Yaya Touré looked knackered in the World Cup even after a 2013/2014 season of nearly 50 games for City. He is now on the wrong side of 30 and given his size and physique I imagine he is not the quickest of City players to recover after a game - which again affects the performances for a player that's so dependent on the level of fitness to be at his very best. Plus he played the whole tournament of the AFCON with Ivory Coast. I think Yaya could come back to his old self after a good summers rest, whether it will be in a City shirt or for another side I'm not sure.

A complete rupture you can't bear any weight on the leg basically.

The Norwegian alpine ski racer Aksel Lund Svindal was back in business about two months after suffering the same injury, but then again football and alpine skiing don't really compare in terms of recovery time, as having a stiff custom made alpine boot around your foot is something very different from the football boot and the amount of strength and flexibility football requires in the ankle area.

5-0 infront of 19.900 in the league opener against Aalesund tonight.

Unfortuantely our captain Tore Reginiussen ruptured his achilles tendon and will most likely be out for 6-9 months. Of course that had to happen to our already thin squad in the 1st game of the season.

I scored one goal in Russia they scored two goals in France and it ended 2-2 on aggregate. I obviously lost on away goals.

Following the destruction of Newcastle in the 1st knockout round I was optimistic of enjoying a good run in Europa League, having avoided the likes of Bayern München, Arsenal, Porto, Dortmund and Zenit for the next round. And it all started so well in the first leg in snowy Moscow.

With 11 shots on target, 2 in the woodwork and 4 clear cut chances we clearly should have buried the tie completely, but travelling back to France with 1-0 on aggregate I was confident of us going through with ease. Boy, was I wrong about that. As FM sometimes is just... FM.

Premier League May Dump Sponsorship
The Premier League is considering abandoning its long-running title sponsorship‎ arrangements when Barclays' 15-year association with English football's top flight ends next year.
