Hodgson must have told him there is no way back. Defoe will absolutely destroy the MLS, he's still easily good enough to start for a PL club.

Horrific decision with the Wes Brown tackle, just a routine ordinary clearing tackle.

Great to see Distin giving Suarez grief after his ankle stamp on him last season that went completely unpunished.

Gerrard is a problem because he is a talented player and the captain, but simultaneously doesn't really fit into the system we're going for. Rooney is playing the role behind a central striker like Welbeck, Sturridge or Carroll so there's no space for Gerrard there, he's not mobile enough to be box-to-box (Wilshere on form is better at that anyway) and Carrick is the better defensive player with short passing. We should play Carrick and Wilshere if we're going 4-4-2, but Gerrard is the captain and there's no way Hodgson wouldn't be torn apart by the media if he were to be dropped.

Tom Cleverley at 24 years old ought to be better than he is now. He's not a bad player, but at most, ought to be a squad player for United. The problem I have with Cleverley's involvement with the England squad is not that he's not good enough to be part of it, but that he's been pretty average for us this season, and if he can get into the squad regardless of form, then he's being over-estimated. I also think that Gibson's shooting and through balls were better than Cleverley's, for what he lacked in dynamism during his time at Old Trafford in comparison. Even when Tom Cleverley was at Wigan, he didn't look head and shoulders above the other midfield options they had at the time, so the argument that he'd look really good in a weaker side doesn't hold too much water, unless you're of the opinion that he has massively improved in the last 18 months.

But how did he know if your point was poor, if he didn't even know what your point was? Hmm.

If a reader can't ascertain your point, it is not being made clearly. It doesn't make your point poor, it's about delivery, not the content.

Dan Taylor now claiming players wearing orange boots 'leaves him cold'.

Why is Xenophobia allowed if it's in the Guardian?

What point are you poorly making here?

Easily Zlatan. Some of those choices are odd, half of Bale's goals from last season were better than most of those.

Decent squad, nice to see Lallana get some recognition. Can't see a good reason why Defoe/Welbeck/Cleverley have been picked though.

Completely agree. You could argue that Welbeck is picked because of his England form rather than his United form, but Cleverley has been pretty anonymous in between squad announcements for United, and Defoe hasn't pushed his way in front of an underwhelming Soldado. What other options do England currently have up front instead though? You don't want to over-promote a youngster for no reason, or bring back somebody who is not going to be anywhere near consideration for the World Cup squad.

Throughout all of his time at Everton and at Manchester United he has condemned any sort of diving. He is not protecting Young, he is trying not to convey the [accurate] impression that Young has undermined him by continuing to do so. He's probably one of the most consistent managers in the league on this issue, so your point is unfounded.

What Moyes says to the media and what Moyes will no doubt say to Ashley Young are going to be two very different things.

Van Persie, Rooney and Suarez on top form are all equals, and I would say Sturridge isn't quite at their level, at least not yet. On current form though, assuming that the performance against Arsenal was a blip, Suarez and Sturridge are looking slightly more prolific, although I rather have Rooney/Van Persie up front in my team.

That is shocking, he is actively attempting to injure a young kid who is just starting his career. Should have a substantial ban for that, really poor stuff.

I've heard that Neymar is over-rated and Gareth Bale is the third best player in the world. Was I misinformed by the British press?

I like Holloway, and he did a brilliant job in getting them up in the first place. If Parish knows they'll probably go down, they might as well take the hit, plan for the Championship and keep Holloway, knowing that he's capable of bringing them back up. Who is going to be able to keep this Palace side up that isn't out of their wage packet, has too good a reputation, or isn't currently at a better club now?

Its due to on Thursdays NBC has Parks & Rec and 3 new comedies. But all 3 are bombing and they have said if they carry on going down in ratings it likely to drop all 3 and bring in shows like Community and 2 Broke Girls that is ready. The bonus would be that if it did happen say before Christmas the likelyhood of it then getting pushed to a 22 episode season would go up

What are the names of the bombing comedies, out of interest?

Not really that good, to be honest. He starts off quite creepy, and I'm sure she's just thinking, 'I'll just a few free drinks out of this cunt and then leave'. He would have to have made her an offer that shows she was specifically looking for money to make it better, like he offers to take her off on holiday right there and then, to prove she was gold digger material.

Pretty controversial though, taking Lampard over a Barkley or a Morrison would keep the papers on side, which is unfortunately half the England job.

Primary source material is always more useful than secondary.

Always.

Mein Kampf is pretty much exclusively useful to those interested in Hitler's psychological state, rather than for any information about the period.
