@Dan, at least you're good in one format ha, my team aren't great on either.

@r96Skinner, it was always going to happen at some point, but after the start we had, it was disappointing to see

@bigmattb28, it's a good thing for the football club I guess, but if the residents of York aren't on board, it's going to always struggle.

Jordan Ponticelli // ST/AMR // Coventry City // Loan
https://i.imgur.com/anYtGir.png

Jordan has come in to give us more depth on the right and up top. I'm hoping he can chip in with some assists, and hopefully, some goals too. He's here to gain first-team experience and we will give him the opportunity to improve so he can go back to Coventry a better player.

Russ Griffiths // GK // Free Transfer
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vjdvy5H2fxTKXPYdJSVYbbhxOmWZC1rN2F6P78GN.png

Russ joins on a free transfer and immediately improves our GK options. He's the instant number one and impressed me last season as he was with Chester City. Here's hoping he puts in a number of decent showings for us.

Paul Lewis // CM // Free Transfer
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YXkHHvN0wDRPs3ZnuEIXLiIepgn5xbCYSmIEhzRE.png

Paul was recommended to me by my Chief Scout, and I jumped at the chance to sign him. He's got immense quality for a National League team, and we needed reinforcements in the middle of the park. He's a box-to-box midfielder and I hope he can be an outstanding player for us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/exFN5wCZHFlNBoQ4eoPilHiHWEsHQdOzaun4EmnE.png

The poor form continues as we slump to our 5th straight defeat. The fans are on my back after this run, and I'm not surprised. We actually took the lead, after Jordan Ponticelli tapped in his first goal of the season after good work down the left. It went downhill quickly after this though as we slumped to 3-1 down with Sean Newton smashing home a penalty as a consolation in the 90th minute.

Vanarama National League // Northamption Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Ff1014DEqR7aRANRsHRcMQYGfynlvOriCWjzcSLp.png

This is more like it. A cracking display of football and all 3 points for the first time in what seems like ages. Jordan Ponticelli slammed home for 10 yards, before Kyle McFarlane beat the defenders' offside trap and slotted home to make it 2-0. It was that man again who sealed the win and made it 3-0 to cap off a fantastic result.

Vanarama National League // Woking // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/mY9DNm19SoBNHyFjTNjL5v6OQmQNyBw3Dty7M9Qo.png

2 wins on the bounce, we've not said that for a while and it's so good to type. Woking provided a tough test but we broke them down eventually through Kieran Green who flicked a header past the on-rushing goalkeeper to score the only goal of the game. A good battling performance and win.

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round // Boston United // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/S4Ejppm1YGumUqUqhQMzYHbUvoHC0wT76qElrjNP.png

It's FA Cup time, and we definitely need a run of wins to gain some much needed financial help. We played against Vanarama National League North team Boston United and things didn't go exactly to plan. It was a bad start as Kyle McFarlane saw red after 2 minutes for a horrible 2 footed lunge. We just about held on after Boston piled on the pressure against 10 men and forced a replay.

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round Replay // Boston United // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EryE38yuExcfYwMVXT6LreW3cIE6xEnD49SxdQis.png

We just about gain the win and progress into the 1st Round Proper. We weren't at the races for 90 minutes and couldn't string 3 passes together but we forced a penalty shootout. The shootout lacked quality just like the game did, but we eventually fired home the winning penalty and won 4-3 on penalties. Just need to put this round behind us and focus on the next one.

Vanarama National League // AFC Fylde // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YT03IQnetA4OTOLLsbC4fwkPspDDzx5LBvN7wWyS.png

We visited the West Coast and Fylde who are a decent team. Jordan Williams headed them in front before Paul Lewis scored to equalise and send us in at the half all square. We kicked it up a notch in the second half and Kyle McFarlane powered home a thunderous strike to put us in the lead. An own-goal in the 95th minute secured the victory and gave us our 3rd win this month.

Vanarama National League // Wrexham // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2eiTxrUlvivufFgaEq3IRVPniPJp8KbPEjRcOcJo.png

A tough defeat to take, but we started off terribly and soon found ourselves 3-0 down before the break. I thought we were totally out of this game, but two quickfire goals from Kyle McFarlane put us back in contention. From this moment we were the only team likely to score but their keeper was on fine form and denied us an equaliser. Frustrating.

Vanarama National League // Ebbsfleet United // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xSIGICkeMVKst7nveLcWFVS7iOa8y6XUXFNkjiBY.png

Ebbsfleet United visited us to end the month and somehow scraped a draw. They will be ecstatic to gain a point. A frantic first 2 minutes saw both teams score. A Yoan Zouma own goal for them and a Paul Lewis thunderbolt to level things up. Mcauley Langstaff fired home a penalty to put us in the lead before a ridiculous striker from 35 yards saw them equalise. I'm not sure how they managed to gain a draw but we only have ourselves to blame for not seeing the game out.

Much better month results-wise, sees us climb the table up towards the playoffs. We're not out of it yet and with so much football still to play who knows what will happen. We need more months like this though.

Paul Lewis
(4 games, 2 goals, 0 assists, 7.43 rating)

Paul Lewis wins this award this month after putting in 4 fine performances since signing on a free. He's scored the winning penalty in the FA Cup and two decent goals in the league. He's a quality player and we're lucky to have him.

@Dan, cheers mate. Usually, that is the case and you start to see the difference when you hit the Football League. Here's hoping we can get there soon.

@A11_Smithy, Agreed, hoping to see us mount a title challenge next month though...

Vanarama National League // Dover // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/njheUnC6UIat4TnDhfIrjtNLrcUmDzhuefQlyV91.png

We carry on our good form, with a decent win against a struggling Dover team. Kyle McFarlane popped up and struck home from the 6-yard box, before Alex Kempster scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0. Dover pulled one back before David Ferguson collected 2 yellows and was sent to the changing rooms for an early shower. 3 points on the road.

Vanarama National League // Yeovil Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GyQ9wZ6XHJqVQ9vVuNfylxiVZuLaJOq1C8TXvUAp.png

Our first really bad performance and it had to be against @Dan's Yeovil Town. They really put us to the sword in this defeat and I think it's best to move on from this as quick as we can.

Vanarama National League // Chorley Town // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CTTQoXwYimi03dm5kbYl1PcBeOwu8uVItnYxnTgD.png

Chorley Town came to York and departed stealing 3 points from us. We were the better team but conceded too easily on the counter. Okera Simmonds used his pace and slotted the ball home in the 60th minute to inflict a second defeat in a row on us.

Vanarama National League // Dulwich Hamlet // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HrvsUqx90nT8ZDyqMxon0iABQOTI7lb4hOrMNna1.png

A frustrating result as we were in the lead, and just switched off at the end. Dulwich only tested us a few times, but that was all it took. Kyle McFarlane put us into the lead with a well timed run and finish. Dulwich hit back and then hit us with a sucker-punch in the 84th minute. It's tough at the moment.

Vanarama National League // Torquay United // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CYcf1xXh97hoRQV6iKmvxjDyXia6xioePpvXhYbk.png

4 defeats in 4 games, and it's not been a great month. Torquay wasn't anything special but they took their chance and stuck to their jobs. This has to be the worst month of the save so far.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7ZNPemgaSzCR5h4KZrG1JMxCCxWCtBX2WEgNLzMx.png

After that terrible, terrible month we've dropped dramatically all the way down to 12th position. I'm hoping it's just a blip and we can regain our early season form and climb again. Who knows what version of York we will get though.

Kyle McFarlane
(5 games, 2 goals, 0 assists, 6.9 rating)

As you can imagine, no-one really stood out this month, but Kyle McFarlane popped up with 2 goals and that's all the separated him from the rest of the poor performers.

BOOM, what a welcome into the Vanarama National League. Barnet weren't great hosts and sent us pack to York with 0 points and feeling pretty dejected. We actually played fairly well and possibly deserved a draw, but it's a tough league and we should expect more of the same.

Vanarama National League // Eastleigh // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BEYYzoKS6lRBF5WZKQLcHF3eSQPGFRNMuz1TlIdC.png

Here we go, this is more like it. 3 points in the bag, and a first National League goal for Kyle McFarlane. We deserved the win, and we got it. McFarlane fired home from 8 yards out in the 39th minute and we held on to take the 3 points. We're on the board.

Vanarama National League // Harrogate Town // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uGACqw3H3KxtJAeJHp0GjwiGxwawyU5UZph4Se5W.png

We visited the beautiful market town of Harrogate on a cold Saturday in August. Cameron Archer slotted home from the edge of the box to give us the lead before an own goal courtesy of Max Hunt's head gave us a 2-0 lead at half-time. We should've held onto the clean sheet but a 91st-minute consolation saw an end to that. 2 wins out of 3 and things are looking rosy.

Vanarama National League // Hartlepool Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Yaz7p9fobn7iWRlB2uydVPXF63Je3Hl5CBt21HDW.png

Our first game broadcast on television and what a performance we put on. We were making it look easy as Cameron Archer grabbed his second in as many games to put us ahead. Emmanuel Adebiyi also opened his account for the club with a well-hit strike from just outside the area. Harrogate looked to be back in it late on as they scored a goal in the 89th minute but David Ferguson hit a volley from a counter-attack to restore the 2 goal lead. Happy days.

Vanarama National League // Kidderminster Harriers // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vp6AbQt4F9JTiMZeC830wa7ZLgZlHqSlD6blVxcO.png

Our first meeting with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League and it ends in a draw. We share the points and we got lucky. Kidderminster took the lead with an absolute rocket, before Wes York capped off his first game of the season with a lovely deft head to draw us level. It stayed this way and the points were shared.

Vanarama National League // Maidenhead // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/wkwhO9CN9JCRJTV55f8cLtn0RlqobAhZvMNBa98Q.png

A long journey down to Maidenhead was our next fixture and we enjoyed all 3 points. Kyle McFarlane scored his 2nd of the season with a lovely little finish from the edge of the area. We probably got a bit lucky to hold on, but I'm impressed with our start so far.

Vanarama National League // Boreham Wood // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qVmD83GEgnHTsnPBMhrkh2u2Iv9Mg3TjYWg2XjUa.png

We hosted bottom side Boreham Wood and were left disappointed as we shared the points. A thoroughly frustrating game saw us lose the lead in the 89th minute. We were comfortable and sailing towards a win. Cameron Archer opened our scoring, before Wes York and Yoan Zouma added to the goals. Zouma's head was a beauty and cracked in off the underside of the crossbar.

Our first season back in the National League and things is looking rosy. We sit in 3rd place, only 3 points behind the leaders Maidstone. 4 wins, 2 draws and a loss is not a bad way to start the season but we now need to kick on and try and keep the points rolling over.

Cameron Archer
(6 games, 3 goals, 0 assists, 7.05 rating)

Cameron has settled in very quickly at the club and has just started to chip in with a few goals. His pace is causing the defence a lot of trouble and I'm excited to see him progress into a leading star for the club. He came in the 3rd in this months league player of the month.

Pre-season friendlies are a really good chance to see what our new transfers can do, and give everyone minutes under their belt to gain fitness for the upcoming season. This season is massive for us in realising where we are in this league and what our real aims are going to be. We did fairly well in these friendlies and gained a really good win against our parent club Doncaster Rovers. A poor result against Gala Fairydean Rovers (who don't even sound like a real team) wasn't exactly what I wanted but results aren't the be-all and end-all.

2 WINS, 2 DRAW and 1 LOSS.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/rgDTfjvXHbKMad9KV2WBpLczcg57GXT3ukfVAt8n.png

With a fair amount of players leaving the club due to the fact they are not good enough or have retired in the case of Michael Tonge and Steve McNulty I've been delving into the transfer market to bolster the squad ahead of this crucial season.

Terry Taylor // CB // Wolves // Free

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fWtJDuvoGvYFAuW6gFjoCL2swfqgmlRunPXtCfXw.png

Terry is going to be huge for us this season. He can play in two positions which is always good for a team. He can play CB or CM so I can switch him round depending on who we are playing. Terry has massive potential and I'm pleased we have been able to sign him since his release from Wolves.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fWtJDuvoGvYFAuW6gFjoCL2swfqgmlRunPXtCfXw.png

Cameron Archer // ST // Aston Villa // Free

We needed a new body upfront to partner the main man Kyle McFarlane, and Cameron has come in to do just that. He's young, he's raw and he's got some talent in him! I can't wait to see what he can do to try and take some of the pressure of Kyle.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Ycic2E5gUuEdDhe8tqehAhGgwDcQkcfohI4BqH17.png

Emmauel Adebiyi // CM // Watford // Free

Another player that has been released from a premier league squad. I'm amazing they have chosen to sign for us since they all had interest from higher teams! Emmanuel will be a bit-part player this season, but he will still have a huge part to play. He's got a great passing range and has all the fitness in the world.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BrUskIauXTfrf5EFZ6GhXegeIUwbDfZm4rYMJHIQ.png

Niko Hämäläinen // LB // QPR // Free

Niko is the best player we've signed, and he's going to be a star for us I'm sure. He's already got League One ability and he's playing for us in the National League. He's been tipped to win player of the season already and I can't wait to see what he's got bombing on down the left-wing.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fwMBL5naoiO5hTKpWPOJIs8t8klbtxWtJ58ayRrS.png

Viljami Sinisalo // GK // Aston Villa // Loan

Billy Crellin left to go back to Fleetwood, I did try to sign him back for us, but they didn't want to loan him out again, so I dipped into the loan market once more. Viljami comes in and will be my number one keeper for the season. Let's hope he's as good as Billy was.

@Dan, Cheers mate, now we're at a level playing field ha! Yeovil lost in the second round of the playoffs after finishing 2nd in the league! I'll be playing them next season.
(out of interest, are you doing a Round the World save again?)

@r96Skinner, Cheers fella, time to focus on next season and building the club upwards.

@VP., I agree, some are now touting me as the next Sir Alex Ferguson

@A11_Smithy, Kidderminster Harriers went up via the playoffs, so the two best teams deservedly both went up!

By now you will have seen that we have been promoted to the Vanarama National League after winning the Vanarama National League North. We were favourites to go up so I'm delighted to have met these expectations and will now need to start focusing on next season and how we're going to ascend to the top of the National League. Big decisions to be made...

Above, you can see the whole squad and their stats for the season. A fair few of these players definitely won't be with us next season as I've decided to let their contracts run out. The most notable include:

Steve McNulty (we fell out, and I have no time for him, so bye.)
Dan Maguire (just didn't get enough game time, and had a fairly high wage)
Adriano Moke (like Maguire, didn't play much, so saying goodbye now)
Sean Newton (probably the player who performed best for me that are leaving, he's getting old.)

2. Yoan Zouma, Billy Crellin // 46
3. Alex Kempster // 44

No prizes for guessing who gets the coveted: SortitoutSI Player of the Season Award (catchy name eh). Drumroll please....

Kyle McFarlane

Of course, it's the main man himself, Mr Kyle McFarlane. On his way to winning this award, he scored a massive 34 goals for the club this season. He also lead the assist charts showing he wasn't as greedy as you would think. He's just played out of his skin and has set a number of records in doing so.

Finances at the club don't look too pretty at the moment. We started off with a very healthy balance but I didn't exactly manage the wage budget too well. Never mind, but for now, we sit in a massive debt which I think is inevitable for a non-league club. Hopefully, we can start to attract some more fans and pull some extra income in. I'm not too proud of this section ha.

4 games to win the league title. We started off well by winning the first, with a late goal from super-sub Dan Maguire. I was beginning to think we wouldn't get all 3 points but we plugged away right to the end and we got what we deserved. A point would've been credible against a very strong Alfreton team but 3 is definitely what we wanted. A good start.

2 out of 2 so far this month and we played fairly well in this one too. Alex Kemspter marauded down the left-wing and fired a low shot home into the bottom corner to spark massive scenes from the stands. Could this be the game won us the title?

Altrincham are a very, very good side in this league and matched us in every department. We had a couple of efforts off the line which was frustrating. I think this counts as points dropped in the grand scheme of things but just like with Telford, it keeps the points rolling in.

What a way to start a new month off. A massive victory and one that drags us closer to that league title. All of our dangermen contribute with Kyle McFarlane opening the scoring on 14 minutes. Jordan Burrow netted the second with a well placed shot into the far corner. Alex Kempster added the third before Kyle McFarlane finished the job off when he scored the fourth with a powerful header. A nice, easy 4-1 victory.

Vanarama National League North // AFC Telford // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tLtEhPUyIFQmVMkHXPk7JQmEKkjUj6jODRS1SZUq.png

A point away from home at this stage is definitely something I'd take. Telford isn't an easy place to go, so to keep the points rolling in is important. Although we didn't score, we held firm at the back and I'm happy with how we played.

Vanarama National League North // Altrincham // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ttDHzHo0z9MK7B6xJCHzMPUFQJJn2Mkb4AbCHjiQ.png

Altrincham are a very, very good side in this league and matched us in every department. We had a couple of efforts off the line which was frustrating. I think this counts as points dropped in the grand scheme of things but just like with Telford, it keeps the points rolling in.

Vanarama National League North // Farsley Celtic // Home

We round off the month with a solid performance and an easy victory. 3-0! Only 4 games to go now, and looking good. Kyle McFarlane put us ahead on 2 minutes before Andy Bond slotted home a penalty in the last minute of regulation time. We added a 3rd in the 92nd minute through Alex Kempster.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Bb70693TMLdK45MY1U13FHixcHqw2D2PGErKyHv5.png

The gap is still 2 points at the top of the table with only 4 games to go. We've got an OK run in and I think we should win the rest of the games but nerves are definitely going to be a factor. Kidderminster are still hanging around and will be looking to pounce if we slip up. Concentration is key...

Chiori Johnson
(4 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 7.30 rating)

Chiori has been solid all season, and although he hasn't contributed to any goals this month, his support play and defensive work have been top-notch. He's been consistent all year.

@VP. draws are the bane of my life. A point is better than none though, so there's that at least.

@A11_Smithy, Burrow has been a star this month so maybe criticising him publicly has worked ha! Chester are always difficult to beat, so at least the game is lifelike. Cheers for keeping up to date man!

Vanarama National League North // Hereford United // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/4ctyvG2F5svTsR5b0IOzavHornOgbMYLkbKdiGsk.png

A tricky game to start with, and we've come away with a decent point, to be honest. It was end to end, but neither of us could convert a chance. A draw is definitely a fair result and fair play to Hereford for sticking to their gameplan and executing it perfectly.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/k63G5gZ278X75QUgyK8z63IAa9ccQ8hmgp2L0Ylh.png

Back on form with a tight win against a decent team. An absolute peach of a strike from Andy Bond put us ahead in the 44th minute which is arguably the perfect time to score. We went in ahead and went further ahead when Jordan Burrow header home from close range to make it 2-0. 2 minutes later through an own goal from Yoan Zouma gave them a lifeline. It was close fought until the end but we just about held on and gained a vital 3 points.

Vanarama National League North // Kettering Town // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1wn02S54UHOUwZqTNj3Nu1rcOGl62za1kx9VH2gX.png

Another win gives us another 3 points. We were comfortable for most of the game. Jordan Burrow netted a brace in the 35th and 73rd minute. A Paddy McLaughlin penalty in the 70th minute was the other goal in a 3-1 win. We move onwards.

Vanarama National League North // Bradford Park Avenue // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xLOenpqGh2afv2pkcZv7lBaitDDzOeSWHnvpka7V.png

Another game in which we comfortably gained 3 points. The scoreline suggests that they were involved in the game, but in honesty, we were all over them. Jordan Burrow put us ahead, followed by 2 Alex Kempster goals, both absolute corkers. Kyle McFarlane netted the other as we march on towards the league title.

Vanarama National League North // Spennymoor Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/cCyXeDYJjfMH9pgSQCY2bkFRTzSOTNOWIHSrVcbQ.png

Glen Taylor is becoming a thorn in my side. He scored again as Spennymoor came to town and waltzed away with a victory. We actually went ahead as Jordan Burrow fired home for the edge of the area. We couldn't keep our advantage as we conceded once before the break, and once after which ensured that Spennymoor stole the 3 points away from us.

Vanarama National League North // Gateshead // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kWI68FU8bxgdgBUHOIGgZe8tf2jibBsMv8vvm2u5.png

We rounded off a good month with a narrow victory against a struggling Gateshead. Macauley Langstaff put us ahead with a superb volley from a tight angle. Kyle McFarlane also netted to put us further ahead before a last-minute consolation goal for Gateshead was struck. A good win to end a good month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/J4ika0pzfveEKtIxKCclaIs13PrdSACmBip2LfGu.png

We've got a gap at the top, but it's a slim one and one that I'd like to be bigger at this stage of the competition. It's definitely a two-horse race between us and Kidderminster Harriers. We've been the two outstanding teams this year and it'll come down to a final couple of games. We sit on 71 points and KH are on 69 points. We have the superior goal difference though with a massive +40 compared to KH's +22. Could it come down to this?

Jordan Burrows
(6 games, 5 goals, 0 assists, 7.01 rating)

Jordan has been under fire this season and has struggled but he's come big when we needed him. He's score 5 goals in 6 games and has won us games when we looked tired. He's improving and hopefully, he can continue to score all the way to the end of the season.

3 points in the bag, against a difficult team to beat. Southport have been surprising teams all season but sit near the bottom of the league. We turned them over on their own patch and came away with the 3 points. Alex Kempster started off a fine month of scoring in the 45th minute to give us the lead at the break. Macauley Langstaff finished them off late in the second half with an acrobatic volley to make it 2-0.

Vanarama National League North // Darlington // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/M9j4iLHUt6ogQBBdxrjacPPPSqyDoJZ8Kl8yRxxG.png

Easy as you like from the boys! 4 goals and 4 different scorers! Alex Kempster opened proceedings in the 1st minute, and it got better in the 9th minute as Andy Bond passed a shot into the back of the net. Jordan Burrow ended his goal drought in the second half to my relief and Kyle McFarlane rounded the keeper to round off the performance and make it 4-0.

Vanarama National League North // Chester // Home

Chester are becoming my bogey team. I can't seem to find a way to beat them. We scraped a draw in this game. The most pleasing aspect was that we kept a clean sheet once again. Crellin is becoming such a good keeper, and I'll definitely be looking at either extending his loan or signing him on a permanent deal in the Summer.

Another game, and another Alex Kempster goal. He had a bit of a quiet time midseason when he wasn't scoring, but he's back and he's back with a bang! His goal in the 15th minute proved to be the match-winner! A great month, and an unbeaten month.

It couldn't be closer at the top! We've slipped to 2nd in the league, but only because we've played one less game. If we win, we go back top courtesy of our massive goal difference! It's going to go to the wire.

Billy Crellin has been outstanding between the sticks this month and hasn't had to pick the ball out of the back of the net once. He's been assured, and has made some top, top saves! What a month!

I always try and make sure that we win our opening game of the month, but we couldn't manage that this time around. Guiseley provided a stern test and we came through it to gain a credible point. Wes York fired us ahead but we conceded just before the stroke of half-time to go in at 1-1. It stayed this way until the final whistle with few chances in the second half.

FA Trophy 1st Round // Chester // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/R3qwcXkmKmnHehluAdqO8QtsCRWcGjTfsbMg1NOx.png

A 92nd-minute winner for Chester sent us crashing out of the FA Trophy! It's a devastating way to get sent out of a competition but I would have been delighted if we had scored a last-minute winner. We had been in the lead after Andy Bond had scored just after the restart. We had handled the pressure Chester was piling on us really well until they equalised in the 82nd minute before they made us pay and scored the last-minute winner from a free-kick. Gutted, but we can now concentrate on the league.

Vanarama National League North // Kidderminster Harriers // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mz09zkMjIjHzdZoPmf8UVBPKsvPoXO2L37Z4DIw9.png

A MASSIVE WIN! What a performance from the lads to dig deep and come back from a goal down against the league leaders! It was end to end stuff, and we responded excellently to going 1-0 down as Sean Newton fired home 6 minutes later! We pressed on and managed to force a winner through Macauley Langstaff! Scenes in the stands and scenes on the pitch! What a win that could turn out to be!

Vanarama National League North // Brackley Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9TDyqfGn0o7nmy82sK0t3BeRa6mWXHypJ3WiQttq.png

We kicked on from the impressive and important win against Kidderminster and eased to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Brackley Town. David Ferguson marauded down the left-hand side and smashed an effort into the top bin. Wes York slotted home one on one to make it 2-0 before Kyle McFarlane added a 3rd to seal the game. We did, however, concede late on but the game was already over by then.

Vanarama National League North // Blyth Spartans // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hHtp7vFkuG33lErIlN8uY2TLZVQOZzJYMp9tCfzW.png

We made it 3 wins in 3 as we struggled to a win against a determined Blyth Spartans. We went down in the 56th minute but grabbed a goal back through Kyle McFarlane before going gung-ho and piling the pressure on. It paid off thankfully, as Martin Onoabhagbe smashed home a loose ball from a corner to grab us 3 points.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PY6u7mT7uMmGu0JXNezrpXyu0TNZSleUhF3AzoEt.png

A much better month sends us back to the top of the table, with Kidderminster sitting 2 points behind, but with a game in hand. I can already tell it's going to go down to the wire, but we are top and that's the important thing at the moment. Goal difference is still increasing and now sits at +28!

A very good way to start the month off. 3 points and a 3-0 victory against a very good team. Kyle McFarlane scored a brace either side of half-time before Paddy McLaughlin added a 3rd in injury time with a delightful curled effort into the top corner. Excellent performance and a great way to start the month off.

Alfreton are a team that's doing very well in the league and provided a tough test for us. We just about edged it out there, but we couldn't find the finish to give us the deserved 3 points. Still, a point against a playoff contender is always good.

Vanarama National League North // Leamington // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/R9y2Dc0saJUrf1t8UqSMAR5PeuWEK6Ix9OyTzIka.png

What a game this was. It had literally everything! First of all, we shouldn't have even been in this game in the first half, as we were blown away with possession and attempts on goal, but somehow we only went in 1-0 down. We pulled it level through an Andy Bond header, before going 2-1 down. Paddy McLaughlin equalised for us before we took the lead in the 84th minute through the main man Kyle McFarlane. I thought the 3 points were ours, but Chiori Johnson earned himself a red card which left us with an uphill task to keep all 3 points. In the last minute of injury time Leamington struck an equaliser to earn a share of the points.

FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round // Berkhamstead // Away

An easy win, in a competition that I want us to go and win. We have a real shot at winning it too I think with the firepower we have. Anyway, Kyle McFarlane grabbed a brace as well as Alex Kempster with Andy Bond netting as well. We weren't troubled and we move onto the 1st Round Proper.

What a win to end the month! You can't ask for more than a 3-0 victory. A clean sheet is as important as the 3 points. Alex Kempster, Andy Bond and a first goal of the season for Yoan Zouma earnt us the points on a day where we didn't need to get out of 2nd gear.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qRTbfjNrLpNDij4SR4zAupusDOCn38iDCbILBCTg.png

A decent month results-wise sees us stay in contention at the top of the league. Kidderminster Harriers still lead the way, but we have pulled it back to be within 6 points. Our goal difference is still superior at +24. Alfreton Town are still their level on points with us providing pressure.

I decide to bring in a new face to freshen things up in the squad as we hit a bit of bad form. I also fell out with my 36-year-old centre-half Steve McNulty so he is not sitting in the reserves with no playing time. He's arrogant and thinks he knows best. In comes:

Martin Onoabhagbe // CB // Chelmsford City // Free Transfer

Martin comes in like I said to freshen things up. He's quick, strong and has huge potential to go on and make it in the high echelons of league football. I can't wait to blood him in and see how he performs alongside Yoan Zouma.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CWDyD2SLhOsu9bBh7JHdHVAqQwkZIlF8ZI6DdcUK.png

We were drawn against another lower-ranked team so I expected another comfortable win. That is exactly what I got. Kyle McFarlane once again showed why he's the best striker in the league as he notched up 4 goals all during the first half. We took our foot off the gas in the second half and Macauley Longstaff added the 5th to our total. An easy win, and we progress into the 4th Qualifying Round.

Our poor form in the league continues as we are really struggling for form now. An 80th-minute winner for Spennymoor ensured they sent us home with 0 points. It was a close game that could have gone either way, but today, it didn't go with us.

Vanarama National League North // Gateshead // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Hdn8MHquF9bpP2t6w3ksZw5l1StGhSXmc3dakihg.png

We were back home for the first time this month, and we scraped a draw with a Gateshead side that was climbing the league. We went behind in the 15th minute before Andy Bond scored a howitzer to secure us a point in a 1-1 draw.

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round // Harrogate Town // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/DOahYYOOPv3dgYbRnDESfaLssxIeLCRhw9EByL8l.png

Unfortunately, we exited the FA Cup at this stage, which is slightly disappointing. Wes York scored a good team goal to put us in front. A lead that we fully deserved, before 2 goals before the stroke of half-time put us behind at the break. We couldn't manage to grab an equaliser despite a lot of pressure and that was that.

Vanarama National League North // AFC Telford // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/f8DSBrwLoRNOC1k3WtCV0LvTVDahZjsUPD2jZlzP.png

Our first 3 points of the month, and pretty decent performance to go along with it. Kyle McFarlane opened the scoring with a deft header after a pinpoint cross. We went 2-0 up after Kieran Green slotted home from close range. A minute later, however, Telford managed to pull one back to make sure it was a tense finish. A massive 3 points to ensure that we stopped the poor form.

Vanarama National League North // Farsley Celtic // Away

Two wins in a row! Massive considering our poor month. This one was as easy as it could come. We went 2-0 up with goals from Kyle McFarlane and Kieran Green, but once again a minute later we were pegged back by an absolute stunner of a volley. Kyle McFarlane put the game to bed with a well-timed header to ensure the 3 points were coming home with us.

Vanarama National League North // Curzon Ashton // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LwGYTU9Kob8Q4KA0didJkMDadDFgDFzZ0c5ahQSX.png

We ended the month on a bad performance and 0 points. This was the worst game of the season and we were never in the game. Curzon took the lead in the 55th minute and were so comfortable for the rest of the game. A disappointing way to end the month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gj5FISaJn7iWfJuFjH0L2HR0sg6XSQDGIIOWqJcJ.png

A poor month sees us lose pace in the title race. We were top, but now we lie in 2nd place with teams below us having the chance to leapfrog us if they win their games in hand. Kidderminster Harriers occupy top spot and could go 7 points clear. A massive gap at this stage of the season.

Another game, another win. This time it was much closer as we ground out the 1-0 victory. 3 points is 3 points and I'll never turn them down. Wes York was the hero today, as he started off a run of games that he will make his mark in. This was his 50th career goal as well.

Vanarama National League North // Chester // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SQIPPiwdYirpN7hQfRWTee4cTWzL77DadePkXFGc.png

We made the trip to the historic Roman city of Chester and came away with a hard-fought well-earned point. We got a little bit lucky but I'd say a point was deserved for both teams. Crellin in our goal was the hero as he saved a penalty that would have put Chester 2-0 in front and with no way of coming back. It was through a penalty ourselves that we drew level as Elliott Durrell slotted home his first of the season.

FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round // Bamber Bridge // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/rw9Tx4ao8Qu9beiZbEEaWMpo9vbPxNZUj7Q4UvHE.png

Our first taste of the FA Cup and we like what they offered us. A comfortable win against lower-ranked Bamber Bridge. Kyle McFarlane put us ahead before Wes York grabbed a brace to send us through to the 3rd Qualifying Round where we will face Scarborough Athletic.

Vanarama National League North // Boston United // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/cWCvjscLy2UDfz4ytc3oQzTwCp3rC098likJxw48.png

We are starting to drop points, but at least we aren't dropping them all. A point gained is definitely better than a point lost. We travelled to Boston United and went ahead after Wes York powered home a superb volley from the edge of the area before Boston pegged us back in the 77th minute. We should've won the game and it's probably out most disappointing game so far.

Vanarama National League North // Bradford Park Avenue // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/JzjQugTqmpx6DNkp4Hpyfl6fLKDHUldfaUyWszab.png

We visited the bottom side Bradford Park Avenue in what should've been an easy victory. What we actually got was a quality game of football and a point. We twice went ahead through Michael Tonge and Wes York. Tonge's goal could possibly be goal of the season as he dipped a looping shot right into the top corner from 35 yards out. We could do with learning how to hold onto a tight lead if we want to win this league.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WKvt1Qc4ytrL6oXgMfzPB1OeqCrUkf0Vd2V2opd0.png

We're still a top of the tree and have managed to pull out in front a little as we have gained a point lead on Farsley who follow us closely. Our goal difference is insane as we are now +17 which is way ahead of everyone else. Can we hold onto the top spot for another month?

2 WINS, 3 DRAWS and 0 LOSSES. [1 FA CUP WIN]

Player of the Month

Wes York
(6 Games, 5 Goals, 1 Assist, 7.46 Rating)

Wes has been fighting for a starting spot all year and he got his chance. He's taken it with aplomb and is now our starting Right Winger. His goal-scoring potential is perfect for a winger and he's showing it.

@A11_Smithy, thanks for taking the time to read and comment mate. We're still unbeaten but have looked a bit dodgy at times so it will be a task to beat Steve Watson. I'll give it a good go though.

@r96Skinner, Cheers matey, hopefully, it can be a successful one.

@Dan, I've never had any problems with the BETA, so hopefully, no bugs for me. Hoping to keep this story going for a while and see where we end up. I'll be keeping an eye on your career as well as @Shedender as, as you said, we are on similar paths.

Vanarama National League North // Blyth Spartans // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WjynhUKoIY7z6bgdz1KnK2d2807VUUGNtE8cJlhs.png

We opened up the league campaign against a Blyth Spartans team who are the bookies' tips to go down. We showed them why we are the favourites to go up as we demolished them 5-0. We dominated from start to finish. Alex Kempster notched two goals, whilst Kyle McFarlane also grabbed 2 on his debut for the club. Andy Bond the roaming midfielder grabbed the other.

Vanarama National League North // Kidderminster Harriers // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/i5sCyaNFP0amQKMYyVc1dN3Y5yfjTVSfgVZtUjho.png

Our first away game of the season came up against Kidderminster Harriers. We carried on our form in the opening game as we scored another hatful of goals in a 3-0 victory. Another clean sheet for the new boy Crellin is also good news. Kyle McFarlane netted twice more to take his tally to 4 in 2. Alex Kempster carried on his fine form from the left wing as he grabbed another too.

Vanarama National League North // Kettering Town // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zjwzwn60n2ocihr8ZnpriP07bSgWFmXdtFSCEbMJ.png

We made it 3 wins out of 3 as we sent Kettering Town home after a 2-0 victory. I gave new boy Michael Tonge his debut after he needed to gain match fitness. He repaid my faith and scored an absolute screamer midway through the second half. Kyle McFarlane continued his fine form as he scored the other goal and we climbed to the top of the tree.

Vanarama National League North // Southport // Home
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/nmW6h4kEU3ZyfFOgshuNfN8fL1uzC5D0ZP0WwzMN.png

Our first goal conceded and our first dropped points. We didn't play poorly, but we didn't play well. Southport went ahead early in the game after they caught us on the break and it wasn't until the 82nd minute until Kyle McFarlane popped up and scored an equaliser from a long ball. His pace is frightening and I'm looking forward to seeing how many he can score this season. 1-1.

Vanarama National League North // Brackley Town // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/eR3up0orxQAzAdiTR3hb9qzGInzJ3tbI8rLqhtpg.png

We put our past performance behind us and ground out the 3 points in the next game against Brackley Town. Journeyman centre half, Steve McNulty grabbed the winner from a corner in the 64th minute and we held on reasonably comfortably from there on in. I'll never turn down 3 points on the road. 1-0 the final score.

Vanarama National League North // Darlington // Away
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/THQL1lvfgjNznr3SFkdP27sAAt1wAtW0FyknvXXf.png

We rounded off the month with a 2-2 draw in a game we had no right in claiming any points from. Darlington was the better team and went 2-0 up within half an hour. We fought back well and Kyle McFarlane netted twice more to bring his tally to 8 in 6. His 88th-minute equaliser was an absolute scorcher.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/P1boBRA98C6fTPkZdnEGEICP6TegzCGHCVfSkz01.png

We sit top of the tree after my first month in control. Altrincham are right there with us on 14 points too and it's going to be interesting to see where we end up. It's going to be a tough long season but we've started off brightly and I think we can continue this form a little longer. Our goalscoring potential is scary and we already have a goal difference of +11.

4 WINS, 2 DRAWS and 0 LOSSES.

Player of the Month

Kyle McFarlane
(6 Games, 8 Goals, 1 Assist, 8.02 Rating)

Kyle has started off the season in blistering form and I hope this continues. His pace is scaring defenders and his finishing has been second to none. He's on pace for a staggering amount of goals this season and will be key to our success.

PRE-SEASON 2019/2020

Friendlies

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/V0GooPrk0dO67NGlpgSHn1yqfPbiINaBk9syrD29.png

We kick off with our first update, which is summing up all the activity that has happened in pre-season before the 2019/2020 season kicks off. We have played a ridiculous amount of friendlies, a grand total of 10 in fact. I usually don't take pre-season friendlies into account that much, but we have actually played some ridiculously good football and it makes me excited for what lies ahead. Our record during pre-season was:

8 WINS, 1 DRAW and 1 LOSS.

We managed to beat higher-ranked: FC Halifax Town, Tranmere Rovers and Cambridge United. Beating teams in a higher league will always be a good thing and shows that we can win difficult games, even if they are only pre-season friendlies. Our only loss of the friendlies was against AFC Wimbledon but I wasn't expecting a win to be honest.

Transfers

I've been delving into the transfer market, but more specifically the loan market and have pulled in a few gems that will only add to the squad and improve what we already had.

Billy Crellin // GK // Fleetwood Town // Loan

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/V0GooPrk0dO67NGlpgSHn1yqfPbiINaBk9syrD29.png

Billy is one hell of a goalkeeper to have at our club. He's by far the best keeper in the league and is definitely too good for us. He's here to gain match experience which he wouldn't get at Fleetwood Town and I'm more than happy to help him develop and then return to Fleetwood in the near future.

Michael Tonge // CM // Free Transfer

Michael needs no introduction. He's played at every level of English football including the Premier League when he played for Sheffield United & Stoke City. He may be 36 now but he brings some much-needed experience and know-how to the team. He may not play every game but he will definitely be used in rotation and will be key when games come thick and fast.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/XeBdryT24bW6yVm5Yk2yUiBg7MwAH5p11o1cVq7f.png

Yoan Zouma // CB // Bolton // Loan

Yoan is a brilliant loan signing. He's come in from Bolton to gain experience in the first team. He's a beast at the back and will use his pace and his strength to bully the opposition strikers. He will be starting from day one and hopefully, he can form a good relationship at the back with Steve McNulty.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/O8UcA2FoCJZCaUVLQMYYScstDfSfLBV8MDJ2mHEy.png

Chiori Johnson // RB // Free Transfer

Chiori is a youngster who hopefully will provide a bit of competition at the right-back position. He's quick and he's talented. I hope he can improve and improve at the club and become a club icon in the future.

We've been made favourites to win the league this year and go up as Champions. I, myself wouldn't accept anything less than this as the quality in this team is definitely too good for the league we are in. That being said, we can only beat whats in front of us, and we will have to take it one game at a time.

York City: Club Overview

This is a post where I'll quickly just go through the club history, the facilities, and finances. I may do this at the start of every season to see if we are making any progress on and off the field, but for now, I'll just dive right in and get going with it.

Facilities

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/4DYmdesPGR54FlIIsSxqKU8yD47zkas3S3tFR7BV.png

We play our home games at Bootham Crescent which has been changed from the ever favoured Kit Kat Crescent. Bootham Crescent houses a massive 9,196 people with 3,409 seats inside. During normal home games, the capacity is downgraded to 7,192 for some reason. The stadium is in a very poor condition, and this is something that will need looking at as we try and climb the leagues. The pitch condition is ok, but for the style of football I want to play, this will have to be improved too. We have a mixed bag of facilities, with a 'Fairly Basic Corporate', 'Good Training Facilities' and 'Below Average Youth Facilities'. All will be changed along the way as we start the journey.

Finances

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Pb1rsZhN8AAefPj45d4ZwjmzJpoWqAWPjL2oPwYr.png

Finances at the club are fairly healthy with just under £200k in the bank. We have a massive £5k transfer budget, and a cool £18k wage budget. We will see what I can do with that in terms of bringing new players into the club, but I'm fairly optimistic I can get a few good deals through the door.

Squad

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6cWpwtPyYVAEoZBprj1U5MWTYRr15iOpjB77BxkX.png

This is the squad that will be at my disposal for the opening campaign. We have a lot of good quality players already on board but could do with a couple of players to add to the squad depth. Our best player is Dan Maguire and the striker will be key to any long term success at the club. Nathan Dyer is the best youth prospect, as at the age of 18 he is already a first-team regular who can grow with the club.

York City, once a familiar figure in the English Football League System, now slumb it in the Vanarama National League North. After achieving back to back relegations that saw them slip down two divisions, it's time for the club to rise from the ashes and start climbing the football league pyramid once again. I'll go through all club history and facilities in my next post.

This post will serve as a management achievements post and I will post all my success below as we try and get them to the top of world football.

Management History

2019/2020 // Vanarama National League North - 1st (Champions) // FA Cup - Fourth Qualifying Round // FA Trophy - 1st Round
2020/2021 // Vanarama National League - 2nd (Lost in Playoff Semi-Final) // FA Cup - 1st Round // FA Trophy - 4th Round
2021/2022 // Vanarama National League - 1st (Champions) // FA Cup - 1st Round // FA Trophy - 2nd Round

We had a pretty productive end to the season and I'm happy with how our league form turned out. The Vanarama South is not an easy league to compete in as there are so many 'good' teams in the division. We had our ups and downs, but more ups thankfully. Luckily, we managed to sneak into the playoffs by finishing in 7th position, by only 1 measly point. That's all that was needed though.

8 WINS, 7 DRAWS, and 6 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/eqG9Wrvd3JVFhoqsfkzxzmF75dRPezvp0OFGxSsj.png

The playoff schedule was not kind to us, as every team finished above us, but we went against all the odds and somehow (I still don't know how) managed to win the playoffs and get promoted into the Vanarama National League. A tight 1st round matchup against Bognor Regis saw us scrape through 1-0. It was Havent & Waterlooville in the Semi-Final and it took a 92nd-minute winner and hattrick from Greenhalgh to see us safely into the Final. The final was a decent game for us and saw us win 4-2 against Brackley Town. WE ARE UP!!

The FA Trophy proved to be a decent runout for the lads too. We were very successful in this competition and were unlucky not to make it to the final. A tough Semi-Final draw killed our chances and we went out to Eastliegh after beating Canvey Island, Exeter City, Northampton Town, & Crawley Town on the way to our semi-final defeat.

I'm frustrated at our performances this season. We've had far too many draws when we should be improving and winning those games. We either can't hold on to the lead when we take it, or grab a late equaliser (which is never a bad thing). I can't be too down though as we are still doing fairly well, it's just that I know we can do a lot better. Anyway, we've had good wins against Wycombe & Havant & Waterlooville who occupy the top two spots in the league so far. On the flip side, we lost to Wellin who are bottom at the halfway stage.

9 WINS, 6 DRAWS, and 5 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/IOso6mZtnyjLcye2l3gWXMgP0dSfPDV4NaIb2JBn.png

We're 6th after 21 games, and we sit on 34 points. We are in the playoffs spots but I think we should be aiming either for the league title or the automatic promotion spot. We sit a bit of a way back from the top spot but we are only 7 points back from the automatic spot. It's doable but we need a good run of form to compete for those spots at the top.

FA Cup

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/07hhmeu03ppWzguMS035yDbgab1N7koW1UERCEwM.png

We got dealt a cruel draw in the 1st Round of the FA Cup as we drew L2 side Bury away from home. We couldn't really have had a tougher draw but we performed well in our 2-1 defeat. Before this, we beat Corinthian-Casuals, Potters Bar, & St. Albans, all pretty convincingly and bringing some much-needed cash into the clubs coffers. We've consistently made it to the 1st round proper and that's a good achievement for the club.

FA Trophy

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/wqFgL4Nvlw27cgzaUN4c5WAdwopzExxPTWzh9mQY.png

We're still in the FA Trophy and have beaten Folkestone in the 3rd Qualifying Round. It did take us two attempts to beat them but we got there eventually. In the next round we've been drawn away at Canvey Island which is a fairly tough draw but one I know we can come out on top in.

We managed to cut down the number of draws and turn them into wins which is always a pleasing stat to have. Once again our form has been really, really strong in the backend of the season with a 7 match unbeaten run as the season came to its conclusion. We also picked up massive wins against Canvey Island & Dartford. I don't really know what else to say as our record speaks for itself.

13 WINS, 3 DRAWS, and 5 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Qd3xrgPubn0xNDkPbPei36Chtjyz01J5dBJjNctO.png

Our form improved and our position in the league did too. We ended up finishing in 3rd which is an improvement on last seasons final position as well. Eastliegh won the league on the final day and stole the title away from Canvey Island who dominated the league campaign all season. The rest of the teams that join us in the play-offs are Dartford, Brackley, Bromley & St Albans/

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xndTdmXTQipWJOCabDesmxfdxVxMTem5ab14vBtg.png

In the semi-final of the play-offs we were drawn against Brackley Town who finished two positions lower than us in 5th. We sent them crashing out of the play-offs after a 3-0 victory. Could this year be the year that Enfield Town get promoted to the Vanarama National League?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Uh1nYsrutDQaWsY3WZzMZ2mlndlUAsdOtMZTOYHx.png

I'm absolutely gutted! We have been defeated in the final after an 89th-minute winner from Dartford. That's absolutely heartbreaking and it's never an easy way to get beaten in a final. We can definitely be proud of our achievements this season as we improved our league position and our playoff performance. Next year will be the one I'm sure.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/NJPLNigGwgBpP6pVFelrNY1HZxymnyNVeXjVERfB.png

Max Bryon // AML // Loan // Dagenham & Redbridge
I was scouting through the loan list and Max stood out to me as a decent youngster from a league team. I needed more strength in depth at the AML position and he's become somewhat of a regular in my starting line up. He looks decent and I can't wait for him to improve. I may even try and make a move for him in the Summer.

We've started really, really well in the league and things are looking really good. We've done our usual thing where we play in patches of good form, then we have a few games of bad form. I'm not sure how to solve this, but we definitely have more good patches than bad ones. We've picked up big wins against St Albans & Bognor Regis who are both performing well in the league! We even managed a good draw against Canvey Island who are leading the pack at the half-way stage. At the moment we are on an 11 game unbeaten run, which I owe to our defence who have bailed us out on a number of occasions. I don't expect us to continue this form for much longer as we're bound to have a dip somewhere along the way but let's hope it does for as long as possible.

[i]We're currently in 4th position in the Vanarama National League South and are comfortably in the playoffs. We're 10 points ahead of the team who lie just outside the playoffs so we're good for now. Canvey Island lead the rest of us and have a 7 points lead from us. Things are looking good for now...

FA Trophy

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/8ayoc3YGc3RcGq7FrmhTSRtKC64avCMouzMeVzz7.png

Things did not go well for us in the FA Trophy this season as we were knocked out in the 3rd Qualifying Round by Hampton & Richmond in a game we totally dominated but couldn't take our chances. Always next year eh?

FA Cup

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/y1fMVRM2djha9M83SkX9pLlKOEYGNfzpKpb8K2Bn.png

In contrast to the FA Trophy where we were knocked out in our first match, we absolutely smashed the FA Cup, and managed to reach the 2nd Round Proper where we were eventually beaten by a strong League 2 Bristol Rovers. It took them 2 legs and extra time to beat us minnows so I'm proud of how we did. It also brought in a lot of money for us which has helped decrease our debts significantly. On the way to our 2nd round defeat, we beat Street, Taunton, Stevenage, & Cambridge United. This was a good run for us minnows.

We carried on our form nicely into the second half of the season and started our ascent up the table as a result of that. We had big wins against Eastliegh, Bath & Wycombe, all who performed well in the league campaign. We had disappointing losses against Whitehawk but the other losses all came against in-form teams in Chippenham, Havent & Waterlooville & Crawley Town. At the back end of the season, we went on an 8 match unbeaten run which is ridiculous and I'm so impressed with the team and how they managed to play.

12 WINS, 4 DRAWS, and 5 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RcZQWBCLSdlXVxJmkxEA6mLbQVs9yv6fd1WiDN32.png

This run of games at the back-end of the season meant that we just snuck into the playoffs by 3 points. In fact, all 3 teams that ended up on 71 points were in the playoffs. It was close. 71 points was enough and I'm ecstatic with the fact that we've improved massively this season. We drew Wealdstone in the 1st round of the Play-Offs and unfortunately that was where it ended for us. The match ended 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes and extra time meaning it was a penalty shootout to decide the winner. It's always a lottery in these situations and unfortunately, we didn't win this time.

The FA Trophy was another competition that I was wanting to do really well to bring in some money to boost the coffers. We managed a really impressive win at higher-ranked team Scunthorpe United who ply their trade in the Vanarama National League. This victory set up a tie against St Albans. This was the end of our FA Trophy journey as we lost 2-1 after leading the game at half-time.

@SirWerGaming, definitely a tougher task than any of my previous jobs, but one I needed to inject some life back into this save! I'm hoping to be here for a few seasons as I try and tick off some more trophies in England.

Transfers // IN

Lewis Brown // ST // Free Transfer
Lewis Brown is one hell of a striker for our level. He's only young at 20 and has decent pace and finishing for a player at this level. He has excellent potential and hopefully, he can be my main man up top for years to come.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pi30jnN12l5Yz2RBvmfWSWQW5XPB8ltkbqYv2gEt.png

Lucas Garcia // LW // Free Transfer
Lucas comes in after being released by Fulham. He too also has the potential to be a big-time player for us. He's good on the ball and loves to dribble past players. I'm hoping for lots of asissts this year.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/P4bDhSPvKXzOYtwpDHrkC6Tx7VAWWvACVu3U7Ej7.png

Dominic Price // CB // Free Transfer
Dominic comes in from AFC Wimbledon and comes in to sure up our defence. He's good at marking and has a good jump on him meaning he can win lots of headers.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZiIdCVlzefJKyGrXwpjzpUjiHB2ymAurQYBfr3wu.png

Nick Collins // RB // Loan // Swindon Town
Nick comes in late in the pre-season as a replacement for my RB. He comes in on loan for the whole season and brings in league quality straight away. He should be a decent acquisition.

As you can see, we've done pretty darn well compared to last time out. We've played 21 games and I'm really happy with how things are going. We're scoring lots of goals, and we're not conceding TOO many for us. We seem to go on a little run of wins, then we lose a couple then we win a couple again and that's how it goes for us. We've had a big win against Havent & Waterlooville who came down last season from the Vanarama National League. We could do with turning some of those losses into either draws or wins, but things are going well.

9 WINS, 4 DRAWS, and 8 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/L5Mx44twfDVt46sGWapTrpERl0x9ZlXW3WuquVWi.png

We are in with a shot of the playoffs, with 21 games to go, we definitely could finish in those playoff positions and have a chance of going up. We need to keep our form going though and that's the difficult bit. We lie in 9th position on 31 points, with only 5 points between us and the playoffs.

FA Cup

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qnPfz7i7hYUGoVvQDtEUJVlj25UQgVBLs7spxqxn.png

We did really, really well in the FA Cup this year, managing to get to the 1st Round where we eventually lost to Morecambe in a replay. The wins weren't important but the prize money was. We are in serious debt that I couldn't even hire an Assistant Manager for the first half of the season. On the way to the 1st round, we beat Sittingbourne. Hampton & Richmond & Chelmsford.

FA Trophy

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hcb7LFO6Bn2vUWUjo99kxCAzX8g7yXzBFYHfXJCY.png

We've managed to progress nicely into the FA Trophy 2nd Round after wins against Mangotsfield & Poole Town. Once again the prize money is massive and we could do with progressing further and further to help boost the coffers. I don't think we have enough quality to win the thing but who knows what the draws may bring.

So I had 17 games in charge of the season left, in order to try and save us from relegation and keep us in the league. Form has been a bit patchy, but we've had some really good results, and also some really shocking ones. A big win against Bath City who are riding high in the league, and also another good win against high fliers Chippenham. We've actually played rather well against the top teams but in the relegation 6 pointers, we've not fared quite as well. Anyway, our record stands as:

8 WINS, 0 DRAWS, and 9 LOSSES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dxzq2TiRI1jUlwN6NNYfcFtrjUWEuBjxWrXRW2Nj.png
]

We've actually managed to climb one place in the league which is a positive step. We could've ended a bit higher and I'd have liked to do just that, but one place is better than none. We've ended up in 16th position and it's time now to build on this and really push for a higher mid-table finish next time around.

Club Overview

Enfield Town are a professional team playing in the Vanarama National League South in England. They were founded in 2001 and haven't won much of note. The only thing in their trophy cabinet or more likely a trophy shelf is the Essex Senior League on two occasions. Big time eh.

[i]The average ticket price for a game is £10 and they average 250 season ticket holders. They have a few local rivals in Barnet, Boreham Wood & Billericay.

The team play their home games at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium/b] which is a 3,000 capacity stadium with 750 seats.

The Squad

The Squad needs some serious quality added to it in the off-season, but for now, we have an OK squad to work with. It's all about finishing as high as possible.

[b]Tyler Barden
is by far the best player at the club. The 28-year-old striker needs to knock in a few more goals, however.

As you can see from the fixture list, things haven't been going great for the mighty 'Towners' and there is an awful lot of red marks on it. They need to change to green marks quickly. We've been knocked out of both the cup competitions we were in, and are just battling to stay in the league for now.

We ended exactly how we started, in pretty damn good form. I knew this wouldn't be that tough a job as FC Seoul are one of the more established teams in South Korea but I didn't expect us to do THIS well to be honest. Once again we showed our scoring power by notching up 49 GOALS and showed we are made of stern things at the back by only conceding 25 GOALS. Not bad, not bad. We also had some good wins against Jeonam & Jeju along the way. We didn't show up against the big teams however, shown when we lost against Ulsan & Pohang. After the regular season finished, the league split into two groups with the points just being added to your total from the regular season.

13 WINS, 2 DRAWS & 6 LOSSES

CHAMPIONS of SOUTH KOREA. Another one ticked off the list and by some way. We won the title by a staggering 12 points with Ulsan trailing in our dust.

Easy as it comes in the FA Cup. We showed our quality once again and progressed easily through the rounds. We carried on our form and knocked out Suwon 3-0 in the Qtr-Final. It was Jeonbuk who were our next victims as we smashed them 4-0 in the Semi-Final. The final was a 2 legged affair and Pohang were no match for us. An aggregate score 6-2 was enough for us to lift the title.

We were drawn against Shanggang once again but this time in a knockout round. We couldn't quite overcome them in the 2 legs but I'm proud we came this far. It was a close game in the first leg which ended 0-0 but then we were put to the sword in a 2-0 defeat in the pivotal second leg.

K-League All Star Cup

I was chosen to manage the K Classic All Stars in this charity cup competition. (It's listed as a trophy I can win, so I went all out in it). Basically, the fans pick the first XI and then you pick the subs from the rest of the pool. It was an easy game to win, and we showed our quality with my impressive tactical knowledge shining through (joking).
