No, the whole point is that they are changing the rules so that all teams have to be taxed the same, including Monaco's team, even though it is located in a tax haven.

I only read about the issue last year, but back then it was only described as something desired by the other clubs in Ligue 1, not an actual proposal.

Do you mean Monaco are going to be forced to pay corporation tax? Or are their players going to be forced to pay income tax?

If it's the former, the surely Monaco aren't going to be losing any advantage as they're not going to be making any profits anyway

The other clubs want Monaco to be legally registered in France (where their training ground is) as opposed to in Monaco like it is now, meaning they'd have to pay the same taxes as everyone else.

All it means in reality is that Dmitry Rybolovlev will have to double the wages of his players, considering his net worth is over $9 billion he's more than capable of doing that if he really wants to.

Not ignorant but rather overstated. The problem with the supposed reality to rape reporting is that hardly any thought is ever given to the reality of false claims and they are almost as damaging in the current climate. As for statistics though, I do no care for them as I prefer to picture an individual rather than a statistic as stats don't give the whole story

Accusing someone of rape puts a very heavy burden upon the shoulders of the victim, especially if the person you accuse is famous or otherwise influential. Many victims simply feel that they can't carry that burden and choose to remain silent.

If a high-profile case like the one with Savile creates enough trust in the police and the justice system to make other victims of rape and sexual abuse to come forward, that's a very good thing. Saying that it "stinks of opportunism" entirely trivialises the absolute hell the victims of these crimes have gone through.
