#347647 Climbing Jacob's Ladder (formerly Magnifying Glacis)

Bitter blow as our only trustworthy striker falls victim to another injury.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, I decided to strengthen key areas with some fresh talent.
Marius Popa - unattached
The Romanian right back will fill in as a backup for Aleksandravicius who is getting jaded, plus not having another option. His pace is what we need for being a decent wing back, however his technicals need a lot of work.
Kirill Rybin - £29k from Krasnodar (fee rising to £75k)
Had my eye on this guy for a bit, but didn't have sufficient funds to match an asking price at the time. This guy may be our answer to a defensive mid: brave, good tackling, excellent passing and maintains his fitness extremely well. The addition of Rybin could complement Suslov's midfield movement perfectly.
Róbson - £20k from Trakai (fee rising to £100k)
Well...if you can't beat 'em, sign their best player. A risky payment to part with, but spread out over 4 years, Róbson is now an Atlantas player. Physically, strong attributes all across the board. Technically lacks, but competent at crossing and dribbling for penetrating that right flank. Miles better than Stesko, Gvildys and Zutautas, hopefully a worthwhile investment.

Carrying over from the league position from last year, we're entered into the 2030/31 edition of the Europa League. Our opposition in the First Qualifying Phase is Azerbaijani side, Neftçi.

Dropping points as we head into the summer break is not ideal.

First piece of silverware with Atlantas. Jurgelevicius and Zakharov with the decisive goals.

I just loathe Róbson.

Zu-taut-them a lesson. Thunderbastard from the arc of the D.
Cushioning ourselves nicely as we reach the halfway point of the regular season. Zalgiris are nowhere to be seen.

Mantas Stankevicius to the rescue after a hard fought second half display gets us back to winning ways.

IT ONLY BLOODY WELL HAPPENED AGAIN. Three more injuries adding to the three we already have, turning our physio room into a hospital ward. On top of all that, we didn't even get the three points.

A headline that only tells half of the story. Ilievski had a day to remember for all the wrong reasons; finally scores a goal for us, fifteen minutes later he misses a penalty for us and the pièce de résistance ends up with a potential career ending injury. Not to mention two other injuries for a total of three during the game. Aleksandravicius scoring an unintentional cross-cum-shot before Stesko popped the cherry on top. Mad, mad game.
Physios have their hands full.

I doubt it, I think they'll have faith in Bilic to turn it around. Injuries have been a problem for West Ham.

If they play like this in the cup final, should be easy pickings. Stankevicius been in scintillating form of late.

Through to the Lithuanian cup final. End to end stuff, but clocking up the away goals meant we were always in control of the tie. Siauliai in the final.

First defeat of the season, thoroughly deserved win for Trakai. Failed to take care of danger men Róbson & Juniór and were duly punished.

All three goals were soft, and Bravo isn't showing much of a playmaking goalkeeper role for City. Nervous, clumsy and uncertain.
Disappointed but entertained at the same time.

Took the previous champions, Suduva down a peg. Vanegas is filling the void of Zakharov so far.
Steady start with no scratches, but the most surprising thing is seeing Zalgiris lying bottom of the league.

Think I need a lie down after this game. Dominated the game but our 'keeper had an absolute mare, so much so he managed to score an own goal! Game balance definitely shifted in spells but apart from that, extremely impressive performance from us.

First of two games against Zalgiris within four days in the Lithuanian Cup semi final. Two legs are played in the semis with advantage going to us for the return fixture, thanks to a thunderbastard from Edgaras Grigatis.

Played with great vigour and spirit without Zakharov. Venegas finally opened his account among others.

Vexed. Absolutely vexed.
Adding insult to injury. Quite literally.

Pitch here was in an absolute state, fluffed a lot of chances to take the lead.

I can already sense Evgeny Zakharov will be our important factor this season, him and Suslov link up extremely well.

Easing ourselves in gently, however a draw could have been avoided. Fairly even match though.

Those proddies up to no good as usual!

Recruited a few new faces to the club.
Rokas Stonkus - free transfer from Zalgiris Kaunas
Probably the coolest name I've seen for a while, shame his stats don't match. Certainly no Doukakis, but this deal had been completed before I had arrived. Saving grace really is his pace and the fact we don't have many good left sided wingers.
Jakub Jacek - season-long loan from Legia Warsaw
Promising, young, strong stand-in defender from Poland. Heading, marking and tackling all on par, mentally prudent and physically sufficient. Wouldn't mind him throwing his weight around the field.
Marko Petrovic - free transfer from Zalgiris
Upgrading in our goalkeeper department with a controversial signing from our rivals. Could potentially blossom into a quality 'keeper. Lad was on an amateur deal also so made sense to have him signed, sealed and hopefully can deliver.
Alexandr Suslov - £22k, rising to £25.5k from Zenit St. Petersburg
Delved into the Russian market with my scouts recommending this midfielder. Not mindblowing, but does have first team experience with Zenit's main team and Zenit-2 team and will surely improve under me. Bargain too at under 30 grand.
José Ramón Venegas - free transfer from Sanse
Not my first choice but a handy backup striker to close games out. Composure must be improved, but his recent form suggests that this guy may have something to offer.

@Shedender What? Go back and secure the Gibraltar Rock Cup? I've more important things to do!
