If there are other processes running on the system, then it may throttle the extraction speed, irrespective of how good a PC it is. Extracting files is apparently very resource-intensive. Ideally, you only have the file extracting to gain the quickest speed.

I've extracted the pack on multiple PCs over many years, including earlier today on another user's PC via TeamViewer, and I can vouch that it does take a while for the extraction process to get going and it may give you mind-blowingly large extraction time estimates from 8-10 hours. After a while, though, it then seems to pick up a fair bit of speed.

If you can't find the time to leave your PC alone to extract the files, perhaps it might be worth letting it extract overnight, making sure there aren't any power settings which send the system to sleep if inactive after a period of time.

I understand.. My last hope is letting it extract overnight.. BTW it asks me to overwrite some files while extracting. What should i do about it?

The very next comment after this very post explains what needs to be done:

Reboot your computer, so you are sure the computer is not running an over load of programs. Then just unzip the file... sometimes with such a big file the computer gets the calculation of extraction time wrong and it speeds up after a while.

Be prepared for it to take a fair while. It may take around an hour or slightly less with all conditions being ideal.

Thanks but I've mentioned above that i've tried doing this with 2 different computers. And one of them is a very high end pc.
Oh and yes i did try restarting and waiting for an hour for it to speed up but no luck. After an hour it was at %1.

Hi guys...having a major problem with extracting the megapack this year. The logos etc have all worked perfectly, but the latest megapack is taking forever to extract (50+ hours) with winrar and 7-Zip.

I've been using megapack 11.00 the last few years so decided to update it. The 11.00 pack takes about an hour to extract, but is around half the size of 13.00. Even so, any ideas as to why the latest full download is taking so long to extract. I've re-downloaded it but it's still doing it.

I've downloaded the pack from torrent but unzipping takes forever.. It says remaining time is 18 hours after letting it unzip for 1 hour.

I've tried this with 2 different computers , same thing happening. Surely somebody else is having this problem?
