Coincidentally we played a pre-season friendly against Sunderland tonight. Any thoughts of this being a game to test the waters and see where you are quickly went out the window when the news broke. Very sad atmosphere amongst both sets of supporters. We did have a minute's silence before the match and a minute's applause in the 6th minute in honour of the young lad. Result (2-3) didn't matter at all tonight and I'm just glad that this turned out to be a very tasteful and respectful tribute to the young man and you had to have a heart of stone if that didn't bring a tear to the eye. Also our chairman came out with this gem of a gesture before the match started:

Proud of my club tonight

Rest in peace little Bradley

Glad I'm not a hartlepool fan... looks nice in concept images but in reality that's gonna look abysmal

A little something like this:

I don't know but this one does look completely different to the concept doesn't it?!

Rangers knocked out by Luxembourg's Progres Niederkorn...who lost their first choice keeper after 32 minutes. Jesus.

Had the great displeasure of watching both of those games. Made non-league football look like something Johan Cruyff invented.

I seriously don't know what is wrong with that team? I know they signed a ton of random foreigners from Mexico and Portugal, who might need so time to settle, but seriously the Luexmbourg units are part-timers (I believe) and they should have beaten them easily over two ties

We finally have a goalkeeper! Ben Williams signs after leaving Bury. I've never heard of him to be honest, thoughts @gfnx25 ?

He's shit.

No honestly, think there still might be a good keeper in him, as I think he was Bradford's POTY for a reason. Problem for him was, that Pep Flitcroft used to rotate his goalies like his underwear and field a whole new defence every week, which didn't help his cause. After some poor performances with the odd fumble here and there his confidence was totally shot. Might have been worth a punt as backup, but his desire for game time and his (probably) high wages left us no choice but to send him to Narnia and shaft him.

Wish him the best of luck though. NOW YOU PLEASE TAKE DANNS OFF US FOR FECKS SAKE WILL YA?

League One next season is going to be a right shithouse for southern clubs anyway. That's even before the usual FL fixture feck ups.

Our fixtures are quite kind to us. our midweek games are mostly at home, or at places like Fleetwood and Blackpool which is quite as easy to get for us. Only bummer is the New Year's clash at Scunny, which is quite AIDS

Course they are, but given that their absolute car crash of a takeover saga has now collapsed anyway, I just cannot see them spend a significant amount into an already weakened team. Thing with Grayson is, that he delivered his best work when he had some sort of stability going on at his clubs or when he was given time to turn things around. Don't think he'll get much time at Sunderland I'm afraid

Hold the phone, it's our away kit...

https://www.pafc.co.uk/siteassets/image/kits/away/away-upright.jpg

What is the actual point in having a green home and away shirt? Other than that, I quite like the kit. Bit psychedelic so might give you a headache when you're a bit plastered but other than that it's quite catchy. Think the home kit looks better though. Quite fitting that the player who is very likely to be on the physio table for most of the season, is modelling the kit

Is anyone genuinely arsed about pre-season games? Tbh unless my team was down to 7 players and would give starts to an obscene amount of trialists to watch out for or go on a sesh in a foreign country it's all pretty much a bore. Oh and, playing a Premier League team at home, which would draw huge crowds but usually and up being dull toss ups between your team and a side with an average age of 16 a half.

That said, our pre-season looks a little something like this:

18 July: Macclesfield Town (A) 19:30
22 July: Crewe Alexandra (H) 15:00
25 July: Salford City (A) 19:30
28 July: Tranmere Rovers (A) 19:30

@gfnx25 looks like you could be getting our best defender!

But please don't give us Danns!

Ah, I see you're a man of culture aswell and you're hanging around our message board.

Lee Clark said today that we offered him a three year deal, but face competition from Blackburn and Wigan, so that might be that.

HOWEVER, we did sign two players today. Joe Skarz returning from Oxford and Adam Thompson joining from Southend. Skarz will probably be backup for Greg Leigh, while Thompson will probably go straight in at CB. Southend fans being absolutely pissed about him leaving is quite a bonus for me tbh. However, with Nathan Cameron returning from injury, Thompson and Antony Kay we are aleady quite stacked at CB, unless the latter get smoved on like Leon Barnett did, Add those two to our other signings Stephen Dawson, Neil Edwards, Jermaine Beckford, Joe Murphy and Callum Reilly our squad is shaping up quite nicely.

Oh, and regarding Danns: Come on you Oystons!! I count on you!

Weren't Boro interested in Monk before? Could see him go there. Don't think he'd be the right call for Palace just now.

Read something earlier that Leeds' owner wanted a DoF or something who used to work at Boro, so I could see Karanka going Leeds

Pray for Bury FC my old friends, because yesterday we played every bit like a side going doon. No midfield, no bite, no fight, just woeful. We have our neighbours from Dale visiting us on Thursday, this will either be a right laugh or a right punch in the cunt.

The League One table is shaping up a little something like this:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/561DpXZyyMoHK2RtLCzpgWvRUZAhmLmucvBtL3nv.jpg

This has banana skin written all over it. Not only because we had a shocking result at Oxford but also due to other teams getting the odd result here and there (legit thought Swindon had fekked it but they are right back into it after winning twice in a row). Our cause would be greatly helped with results for our beloved neighbours at Rochdale vs. Vale and Millwall at Shrews. Going to be a bit scrappy.

Trying to find a cuttable source of Timo Mauer, he's a youth player at RB Leipzig but not finding anything good at all. I've found one, but it's too small.

Drew 0-0 at Millwall yesterday. We're at a stage in the season, where any point might be vital, so I'll happily take that. Not the best of all games though, as Millwall were a bit out of ideas and decided to just hoof it up the pitch and our system more or less set up to defend with little to offer going forward. Joe Murphy once again outstanding, we look so much more settled at the back with him in goal plus Chris Burgess and Taylor Moore in defence. Results elsewhere have fallen quite kindly for us aswell. Looks like the bottom three are more or less doomed, so it might be a battle to avoid 21st place, which is currently held by Port Vale who have games in hand, one of them being at rock-bottom Coventry this tuesday. Giving how this is unfolding I wouldn't say MK Dons and Charlton on 47 points are safe either. Problem for us is, we still have to go to Bolton and play our neighbors in Rochdayul, plus have an away game at Southend to wrap up the season, plus a difficult away trip to Oxford to play. It's going to be tense

Made last night's victory a lot more difficult than we should have!

Went up 2-0 in the first half, absoulute cruising and in the second half we kept on inviting them all the team and really didn't looked comfortable at all. Leon Barnett exposed so often and for some strange reason he reminds me of Efe Sodje for not being any comfy with the ball at all and is clearly limite din more than one way but shows great courage and commitment. However, I believe under Flitcroft we would have blown that, so I take a win as dirty as they come in this situation. Sadly, Charlton and Northampton dropped all three points to our relegation rivals in Shrewsbury and Owdum, so literally no ground won BUT our other rivals and next opponents on Saturday at home Gillingham blew against another relegation rival in Swindon at home, so their confidence must have taken a right hammering.

By the way: Watch out for our young lad Callum Styles! This lad will be going places. So comfortable with the ball and a very intelligent player, doesn't do childish nonsense or stupid dribblings just to show off. Tired a bit in the second half but the lad is only 16, so you'll hear more of him very very soon I think!

As for us, as mentioned, Gillingham at home on Saturday will be the next end game, if you like so we need to carry the momentum and ride the wave of optimism for as long as possible!

Massive win at Charlton for us. Especially taking into account that Shrewsbury & Vale lost with Oldham also failing to win. Gills and Swindon winning is a bit of a bummer, but our win takes us out the relegation zone for now, so I'd take that at the end of the season....

Looked good today again. Were surprsied when we arrived at The Valley when we were greated by the news Paul Caddis had signed for us till the end of the season. Without Vaughan and Mayor again though with Andy Tutte also new to the injury camp. To be honest, although we looked good in spells it has to be said, Charlton didn't deserve to lose this. Hit the woodwork twice and also our keeper Joe Murphy had an absolute fekkin stormer today (thanks Huddersfield) seriously, if he doesn't win some sort of award for his performance then there's something wrong imo. Good to see we didn't just try to run the clock down, too. Had more than good chances to make it 2-0 or more but we were being wasteful upfront, although I can forgive players like George Miller thinks like that becuase he's still just a teenager, and Jacob Mellis, because he is just not a goalscorer, but defo something we need to look at. Tuesday, the next vs Coventry at home. No excuses, we need to win this!

Last point, what a shame how Charlton are being treated and what the club turned into. The Valley looked and sounded like a ghost town being very honest. I feel for them, although they have that despicable twat Karl Robinson as their manager, I really do.

The timing of Coyle's sacking is very, very weird. They've been bottom all season and come off the back of a decent game vs United, so why now? Unless Venky's have someone lined up (possibly not) very confusing as to why they did that now. Good move for Rovers still, Owen Coyle is a twat.

The hell's happened to Villa? 1 point from the last 8 matches, just six points above the bottom 3, and seemingly unable to get out of their spiral. I don't quite feel the gloating that Barnsley, Forest and Brentford did for beating Villa after they signed key players from them in January, but still weird.

Still, we won. For all the pontificating, and performances that haven't been as good as some would like, we're still in a great position. Just need to bring it home.

Think it's the same issue that occured with Wolves few seasons ago. They've got good players, a rich owner and a decent enough manager to be nowhere near a relegation fight, a complete overhaul on paper but there is still a losing mentality going around at the club. Go 1-0 down in a Championship game and the fans are all over you again, just like last season. Players like Bjanarson for example. I rated him at Basel but yesterday he was absolute pants, couldn't hit a donkey's arse with a banjo and looked low on confidence altogether. Villa didn't look bad last night either, until they made an absolute meal out of two corners which literally fekked them over.

What the solution to this might be? I don't know. Should be trying to get in some consistency and keep Bruce for a while instead of pulling the trigger again.

Oh, and hopefully Hogan's injury isn't that bad but there is little hope imo. Looked nasty.

Short take: YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!! Fek me that was quite special!!

Absolute extra special goal from Andy Tutte and thank god the keeper had an actual cluster in stoppage time, allowing Miller to get the winner. Didn't make that easy, but it's the kind of result that can turn your season around

Very pleased with that though, payed some sort of compensation to move him away from Kilmarnock, so there is still interest from our chairman to keep us up at any cost, although I'm still very surprised at the timing of it and wonder where that will leave Chris Brass now

Fek me that was shite. Hope MK Dons fans don't sue us for some sort of human right violation and want their money back. They'd have good arguments for that tbh.

Well, I mean, our players tried, like they really tried and put in a shift but you could see there was like no quality at all in our midfield (think the ball hab more time in the air than on the pitch). We looked pretty dire in the first half and when Vaughan came off we somehow looked even worse. Just pray to god that Vaughan is okay, otherwise we are in for a fekkin laugh.

I need a proper lie down

Fekking lost at fekking Shrewsbury again. Thank god I'm not doing away games anymore I might have topped myself in Shropshire which is basically Wales to me anyway. Tragic stuff all around.

Football is a sport upheld to benefit capitalist elites anyway. Come on you Darts or Water Polo or Squash or something less frustrating!!!
