I'm not sure if I'm so keen on Sturridge. He's young, speedy, decent finisher, but his performances also seems to be inconsistent. And I don't like us buying young English talent, we squandered far too much on Henderson and Carroll, but then again we were desperate for another attacking player so Sturridge fits the bill.

We're hardly arch rivals, and I'm sure he'd stay at Chelsea if they were prepared to give him a new contract. It wouldn't be as if he's turning down Chelsea to come to us, ala Van Persie.

You find more strikers in the world who kick their 10-15 a season than those who get 30+ regularly, I assure you. Any striker who has consistently kicked 30+ a season is going to cost you ridiculous amounts of money, provided their not already at a top club as it is. Signing two strikers who can get you 10-15 goals a season to work with Torres is going to be both cheaper and also less riskier.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love either a Falcao or Cavani at Chelsea, both are top strikers. But I'd also be just as happy to see the club keep Torres and add some genuine competitive depth, which is lacking. Chelsea's track record on buying expensive strikers isn't good, so it makes just as much sense get two good players for the price of one superstar.

Chelsea were spoiled to have a player like Drogba, who was near on the complete striker.

Ba would be an improvement on Kalou, but I understand what you're saying. It's all about depth really.

Torres could well kick 20+ goals this season and people will still want him out, which isn't something you don't see or hear of often. But if Chelsea can add another striker or two who can kick 10-15 themselves, to compliment Torres, then that's going to be far more valuable than spending a ridiculous amount on a single striker, who's also no sure thing either.

They wouldn't sell Falcao cause they need the money then resign Torres, even if he was part of the deal his wages would be massive.

There's not a chance in hell you'll sign either in January.

He wont spend 40/50 million on a player for risk of him flopping, he'll buy someone who can support Torres rather than someone like Falcao/Cavani who are quite simular players.

aren't Chelsea drastically short on strikers too though? Im assuming they'll recall Lukaku in Jan then? or maybe try get Falcao in, or Hulk seens as the troubles he is in at Zenit?

Torres doesnt exactly have the best injury record, so if i were a Chelsea fan I wouldnt wanna just have him for the rest of the season, regardless of the 800 attacking mids you have behind him
