Use Notepad and open it that way. Remember that club name changes are primarily done through the editor data file, and that the lnc file is only a fallback option for those who have started a new save before applying the fix. Therefore, if you want to edit a club name, the below is what you'll need to do 👍

Use the pre-game editor and load the club name changes file, then change whatever you feel needs to be changed. Be warned that you may need to redo these steps for every re-release of this file, but once you've started a save game, it'll be immaterial anyway. This change will only work if done before starting a save game.

If there's any changes you feel strongly enough about, feel free to propose them for changing in the main file 👍

hi guys, how do i change the manchester united short name? I don't like Man Utd; I want to see "Manchester United"

I changed:

"CLUB_NAME_CHANGE" 680 "Manchester United" ""
"CLUB_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 680 "Manchester United" ""

starting a new game the name is correct. after I save and reload the game the name returns Man Utd
