What a load of shit from Wenger. I like him, but wasn't he the first manager to field a 11 without an English person in?

To be fair to him he wasn't complaining that we've been buying foreign players. Just players in general.

Given he's said previously Arsenal will have money to spend on players now, and then in this interview he says they haven't made any official bids for players I don't see how he can complain really. It's not like we're pricing everyone else out of the market with ridiculous fees and contracts, I'd say based on reputation we're getting some good value deals this window (I haven't seen any of the players play regularly if at all and they could always turn out to be a flop).

If he wanted to bring someone in I'm sure he could have identified targets and at least made some offers.

Seems like he's deflecting attention to me.

Personally I think it's extremely harsh on Hazard that he'll be fined for this and banned whilst Swansea will probably escape without punishment despite the incident being caused by a ball boy they've (employed or chosen to do that job).

Yes the rules say you can't touch spectators, ball boys and referees, but some common sense needs to be applied to this, the reaction by the media and some people has been well over the top, you'd swear Hazard had dived two footed at his head the way people are going on about it.

I don't think it's irrelevant to mention what the ball boy did and how it appears he had set out to do it before kick off in this case when related to Hazard's punishment, I mean he's got a level of responsibility for his own actions and he's already accepted that, but this should never have happened and Hazard only carries a certain amount of blame.

If he'd done it to a player who was purposefully time wasting he'd have a red and that'd be the end of it.

You can say he was provoked, but that's no excuse. You wouldn't dispute that Zidane still deserved a red for his headbutt in the World Cup despite being provoked by Materazzi(?). Admittedly it wasn't a clean hit like the headbutt (as in Hazard wasn't going only for the player), but there was no way he wasn't giving the ball boy a kick in the ribs if he wanted to kick the ball out from under him.

Having said that the ball boy shouldn't have done what he did and hopefully Swansea deal with him appropriately.

---------

I really hope Bradford can put up one more good performance. It'd be great to see them make a real contest of the final.

Sky Sports are saying Coloccini was at practice this morning. So looks like someone's got the wrong idea somewhere.

It should be as long as it's not a huge hole in the innertube.

Depending on what caused the puncture you might need to replace the tyre as well. I had a piece of flint go through my front tyre and it made a proper cut in the tyre wall. Most punture should just make a hole that goes between the wires in the tyre, but if the wires get cut then the tyre is more prone to having things pierce through that hole again. Similar to how a needle through clothers doesn't really cause issues, but a bigger cut will make a noticable hole.

Sky Sports are saying Haidara will be signing today as well.

Looking like it could be a good transfer window if we manage to complete these deals.

I struggle to revise as well most of the time. When it gets close to exams the pressure/need to do something finally kicks in.

Personally I like going over Problem Sheets and Past Papers. Working through all the questions again from scratch, without looking at how I previously answered them, unless I get stuck. I tend to use the past paper answers to give me a list of key things to know, try and fit all the important stuff onto two sides of A4.

I'm not sure who easy that would be for some subjects, in terms of what questions you have to go over and how similar exams are from year to year. I do Physics, and the exams tend to have a lot of overlap so that works out pretty well.

I find it helps to do something. Like writing notes out, or condensing them onto flash cards and working through questions. Definitely forces you to concentrate more on what your doing and that helps stop you get distracted as easily

I'm guessing you've read Tor!? That's what I'm reading at the moment, only a third of the way through, but it's good so far.

Are the A Game of Thrones books good? Finally got around to watching the TV programme. And just wondering if they're worth a read, I've never read any sort of fantasy books before.

The Game of Thrones books are well worth reading! The serious is a good adaption of the books but like with a lot of things I think the books are better.

Don't know, I felt that she was lonely. I mean, who the hell calls someone after a party which they went to with their friends. And she was with her friends. I just waited until she got home.

Drunk people!

I got a phone call from the girl I'm seeing at quarter to two after she'd been at a work party on friday. I was so tired I'm not even sure what we talked about

Fabregas and Henry gave us everything during there time here and didn't leave our greatest rivals (bar Tottenham). I was gutted to see Cesc leave, as you'd expect, but any reasonable fan couldn't begrudge him a move to the best team in the world who also were his hometown club. van Persie, on the other hand, spent a huge chunk of his career at Arsenal injured, where we stood by him and offered him new contracts, and once he finally reached his potential he turned his back on the club, on Wenger, and left. Wenger made him the player he is and he repaid him and the club by humiliating them with that statement in July. I can understand why he would want to go and win trophies but surely you can understand why Arsenal fans are bitter as to how he handled the entire situation? Henry and Fabregas will always be welcomed back at Arsenal, as they gave their best years to the club, but van Persie will forever be remembered for joining United.

I don't hate him, and I don't wish serious injury on him, but I feel a great dislike for him - which is surely understandable.

I see your point about the club the players going to making a difference. Out of curiosity what do Arsenal fans think about Gallas going to Tottenham? I guess as he left the club when his contract ran out and he'd had some issues with the club (losing the captaincy etc.) then it's not as bad a situation?

Surely Fabregas didn't give his best years to Arsenal, he moved to Barca at 24. You could make the argument that, like Van Persie, Arsenal developed him and he left the club after reaching his full potential.

It's a bit of an odd thing for me to relate to, Newcastle never seem to sell players directly to Sunderland. At least not big name players we'd rather keep hold of.

If it goes ahead, and I mean, goes ahead. Will the countries with host cities gain qualification automatically? If so, i'd back any Welsh bid as it's the only way we'd get there

I hope (and assume) not, otherwise there could be quite a few nations qualifying automatically.

I'd have thought Wales could end up having a chance of qualifying for the Euro's since there increasing the number of teams participating to 24. Depending on the qualifying group I'd have thought you'd have a chance.

Marvauex was fucking awesome last night too, we played really well - admittedly against 10 men of Wigan.

I thought the foul was a penalty but never a red, penalty was punishment enough.

Yeah Marvauex looked like he could be the guy to bring a spark to the side when Ben Arfa's not playing. Really impressed with him, hopefully he can avoid injuries now, at the very least he's looks like he could be a better impact player off the bench than Obertan.

Pardews hopefully the three guys that went off injured last night (Tiote, Santon, Ba) could be fit for Fulham next Monday. We could really do with that, and getting through the Bordeaux game without an injury as well.

He came on the other day too.

I think we gave him a 5 year deal, so we're pretty much stuck with him. Apparently he's been a lot better recently too, actually turning up to training on time and staying out of trouble. Was pretty good when he was coming through in the Championship tbf.

Yeah he was decent in the Championship. If he sorts himself out maybe he can develop into a good player for us.

I dunno, routinely standing on peoples ankles on their standing leg is far more dangerous for me.

I may be wrong but I can't think of a Scholes tackle that has ever injured anyone. He can tackle, he just likes to foul people as well. He seems to enjoy going in when he's got no chance of taking the ball just so he can take someone out. Other times he'll take the ball but makes sure he gets a fair bit of the man at the same time. His red card in the FA Cup Semi was a bad foul but he was going for the ball, he just left his foot in and made sure he caught Zabaleta on the follow through. Loads of older players are like that though, it's just the standard 'let him know you're there' old school style. He is dirty though.

So Scholes fouls people intentionally and it's ok because he's an older player

But you criticise Suarez for everything he's involved with. Don't get me wrong he's definitely been guilty of some really dirty acts on the pitch, but some (not all) of the stamps to me look like he's genuinely losing balance and happens to step on the opposition player. I can see what Abbot means about pantomime villain from that, it seems even when he does something good people are always careful to point out he's a dirty player.

Everyone goes on about the Liverpool fans on here being overly defensive, but the amount of shite gets thrown at them you can hardly blame them.

It's ridiculous how a talented and exciting driver with a relatively large fan base like Kobayashi can get booted by someone who's largely unknown just due to sponsorship reasons.

It depends whether they think Kobayashi has reached his ceiling, and whether they can make big steps in car development relative to their competitors.

The increased money they bring in from sponsorship could be what they need to make the next step. They've got Hulkenberg who has shown flashes when he's had a car that's competitive (e.g. this weekend just gone) and they've lost Perez who was bringing in a big chunk of sponsorship money himself. So probably just to have the same budget as last year they needed to have a driver who was bringing in big sponsorship money, they lose income they probably end doing worse on the circuit and losing themselves income the following year. Starting a downward trend.

Really I think it should be looked as Gutierrez replacing Perez as their sponsorship driver and Hulkenberg replacing Kobayashi as their (presumably) paid 'No.1/established' driver. If you look at it like that it doesn't seem like such a bad decision.

Watched that King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters documentary over the weekend. Loads of the people in it were total douchebags, and the subject matter was pretty stupid too, but it was really exciting and had me cheering at the end. Liked it quite a lot, getting into proper documentaries at the moment.

Any people would recommend?

I watched "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town". I think it would be a good watch even if you aren't a Springsteen fan.

-----------------------------------

I watched Any Given Sunday the other day. I thought it was a reasonable decent watch and tackled quite a few of the issues with American Football (despite being 13 years old). I think they probably tried to fit too many different things in at the same time, it felt like it lacked in focus a little bit.

Going to start volunteering at a charity shop. May as well, hate not having anything to do. It'll cost me so much on JSA though for transport, considering I'm paying £15 as rent to my mother, £15 on savings for uni, and a weekly bus ticket is £20, £10 left for my phone and food. I'm not allowed to get any kind of transport or lunch expenses because that counts as 'compensation' for the work I do, so I'd have to quit my benefits.

If only I wasn't totally unemployable.

Can you noy find a temping agency near you? A couple of my mates got quite a bit of work through them in the Uni holidays. It's not exciting or anything, but apparently they got pretty decent tips working some of the more exclusive bars at Ascot Racecourse.

Given our (Ravens) performances on the road it's still not a slam dunk win, but it's definitely a big boost for us.

I've not got the new game. But even on FM12 I've found when you first join a club you struggle to impact the players, they need time to grow to respect you and listen to what you have to say. Having said that I've found pre-match team talks the hardest to have an impact with anyways. Maybe it's something similar on the new game.

They certainly had terrible value for money back when I still paid attention to media players.

I got one of the classics pretty recently. For the size they're pretty reasonably priced, the few that are a similar size have hit and miss reviews.

I don't know about any of the other models though.
