Reports from Brazil that we're very close to signing Fabinho from Monaco.

I haven't really seen much of him to comment, but if it means not playing Jones at right back I'm happy.

Napoli and some other clubs were after him earlier in the summer but were priced out.

Speaking of Napoli, seems like Milik is their Higuain replacement.

€94m for a 29 year old...

Jeez. I'm not even sure Higuain is that good (I know he had a good season in Italy, but still).

Only half of that is for the player, really. The rest is just to eliminate their last remaining title rival.

There's really no way that Napoli could replace the 20-35 goals Higuain would have given them. There's barely any strikers capable of scoring 10 goals on the market, getting one who could score 20 will be impossible.

They are apparently kicking the tires on Icardi, but there's no way that transfer actually happens. They should go after Bacca and Lacazette too, but again, there's no way that they'd actually sign them.

Häcken knocked out by a League of Ireland side and AIK only scoring twice over two legs against a club from Gibraltar paints a pretty dark picture of Swedish football.

Speaking of underwhelming transfer windows, it angers me how fucking shit the clubs who should challenge Juventus in Italy are doing, Inter adding Banega was nice but they haven't done a single thing since, Milan have done fuck all and Roma and Napoli are busy making themselves worse. Lazio hiring Bielsa was a sign of hope, but of course they had to fuck that up. The only news coming out of Italy is bad news, like the rumours of Higuain, Bacca and Icardi being sold.

The big problem is that Dortmund continued to sign those sort of players after Klopp left

Not really, their first success under Klopp was mostly based on making the most out of players that weren't that highly rated, remember how Lewandowski was originally said to be signing for Blackburn or Genoa for example, but after that first title they have been signing players that other top clubs would want too, the likes of Reus, Aubameyang, and Mkhitaryan all had interest from other top clubs and Gündogan was only a risk because of his injury history.

Klopp wasn't in charge of transfers at Dortmund and I doubt he has full control of them at Liverpool either though.

Either way, if there was anything that Klopp's first success at Dortmund showed it was that you don't need a team of stars to win, you just need players who fit your system and are willing to put down the hard work. From that perspective I think Mane and Wijnaldum might work out very well for Liverpool. They aren't that dissimilar from the type of players he had at Dortmund.

Finally got a modern phone after using some old Sony Ericsson for the last 10 years, I have almost no idea what i'm doing with this thing

I did the same thing two years ago. It takes a good while for the feeling of cluelessness to go away. There's some pretty fucking cool things that you can do with a smartphone though which makes it worth it.

Got back into playing Fallout 4 about a month ago, currently at level 31 and the Overseer's Guardian is seriously overpowered when you have the rifleman perk, I kill pretty much everything I come across with 1-2 shots,

I'd like to congratulate myself on becoming the 2016 Sortitoutsi.net Twatball champion.

Jonas long held what looked like an insurmountable lead, but lost 40 points courtesy of the Portuguese tournament victory, meaning my 241 points were enough to secure the title.

Final table:

1. Franck - 241 points.
2. Jonas - 227 points.
3. Eric Portapotty 200 points.
4. Shola - 170 points.

This Portuguese team are worse than Greece in 2004. Awful fucking tournament. UEFA better bin this format for 2020.

Rui Patricio was the only player who started the match that actually played well.

Tiered expectations are a central aspect of football. For a country like Wales just qualifying for a major tournament is open top bus parade worthy, going to the semi-final only gives them even more to celebrate. They have over-achieved immensely and the Welsh people deserve an opportunity to show the team their appreciation.

Seriously? Perhaps Liverpool should celebrate reaching the final of the Europa League, Spurs should celebrate almost winning the pl. Load of rubbish

Forget Liverpool and Spurs, Wales going to the semi-final is like a League Two side going to the FA Cup final. I have no doubt in my mind that the likes of Exeter City, Newport County or Mansfield Town would celebrate that, win or lose.

They didn't play particularly well against us in the last 16 and only progressed because of an own goal.

That was the worst match of the tournament. This was the best.

Hard to believe this is the same Wales side that played an absolute shocker against us in the final pre-tournament friendly.

As for Belgium, De Bruyne was absolutely horrendous today. Completely invisible.
