- The main contributors over past years are now older, have less time and more non-FM related commitments. Hence the material that was once offered is now no longer here or has simply been minimised to a far smaller amount.
- Now that FM has switched over to using Steam, it also divided a section of players who have no longer followed the game and stuck with past Steam-less versions. I know personally that since the switch I really don't have the interest in it anymore as I once did. I played FM11 minimally (compared to past versions), FM12 I didn't bother with and I didn't even know FM13 was released until a few days ago. This means I'm not inclined to read the FM areas or offer anything I know, others will also be in this same boat.
- With FM becoming more in-depth it's lost the casual players. From what I've heard FM13 is meant to have a casual mode or something, that might encourage past players to pick it up again, it might not. Again, this has affected FM content and activity.
I could mention more but I feel the basic idea is there.A lot of the main posters here simply attend for the Off-Topic related matters, the game itself has taken a back seat with age and all that jazz. With there being other FM sites around, there really isn't that incentive (I feel) for members to talk FM here that they can't get elsewhere and in greater supply.
There just isn't the influx of younger members keen on the game staying around to replace the older ones who've moved on.

Again, the side had scored two goals and the teams best attacking players were on the pitch already. While there are some decent options on the bench, none are of the quality already on the pitch. Moses came on and scored, good substitution you could say. Goals are still goals. Torres pressured the keeper (something Sturridge wouldn't have been arsed to do) and made the keeping error. Oscar's goal was again brought on by a quality pass from Mata over to Torres, which the keeper decided come out for and try to intercept (Torres was clean through had the keeper stayed back), and Oscar's finish was quality. He still had a lot to do.
You're also not giving Shakhtar enough credit, they're a good side tricky side and showed that over both legs.
Agree that the defensive side of the team has been sloppy of late. But to say nothing's changed isn't entirely true either. Bertrand played, Ivanovic came back into the side and Terry didn't start. RDM went for a different approach defensively than the first game, where Terry was quite poor himself.
The side hasn't had the stable 4 that was used previously of Terry, Luiz, Bane and A. Cole. There has been some changes. Luiz has also had a bit of a dip in form himself in that period, after having a quite consistent patch. In saying that, he's also scored a couple important goals in the process. So it evens out when you really look into it. That's not to say the defensive aspect can't be improved, it can.

There's nothing wrong with how RDM goes about his substitutions. The side's issue is keeping clean sheets, not in attack. So making attacking subs isn't a must when scoring as the side has been. If the defence were more solid and organised then there wouldn't be an issue.
As for Sturridge, I have no issue with him being benched. Torres might not score as regularly but his team play and combination with the 3 behind him is far more valuable to the side and it's style. Sturridge offers none of that and is far too much of an individualist. While talented, he's not good enough to be leading the attack. Even if he does score more himself than Torres, the team play will suffer in the process.

SOA is fucking addictive.
Definitely one of my favourite shows. Not started newest season yet because I can't just watch a couple and be satisfied!

The balls there to be won by Torres (just as in other instances when the ball is high off the ground), he has every right to try and win it. For me personally, as long as his eyes are on the ball and it's making play for that, then I don't see it as a red. The same applies for any other similar tackle. Now if the player has eyes for nothing but the man and simply follows through with the challenge with trying to pull out, then for me is a red.
If that's the case, Young should have been booked? Slight contact between him and Ivanovic and was exaggerated to gain an advantage.
As I said, there's no consistency whatsoever.

That was my impression of the Torres incident. It does look like he's tried to pull out of extending his leg fully and really going through Cleverley like he could have. It certainly was no worse than Evans effort on Drogba, which got nothing.
It's all done now though. The issue is that it will all pop up again with other decisions because there is simply far too much inconsistency between officials, particularly on this diving/going to ground easy thing.

My bad. Wasn't aware he had been booked, the footage I seen only showed the tackle and nothing of Rooney being booked.

The most annoying thing in regards to being a Chelsea fan at the moment regarding decisions, is that we've also been duped out of 3/4 genuine penalties now as well. Since Hazard was singled out on MOTD a month or so ago, he's won 3 clear pen's himself and not one has been given.
Then you see the Rooney's chop tackle on Mata (I think), which brought on the freekick and goal for Mata not given a yellow. Yet, something like Torres going to ground when a clear foul is had gets booked for diving.
It's all down to consistency really. Clattenberg showed absolutely none and ruined a good game of football it sounds like.

Minimal contact and Young throws himself to the ground. The difference is that this decision went in the way of the attacker and Bane got a straight red.
It happens most weeks.

The contact was still there and Torres went down accordingly. It's no different to what most other players do really, particularly in cases when a defender blocks an attacker off and the attacker runs into said defender and either stopping, or falling to their knees.
In the situation Torres' was in, there was no advantage for him to try and stay on his feet. It's the sort of thing you see every week. For me, those instances aren't dives. Does Torres go to ground easily, sure. But there was was enough contact for him to do so.

Not overly surprised United seemingly got the "rub of the green" for the most part. It's always a little expected when seeing either Webb or Clattenburg given the nob in United fixtures, this does nothing to really dispel such feelings. Of course Hernandez' goal had to be the suspicious winner also, tends to be that way.
I was debating on downloading the match and watching it but I feel as if I do I'll just get infuriated.
I guess we'll wait and see what comes of everything that's unfolded afterwards. I'm not expecting much but it would be refreshing to see something done, as the standard of officiating has really taken a nose dive the last few seasons.

Fergie is embarrassed because he said that all of his players would wear the shirt prior the game, Rio included. Then Rio rocks up and doesn't wear it, hence making Fergie look like a twit for making the aforementioned comment. That's why Fergie is annoyed at Rio, who will no doubt cop some sort of punishment for it.
Lescott hasn't worn the shirt for years after Emre's unpunished racism towards Yobo during his Everton days.

Very heartening to see the side come back like that, having made the first half look like ease. Juan Mata really is a phenomenal player, aided by the combinations between Hazard and Oscar as well.
7 points clear, hopefully United and City drop points.
