Put $10 on Bournemouth to beat Middlesbrough as well and they're 2-0 up.

The halfway mark of the 2019-2020 Premier League season and we're in with a very good shout of ending our title drought. Obviously there's still a long way to go, but we've definitely been the best side so far.

We'd be top only we had the small matter of going to Algeria for the FIFA Club World Cup, which we of course won in swashbuckling fashion. We also added the Super Cup to our trophy cabinet after beating PSG on penalties at the start of the season. I was very disappointed to go out of the Capital One Cup against Wolves who are struggling in the Sky Bet Championship. We dominated, but they hung on and in extra time David Alaba was sent off for a second bookable offence and then Romelu Lukaku was injured which left us with 9 players for a half hour.

We cruised through our Champions League group as you can see and were unfortunate not to beat Dinamo and Zenit away from home. We'll play PSG in the next round with the first leg in Paris. We've been handed a comfortable third round tie in the FA Cup against Millwall at Old Trafford and I fully expect us to beat them.

You would have read above that David Alaba was sent off against Wolves in the Capital One Cup. We signed the Austrian international in the summer for a fee of £35 million to strengthen our squad. He can play at left back, as a left winger or central midfielder and no doubt his versatility will come in handy as we push for more silverware.

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x328/caoimhin89/Theatre%20of%20Dreams/BRUMA_zpse7dgj0hy.png

We made one more signing during the summer and that was Galatasaray winger Bruma who has turned out to be an inspired signing at just £12 million. I originally took the gamble as Angel Di Maria, Mario Gotze and Gareth Bale tend to pick up injuries so I wanted some cover if that did happen and well he's been fantastic at times.

Anderlecht are basically telling you they don't want to sell him.

If they say £28 million offer much less, maybe £5 million and see what they say.

Who are you playing as?

Wow, Congrats on winning the Champions League Decent league position How many goals have James Wilson, scored this season?

Thanks Johno!!

Last season he scored 27 in all competitions in 47 appearances.

So far he's scored 81 goals in 155 Premier League appearances. When you take into account that in my first and second season at the club he was behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie that record is really good.

He's also scored 21 times for England in just 28 appearances and he's only 24 years old.

Loving this mate, keep up the good work! I'd love to bring Bale to Liverpool on my game, but can't see it happening. Madrid are insistent on keeping him.

Good luck!

Thanks lad

I managed to raise about £40 million during the summer through player sales and paid £80 million for him. He certainly won't come cheap from Madrid man, but honestly he's definitely worth every penny spent.

- Costa vs Burnley (No penalty called, resulted in Costa being booked for diving)
- Terry & Ivanovic vs Man Utd (Both being held at the same time by Smalling and Rojo at a corner, both penalties, neither called)
- Fabregas vs Southampton (Cesc clearly fouled while controlling the ball, no penalty, booked for diving)
- Costa vs Liverpool (Costa does Skrtel who makes a challenge and gets all man and no ball, no penalty given)
- Ivanovic & Costa vs Burnley (Ivanovic's strike hand balled by defender who was a considerable distance away and had his hands up in a non-natural position after jumping to block the shot, penalty waved away. Costa cuts back inside and the defender shoves him in the back once he's beaten, no penalty given)

Costa v Burnley can't recall that penalty incident and can't find anything on YouTube.

Terry & Ivanovic is really something that every team suffers from don't they? I mean who is holding who inside the box? Either way Chelsea do this as much as anyone else and get away with it so it evens itself out.

Fabregas vs Southampton wasn't a stonewall penalty at all and in fact the more you look at it on a replay it looks like Fabregas puts his leg into the defender initiating the contact and going down. Do you see them given? Yes, definitely, just not that weekend.

Costa vs Liverpool was probably you're clearest penalty decision. Definitely a penalty, no doubt about that.

Ivanovic & Costa vs Burnley both very hit or miss appeals. The Ivanovic one, you see them given sometimes and sometimes you don't, I mean Chelsea got one against PSG that was similar. Hand in an awkward "unnatural" spot and referee gave the penalty for it. The tackle by Shacknell wasn't very much, he put his hands on Costa and he flopped to the ground and the referee probably got it right.

I'd like to believe there isn't. (Top)

And while it's probably unlikely, it also wouldn't shock me if there was. (Bottom).

Hardly anything contradicting, which is what I am assuming you're trying to pick at.

Naturally, you'd like to think not. However, having watched some of the decisions that haven't been called do make you wonder, purely on the basis of just how blatant they are- in relation to the penalty situation. While it's not a hidden secret that the FA and Chelsea haven't always been on the same page. 50/50 calls in general are the nature of the beast, we've certainly gotten our rub of the green a few times this season with the likes of Costa and Cahill not being sent off when they should have at times. While also getting some not go our way like Tim Howard handling outside the box early in the season, Costa, Fabregas, Willian booked for diving when clearly fouled. Those you take on the chin because you know they'll come back around eventually.

The non penalties though, somethings gotta give. For this sort of thing to happen as often as it has this season, it seems a little rich. One or two calls, I can understand. Officials make mistakes, miss things, etc. But not when it's been this often and clear;

About a month ago the average time it took Chelsea to win a penalty (EPL) was 13 games, compared to Man City who were getting one every 3.7 games. Martin Samuel had a interesting piece here which highlights it a bit more. I could understand a low count if we weren't an attacking side but we've currently kicked 58 goals in the league, 1 behind Man City and 3 ahead of Arsenal. History and stats show that with that sort of output the number of penalties this season have been considerably low.

I suppose to sum up what you originally asked. While unlikely, I wouldn't be surprised.

Edit: spelling

Jesus christ

EDIT: Out of all this conspiracy nonsense you've basically 6 penalties you believe you've not been given in what 29 games?

Wow, I know you have a good squad, but I didn't expect it to be that easy in the final!

Wilson looks pretty good, I might have to check him out in the future.

I didn't expect it to be that easy either, I mean in the group stages they beat us 4-0 in Italy.

Heading into the final we were unbeaten in eight games and had won seven of those eight so I was fairly confident we stood a good chance. In the end we showed up and they didn't, I mean it could have finished 5-0 on the night. I'm actually chuffed Gareth Bale got the goals for us, almost justifies paying that whooping £80 million for him

James Wilson is without a doubt worth purchasing if possible

The most expensive signing in our history has come up with the goods in the biggest club game in world football. This was an absolutely dream performance from the side and we dominated Juventus from start to finish. When we were awarded a penalty I was ecstatic, but then James Wilson hit the post and the Italian side got to half time at 0-0. I was starting to worry that maybe we'd waste more chances and they'd snatch a goal. Step up Gareth Bale who netted twice in the second half to secure our fourth Champions League crown, our first since 2008.

Two against Burnley very recently that were bizarrely not given, but I don't think it's a Chelsea only issue. The referees are fucking absolutely horrid most of the time and seem to bottle making decisions.

Although it's our highest Premier League finish since I arrived at Old Trafford this really is a what could have been moment. Draws at home to Crystal Palace, Stoke and Newcastle United cost us the Premier League title in the end. Had we picked up those extra six points we'd have finished above Arsenal and been crowned champions of England. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, but at least we've the Champions League final to look forward to.

I'm not sure what to say right about now. We've beaten Arsenal and we'll meet Juventus at the Olympiastadion on June 8th for the biggest prize in club football. A third consecutive clean sheet at Old Trafford in the Champions League has laid the platform for us to overcome the next Manchester United side to win this competition.

I think you'd say after this result it's advantage Manchester United. A tight affair at the Emirates with very few chances for both sides attackers to feed off and in the end one tackle on Juan Mata probably changed the course of the game. The Spaniard was clattered, was extremely tired so I boldly decided to bring on Angel Di Maria in midfield instead of Martin Odegaard. In the end it turned out to be an inspired substitution as the Argentine international scored what could yet prove to be a crucial away goal ahead of the return leg at Old Trafford in six days time.

A four year stranglehold by Chelsea on the Premier League title appears likely to come to an end this season. Unfortunately it won't be us ending it, but fierce rivals Arsenal who interestingly we'll face in the Champions League semi final. The Gunners have been powered this season by Edison Cavani who has scored a ridiculous 29 goals in the Premier League so far. We're pretty much guaranteed to qualify for next seasons Champions League and I've not given up on finishing in second after taking a wee peak at Chelsea's remaining three league fixtures. The Blues will play us and Liverpool at the Zola Arena with a game against Arsenal at the Emirates in between them.

I've never been massively fond of the away goals rule until now really. I'm not sure Romelu Lukaku will ever score a more important goal for the club in his time at Old Trafford after his penalty at the Bernabeu gave us hope of turning around a first leg deficit. In the end two goals in two minutes from Adnan Januzaj and Gareth Bale was enough.

They dominated the first leg and could have won by more, they didn't and in the return leg we battered them. They came to defend in a 4-5-1 formation, but we blew them off the park and have now set up a Champions League semi final with Arsenal. The first leg will be played at the Emirates and again it's all about getting that away goal.

After practically two flawless performances we've beaten Bayern Munich and booked a very tough quarter final showdown with Spanish giants Real Madrid. The first leg went exactly how I'd planned, although I'd have loved to have taken more than a one goal advantage to the Allianz Arena. In the end we may have sacrificed most of the possession, but as you can see we clearly had the better chances and should have won the game in Munich. In the end it finished 1-1 on the night and we advanced 2-1 on aggregate, our place in the next round secure after James Wilson scored four minutes after the restart to leave the home fans in utter disbelief inside the Allianz Arena.
