I was about £20m in profit from transfers by January 2015 so I decided to spend about £15m in anticipation for a full on charge at the Champions League last 16.

The first task was to replace Emilio Izaguirre who wanted me to double his £15k p/w wage. I agreed a £5m deal for Andrew Robertson, though not as good as Izzy yet by then end of the season should be on par. He was loaned back to Dundee Utd for the rest of the season.

Next what I needed was a proven goal scorer. If my guys couldn't top the charts in Scotland what hope did they have in Europe. This came down to Jordan Rhodes (£10 million) or Alfred Finnbogason (£8million), I went for Rhodes.There wasn't much difference in cost or wages and Rhodes was more the standard I was looking for.

Leigh Griffiths (Villa) and Giorgios Samaras (Sparta Prague) were sold to part fund the deal. Although Griffiths managed 15 in 29 last season he hasn't netted a single league goal in 11 this season. Samaras, well he was just getting on a bit and not performing.

Borges looks unplayable! How do you manage to stick to one save for so long? I think my longest was about 6 or 7 seven season with Celtic in FM13.

I imagine there isn't even any del (retired players) staff left either?

Well things are still going superb, but the undefeated league run sadly came to an end. St Mirren ended the 50 games streak at St Mirren Park. Were still in all domestic competitions and reached the last 32 of the Europa League. Only Napoli and Chelsea have managed to beat us at home thus far. Could Celtic Park become a fortress once again?

Big fan of Hiddink myself, if you can try and grab a copy of Guus Hiddink : Going Dutch, its a great wee book and covers his career up until he became manager of Australia I think.

Great work though, I like that your sort-term roles are almost like the 'interim' posts that Hiddink seems to take up from time to time i.e. Chelsea

Maybe it should haha! I have taken a few detours.

I done similar to what he did at Chelsea with Birmingham. They looked destined to go down and I saved them from relegation.

Finally getting some luck again. Some huge wins, not enough to improve our position too much but secured a 7th place finish from 8th when I took over. I ended up stepping down to try and get the challenge back on course again.

Australia had a narrow loss against Cameroon that let us slip to 61st in the rankings.

After I stepped down from the Queens Park job I was offered interviews in Turkey and Russia. I ended up signing for Rubin Kazan and stepping down from the Australia post as there is only friendlies coming up.

Failed to qualify for the World Cup AFC Final Qualifiers and currently 50th in the world rankings. The plan is to get them into the top 40, I only took the job as Queens Park are an amateur club and I don't get a wage.

No chance of a play-off spot. Mathematically possible but I wouldn't hold my breath. They're an amateur side so it could be tricky to bring in good enough players to push for promotion.

After several months unemployed I now have two jobs. Could my luck be changing?

September was shit. Beginning to get a bit disheartened at my time in Turkey, a bit like Guus himself I guess. Currently 15th in the league, I'm hoping to turn things around and finish in the top 6.

We are missing a striker in my opinion I'm stuck between bringing one of these two in during the January window. Nathan Delfouneso who wants £25k p/w but would be a great addition and add lightening pace to the attack. The other Wellington Silva requests about £10k p/w less and is more gifted technically.

So this is how things kicked off. We had a decent pre-season and started the league fairly average. The plus points are we are in the Europa League groups and managed a draw against Galatasaray. We got a decent draw, we should compete with CSKA for the top spot.

I managed to bring in one more player, Pablo Aimar for £120k. Hopefully he can add something to the team.

I let a lot of players go and raised about £5m for transfers freeing over £150k p/w in wages. When I took over the club was £60k p/w over budget so a clearance was due. So far I've brought in five players to fill the void positions.

So here's a round up of my journey so far. Was on the brink of being sacked from De Graffschaap and took over at Birmingham saving them from relegation at the tail end of the season. Stepped down that summer and took over as FC Utrecht manager. I improved their league position from 14th to 7th and almost guided them into Europe. Now for the next step of my journey and stage 2.

Really frustrating to go out 6-5 on aggregate, we were luck the first leg and very poor in the return. Been a lot of managerial casualties so I might be moving on in the summer.

Safe to say I turned things around at the tail end of the season, 7th place finish and a chance of qualifying for the Europa League. If I can do that I'm one step closer to completing stage 1. We're up against Groningen in the play off semi.
