Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will trim his squad this summer, with a number of youngsters expected to leave Anfield. Suso, who has been on loan at Almeria, will be the headline name to depart, though Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas will go as well.

Any truth to this? I mean I can see Aspas and Alberto going, but surely not Suso

The first tournament I can remember watching all of is Euro 96 which was fantastic, the first World Cup being 98. I was only 1 in 90 and 5 in 94

WC 90 was my first and ofc Euro 92. Most memorable was WC 94 (probably because it was the best display from my national side ever in any tournament... fuckin' Sweden robbed us of a semi final).

Considering you always have injuries problems, Cesc would be good for ya, you'll have more depth in the middle.

Until now I just cared what my team was doing, being happy they will finish top 4 (being realistic and all, considering where we were at the beginning of the season) and looking good for the future.

Now... I hope Liverpool wins it just to rub it in, so I'll have an excuse to act like a cunt. He who laughs last, laughs better!

The amount of shit Liverpool is getting here lately is baffling to me. One would think they are this rich team who spent billions in the last years and they lost the title like children.

Well, most of the are children, including our manager and what he achieved at his level of experience and with the level of the players experience is nothing short of a miracle. I, as a Liverpool fan, am proud of my team and confident of it's future. YNWA

As far as I know, Schalke are Dortmunds arch rivals. Bayern are just title rivals.

Anyway, fair play to Dortmunds fans... he left, that's football life, but he was a very good player for them and deserved the send off. Apparently Germans aren't as bitter as you English lads.

Rodgers naivety has really cost them this past week imo.

Could be a good thing actually... he is only started and hopefully he learned some good lessons for the future

Agree with Sears. BR is young, still has to learn and clearly was outfoxed by Mou. But all is ok, top 3 guaranteed for this season is excellent. Wanted title this season more for Gerrard but he shot himself in the foot so.. eh.

I love how Liverpool plays, to me is does matter how my team is playing, but I have to agree with some folk here: sometimes you gotta play for result's sake only (sometimes).

Suarez is a diving cunt and I hate him for that.

When he returned from the 6 games ban he was on the goal scoring business and not the diving one (with little exceptions). As of late he is back to his diving antics and he is less about scoring goals.

The man is a god with the ball when he stays on his feet (a big WHEN here).

Bigger clubs tend to get more referee decisions going their way because they tend to control the possession in games and create more scoring chances.

You're not going to get many penalties if you're never in the penalty area.

I know we've had the most pens this season but part of it is down to the way we play

Exactly!

This thing with luck or lack of it in regards to injuries is baffling to me.

Injuries are part of the game and the fact is some clubs deal good with them while other not so much. Any team should have a plan for injuries: make sure they have quality replacements, a good youth setup to cover worst case scenarios and of course how they handle training and the injuries themselves (to minimize the risk of injuries and reduce the injury time).

If one club always blame their lack of trophies to injuries season by season (Arsenal), well, they have only themselves to blame really and maybe try and see what causes this year by year and address the issue rather then just moan and blame it on bad luck.

Mourinho isn't stupid.. he is a lot of things, but not stupid... he knows that anything else but a win will effectively end the title race for Chelsea (even then it's it's far from guaranteed) and at the same time if he manages a win with his best players it will require high effort which will affect the second leg of CL. So, it is normal to rest some key players for CL.

C'mon Atletico!

I want then to win it for 2 reasons:
1. they are the underdogs
2. all the other managers have won 2 already, meaning that if Simeone doesn't win it, somebody will equal Bob Paisley's record of 3

You might be lucky and land Simeone, especially if he wins la Liga (he knows next season it will be tougher to win it).

Anyway, the smart thing to do will be:
- hire a temp for the last 3 games (probably Giggs)
- wait at least until the end of the season to name a new FT manager (it would be stupid to rush a decision now)
- Van Gaal would be a good option for a season, max 2, but ONLY IF you couldn't land now the one for long term (Klopp=Simeone>Conte)

In my books Klopp and Simeone are of equal quality, but I see how Klopp is a bigger attraction being he is perceived to be a very loyal manager and you want a new Fergie (a manager to be here for you for years and years on end).

I don't want them to after that, it's like he believes it's already won.

Neah, his attitude was more like "we can do it" not "we already won it"... plus great motivating from the captain, you could clearly see how he drives him team mates
