Ive tried the new version (1.5 now, I missed 1.4) for around a season.
I can tell you definitely made changes to what I brought up - wide players now follow their instructions much better. Defenders look much better at defending, obviously they dont always get it right but it looks far better now.
I dont know what other changes you made but I am seeing a lot more diverse in match events and variety of goals. I see some interesting own goals, counters, mistakes leading to goals and even saw a penalty rebound get scored which I dont think ive ever seen in FM24. Occasionally the goalkeeping is a little rough but as it never happens to me I am inclined to believe that its more to do with how poor the oppositions GKs. Corners are much better now as well, far more goal mouth scrambles rather than just in swinging header goals.
So - great job!
What I would say is that I dont really think the number of shots and goals has come down too much from the vanilla match engine. I dont think this is an issue with the mod more an overall issue with FM24. When you compare the league you play in (which is simming in full detail) vs any other league (which uses a stripped down match engine) the goals scored in other leagues is far lower. You can see this when comparing leagues with regional splits (eg English national league north/south or the step below that) when you full sim one and not the other.
Sorry - got off topic there. Right now this mod is in a really good state I feel.

Wanted to provide some feedback.
I like some of what this match engine does such as less perfect passing and lower number of shots, so a more accurate goals per game. However there are some really glaring issues.
Wingers no longer operate as you would expect. Even on attack wingers will never cross from the byline and instead prefer to pass back or cut inside, even on their weaker foot. Crossing instructions are ignored and most crosses are high into the box even if you instruct for low crosses. This is a problem as headers are much weaker in this match engine.
Defenders are horrendous at dealing with counter attacks. They sort of run after the man for a bit and then drop off suddenly. They are much better at defending against possession based attacks - but all this means is that the team with low possession playing on the counter gets chance after chance.
