I have taken it upon myself to lead the great nazione of La Repubblica di San Marino. It is a nation home to an astoundingly average footballing population of 32k, and I am the American manager to lead them International Glory!

2013 Best Eleven
Ahh the frustration begins. To be fair I have been going for it as opposed to sitting back. I figured I would lose anyway, and losing by 10 while going for it like the great Sammarinese people want is far more noble than sitting back and losing by 6 like our surrounding neighbors of the Apennine Peninsula. Clearly we've got some work ahead of us.

Would yah look at that, some wins! And goals! A competitive point! Things are starting to to look up for my tiny landlocked Olive-skinned assemblage. I was very pleased with our showing in 2014.

Not as good of a year as 2014, but still some positives to be had. Another competitive point, more goals. The aforementioned coupled with some good performances against England and Israel and I suppose I'm content. Despite this, I felt I needed to somehow make my way into the club world, so as to snap up some of my more solid Sammarinese youngsters/players and train them up to the pedestals of Rome! So I started the Hunt For Red....for a club... wish me luck!

Wow.......awful. Not a point, barely a ripple of the net, for us that is....this is where I felt the FM-game debilitating annoyance of managing a shit team..but I pushed forward as 2016 was also the year of my appointment of Aprilia in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C. This was an opportunity to sign some of my Sammarinese youngsters, maybe a vet or two, and get them trained and ready to win the World Cup in the next century as staff.
van6969
Aprilia
I was appointed on June 3rd of 2016. The team coming off a 16th place finish, just 2 places above the drop into Italian lower league oblivion. I came in initially to just keep the club afloat, getting decent enough results to maintain my job, while bringing in a ton of my boys from San Marino and just train the shit out of them and play/start them regardless of whether or not they are the best option, in the best vain of form, or even half a star of current ability. This may change in the future....
Pre season 2016 – Aprilia
Pre season
Let my ass man handle it, didn't really care as long as we got into match fitness and my SM boys were training well.
Transfers
San Marino Players:
Ugolini (17 y.o. CB)
Peluso (18 y.o. AMRL/ST)
Valli (18 y.o. D/WB/MR)
Gobbi (17 y.o. CB)
Mularoni (18 y.o. DL)
and the only non-regen
Battistini (21 y.o. A/ML)
Was very pleased with the intake of multiple Sammarinese youngsters, all of whom already had at least 1(Some 10+) caps on my national team despite their tender ages; Gobbi had been capped since he was 15 for example. Many of those I released were the top earners. One of which was Lisi, who had been the previous year's player of the season and happened to be the record appearance holder for the club with well over 100, but whatever, I knew at this level there were literally thousands of players with comparable stats that I could pay 10% of his wages, so I bounced him and multiple others like him.

Aprilia
August 2016 through November 2016 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C & Copa Italia Lega Pro
Started our season off in the Cup and advanced in the group with two performances of varying quality. Good to see my boy Gobbi in amongst the goals!
The league in August was the same as the cup, two vastly different games of different quality performances and thus, different quality results.
A 2-2-2 September started to really give me an idea of the impact of my vast personnel turnover, inconsistency and lack of chemistry in full effect. One of the losses saw us go crashing out of the cup to a Lecce team, who have fallen in Leeds-like proportions, after going ahead 2-0 only to end the game 2-3. At least Marfisi and Florian starting to solidify themselves as the standouts in my 2016/17 Aprilia team.
A 1-2-3 October with two scoreless games. It was a rough beginning of autumn for us and I had to hope the other seasons of Le quattro stagioni by Vivaldi held something different.
A 3-0-3 November was better than the previous month, but left us entering the final month of the year still as inconsistent as ever.
A shining in the field of inconsistency that is our season, Florian already has 15 goals in the league

Aprilia
December 2016 through April 2017 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C
January Transfers:
Nothing. Released 3 reserves for a mutual termination fee of $5K each; all were moaning about loans and playing time etc.,etc.
A pretty solid December led us into 2017 still displaying our inconsistency, but having the positive performances outweigh the negative ones.
A pretty poor January saw us pick up a possible 4 points out of 12. The only positive light is the fact that Florian cannot stop scoring!
A 1-2-1 February saw the continuation of the physical (or simulatory). manifestation of pure, undeniable inconsistency continue to plague my team from the province of Lazio.
3 wins for 3 in March gave me hope that we just might finish out this season on a tear! Everyone getting in on the scoring action!
A fitting 1-0-5 final month of April for us. Awful run in, as apparently we were starting to display our inconsistency per month as opposed every game.
My season reaction...meh. Inconsistent as hell but 12th out of 20 isn't really too far off where we deserved.
Damien Florian was the Top goalscorer of the league finishing with 22 league goals, so he gets
2016/2017 Aprilia Best Eleven
De Bellis is a great lower league keeper, half-Canadian/half-Italian. My Sammarinese boys Gobbi and Mularoni performing, and Florian & Marfisi proving my earlier notion correct of them being my interpretation of "world-beaters"

Appreciate man! Thanks! Ha, I think I've seen some people win the 2022 World Cup with them in past FM installments but I was always skeptical. Hoping for that competative win to come soon I think this club will be an exciting challenge, especially as I continue to bring in my boys. Florian should be a must-buy for anyone doing a future lower league career fyi.
Thanks! Yeah man. Did something similar on FM13, even got a couple competitive wins. The problem on the last installment was that all my Sammarinese would retire randomly, especially regens, at super young ages when they didn't have a club, even if I was consistently capping them for the natty team. This effect has been changed in FM14 I've seen. I mean I know the practice of retire at any age if they don't have a club for a period, but it was ridiculous last year and I got annoyed and ended up taking the Denmark job as I had already established myself as a solid club manager in the late 20teens.

Aprilia
Time for my 2nd full season with Aprilia. I know a little bit more about my team and vice versa. A huge staff overhaul took place that I feel will benefit la squadra moving forward, as well as the obligatory purge of the over-earners, but I had a more solid tactical as well as personnel foundation.
Pre season 2017 & Copa Italia Lega Pro – Aprilia
Pre season
As with last season, and usually how I do all pre-seasons, I let my ass man handle it. Again, didn't really care as long as we got into match fitness and my SM boys were training well. We also played two cup games, and the inconsistency of my team reared it's ugly head again.... could it be another one of those seasons?!
Transfers
San Marino Players:
Guidi (19 y.o. D/MC)
Terenzi (18 y.o. M/AMRC)
Venerucci (18 y.o. MC)
a couple of non-regens
Palazzi (30 y.o. DLC)
Setffanelli (24 y.o. ST)
Was very pleased with the intake of a few Sammarinese youngsters and also a couple of vets! Palazzi is notorious for being the best Sammarinese footballer whenever you start a new game in any FM since 2012. Vandenbroek is a Belgian who can cover both fullback positions since I let D'Elia go, who happened to be the new record appearances holder in the team as of our previous season, in the much smaller over-earners purge. Also, Marfisi destroyed the previous record transfer fee brought in, and helped us as we had/have been struggling with money issues since I took over. Isoufi is a solid lower level attacking mid/striker who is a Dutch-Afghani (which I think is neat and always like to have something like this in all my games). Sala and Epaillard are two center midfielders that can shore up this position following the departure of Marfisi and the loan completion of Jakovlevs. And of course, despite Florian being a lower level god, another striker caught my eye, and I jumped at the chance to get name you all might actually recognize, the poor man's Inzaghi....Graziano Pellè!
Like I said, a nearly complete overhaul of staff. New Ass man, an entire new first team coaching staff. New Head Physio, Head of Youth Dev, Scouting department, KABLAM! I need the right men around me to lead F.C. Aprilia to the lofty peaks of the divisiones de Italia.

September & October 2017 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C & Copa Italia Lega Pro
A 3-1-2 September spooked me tad, as it was the same sort of inconsistencies that really cost us last year. However it was a pleasing sight to see we had no problem finding the back of the net! The 6-4 win over Salerintana at the end of September was exciting and gave me hope going into the autumn season that brought us so much misery last year
Ahhhhhhh. A magical October of league and cup success combined! Only one loss, although disappointingly seeing us not find the net, that came as the third game in a 3 game week at the end of the month; I certainly will let it slide. This season is starting to look like it might shape up into one to actually remember!
Snagged a young Pole on a free to continue to give me youthful growth in the midfield.
Many shining 's this season! Battistini, one of my Sammarinese, performing exquisitely, Rante playing quite well on the right wing, and Pellè/Florian/Barbato lighting up the back of opponents nets.
Also, you're not seeing things, that is De Bellis scoring a goal. My keep can hit a free kick every now and then, although I have stopped this tactical approach following a free kick getting cleared and a pacey opposition striker walking it into the open net on the counter....

Not a bad year all in all. My club players are all progressing and showing themselves in the San Marino Best Eleven and on the international stage in general. 2 friendly wins and another competitive point is definitely a solid showing for the mighty Sammarinese! Again, we also are showing decent touch in front of the net as well, which is pleasing to my SanMarino-Blue American eyes
Overall Best Eleven until this point
Good to see some of my youngsters in the famed halls of the Sammarinese Best Eleven ever [since 2013].

Exactly. I feel the same way. Aprilia is making me excited this year
van6969
Aprilia
November & December 2017 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C & Copa Italia Lega Pro
A November that Guns'n'Roses can sing about for years to come. 15 out of 24 possible points and no losses! We literally cannot stop scoring, Pellè and Isoufi just relishing the chance to put the ball in the net multiple times every game it seems, and having the skills to back it up.
A 3-0-1 December in the league is still a bright light in early winter. Despite the final game of the year a 1-2 loss, after going up 1-0 from yet another magical Graziano Pellè strike, I am tickled with our season thus far, now to continue this into la primavera and ascend into Italian football significance.
Two games and 0 losses in the Cup also brings about a cup run into the new year! It was especially delightful to beat the San Marino club team with a team full of national youngsters they didn't want or had discarded.
Late in December, I also picked up a young Sammarinese defender that I had seen without a club who I didn't want the ole retiring bug to bite
Sitting pretty in the Top 5, looking like we may make waves in the playoffs this year!
Get him on a free a few years in if you want the lower leagues to be at your mercy!

FORZA SAN MARINO!
van6969
Quite, in my personal view one of the challenges at the pinnacle difficulty in FM. Yeah, patience helps, but I've found something almost freeing to be able to call up my boys that I like, and just go out and have a match with England/Ukraine/Good Euro Country number 14/etc. and know we'll lose by a number of goals, but take the positives out of maybe a goal for us, a nice passing movement, a shot on goal, hell even just giving a 15 year old boy a cap in a competitive match makes me content to continue this career for a number of years.
Thanks! Oh I'm keeping it somewhere I suppose ha ha
van6969
A frustrating start to the new year with this game occurring on January 7th. We should have buried something into the net for another 3 points and further solidifying ourselves in contention to ascend the Italian leagues.

Thanks! Hopefully I can continue it into 2018!!
Oh man, it's one of those signings that affect me in the manner that I'm gonna have to suggest him in every "FM 2014 Good Bargain Players" forum/thread I see from now on haha

Good luck

January 2018 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C
January Transfers:
Nothing of note. Loaned out 7 youngsters and brought in an 18 y.o Sammarinese MC who will just be trained in the reserves. Resigned a bunch of players contracts for another season this winter as well.
After that slow start to 2018, we got down to business! We're looking good, two more wins, 6 points to solidify our sport in the top 3 somewhere, and more goals, goals, goals!

February 2018 – Aprilia
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C
Ugh, the Nocerina loss was a tough one; We went down 1-0, brilliant effort to get back 1-1, then 1-3 at the half Reamed em during the team talk and boy did they respond, bringing it back to 3-3. Then an offside goal scored by them in the 88 minute really stuck the dagger in my heart. In reality, the dagger had already been stuck in, twisted, and I had been Kali Ma'd due to the fact that throughout the game we had two goals called back for offside and one for a foul....so this game fucking made me give FM the perennial FUCK YOU!
However, three wins in three following this blood boiler, albeit the wins were scraped like the uterus of Elizabeth Taylor, made me beam with Aprilian pride! This was our time! The snows were melting and la primavera looked like it would bequeath to me the child of promotion.
Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone C Table through 01/03/2018
Riding High, still disappointed in losing the 6-pointer against Nocerina at home, but despite that
Thought I might let you guys take a look at Simone "The Gobbs" Gobbi, my best Sammarinese player in the national team and club team. He has decided he is too big for our club and has desired to move on to a bigger club. I will dictate who he goes to, but I am willing to let him go and thrive for the glory of San Marino! As you can see, he is probably the most quality Sammarinese player you could have imagined
If you were interested, here you can take a look at la squadra up until this point. Let me know if you want to see anyone specific. I will probably post more Sammarinese players and their growth at the end of the year
