@mons sorry to bother you again, but this photo is the one of Sami El Morabet (2000474682)

Assil Saïdi's (2000474700) photo is this one

Sorry for the confusion — I’ll cut both players myself so you won’t have to switch them again.

If I get some spare time, I’ll also cut the other players from the Euro U17 packs, since some of the source photos were too good not to share

@Cipier Brightening darker images like this one always looks better in-game. The easiest way is to go to this tab in Photoshop:

and tweak the brightness slider.

There is also a Photoshop action file, available for download here, which contains a lot of common actions, including one for brightening, for ease of use 😉

I'm mainly using GIMP, but I'll keep it in mind to brighten that kind of pictures. Would it be helpfull if I upload a brightened version, or is everything sorted for this instance?

How come this is listed as ‘unconfirmed’? Is it a lack of trustable sources or an other problem? (I'm a bit new to data update submissions) @LBOW6 Just in case I added these statements from transfermarkt.be & Club Brugge where is stated that Ivan Leko is the new manager as of now.

I don't suppose you have any idea at all who he might be, right?

No idea at all unfortunately :/

@mons In my original upload in the pack some pixels are missing above and under the eyebrow that I didn't notice. I fixed that cut so you can reject the one from the pack. Thanks in advance.

@mons

For visualization purposes, I’ve made four example cuts from the Portugal women’s source pack that’s currently pending (the cuts themselves aren’t perfect — just meant for demonstration).

Personally, I prefer cutting at the chin or around the point between the neck and shoulders. Otherwise, the faces become a bit harder to see, and the result starts to look more like the DF11 Player Faces Megapack — which is also a great pack, of course — just with a transparent background.

Hey,

With the inclusion of women in the game (and now in the megapack) this year, I was wondering what the proper cutting guidelines are for them before I start working on any sources myself.

For male players with longer hairstyles, the general rule I’ve followed over the years has been to include the full hair and cut underneath it. However, I’ve noticed that many of the recently accepted women packs have cuts where the hair is cropped around the chin or shoulders. Some of these also include slightly tilted heads — so I assume (and understand) that at this stage of the megapack with loads of new faces for women, adding a good number of faces is the main focus rather than maintaining perfect consistency.

So when I’m cutting sources for women with their hair down, where should I make the cut — below the hair, at the shoulders, or around the chin like most of the men’s cuts? And I assume the usual guidelines for tilted heads and similar aspects still apply?

Thanks in advance!

@mons

1. First of all, my bad regarding the Rijeka and Dolnośląski packs — they were sent to me yesterday via DM, so I assumed they hadn’t been cut yet. Feel free to reject them; sorry for not double-checking as I usually do.

2. I also noticed that I uploaded the wrong cut here — the one where the background hasn’t been fully removed yet.

@mons sorry for uploading twice for the same player, but today the team uploaded this picture that had a way higher quality than my previous source

Good cuts @Cipier 👏

Is it Photoshop that you use? If yes, I suggest using this very easy method to remove green lighting on faces like some of those in this pack:

I use GIMP for the majority of my cuts, I noticed the sources had green/yellow tints so I did remove the saturation of those colors. Afterwards I did resaturate the pictures because some of them looked very pale. Now I notice that resaturating those cuts also resaturates the green/yellow tints.

Are there similar methods/filters/actions available for GIMP? Or should I switch to Photoshop? Because with such actions it looks a bit easier to remove the tints without making the cut very pale.

@mons I'm sorry but this is a fault of mine. This is Miras Omatay (2000110990) from Qairat, so could you please reject this one? I'm making a FC Qairat pack so I'll upload the cut to the right player. As for Miras Kobeev (2000142549) I found a good source from FC Isloch so after I finish FC Qairat I'll upload the right cut so he has a face in the game. I got mislead by this picture of him where his information was right and he played for FC Qairat, so I figured that the Miras that played for FC Qairat according to the website was Miras Kobeev (2000142549), but I was wrong…

What's the source image for this one @Cipier? Looks a bit lacking in sharpness…

I used this one from the Jupiler Pro League website but I agree, could you reject that one? Because I also found this source and think this one is much better.

@Cipier, remember to crop your sources before putting them through remove.bg. Otherwise the eventual cut will not be as sharp as the original source.

I don't know what went wrong with this cut, because I did my usual steps, but now I can see the terrible sharpness of the cut. I redid the cut itself to see if something was wrong with my steps, but on my second try everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks for fixing it and notifying me!

Please remember to add the collar @Cipier 👍

Think it got removed while removing the background, noted it.

Good work all round @Cipier, but do avoid nudging the collar quite so much upwards. A couple of pixels just beneath the chin is enough 😉

Allright I'll keep that in mind for my future cuts that need the collar moved! Thanks for the feedback 🙂.

@Cipier , when you have a lot of images to upload, then you should upload them as a pack instead of individually and save the both of us some time.

You can also upload up to 50 images per pack instead of just 6 when done individually.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind for next times. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Good work @Cipier

For future cuts, keep in mind that the face should be straight-on, rather than slanting or at angle; i.e. the eyes are ideally in a straight line and parallel to the top or bottom of the cut. Also, leave no more than 2-3 pixels above the head when cropping the image 😉

I'll fix this myself 👍

Thank you for the tips and the video! I'll try my best to fix that for future cuts and if it's too difficult for me, then I'll just leave it as a source rather than a game ready cut 🙂.
