I think it's a case of people who haven't seen him enough and think he's world class based on last year overrating him. He's got a lot potential, and I mean a lot, but he's no where near as good as some people are making out atm

Well yeah, he could stay there for next 10 years and it only works out 3 million a year + wages, which isn't too bad

Waiting for people to come out and criticize how Rodgers has handled it..

Also the guy on Sky Sports saying he's worth 35-40 million. While I agree he won't go for much less if we do sell him, he's worth half that at best

I know the feeling.

If you can't sleep I suggest doing something that'll keep you from thinking too much, like playing video games or going for a jog, or listening to a podcast.

Or masturbating.

You can praise him for performing well the year before. But it certainly wasn't mainly him. Not saying I'm blaming him for the team's performances, but I can be annoyed with him for his own performance and not trying enough. Again, he's had rest (maybe not quite sufficient), but it's not like he's been ground to nothing. He was only playing so much because of necessity and I'd also argue the exposure to the first team was the reason for his development. Do you really think if he went somewhere like City or Chelsea two years ago he'd have played? Playing him as a wingback, about 3 times if that. Again out of necessity, nobody expected him to perform there, but he actually did all right when he did have to play there. While I agree the mixing of his positions has not been the best, I'm going to go back to the point that it was out of necessity - Sturridge's injury, lack of quality players in that position etc.

Sterling was good the year before, but don't pin it all on him. Also other than him having a holiday in the middle of the season, he's also been rested numerous times. He's a footballer ffs don't give him a cheap excuse to blame his poor performances.

Okay cool, I'll agree with that then. Even though it's a bit stupid for me but yeah.

The same shit team almost won the league last year, no I don't expect him to drag us 'by the scruff of the neck', but playing decent would be a start.

And so basically every team that isn't Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern Munich are a stepping stone in some form then.

Except, saying that is completely different You're just using players we signed to try prove a point The similar thing about Sterling and say Sinclair, is Sinclair, went there as a youngster (23 I think he was but still in early part of his career) and was never given a chance. The likes of Sahin etc were given a chance, they just never really fitted into the team / weren't good enough. For Sinclair completely killed his career and now he can barely get into a Villa team. As for starting over Navas, I'm not even going to pretend I watch Navas enough, but I don't think it would be such a sure thing.

As for trophies etc, if that's the case, where the fuck was he against Chelsea in the league cup? Or Villa? Or any of the European games tbf. As for being in Europe, yeah I guess he'll get his 6 games in the group stages each year.

Are you comparing us to Southampton? Also no, we have a choice, but no, we don't have to sell.

Actually going on from it, a stepping stone club is someone where a player only really joins to move onto a bigger club in the future. Which one of our players has done that? Suarez? Again we didn't have to sell him, was a choice (whether a bad one or not that's another thing) after the bad publicity he brought to the club. No idea where you're getting the stepping club tag from, as I don't remember any players that signed here with the aim to leave another club down the line. Maybe Torrres? But that was a weird transfer

It's a vary similar situation actually, no matter how much better Sterling is. Fucking ran him into the grand, he's a football player ffs, wanting 100k a week, let's not be ridiculous. Plus the only reason he played so much is cause Sturridge was out and the rest are shit.

Stepping club my arse. Plus what exactly is he going to accomplish at another club? Playing his 5 games to get a winners medal at Chelsea? Yeah that's top for his development.

Don't be so stupid. Had it not been for Rodgers actually playing him 'so much', i.e going to a club like City, he would have ended up like your Sinclair etc or still be rotting in reserves without a game to his name. I think the fact Rodgers gave him a break in the middle of the season is anything something Sterling should have some respect for, there isn't any senior players who would get that sort of treatment yet alone a 20 year old who's forms been shit.

I don't think anyone begrudges him if he does eventually leave, or even if he left this year without being a total cunt about it. But Flash hit the nail on the head, he's "just broke into the team within the last 2 years and he wants to jump ship already when he's only 20 and has done fuck all yet".

Actually found this but trying to find the catch? The only thing I found is the FX-withdrawall fee of 2.5 percent, am I right in thinking this is only, say I get a Euro filled card, it will only charge this when I try to buy something in UK/non euro currency?

Seems way to sweet a deal..

Nobody is even saying we are good enough or that he'll become a world class player, and I could argue about that but I won't. It's more with how he's come out with it all, plus I don't think you can argue that right now, for the next year or two this club is the best for his development. Also seen some stuff like he doesn't owe Liverpool anything, well actually if anything, he's a prime example of a player who owes some loyalty to a club. The trust Rodgers showed in him has been immense.

Try looking at splitting your journey, sometimes works out a lot cheaper. I booked my trains to go Manchester early, they're going for ridiculous ammounts now.

Anyone able to give some advice on using a card abroad? I'm going Germany on the 1st of June for 2 months, so need like £1000 but taking it all in cash seems like just a bad idea. Main card on Barclays, 3% fee for using it abroad, is that decent or are there better options?

Fabregas'? Charlie Adam broke his nose with a solid elbow.

As for Sterling, he'd get a game at Chelsea. We lack another scoring wide player to take the burden off Hazard a little. A simple rejig of Willian moving central, where he plays better and a wide player coming in strengthens us further. Oscar can either move to the bench or be sold, I could care less at this point.

Why does he only wear it sometimes? I recall him wearing it in the first half against us then had it off for the second.

You might as well all start putting the bids in for him, the sooner the better!

Rodgers isn't a 'crackpot manager'. I'm not saying he's the saviour or anything, but he's clearly has an idea of what he wants us to play and is implementing it. He's made some stupid decision in that time and he's very frustrating but he's better than the Hodgon and Dalglish we've had for years. Also Sterling won't become world class if he continues the way he has. I don't know whether it's his agent advising him wrong or whether he's letting fame get to him but he's not as good as he thinks he is. I think cause people remember last year plus he was okay at the world cup (where his highlight was hitting the side netting against Italy) they're automatically think he'll become a good player. There's been plenty like him before that showed similar potential only to never realize it. I'd argue were the best option for him as he is guaranteed to play every week, Rodgers even let him have a week off for a holiday ffs. He wont get anywhere near the amount of games at another club and that's a fact.

Also if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle. The fact is we have put in two better challenges than you have in those years and I think it's unfair to call it all on Suarez/Torres. Yeah they were world class players but putting it all on them is a little unfair on the rest of the team. We've also had some decent teams down the years, with Alonso, Mascherano, Torres etc and last year Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, so no, it wasn't just hinged on one or two players/

And as for signings world class players, again it's something I'd argue about. I'd agree we probably haven't got as much pulling power as you at the moment, but it's nowhere near as bad as you make out. If we were to splash the cash we'd be able to get some of the players mentioned (not sure if they'd actually be our targets considering Rodgers weird transfer dealings but that's another discussion completely). I'd also argue you only signed Ozil and Sanchez as they were already on the way out from a way bigger club and wasn't really in competition for them (well maybe we were interested in Sanchez but would you call that competition?).

There's been better players than Sterling who left the club at worst times. It's not as bad as made out. We just need to get the right signings this time, the likes of Lallana and Markovic are actually decent and should settle in more. Oh and sort out Sturridge.

Cry me a river.

Woeful team, its basically the same side that almost won the league, now Suarez didnt have a problem playing in that woeful team and being decent.

Also hes played up front cause with Sturridge out he qas our best option there. And he actually looked decent up there for a while until he decided to be a whiny little prick. Hed never get into Joses side cause he doesnt work hard enough and track back, plus hes actually very wasteful with the ball. At City hell end up like every other Sinclair etc player they signed. No idea where the Bayern link is coming from but he wont fit into that team at all imo, let alone all the different league, country etc bullshit.

The thing is hes actually got potential to be a decent player, had it not been for letting all the fame get to him. Hes had one good season and thinks hes the gods gift. Ill be glad to see the back off him with all this bullshit hes spouting after Rodgers showed immense trust in him.

Yes, that 4th place finish for years must have been such a proud achievement. Plus one trophy (well you might make it 2 this year) for 10 years is a great record. Youre also making it sound like youve had no cash, yet weve splashed about splashed about, when our spending has been low key on average and not really splashed much on one player (other than Carroll but the less said the better). Pre Benitez leaving era (after which we had a massive dip - in stature and football terms, with the new owners only just about clearing the bullshit), I think an FA cup, Champions League, plus a couple semis and quaters was a decent return for such a poor club. Yeah league has always been an achilles but thats another story, and Id argue we came closer to challenging for it than you have in the last decade (last year and 2009).

Edit: My bad with spelling, was on my phone
