Anyway, Soriano and Begiristain have been very keen on reducing the wage bill and restructuring how we pay our players, primarily focusing on moving from high basic wages (100k+) to more conservative basic wages (70-90k) plus bonuses. I think Yaya even took a pay cut in his last contract.

Here's one for our Serie A followers, after 15 years in Italy Seb Frey has moved to Bursaspor. In his prime Frey was such an underrated keeper, he could have played at a higher level and I'm sure some kind of falling out hamstrung his international career. He actually went to Sunderland on my current FM game, ended up going to Liverpool for about £25m. Sign of things to come?

Also Madrid have agreed a £33.6m for a midfielder from Sociedad, Asier Illarramendi. Barely watch any La Liga so don't know much about him, must have something about him though.

Replace Liverpool with City and I'd be happy with that.
