 90 minutes.

Two surprisingly simple goals. But then I suppose anything to break the stalemate is better than nothing, even if I did think Aguero had scored.
Pretty sure it is now you mention it, Someone just tried swapping shirts with Mignolet from a corner and he said there wasn't much in it

A type of his name into Twitter revealed dozens of Liverpool fans calling him unbearable.

I was hoping for someone to bring something like the Defour banner. But I think that was probably a bit too much to ask. Shame. Would've been quite something.

Not sure who the 2nd commentator is for NBC but he couldn't be more in favour of West Ham if he tried

If its Tony Gale it wouldn't surprise me. He's a fucking terrible pundit that seems to be a walking bias factory.

There are images on Twitter of an air ambulance having to land on the Huddersfield pitch to carry Terriers defender Tommy Smith to hospital after a serious head injury during their game with Leeds.

That's a bit shocking. Hope its not as serious as it sounds or looks.

Reckon excellent is a bit generous. But well it's nice to get a bit of luck. Good to see Carver putting more of his own stamp on the team. Thought Anita and Haidara improved more as the game went on. Cabella had another good game.

Not sure if Sissoko can be arsed though.

Well, tbf, we were aided by Hull's exceptionally wayward passing. But a clinical 3-0 win is still an excellent result and we were - just about - good value for it.

Agreed on Sissoko, although he looked more interested than at least 4 Hull players. They look in trouble.

Bloody hell, fast start - Everton ahead in two minutes, Spurs ahead in five, quite a fair few chances.

Excellent display. Sammy Ameobi's goal was an excellent hit. Also nice to see Cabella score his first Premier League goal and Gouffran finally score an intentional Premier League goal - even with a deflection.
the slightly older of us will remember Lynam presenting MOTD, always thought he was a great host

Sure. Though his move from BBC to ITV in 1999 was a bit before my time in football fandom.

Thank god.

The new generation shouldn't have to endure The Premiership.

When I first got into football it was back in 2001-02 when that was the choice. I got into it after the farce that was the 7pm start with Townsend's Tactics Truck though. But I've heard legendary things about how fucking awful it is. Maybe I liked it because Des Lynam was such a commanding presence as the host.

Maybe its because I wasn't aware of the history or the idea you could have it without adverts, but when it reverted back to Match of the Day in 2004 I was quite thrown for a little while. But now, for all it faults - and I still tend to skip the analysis or zone out during it - it is still a better place.

They're both depressing in different ways - its just different shades of shit.

Maybe someone who has followed the club since the 1970s will write a book with that as a title.

A team in the Premier League top 10 going through? What sorcery is this?

West Ham got away with it too - they were terrible in the first half.

They've made a number of really bad decisions since they got relegated.

Clearly. Owen Coyle and Malky Mackay certainly resemble poor managerial ones, and Dave Whelan's foot in mouth has caught up with him, which doesn't help.

I'm surprised Wigan have been so poor since they lost the play-off semis at QPR last May. It was fairly understandable there might have been some long term burnout following the intense campaign they had in 2013/14, but they seemed to have sleepwalked into trouble, panic-sacked Rosler, and then just fallen apart.

From what I have read Pardew did want to make such signings and was immediately shot down by Graham Carr. Lennon might not be the worst of such overpriced players - would also be an improvement on Pardew's reported suggestion of Colin Kazim-Richards - but we can probably find better for cheaper.

The problem is that we don't have enough semblance that this is what they want. It would be nice if we knew for sure, but the fact there's a "Everything might be for sale" sign always over the club doesn't help the semblance of team construction. I still think more questions could have been asked of Charnley then were, and that the answers he gave were extremely sanitised.

I don't think Alli is that opposable a signing - even if £9million is a bit excessive - but I still think there are positions that need strengthening first or as well. Maybe its all just hot air. I know we've been linked with him on and off for a while and I'm aware of reports Graham Carr has been spotted at MK Dons games, but I was under the impression Liverpool and Arsenal led the queue. Apparently not.

Meanwhile one of the Tyneside papers called him "Alli Dele". Good start.

Tbh given the rumour's been Liverpool attempting to buy him for fees rising to £9million, I was surprised by a link with us, nevermind the MK Dons people confirming our scouts have recently been monitoring him.

MK Dons say they are expecting a bid from the Magpies for Dele Alli. Not sure if we need a midfielder right now though, or at least more than we really require a CB.

Its like ITV has been reading all the hate for their coverage and made an attempt at rectifying it. Took them fucking long enough.

The Deloitte Football Money League came out today and has Newcastle as the 19th richest club in the world by turnover, with a turnover of £125.7million, which is anticipated to lead to a £50million profit when the 2013/14 financials are declared later in the year.

And yet apparently we still don't have the budget for a new striker.

There's a fair amount of debate on social media going on after Freddie Shepherd was in the Newcastle papers claiming Mike Ashley is only keeping us so he can make money, which has led to debate on the merits of his ambition as NUFC chairman, and additionally his hypocrisy, given his family and the Halls took something like £150million combined.

I'm not sure where we would be if the Halls hadn't cashed in first in 2007. I don't know for sure if we were "hours from going bust", as Chris Mort put it, but I doubt it was that pretty a situation either.

Apparently Neil Taylor could be leaving Swansea, so this is just a replacement. Hopefully this deal means Yedlin will start getting some game time soon.

Odd choice given Naughton is better at right back.
