Great work, as always Flut and good contributions from Rosek, R Charlston, Magical, Evil-Muffin7 and mac boss. There are those out that say the Flutskin is “too busy” or has “too much information” !! You cannot have too much information in FM ! Some also claim certain rival skins as “the best”, when they are just pimped versions of the default. No, there is no other skin out there that comes close to the Flutskin, especially as Rick with his Andromeda skin has quit. Each to their own I guess but I know where my preference and loyalty lies.

There is no Winter ball for the new EPL ball. It was intended for the second half of the season but arrived late, so no seasonal ball is available. Maybe it will be for next season, we'll wait and see. If so, I'll make a Winter version. Individual requests are one thing but I'm generally only interested in accuracy.

The reason the VAR got all “messed up” and crashes occurred is because “simatch.fmf” which contains the “matchevents.xml" and matchcfg.xml" files, will need to be edited for the live commentary to work instead of replaced with an “older version”.
In previous versions they could be just replaced with the “commentary files” from previous versions and it would work, now they need to be manually edited (which is a lot of work)…………….

When I reviewed, I noticed there is a portion with “VAR related code” and some other added code throughout the new file. So I'm now (slowly but surely) manually restoring the commentary code into the new files, without touching the newly added code and VAR code. This should add the commentary and prevent VAR issues and/or crashes.

As I'm still working on this I haven't been able to test it, but pretty sure this is the actual issue.

I haven't opened the “simatch.fmf” to compare yet, as I was using my modified separate config files but it seems you're on the right track. Another element that I've noted with using the commentary pack being that if you choose to watch a league/completion highlights post match, FM will CTD after the second/third game replayed.

I've found the best way to stop kit anomalies is to delete any competition specific kits (FA Cup,Carabao Cup,Champions League etc) and just have the one with no competition attached. This will then show up in every game, regardless of any competition. It can be done via the editor but that does mean having to start a new game. The easiest way is to use the kit editor in the IGE and that works with your saved game file, so no loss of progress and career.

It's official ball 3 on epl. Can you work on this too?I always thought your work was great.

I made that ball at the beginning of the season. It was intended to be used in the second half of the season but has only appeared recently, two thirds of the way into the season. I'll be back later today. I also apologise for any typing errors, leading to some balls not appearing. That can happen when it's a collaboration and I didn't check for errors in every instance.

If you ever put anything negative on their forum it gets deleted, over the last 5 years or so they have shown arrogance and contempt to the customer base

such a shame and a far cry from the collyer brothers original vision of a football game for football fans

i still have the original domark red box Amiga game, 92 I think it was, that game affected my revision!

I've had two strikes on Si in the past lol ! The moderators are robots, working to a format. I noticed this year they're using blogs to answer questions, so it saves them having to roll out the same old crap like delete your preferences, verify your game files, update your graphics driver etc, like we're clueless and besides which, rarely cures the issue.

I'm fairly certain there are no viable alternatives or I'd definitely have heard of them and investigated. FM appears to have the monopoly and as you say that's not ideal.

@bartdude agree with this, SI put out a 70%finished game and expect buyers to use mods to finish it.

it’s like Mercedes selling cars without an engine or wheels, these need to be added later……

SI need competition, when Domark first released CM there were several other alternatives like Football Director, USM, FIFA manager etc, none of these really progressed in the same way

lets face it FM21 is a really big database overlaid with average graphics (base game) that is then enhanced by guys like bolid, Flut, rabcp to name few.

Si has clearly decided that the majority of FM21 sales have been made, the money is in the bank, so we can whistle for any more changes. Of course they'll ramp it up again in September, telling us that FM22 will be the best FM ever ! I have come up with a work around for the video ads and have split adboards longer than 15 seconds into multiple files, it is not ideal and will make coding and file management a pain but it is better than nothing as it does not look like SI will address the issue...

From my testing that seems to the issue, unless you can provide an example of which ads you think are too fast?

Edit: having looked at some newer video boards I have just made is seems like the game is skipping parts of the animation and not playing the video board in full, I’ll investigate this further, I wonder if SI have placed some restrictions into the game or changed the formatting 🙈

Yes, the anomalies are strange. I too have also noted not all video boards play in full. Also in FM20, when it moved to the next highlight, the previous video board would initially appear but in FM21, a new board will show, so as you suggest, the formatting is different.

You do not need to open the file, just follow the installation instructions in the read me of the view the video on the first post of this thread.

In FM21 the video adboard speed is now linked to the 'match speed during highlights' setting, the faster this setting is then the faster the adboard’s run, I would advise you to set this speed to the middle setting for the ads to display at their intended speed.

I only ever run FM in real time, it looks ridiculous running it slower or especialy faster, so that's not the issue.
