#346318 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

One way ticket to Lithuania.

Penultimate game of my Lincoln career ended in success as a brace from Romário brought the Pepe Reyes cup back to our trophy cabinet.
Where to next?

One final game to close another chapter in my career.

Red card killed the game, shattering our European prospects. That said it's an impressive feat for a Gibraltarian team to get this far.
Also decided to invest the prize money to new gadgets and gizmos for the youth.

600 kilometers north to Madrid and we were desperately unfortunate. Took a gamble when we got the goal back to switch to an attacking style of play for a second away goal, but got nabbed late on. A glimmer, just a glimmer of hope for the return leg.

Out, but not disgraced as we threw the kitchen sink at them. Came close on a number of occasions but the door stayed upright.
One last stab at European qualification. Although Rayo Vallecano aren't the best Spanish side in reality, they've a player worth £15m. Putting that in perspective, our top valued player is worth £50k.

Despite Mixirica saving a penalty, Maccabi were too strong for us. Tough is the appropriate word as we'll need two goals minimum in Israel.

A momentous achievement as Jefferson sinks Flora to book a place in the next round. We're in the record books as being the first Gibraltarian side to make it past the second qualifying phase of the Champions League.
Israeli side Maccabi Tel-Aviv will be a huge test.

A warm reception greeted me in Estonia as we smashed and grabbed an away goal victory to take back to Gibraltar. Mixirica played well in front of the posts, but Flora were firing from ridiculous ranges to even count them as shots on goal.

Largely rotated team playing contain and take a breather. Not really bothered about the result.
Forgot to take the screenshot but we now face one of my former clubs Flora Tallinn in the next round.

Our team were dead with fatigue, playing with 60% condition, and still ran circles around them.

Blessed with the easiest team in the draw, Sammarinese team Faetano.

Thankfully resolved without further complications. Bit of a nest egg in there too, wiping our bad debt.
Paving the way for Doukakis to rejoin us on loan for another year.

Oh, what a bloody surprise. Have to go through my umpteenth takeover.

Ransacked awards night, both for individuals, team and management.
Doukakis had an outstanding season, recognised with the Player of the Year plus the U19 Player of the Year awards.
Brendon Rodrigues, also on the same wavelength, scooped the Young Player of the Season.
A stalwart defensive core allowed Mixirica to take Golden Glove for an amazing 16 clean sheets in 27 league matches.
Doriva, Raimundo and Miladin among the others to feature in team of the year, which is odd since I usually played Raimundo as a right back.
And the manager...?
Was it ever in doubt?

Closing out May with a few awards.

Surprising to see that Brendon Rodrigues got the fans' approval, although I agree he had a superb season overall. What a season for the Greek duo Doukakis and Koutromanos, bagging 28 goals between them. Credit also goes to right winger, Oscar Lozano, breaking his way into the first team and assisting 14 times too.

Ending on a high.
Won the league by 7 points in the end.

You know, naturally I'd be throwing bottles around the dressing room after collapsing from 3-1 up, but instead I'm cracking open the bottles of champagne. Gibraltar belongs to Lincoln again!
f.y.i. Europa lost before us, so we were already confirmed champions regardless of this result.

Almost caved in after bombarding their goal, but Plakalo knows when to score important goals. One more point and we're there!
#345146 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

I repeat, I DESPISE Europa. Snatched an equaliser right at the death to prevent us sealing the title there and then. The silver lining however, avoiding defeat means we maintain a six point advantage with three games left.

Gutted. I hate Europa.
#345101 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

Quite stunned by the magnitude of this win, we were high on something strong by the looks of it. Onward to the final.
Date with destiny.

Not the news I wanted to see, our number one 'keeper is out for the rest of the season.

Speedy González had to ruin a perfect XI for us.

#345057 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

Sucker punched here by Britannia XI, with two wonder goals in two minutes from Leon Collins, both from 25+ yards out. With Europa winning elsewhere, the pressure is increasing.
#345055 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

Probably one of our worst performances against an inferior Gibraltar Phoenix side. Almost got caught on the break several times, extra time was a kind result after those 90 minutes. Eventually turned on the afterburners where Koutromanos planted the winning blow. All credit to our opponents who really should have won this.
Manchester 62 stand in our way to make the final.

I'd like to dedicate this victory to Kevin Fernández, for without his amazing own goal, we'd have not got off the mark in this game.

Fifth meeting, fifth win.
6 clear with 7 games left. Almost at the promised land.
