Aaron Wilbraham in the Premier League for the second time. There's hope for my top-flight career yet. He's barely good enough for League One.

I can only assume that they're skint, otherwise the appointment of a failed League One manager with few redeeming features and the release of their first-choice keeper make no sense. Then again, every time I've seen Woods he's looked a liability. Sullivan may go down in stages these days, but he's not going to drop one in his own net.

Speaking of goalkeepers, why is Declan Rudd going to the U21 Euros and not Alex Smithies? Alex is (just) still eligible for the U21s, and he's played almost 200 games, including being a highly-rated Championship ever-present. Declan Rudd, by comparison, has played 30 in the same time frame, most in League One, and has only just had his first run in a team of more than five games. Absolutely mystifying.

Congrats to them. Risen about 5 levels in my lifetime - difficult to do in non-league, so to do it in the Football League on one of the smallest budgets in the country is remarkable.

Guaranteed to be a wet Tuesday in November when we go down there

Wonder what goes through professional footballers' heads at times.

'Oh look, we've just gone a goal down in a play-off final with 75 minutes to play. We're a bit nervous. Should I keep the ball and play the simple pass to steady the ship or hoof it into a corner?'

Northampton haven't made it hard for Bradford. They haven't kept the ball and seem to want to just get rid as soon as they can. Bradford have used their domination of possession to good effect. The game's sewn up. They'll be in League One next season.

Novak's gone. Turned down the contract we offered in October, and looks likely to link up with Birmingham City.

Vaughan, Simeon Jackson, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Jon Stead, please.

Hull grind out more results, though. Makes them suited to the Premier League in the same way as Stoke.

Speaking of Stoke, please tell me I'm not alone in hating Brighton's set-piece 'defending'. Preventing someone from jumping by holding them should be a penalty every single time. Why are they never, ever given?

I hope the same for O'Grady too, but I think we will be able to keep him. No idea why Dave Jones let us have him.

I bet the referee's performance was another highlight for you yesterday?

You've got to admit - the build-up to your second was interesting. Push in the back, free-kick, fair enough. Surely common sense dictates that you'd wasted your advantage with playing it down the side of the wall when we were asleep and then chipping a pretty dire cross into Smithies' hands. Why he booked your bloke because he wasn't ready for a quick free-kick God only knows. What's the point of a free-kick if you can't use it how you want to use it? I wasn't best pleased when we failed to clear the retake properly and you scored from it. We could debate whether the retake should have taken place until the cows came home. Personal view is that you wasted the free-kick and common sense dictates that the ref should play on.

Can't complain in the end, though. We got level, it was enough, the footballing gods smiled elsewhere (making a nice change), Peterborough went down.

On the day you were much the better side, especially in the first half. We froze, but still had the sheer firepower of Beckford and Vaughan to keep us in it. Hope we can keep those two, but I get the feeling we'll not be able to afford both.

Sounds like it's been a crazy day. Football League show should be decent tonight.

What's stress-free football like? Not had it for sodding ages. Bet this afternoon was heaven for you!

Barnsley fans will do that - class acts. They stood and applauded to a man for Pedal for Pounds 4. Contrast that with Peterborough's fans, who utterly ignored Alan Boothroyd's 40 marathons in 20 days a few weeks ago.

Football always surprises you. But what an atmosphere. 22,000 fans chanting 'YORKSHIRE' in unison, brilliant respect, all round celebrations.

Loved Barnsley's bench ordering Luke Steele to hang on to the ball in the 93rd minute and leaving it at his feet for the whole 2 minutes. Clayton was dancing on the pitch, players laughing and joking - all because Mile Jedinak had scored to relegate Peterborough. Dream afternoon.

Hoping for Wolves, Millwall or Peterborough dropping tomorrow, be nice to have all the local matches next year especially with Donny coming up.

Middlesbrough seem to be putting out a young team tomorrow because of injurys and there loan players returning to there parent clubs already. We'll still make a meal out of it and struggle.

At the other end I think Hull will bottle it and Watford will end up 2nd

Have you seen Middlesbrough's away form of late? Last 14 games away from home, 1 win, 1 draw. Don't think it matters who they play. Their form has been staggering this second half of the season - 11 points in 17 games since January.

It is what they call 'made-up' as you will never know. Only a fool would use it.

You do live in this reality, right? I ask because those last two statements were phenomenally ignorant to the realities of rape reporting and crime statistics.

Hope you're not on a coach, Ad. Buggered if I know where we'll be able to put the away coaches. 21,000 tickets sold - should be the biggest crowd of the season.

Yep, the South Stand. No way we really could offer any more tickets, unfortunately for your fans. It'll be a big home turnout, hopefully, so we'll need the capacity. Shame it couldn't have been pay on the day.

Cannot wait for our trip to Huddersfield next week. Win and we're safe, draw and we may be safe, lose and we're f*cked.

Really hope the 'massive' club from Sheffield manage to fall into the bottom three. Every time I've seen them this season they've been awful.

What are your predictions for Saturday tm? P.s. where's good for a few beers in Huddersfield?

Predict a 2-0 Barnsley win. Get the feeling we'll choke on the day (because we always do at home in the pressure games in front of big crowds), and almost every side involved in the battle has a history of getting one over us (yourselves, Peterborough, Millwall, Crystal Palace). But I'm hoping that Peterborough get hammered, we're leading with a few minutes to go and can let one in to save yourselves and put Posh down.

I would recommend the Gas Club, but I've not been there in ages, and I'm not sure what the police arrangements will be. WYP overreact to anything more threatening than a child's balloon (or an Oliver Norwood floated corner), so 4,000 Barnsley fans descending on Huddersfield will have them panicking. They've already stipulated the home ends will have to be all-ticket, probably limiting the crowd to 17,000 rather than the 20,000+ it could have been.

You know what? This division can fuck off if it thinks this makes any kind of sense. 57 points and not safe? Do one. Not having it. Next Sunday is going to be horrible, though. Just have a feeling in my gut that it's written in the stars. Teams who historically seem to have a hoodoo over us are all involved in the mix. If Palace lose to Peterborough and Barnsley beat us, then we'll be relying on the freefalling Middlesbrough to get a result against Wednesday, all assuming that Millwall get out of it by beating Palace on Tuesday.

Not in the top three I've seen live this season. Knockaert x2 and Boyd beat it.

What a win for us. And results went our way (for once). Beckford and Vaughan absolutely tore the Millwall backline to shreds - Shittu in particular was made to look like a pub player. They hit the bar at 0-0 from a free-kick, and Smithies made a great save just before half-time from another free-kick, but other than that Millwall offered nothing. We've scored three, forced four great saves from the keeper, had a couple cleared off the line and put six or seven wide in an absolutely dominant display.

When I saw Norwood starting I was a little worried as he's been lightweight of late, but he put in a superb performance, winning more tackles against a very 'robust' Millwall midfield than he's put in in the rest of the season combined. Would have been easy to wilt in the face of their bullying, but the lad stood up superbly and he and Gobern absolutely bossed it in the centre of the park. Hard to believe they're both only 21.

Sounds like we just didn't play. In the mean time, everybody else performed, yet a-fucking-gain. I expect this kind of ruthless behaviour at the other end of the table (you know, the one we're 13 points behind), but isn't the point of being near the bottom that you're meant to be shit rather than actually quite good? This is my point about no one deserving to go down. Too many teams playing too well picking up too many results (everyone over 50 points) to deserve the drop. If we go down with a record points tally it'll just confirm the curse we have over us.

Good news for us. Hopefully we'll go there and play like we have the last three away games, been a little unlucky only to have six points out of nine. We seem to be responding to the better surfaces away from home, and we'll have a big following for a Tuesday night. I can't go, sadly, because I have work in Leeds and Wakefield.

A point would be a reasonable return for us. 4 points from these 2 games would be a decent result. I hear you have a couple of players banned for Tuesday.

Looked like we were going to get a hammering for 20 minutes, until Sean Scannell's brilliant solo goal. Wolves came right out of the blocks and scored early doors, then looked threatening every time they went forward, without testing Smithies. After that equaliser, though, Wolves capitulated, and Town absolutely bossed it. They had one more chance in the whole game, when Roger '£8 million quid?' Johnson managed to hit the corner flag after getting an open goal when six yards out. Beckford's two goals in a minute were brilliantly taken, and you had to laugh when Jamie O'Hara lost it after a challenge from the returning Keith Southern and decided to punch Southern in the face to get himself sent off. Best Town performance since the corresponding fixture in October - first time since then we can say we deserved to take a side for half a dozen.

Speaking of Roger Johnson, I've seen better central defenders playing at the local park. Got destroyed at the McAlpine by James Vaughan, and the same happened again. What a waste of money.
