#256080 Newcastle Thread

And OK, Everton, Spurs etc. are also run in the exact same way.
I'm still not sure how Newcastle didn't replace Cabaye. We sold a French International Midfielder and now we have a French International Midfielder.

He charges the club no interest on the debt, and has delayed taking £18m in short term loan, for the past couple of years. Giving Sports Direct advertisement is often seen as a sign of his greed, but it's robbing from himself. He's giving a company he doesn't own free advertisement, from a company that he does own.
Besides everything he does will be misconstrued to put him and the club in a negative light -
Sign expensive players like Cabella or Cisse - He obviously wants to cash in - and sell them for more.
Sign young players like Perez - Obviously can't wait to sell for more
Sign expensive players and then sell them for less than the club paid - Obviously cashing in, can't wait to save on the wages
Invest millions into the youth academy - Obviously trying to produce young players to cash in
Give young players a chance - Neglecting the team, running the club into the ground etc.
It's boring. The club is run in the exact same manner as Swansea, Southampton etc.
And just because it was Pardew who told him, doesn't mean it was his decision.

What's Ashley's blueprint?

And I doubt its Ashley (or Pardew), more likely to be Charnley or whoever runs that side of things.

Yeah. It seems to have a fairly limited presence in the UK, doesn't it?
Not as surprised to learn that Fifth Gear was still on mind.

Can't actually believe Top Gear was still on, just assumed it ended 5 years ago.

And Arsenal got nothing out of him, Janmaat and two midfielders for the last 45 mins.
Williamson had a horror show, on the second corner it happens. Janmaat was very good, and Cabella had his best game for Newcastle, he was very good today.

Why on Earth would Liverpool sign a young player for £7m and give him a 2 year deal?

The way to save the midcard belts isn't Cena and Bryan imo, it's having Neville/Zayn/Owens/Devitt etc feuding over them like they mean something en route to the top belt.

Bracewell can be special referee.

I reckon Poyet has done a really good job at Sunderland. Did well to keep them up last year and has since lost Borini, Ki, Alonso and Colback. And had a fairly small budget to replace several players and sign new ones. Bad at transfers mind.
And Sunderland can't beat Newcastle and go on a decent run. If Sunderland win they'll all be hungover/pissed for the remaining fixtures. They've won one since the last one. I mean ffs we've won 3 since and I think the past three months, may have been about the worst we've played since returning to the league.

The last three transfers of the Fat Freddy era, were Ogochu Oneyewu, Olivier Bernard and Pavel Srnicek.
This was the last ever Fat Freddy team;
Newcastle: Given, Solano (Onyewu 59), Ramage, Taylor, Carr, Milner, Butt, Dyer, Pattison, Owen (O'Brien 67), Ameobi (Carroll 62).
Subs Not Used: Harper, Huntington.
Solano at RB, Carr at LB, Peter Ramage, Matty Pattison and Alan O'Brien.
But then again we were a real team back then and didn't finish behind Reading, Bolton, Blackburn, Villa and Boro. 5 points off relegation and 12 points behind Reading.

And Ameobi is quick, has a god shot on him, can beat a man and can cross. Best crosser off the ball since Solano at Newcastle. If he had a different surname and was signed for £9m from Lyon or Marseilles you would have a different view of him.
And we won't move forward, ever unless an owner spends £100's of millions. Or football fundamentally changes.

Seriously, most do not know the difference between profit and cash, know how buying and selling players are accounted for, and do not understand that profit is not immediately drained into the owner's 'back pocket.
Also fun game. See how Newcastle's massive profits this year are viewed compared to Southampton and Swansea's next year.

I put De Jong in CM - As I would like to see 4-3-3 and CM seems to fit him more than as a Striker or a winger. He can probably play their with a DM and Colback.
Eh, I have faith in Ameobi and Obertan, besides I don't like selling players. And I said signing a winger would be a priority, thus Ayew (?) on one wing and Cabella on the other.

Elliot
Fine, allow Elliot to leave, I guess.
Janmaat
New young RB
Dummett
Haidara
Colo
Taylor
Williamson
Lascelles
-Dummett-
Defence not too bad, depending on Taylor's injuries. Would still like to see a new replacement in their for Colo, and maybe an additional guy if Lascelles isn't ready. And an additional RB brought in.

Colback
De Jong**

Jonas***
-R.Taylor-***
OK in numbers, but solid chance Taylor and Jonas won't be retained and Tiote and SIssoko imo will get their moves in the summer. I've put De Jong in CM as I have no idea where he plays. Could definitely do with another midfielder.
Cabella
Obertan
Ameobi
Gouffran
Aarons
-Perez-
Looks OK, but spending big on a winger would be an area to go for imo. Ayew would probably be good, if he isn't going somewhere else.
Cisse
Riviere
Perez
Urgency for a new striker largely depends on Cisse's fitness.
