Cheers. Ended up being a great season. Leeds in the Premiership at last.

I let assistant do the match prep as I feel the match prep in the beta is still a little buggy.

As for training: during pre-season I use very high team cohesion and match training on tactics.
Once pre-season is done I switch the general training to tactics on normal and I leave the match training on tactics.
Once the tactic is fluid I then change general training to Defending on normal.

sorry should have mentioned this before.

My Leeds teams results in first half of season using this tactic.

With regards to Byram and Lees I just rotated them into the team during games against weak teams in the cups or if I knew I was defo gonna win a game. Lees ends up excellent but I was a little disappointed by Byram. Aidy White also ends up been one of best LB in the game.

I actually signed Emile Mpenza and used him in the poachers role. If you want to use God (sorry mean't Becchio) then change the poachers role to an Advanced Forward as he plays much better in this role.

My starting eleven usually comprised of:

GK - Radek Cerny (purchased for 14k from QPR but Paddy Kenny is just as good)

DR - Lee Peltier
DC - Paddy Kisnorbo
DC - Jason Pearce
DL - Aidy White

DM - Paul Green
CM - Rodolph Austin (much better in CM role than in DM or CB)
CM - Jason Koumas (Signed on a free transfer)

RW/IF - Ross McCormack or Davide Somma
LW/IF - El-Hadji Diouf

ST - Emile Mpenza (free transfer) or Becchio (as an advanced forward)


Sold Paul Rachubka for 100k to Wigan. and only spent 14k on Cerny.
This team won me the championship with 6 pts clear over Blackpool. Also beat Tottenham 3-2 in League cup but then got knocked out by Bristol lol.

I also use Monty Gimpel as my substitute Defender as developing and playing him early like bringing him on for last 20 mins of every game really speeds up his development and he ends up one of the best defenders in the game. I'm in my fourth season and hes immense. Valued at 14m.

I've noticed that fm classic seems to be a lot easier in getting wins as the instant result feature does not have all the silly goals conceded by crosses within the match engine. I'm hoping that the release of the full game will correct this.

Was this used in classic mode or normal fm mode mate? I am testing it out for ya now with Monaco in french Ligue 2 in 'normal fm mode'. Will post my results.

Aye according to FIFA but what about those that believe the long name should be Republic of China, like I say its a political thing. They both warrant the same ID in FM because they are both the same country. If they gave separate ID's to both the Chinese Taipei and ROC They would be classed as two separate entities within football manager and therefore two separate teams or countries whereas they are just one. I don't know why they just didn't stick with Taiwan lol.

I think its the same thing mate. The Republic of China is otherwise known as Taiwan and the capital is Taipei City

From what I've read it seems that there is political conflict about what the area should be named so that would suggest why typing in either chinese taipei or republic of chinna into football manager search will take you to the same page.
