you can adapt that file

 open it in the  FM21 editor- [select the DB you want to use in game when loading]  then save and verify   then you can use in FM21 and have a 10 year start up range

ideal for simming to a date several years in future to test a file etc but not to start a save IMO as you wont have had any transfers happening and a player's stats will look like he has played one long season so not realistic but a great tool to check a comp like you want to

I have done this before for World Cup/EUROS with no issues

the fixtures are set as you would add any real life league fixtures into a league set up 

 this way you can select the exact stadium for the exact match but not it seems here

strange thing is most fixtures+ stadiums are correct infact most groups are spot on its group D which is mad all games in Wembely

Hi mate can you shed any light why this is happening-

got all groups and fixtures set up correctly yet the times change in game slightly that's not a big deal but shouldn't be happening 

and the venues/stadiums do not stick to those set up either- they use the stadiums I have selected but not for all games 

eg Wembley seem to host most of the games in Group D yet I have set Hampden  etc to host games?

Big decision for me is do Wales ditch back 3 to go 4 at the back and allow Ramsey to play in CM as IMO he only plays if there is a 3 man CM

Got to go with the big man Moore as the striker👍 hopefully he is going to cause some damage in a really hard group Italy probably the form team in Europe on a superb run under Mancini[24 unbeaten on the bounce]  and Turkey  drew+won v France in the 2 qualification games

Hoping that a win v Swiss may secure 3 rd spot fingers crossed and really looking forward to the games and once again causing a few upsets on the way, a big ask though as Wales are up against it, but its great to have back to back Euros after decades of soooooooooooooo many near misses

Thought it would be a nice idea to have a thread regarding the Euros.

The idea is for users to select a nation and follow them through the tournament giving match reports/scouting players etc especially with respect to the smaller nations this would be handy.

couple of questions can you edit your initial forecast? and there is a cut off time to submit your predictions as once the game/s have started then noone can change their initial submission during a game …not that anyone would of course😉

when I was wanting to start a save game in previous game versions but in  the following season from the initial game set up dates-

 eg in the  current game  FM21 This would obviously be the 21 /22 season

 I would use a custom start date and real fixtures+results to get the league tables correct  for the ‘new’ season and then I did my own pre- confirmed free transfers pre game in the editor [eg Aguero to Barcelona to take place 1/7/21 ] and the loans money/non free transfers using the IGE for leagues I was interested in this way teams actually spend/receive money too

So the initial season   is played with real squads at game start eg 20/21  and then the  21 /22 Transfers take place when they should as in real life so the DB is more realistic IMO

The downside is not having correct winners of cups and player stats recorded[no big deal for me]

However I consider that better that starting the 21/ 22 season  in 2020 with teams basically having had major squad updates twice- the real life 2020 deals and the deals of 2021 added [without any money coming in/out so favouring the ‘big’ teams massively] and still having starting budgets to even buy more players!

Now IF I get a chance to ever start a save this version it will be in 2020 with the original DB set up, then put a transfer ban in place until Feb 2021 and then use FMRTE/IGE to address major non free transfers/loans/injuries etc

Its a question of what you guys want and if you want to change things perhaps a poll should be offered to users to see what people want? and then if it is possible.But it would be a massive amount of work too.

 IMO it is too  big an ask to maintain 2 data updates- one the way its done now and a ‘more realistic’ DB as you elude to above

 it would be one or the other IMO but this is just my input. 

No option is perfect its a question of what compromises people can live with, I suppose for me its the later option namely 2021 transfers taking place in 2021 not 2020

what DB are you using in game NB as stated the template is for use with default DB 

I have tested just using match day rules and no issues[you wont get squad registration dates if you are using only match day rules]

image 1 no need to register squad for UCL

re download file and start again as you have done something wrong

DO not remove the helpers as it is set up for covid rules so leave them in this time[I removed as I have created my own comps from scratch and not the same structure as the  default you are wanting to use]

also remember are you using 21 Default DB if not you need to save file in DB you are using in the editor first and follow tips above too

Swans overachieved IMO getting to the final well down in terms of resources etc and having sold the best player once again, as said earlier in thread wont be disappointed if they didnt go up as I cant stand the EPL 

next season will be a challenge as IIRC there are 8 players out of contract or wont return on loan, fingers crossed for some good free signings and another few top loans coming in
