I think in terms of our starting XI left back could definitely be improved, while we still don't have a replacement for Janmaat if he's injured/suspended.

Colback I don't think is good enough to be starting if we're to seriously challenge the top 8, and Coloccini is obviously in decline given his age.

A top class DM, LB and CB in January would be excellent and then we can go about improving our defensive depth and attacking quality further next summer.

Good window, nothing exceptional but we needed it.

Defence still looks poor on paper but it's looked much better on the pitch than under Pardew/Carver so far.

Would have liked another CM too, but never mind. Fingers crossed we continue this and strengthen in January and then again next summer instead of ruining our good work like we normally do.

We did, yeah.

Still had at least 6 very, very good chance including that incorrectly disallowed goal. I don't think we were brilliant, but on another day we'd have won comfortably. It happens.

Also going by how much Poe moans about him Coloccini had a very out of character stormer.

Was like a return to 2012 Coloccini, what a guy 2012 Coloccini was.

Hopefully he keeps it up.

People that say should of are normally talking in a dialect, but then typing too quickly to realise what they're actually saying doesn't make a jot of sense.

If I typed how I actually spoke I'd have been sectioned by now I think.

Yeah, but we should be moving forward, not continually selling players and replacing them. Wijnaldum isn't a Sissoko replacement, he's a completely different player and adds more quality to a squad which was awful last year.

Buy players to add to the squad and strengthen it.

I hate the whole we need to sell Williamson before buying another centre back carry on too - just don't register him? He's clearly not good enough for the Premier League so why do we NEED to register him if he's here?

Europe's 4th biggest net spend and still moaning about a rumour that never looked in the slightest bit concrete.

I'd be more than happy to see him leave as his attitude is awful at times but I just know he wouldn't be replaced.

We bought heavily last year, didn't stop them selling two players we could have done with in the run in towards relegation.

Hopefully things have actually changed, as you can't really fault the club and the way it's ran since McClaren arrived, but can't really blame people for the pessimism after the last few seasons.

Would like us to sign a pair of full backs and Abdennour but I don't think we'll get the full backs.

Could finish 10th if we do though which would be alright. Still far off challenging for Europa League/winning a cup though.

I can't actually recollect when I first joined.. I remember running the first SQL when I was doing my emergency med posting which was late 2002 - early 2003 or thereabouts.

Random memories on Susie include:
- excitement when appointed mod together with Jono and Captn Blade
- running the series of SQLs. Didn't expect much from them so pleasantly surprised that they went down relatively well
- debating 'weighty' issues esp over anti-Americanism with Uncle Sam (it was Bush's neocon era afterall)
- sadness when the original Susie closed. First time it struck me how much I had invested in it and how much it meant to me
- making friends with fantastic people including JP, THOTW and erm, Fantastic
- taking the piss out of Stan Petrov and VP. Looking back it was rather childish of a 30-something like me, and I'm not too proud of myself over this

Yup, so I'm 42 now. Life has moved on. Bought FM2014 but found that it's getting more convoluted for my taste so didn't play much. Still into quizzing though.

All in all, nice memories

THOTW now theres a blast from the past.

Tbf we beat them 2-0 a few year ago with less.

I think we could do with a DM but in terms of AMC's we're fine.

Not that possession means anything, or signing different midfielders would change anything.
