This surely must be a bug or a data issue because it's the same for all the teams that get promoted. I play tested the challenge with the Met Police and I lost close to the entire squad. Ridiculous.

So pleased to have seen the boys lift the trophy. Outstanding night at Wembley.
Ended my stint undefeated. Very proud of the team and how far the club has come since we first started. Long journey it has been.
Ended with a 10 point gap margin win.

Rest of 2021-22 Season
The rest of the season ended up like this. Really interesting season. We almost didn't win the league and had Masry not messed up then we wouldn't have won it. Saying that Obi our Nigerian striker was immense as was Frimpong and Azuka. Emam was a different kettle of fish and I can see him moving on from the club fairly soon. He notched up 23 league goals this season.
Was a big way to celebrate the league and title.
Been back to back for years. Proud to continue the tradition.
6th consecutive league title.
Won the league by 4 points.
So I've stepped down in search of that final job that will help me win the last part of this challenge.

Club World Cup 2021
So we had a pretty special time in Qatar with the Club World Cup. We managed to get to the final against Manchester United and we gave them a game. But before that it was nice to get one over on my old club Boca. Yes we were lucky but we still managed to seal out the win and so it was nice to advance to the final knowing we had beaten a tough opponent and of course a former employer.
Despite losing our man picked up man of the match.
Profited well from reaching the final.

African Champions League Final 2021
So the first leg ended with us taking a comfortable lead coming back home to Cairo. Obi was immense as per usual but then again so was the entire team. Felt that the hardest tie was the semi finals. Tunis were a far better side than ASOC.
Second leg saw us take off where we left off. Just remarkable considering the short amount of time I have been in charge of the club. Having to rotate the squad because of injuries and not the correct players registered was tough but as I said we have managed to overcome that and win the competition.
Nice to see the man I followed after has praised me. Chuffed.
Nice to feel loved after only joining the club.
Some important money gone into the coffers.

League has started well for us. Frimpong and Obi are scoring and that is what matters. Frimpong usually a striker will be used on the wide right to give us more attacking options.
So have a couple of games on some teams and if we take these games then I cannot see why we can't top the league and push on from there.
So an arrogant Tuins side we travelled to, arrogant for the fact that their manager said he gave us no chance. My team talk was done thanks to him. We came away with a draw, very good news us as I was confident that back home we would punish them harshly.
Punish we did. 5 good solid goals that meant we advanced onto the two legged final.

Without noticing I found out quite quickly that my leg here in Egypt could be over fairly quickly. Why you ask? Well I've just landed in the middle of the African Champions League fixtures.
The club in Egypt. Won everything, and have dominated the league in recent years. However not so much in the African Champions League. I aim to change that.
The squad is an interesting one. Have plenty of depth at goalkeeper and at the back but issues seem to be in the middle of the park and upfront, where it seems if frontman Obi gets injured what is behind him is severely lacking. However going through the stats and what is available then I am not to worried about what the Assistant says. However when the next window opens I do intend to look to strengthen further.
I did get a chance to make some transfers, all of the ones from August onwards are mine. I managed to pinch some internationals from rival clubs to help strengthen certain areas but also for the home grown rule. Not many Egyptians want to be playing at home and the ones that do are of a poor quality. Hopefully as I said earlier, we might well be able to strengthen the midfield and upfront.
It's started off really well and we have progressed into the Semi Finals against last years winners ES Tunis. The squad will bully weaker sides, but will be pushed against the tougher opponents.

Formalities completed. Sad to go but it's time to move on. Boca it's been a blast.
Big news coming out of Egypt was that long standing Al-Ahly manager El-Badry had stepped down and it looked like the perfect move to complete Africa quickly and head onto the home straight.
So here we go. Egypt and Cairo here I come.

Copa Libertadores 2021
In important games, I have noticed that some of my teams e.g. Boca like to make life difficult for ourselves. In the semi finals we were coasting but had to take the games to penalty to take us into the final. During the final we were leading comfortably after the first leg but conceded an early goal in the second leg that meant the game would be a high pressured affair. But what this victory meant was that I had now won 4 out of the 6 trophies. I would like to stay around for a bit longer with Boca but in the normal rules I have to look to move on. I think I've left the club in a slightly better state than what I found it in. Been an honour to manage this fine club.
So that means its 4 down and two to go. Looking to head to Africa now. Best get going.

So the league came to a glorious end for us. Goals were flowing and progression was great. The squad has a good balance now and there is good competition and the moaners who don't want to be at the club are being shifted out. Young and hungry and some experience heads to guide them, this Boca squad could well push for further honours in the future. Morello on debut bagged 3. For 17 years of age he is something special.
We were crowned champions of the league with more than three games to go. We also won Copa Argentina against a strong Newell's side. Very impressive for such a young squad.
The only thing that was disappointing was finishing the league on a loss. Not to worry have the Champions League semi finals to look forward too.
Won the league quite comfortably in the end.

March and April 2021
So a little apology about this. Got pretty much deeply involved and forgot to post March results.
March saw us continue to dominate the league and really push for the title. In the cup we scrapped through to the next round thanks to extra time. March was a long month and there was a lot of injuries and tired legs. Thinking April would be a little easier on us. But boy was I wrong. Suffered my worst spell in charge at Boca when the squad which struggling through injuries and fatigue couldn't keep up with the schedule and in the end it all caught up with us. Luckily by the end we were able to pull it together and managed to progress in the Cup as well as the Champions League.
Next month will be as tough as ever. We face Santos in the next round of the Champions League.
The losses has meant other teams have caught up. So we need to win our games in hand to open that gap back up.

My stint is a good un. Qualified for the next stage of the Champions League and kept pressure up at the top of the league.
So we are just behind City I'm sure the lads will do us proud and put us into a position to win the league!

Return of the league season and a clean sweep. Rusty first game but thanks to Vitari we were able to overcome that and seal win. It was a month were players were rotated and given a go and people took their chances. Teams seem to struggle when we attack but we are often susceptible to a counter attack.
We also played our first game in the Champions League and eased to a comfortable win over Tigres.
Positive start to the final stage of the league.

This is how my turn turned out.
Won the Europa League in extra time and made hardwork of it against a poor Liverpool side. Nice to see we managed to hold the league champions to a draw too,
Ended 3rd but could so easily been higher.
Passing the file onto Spanky. Might need to look at staff contracts pal.

January 2021
Undefeated during the friendlies period which was good as it gives us momentum to start the season. As I said previously the squad has gelled and it now seems that some of the youngsters I first didn't feel could make the step up are currently doing so and I hope that they continue to do so. Money is tight so the young guys are going to be given a chance.
So to the transfers. I've only made 3 transfers since I arrived and all three will have a different role in the levels of contribution they will give to the squad. Banega is the experienced head needed in the center of the park, at the age of 32 he will be rotating with the youngsters in the middle of the park to help bring the next generation through. Morello is the poacher Boca are looking for but he's only 17 and needs to be managed to ensure his development is maximised. Sanchez is another experienced player who will add quality to the 'hole' position.
In the transfers out only a few youngsters have gone on loan in hope to get them first team experience ready for them to comeback and push for a spot in the first team. Gomez was sold as he was sort of useless and money is key for Boca at the moment.
As promised I would give a look at the squad here at Boca. Zone is a quality goalkeeper, in the short time I have had the pleasure to manage him he has been outstanding and mops up with many a mistake that the team makes. I see him getting capped by Argentina at some point. Pinto and Fernandez are the main players at the back and with these two the defence is rock solid. These two will hopefully develop the youngsters around them to make them as equally as good as themselves.
The midfield is a bit of a mixed bunch, the good, the bad and the ugly. Over the coming off season I hope to look at improving this area the most however with the formation we play then some of the players won't always get a game. Morales is a class act and his form has drawn attention from the media and the national manager. Benitez could develop but he lacks confidence in himself so it's a task for myself to turn him around and get him to believe in himself. If he does that then he could well be a big player for the club. Upfront there is quality but not a real natural finisher. Morello could well develop into that player but needs guidance and playing time to do so. Something I aim to do.

So the closing part of the league saw us coast home with easy victories over lower league placed opponents. Despite his stats Carboni seems a decent prospect, so I am hoping he will develop more in the future. Goals again came from all over the park and that was again pleasing to see. The squad is content at the moment but I have a feeling we can push them even further if given the chance..
Table showed that we won the first stage comfortably. Which we did. Even when the playing squad was rotated we still didn't take our foot off the pedal. Very pleasing to see. Only half the job done mind. Got to move on and win the second half now.

November 2020
So my first month in charge could not have gotten any better really. The squad has settled into the style of play I wish to play, Similar to that I played in New Zealand, Japan and the US. The squad (which I will get round to showing you all) does possess some quality but very surprising the club only possesses one international in any form and he's not even Argentinian which gives me the impression that either Argentinian internationals are sold fairly quickly or that the club is not producing many any more. Again this something I will look in another post.
So we beat some big sides in the first stage of the league. Argentinian football I think is split into two parts and the team with the overall best points tally wins the league? I think. Lanus and Colon are tough sides and have been challenging for the title in recent years and we did remarkably well to see them off. Contributions to goals have come from around the park but what we do lack is an out and out poacher.
Comfortable win of the league. Time to press on.

So news came into the feed that Boca who seem to have a high turnover of managers have gotten ride of another and so, after being chased it was time to apply.

DC It's Been Classy 2020
So April was a real busy month. We did lose two games in the MLS but in the grand scheme of things it didn't matter. Players were rested and rotated to ensure the assault was made on the NACL. It's sad that the last MLS game I was in charge we lost but can't have everything.
So there we are ... next chapter.

NACL 2020 Update
So ...
We had an extraordinary semi final tie against Mexican giants Monterrey. At home we played in a classic shoot out. Literally every shot on goal, ended in well the goal. Sturridge was man of the hour. In the away tie, we had to pull back twice to ensure we went through. Was really happy that we made the final.
So the final legs ...
Managed to steal a win against a strong Cruz Azul side. We owe a lot to Yasien as his goal ensured we took away a crucial goal lead leading to the final leg of the final.
So how did the other leg pan out?
Job done. Held out for a bore draw.
March 2020
So a very positive start to the new campaign. No new transfers to really talk about, I decided to stick with the same squad and just rely on the draft to bulk up the fringe of the squad. Of course the one loss was that of Stancu but the squad is good enough to deal with his absence.
So we progressed with relative ease to the Semi Finals of the NACL. Our only problem still comes at the back, the defence is relatively young and probably needs an experienced head to help them along.
Undefeated, not to far away from the top.

October and November 2019
So the season ended and it ended us as Champions once again of the MLS.
It was strong performances right up until the final when we were just complacent and had it not been down to Daniel Sturridge's brilliance then we wouldn't have won the game.
It was also Stancu's last game for the club. He rejected our contract offer in favour of a move to Turkey. Not to worry, we will be looking for a replacement. In other news our next opponents in the NACL is Seattle. Bring them on.

Normal service resumes. With a squad that has seen injured players return to boost numbers it was inevitable that the form would turn around. Goals are flying from all over the park and it was pleasing to see that youngsters were also stepping up to the mark.
Taken the conference by storm. Next month will see us complete the league season and then pre-season and onto the NACL knockout rounds.
