2018 September Friendlies – San Marino
A frustratingly shit performance at home against Kuwait. I wanted the upset victory as they weren't too tough an oppostion, but as you can see we could barely hold onto theball, let alone get a shot on goal. Fucking UGHHH
Blagh. 2nd loss to Lithuania during my tenure. Another shit performance. I want at least a goal in our next match, a Euro qualifier against Montenegro in October or November! This is poor. Our best year was 2014, I want it to always be the present year!

Time for a Serie B season with Arpilia. I'm anxious, excited, nervous, and maybe a little randy ha ha. Although it seems large, just brought in some youth and role players, did the annual purge, and now we're ready to rock'n'roll against the big boys!
Pre season 2018 & TIM Cup – Aprilia
As with all previous seasons, I let my ass man handle it. Again, didn't really care as long as we got into match fitness and my SM boys were training well. We also played two cup games, and boy howdy, look at us throwing our weight around in the big leagues. Have a look:
A solid home cup victory over Cremonese. Our first competitive match up here almost at the top of the Italian leagues
Look at that. Luck is all I can say. They had tons of clear cut chances they put wide, and we were able to get a away victory over Parma. What a huge victory for the Apriliani!

Very very pleased with the large amount of youthful Sammarinese players brought in to train. Loof is a role playing CB. And the 3 loans are just some defensive cover to ensure we can survive at this level. Purged Bonnani and Burini from the payroll but that left me in a bit of a defensive lurch that ws filled by those loanees. Letting Ferrara go to Salernitana was tough, as he had 4.5 star potential, but couldn't get a game in with the form of Pellé and Florian; plus I wanted to give Tomassini and others any time those two didn't get, so I just had to let him go. Loaned out a ton of youngsters as well as Stefanelli, as he just isn't that quality and would barely have got any games this year, which was the same as last year for him, so I thought it'd be better for his growth to play somewhere else.

Again! As opposed to extra time, a second half only gods can imagine. Holy shit boys, I might make it though the playoffs into Serie B.
Also....Barbato wants to fucking play in the Serie B apparently!
Everyone wanted to see again!!!!

On to a two leg final against Brescia....an actual team we all know...they were what, in Serie A like 3 years ago or less? They do the up and down "Brimingham" roller-coaster right?....fuck

...Another shocking run in.
Started off the month winning a scrappy cup tie on penalties after losing the away leg 0-2 taking a 2-0 lead into there
Following the awful Trapani result I drew the cup Final 1st leg 2-2 away, which I knew meant I just needed an 0-0 draw at home and we'd be Campioni della Coppa Italiana. I could only hope our league form wouldn't dip...
Look at it..
A 0-0 home draw against top 10 Catanzaro guaranteed us playoffs in some fashion, so although I was quite frustrated at dropping easy points at home, at least I knew the season wouldn't slip away from us in a catastrophic fashion.
....a 2-0 in the second leg of the Final means:

Everyone showed up to take in the glorious day of victory!
..and they paid up for the privilege as well!
Blegh..and then we limped in with a shit scoreless 0-1 loss away to cap of the disappointing end of the league. The slide had hurt us, but not killed us.
Welp. 3rd by one point...but in the playoffs. Our opposition up first in the quarters? Former parent club Albinoleffe.
Wish us luck.

Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C & Coppa Italia Lega Pro
The 0-1 home loss against Taranto was a foreboding start to March...I thought...no...it couldn't be...again?!
We threw away a 2-0 halftime lead at Frosinone in a top of the table battle, but you know what they say: "Win your home games, draw your away games, and the title is there waiting for you" so I wasn't too discouraged, just annoyed at our poor 2nd half performance.
A solid 1st leg semi cup victory means we may just have some silverware at F.C. Aprilia this year!!!
A dismantling of Casertana followed the cup victory and then a clutch last minute 3-2 away victory at
LeedsLecce just might give us the push into the final months to bring it all home!!!Ugh, the 6-pointer against Nocerina may have cost us a chance at the title, but if that turns out to be the case in the run out then I am determined to make 2nd place, which happens to be 1st place in the playoff table

Ugh, the Nocerina loss was a tough one; We went down 1-0, brilliant effort to get back 1-1, then 1-3 at the half
However, three wins in three following this blood boiler, albeit the wins were scraped like the uterus of Elizabeth Taylor, made me beam with Aprilian pride! This was our time! The snows were melting and la primavera looked like it would bequeath to me the child of promotion.

Thought I might let you guys take a look at Simone "The Gobbs" Gobbi, my best Sammarinese player in the national team and club team. He has decided he is too big for our club and has desired to move on to a bigger club. I will dictate who he goes to, but I am willing to let him go and thrive for the glory of San Marino! As you can see, he is probably the most quality Sammarinese player you could have imagined

Nothing of note. Loaned out 7 youngsters and brought in an 18 y.o Sammarinese MC who will just be trained in the reserves. Resigned a bunch of players contracts for another season this winter as well.
After that slow start to 2018, we got down to business!

Quite, in my personal view one of the challenges at the pinnacle difficulty in FM. Yeah, patience helps, but I've found something almost freeing to be able to call up my boys that I like, and just go out and have a match with England/Ukraine/Good Euro Country number 14/etc. and know we'll lose by a number of goals, but take the positives out of maybe a goal for us, a nice passing movement, a shot on goal, hell even just giving a 15 year old boy a cap in a competitive match makes me content to continue this career for a number of years.

November & December 2017 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C & Copa Italia Lega Pro
A November that Guns'n'Roses can sing about for years to come. 15 out of 24 possible points and no losses! We literally cannot stop scoring, Pellè and Isoufi just relishing the chance to put the ball in the net multiple times every game it seems, and having the skills to back it up.
A 3-0-1 December in the league is still a bright light in early winter. Despite the final game of the year a 1-2 loss, after going up 1-0 from yet another magical Graziano Pellè strike, I am tickled with our season thus far, now to continue this into la primavera and ascend into Italian football significance.
Two games and 0 losses in the Cup also brings about a cup run into the new year! It was especially delightful to beat the San Marino club team with a team full of national youngsters they didn't want or had discarded.
Late in December, I also picked up a young Sammarinese defender that I had seen without a club who I didn't want the ole retiring bug to bite
Sitting pretty in the Top 5, looking like we may make waves in the playoffs this year!
Get him on a free a few years in if you want the lower leagues to be at your mercy!
