Yes, the team is starting to work on updating the individual nation promotions/relegations, as the various seasons complete. The intention will be to roll these into the Data Update as they are completed - naturally, there is a large cluster of leagues that conclude in the coming weeks, so there may be a bit of lead-time between the leagues finishing (in real-life) and all of the updates being completed.

The Data Update provides an all-in-one solution/offering. Unfortunately, there is no way to way to enable only transfers and not new players. Is there a specific reason why you would want to not enable the new players? I'm asking that question not to be combative, but to get a sense of the use-cases that the playerbase have which would mean they want this modular approach.

My view - and I think many of the staff feel the same - is that the purpose of the Data Update is to provide the ‘realest’ database possible which, in this case, includes adding new players who have come through youth setups in the last 12-18 months and them not existing would leave a gap in the data provided by the Data Update.

If it helps, I do not think you need to re-do the submissions you previously submitted.

For extra clarity: the bug in question was resulting in many of those submissions under your name being auto-Rejected - in reality, many of those were ones where you didn't intend to submit anything, anyway (you were working around the limitation).

The Site Admins have now (a) fixed the issue and (b) re-processed your submissions. At a quick glance, I can see ~215 of your submissions in a Pending status. These will get moderated by myself/the team as soon as we our time allows. Those that are approved will get integrated into the Data Update.

My belief is that the submissions you previously made are all in that number. The ones that you never intended to make (but required you to fill in fields to allow it to be processed, due to the bug) have been tidied up.

The main point of this reply is to advise you that I don't think you need to go and re-do all of the effort you made. There may be some individual ones you want to re-submit, but on the whole I think you'll find the intended submissions are still there.

If you give me 24 hours or so, I'll personally get through all of your submissions and I would say, at that point, if anything is missing, please do re-submit.

The staff are working through some technical issues with some of New Youth Players, which is the overall priority. Once those are taken care of, I will take care of this duplicate.

In general, the Data Update is reprocessed on a daily basis. It isn’t guaranteed to happen every single day, because it relies on the staff processing some files - but it really

does happen on a daily basis in reality (maybe 3-5 days a year it doesn’t take place).

In terms of what content makes it into the update - all changes that are approved at the point it is processed should get included. Now, the concept that all community-submitted changes have to be moderated/approved is an important one - this can result in a delay of some days, especially during busy periods of submissions.

I believe there was a technical issue with a few instances of the Data Update, which may be the cause of this. I do not know the exact start date of the issue, but I think there was a point where some/many of the missing players didn't get processed as part of the daily updates for a few days. I believe it was resolved yesterday.

The current/latest version of the update should certainly contain all of the new youth players, again. I would recommend downloading the latest Data Update and trying again. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, I do not think there is any direct way to edit this entry. Essentially, the site contains databases from multiple Football Manager versions, so sometimes it returns results of people that were in previous games' databases but no longer exist in the current database. This is one such example.

As he's a non-player, I do not think there is any direct path for you to create him at this time. As you know, new player submissions are possible but new non-playing staff are not yet set up.

I've replied to your original error report - as mentioned there, can confirm this appears to be site-wide. Have reported, internally, to Site Admin. I am sure it'll get resolved ASAP.

In the interim, I'll close this thread and we can use the original one as a place to provide updates.

Apologies for the slow-ish response. I can confirm that I can replicate this fault and therefore I believe it'll need to be resolved by the Site Admin. I have flagged to him separately.

So you should be able to sumit CA/PA for existing players - it is just further down the page. Everything starts from the club page. In the case of the example you're referring to, that's Djurgardens IF (https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/team/1787).

The general structure of each club page goes as follows:

New Youth Players - listing any newly-created players and their moderation status

Transfers and Contracts - this section shows a list of the people who are registered to the club and it shows a summary of changes made to their transfer status etc.

Edit Player Attributes - this section is where you see a list of all of the players and there is a CA and PA box next to each, allowing you to submit your proposed changes. At the bottom of this section there is a ‘Submit Player Abilities’ button which is how you actually submit.

The start of the section you're looking for looks like this:
 

It is now possible for the community to submit their proposed CA/PA changes directly through the site. Therefore, it would be great if you could do that for those players you’ve mentioned.

To do so, browse to the club the player(s) are registered to through https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update, under the Contribute section. On this page, you’ll see boxes allowing you to fill in and submit CA/PA values. These will then be moderated and, assuming they are reasonable, will be accepted and then immediately get integrated into the Data Update.

I do not think this is the doing of the Data Update…I have just looked at the default 24.3 Database and it has Barcelona playing their home games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

As best I can tell, it is set up to be their temporary home ground in-game, which matches the situation in real-life, as the Nou Camp is undergoing renovations.

Thanks for reporting the duplicate. I have just removed the new player that was submitted (and accepted), which caused this duplication.

On the note of the facepack for the new players - that is something that a lot of work is going into behind the scenes. It is absolutely the plan to build a facepack to support those newly-added players - but the first hurdle to overcome was ensuring the Unique IDs were persistent across multiple saves, otherwise there's just no way to actually have the images mapped to the right players, reliably. We think that particular hurdle has been tackled, so watch this space as far as face images goes. There is a fair amount of work involved, end-to-end.

Are you sure you have downloaded the latest/current version of the Data Update? You would get it via https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update.

Following your report, previously, I personally went in and removed the duplicate through the website. I have just downloaded the current version and done a search and can clearly see only one Christian Kofane.

To answer the question directly - there is no way to choose between the transfers and the newly-added players - as they are all now part of the same update (and, specifically, part of the same file). Separating them to offer it with the modularity you're after is, unfortunately, not possible at this time.

Appreciate that you have been using another file - and perhaps that other file is something you've used for a while and are now loyal to. Does the other file offer you players that the Sortitoutsi Data Update does not? If there are gaps in the Sortitoutsi Data Update in terms of newly-created players, have you considered submitting some missing players so they can be included? Recognising that isn't something everyone can/wants to do, if you're willing to help us understand what makes this other file better/your preferred option, that feedback will be useful regardless.

The goal of the Sortitoutsi Data Update is to provide a comprehensive offering. It's a work in progress but it is hoped that, over time and with community contributions, it can become the most comprehensive offering - meaning there is no need to supplement it with other files to get the fullest database possible.

Could I ask you to elaborate on the comments around ‘random’ and ‘inaccurate’ data, please?

For context - I'm one of the staff here and I am currently undertaking some efforts to update some of the New Player data wherever viable. As an example, I have found ~400 that had strangely-formatted names and no natural foot (e.g. both Left Foot and Right Foot were the ‘weak foot’).

In terms of random data - of course, there's a level of randomisation in terms of their ability; because many of them haven't had CA/PA configured. Similarly, some of the players don't have positions set. I do intend to turn my attention to those without a position, next. But there are a lot. And the general concept here is that this is intended to be a community-contribution update. So if there are specific players you have come across in-game and you believe they have bad data, I would invite you to submit changes to them - they will then be moderated and, ultimately, the data update becomes more accurate.

In terms of inaccurate data - a similar query, but I do not know what the ‘inaccurate’ data would be. There's been validation done to ensure players who are added exist in real life and, wherever possible, things like their name, DOB, Nationality and so on have been verified against reliable, external sources. As above, I would encourage you - and anyone else - who comes across inaccuracies to submit corrections.

I am one of the team that moderates these submissions and I would welcome as many contributions as possible. Otherwise, I'll go through them myself - but it'll take some time!

Personally, I don't think making the new players separated really solves anything. A better solution is to correct the data to be as accurate as possible - at which point, everyone benefits from the most up-to-date database, with the most accurate data, possible.

MasterIgor's files do not do anything to move clubs between divisions. His files create the structure, in many cases extended the playable structure to lower divisions in any given nation.

As an example, his Switzerland file makes the top four levels in Switzerland playable. However, it doesn't move teams between divisions.

The Sortitoutsi Data Update file for Switzerland moves teams between tiers to put clubs in the correct divisions (i.e. to reflect real-life promotions/relegations). In doing this, it should also respect the number of clubs in the divisions that are non-playable by default (i.e. the divisions that MasterIgor's file enables).

Therefore, the two are compatible. I can attest to the compatibility because I personally use both of these - and I use many other of MasterIgor's files, too.

They are not entirely random, as such, but which ID is given to any newly-created player will depend on the overall edited data files that you are loading per game.

All newly-created Person records that are part of edited data files that are enabled will be assigned Unique IDs sequentially, starting from 2002042189. The first Person record in the first file listed alphabetically will get the first unique ID. Then the second Person record in that same file…and so on.

After that, the first Person record in the second file will get the next one. And so on.

Therefore, the overall order of the edited data files you are using will play a part, as well as the contents of each edited data file.

The Sortitoutsi Data Update has been iterated many times since the originally-published list of new players/wonderkids and it now also includes all of the community-submitted players, too. As such, I think it is safe to expect the UIDs listed in that original file not to match. I would, therefore, say that is normal.

The logic with which the Data Update is being built could change in the future as new features are considered/implemented, so I would be hesitant to say that UIDs for players that exist in the file today will always remain the same. However, behind the scenes, the intention is to try and ensure UIDs are consistent because it is recognised that consistent UIDs would enable the playerbase to use graphics for those new players.

I don't believe there is any such function, unfortunately. However, once you have an understanding of (a) what the different parts of the Sortitoutsi Data Update does and (b) what any given one of MasterIgor's country expansions does, it's pretty straightforward to know what will be compatible (or how to workaround it).

In the Sortitoutsi Data Update, there are numerous files. Changes made to the structure of any given country's pyramid (e.g. updated league rules/composition) are in a separate file named: Nation Name (League).fmf and those that amend the structure will show that country name/flag when you are at the screen on which you can choose your Editor Data Files. Please note: there are many other files in the Sortitoutsi Data Update with this naming convention but most of them only include promotions/relegations and so do not create a clash.

As far as I can tell, the following nations have their structure amended in some way in the Sortitoutsi Data Update: England, Japan, Turkey, Wales.

In simple terms, any other custom database (e.g. MasterIgor's files) should be able to be used alongside unless they are providing new structures for any of those four nations. If you wanted to use a custom database for one of those four nations, you would need to choose to either enable the file that's part of the Sortitoutsi Data Update or the other custom database file.

Just to offer a different perspective - I could not think of a scenario where I'd want/need to use the Data Update without the new player inclusions. I've always used the Data Update as my means of getting an ‘up to date world’ and the extension to include new youngsters fits with that.

I understand there might be other custom data updates that offer new players, too - and use of those are clearly the ones where there would be an incompatibility issue, due to duplicates - but I take the fairly simple stance that I, simply, no longer need to use other files. In that way, the Data Update offering has become more valuable since the new players were included.

For me, it's no problem to have it all-in-one because I just use it as that all-in-one and it saves me needing other files to get a fuller, up-to-date database…which I always thought was one of the main points of the Data Update.

This is normal. Whenever you make database changes to a file that also includes rule changes, you need to take the extra step of verifying those rules by testing them after you make your DB changes.

The sequence is:

1. Make DB changes. Save file.

2. With file still open, go to Rules -→ Test Rules -→ All. Let it process.

3. Save file again.

You will then be able to use your file in-game.

Just to comment on these players, specifically - all three of them have been created.

Aziz Issah: one of your submissions is the active one

Romeo Garnier & Adama Coulibaly: other submissions, by other users, were chosen as they were either a bit tidier (e.g. info was submitted better, such as accuracy of name) or they were similar in quality but the other user submitted first.

During the initial batch of moderation, we already had various duplicate submissions so had to pick one and move forward. Nothing personal - but the main thing is those players do exist now.

Are you sure? I can only see one Juma Bah, which is the one found under https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/new-person/2100011768 (i.e. the newly-created player). He has recently been moderated, so once the new players are definitively rolled into the update everything should be correct.

I cannot find Juma Bah in the original DB.

Through this site, it is now possible for the community to submit new players. If you head on over to https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/attributes, that page guides you through the process.

One thing I am not sure is possible, specifically, is the ability to configure a Future Transfer for a newly-submitted player. But as a minimum, you could at least get him to exist in the game through this route.

Once your submission is in, it'll then be moderated by the staff team and, onwardly, become part of the overall Data Update.

Understood - just FYI, the Data Update system only allows to reflect the latest status for a player (i.e. it doesn't record the history of changes to the player). As such, by the time I was moderating the submission, it made sense for me to amend it to reflect the club he had moved to. I left the comment so you understood why I hadn't just approved your submission.

Looking at the specific example (https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/person/91158197), I can't see any evidence that any changes have been made to that player by the Data Update. The original details show him at Okayama and the Data Update lists him, also, at Okayama. There's no history of changes being enabled, either.

If he is showing as playing for Yokohama in your game - is it possible there is another enabled file that is causing this?

The following page suggests he is still playing for Chester-le-Street. Appreciate that at this level of football dual-registration can happen - which cannot be reflected in FM 2024.
