@Cymro Thanks, but I cannot find how to start a new topic there.

Think I've found it

One question though. How do I add youth players that are not in the database already?

Ronald de Boer is now youth trainer at Ajax (source: almost all Dutch news and football media)

Ajax signed 3 new youth players. Source: https://www.ajax.nl/streams/wedstrijden/dit-zijn-de-nieuwe-aanwinsten-van-ajax-o19.htm

@mons Thanks! That worked perfectly. I thought LNC's were only for existing games. After all those years using the Susie files, I still learn new things
Thank you

Another question @mons

When using the Susie real name fix and the live update files in combination with Claassen's updates, I get 3 strange competions.

Africa → Club competitons → RFFU - m. Simferopol - Gruppa 1
Asia → International tournaments → Četvrta HNL - sjever A 2017
North-America → Panama → Četvrta HNL - zapad

As far as I understand, this is due to the fact that Claassen used extinct competitons, to create the missing ones.
I suspect, the one from Panama would be the Copa Panamá (also known as Copa Cable Onda Satelital), the one in Africa must be the Indian Ocean Champions Cup and the one in Asia is the SAFF U-19 Championship.
I tried to give the Susie files names starting with 001, 002, etc and starting with zzz to force them to be loaded first or last, but that did not help. I opened some files in the editor and found the 3 competitions, but they were not edited. So what must I edit or change to get the correct names in my game?

I'm not sure what the question is here

If you add a # in front of an entry in an lnc file, that particular entry is disregarded by the game. The reason I have all the club name changes in my lnc file with a hashtag in front of them is that they are all included in the fmf file already. However, for the benefit of those who only apply this file after having started a new game, the workaround in the first post would allow them to enjoy all the club name changes nonetheless (with the slight drawback of losing the nicknames).

OK. Than I never used them at the same time, apparently, haha.

That explains why I did not get the "Pyramids FC" name in my game, the first time.

I meant a higher budget for Pyramids FC and the staff changes that are not already in the Susie Live Update.

Dutch KNVB Beker should be:

"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 1301411 "TOTO KNVB Beker" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 1301411 "KNVB Beker" ""

About the Dutch Eerste Divisie: the KNVB sometimes names it Eerste Divisie, with a D and sometimes divisie with a d. As all other Dutch competitions in the LNC file start with a capital letter on each word, I would prefer to see "Keuken Kampioen Divisie" and "Eerste Divisie"

Thus:

"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 30 "Keuken Kampioen Divisie" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 30 "Eerste Divisie" ""

Amsterdam Arena (ID 1417) is incorrectly renamed to Johan Cruyff ArenA. It should be Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Cruyff with an Y is the international version of the name, but in all official places, only Cruijff with IJ is correct

Are those names already in the last update Mons, or where do I add them myself?
Is the Nouri file still necessary, if I use the live update file here on Susie?

Is it possible to change the German cities Frankfurt and Frankfurt to Frankfurt am Main and Frankfurt (Oder)? Those (including the brackets) are the official names used in Germany. The way SI is naming them both "only" Frankfurt is confusing.

Frankfurt am Main is the city of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Frankfurt (Oder) is the city of 1. FC Frankfurt (name FFC Viktoria is still in use in the database, but it should be longname: 1. FC Frankfurt (Oder) E.V. e.V. and shortname 1. FC Frankfurt (Oder))

What do you need to know about them?

You're right, it's not possible to look for media sources by nation as that field is not available in media source filtering.

By way of a workaround, I searched for Amsterdam and subsequently managed to narrow down the Dutch media sources list to the range in the attached screenshot.

As an aside, there are no Dutch journalists in the file.

Thanks for letting me know about the journalists, Mons.

So, if all Dutch media are between those numbers (with succesful and failed edits) that makes it a lot easier for me to see if I want to add or change things.
Thanks very much!

I know, I just downloaded the pre-game editor and loaded the Susie merged media file.

Just expanded the search results to show 2000 results and choose 1 good edit and after that 1 failed edit to search for newspapers and such.
Using the peoples tab, I search for people type: journalist, nation: Netherlands, but could not find any.
I might be doing something wrong here.

Just did what you said, but I cannot search media by nation, is that correct? And when searching for Dutch journalists, my editor finds none.

I 've got only 1 file of the name fix, other than that one moment that it made a new file in another folder (the parent Sports Interactive folder.)

About the long/short names for Portugues teams: now I have 2 different names shown in my game: the shortname, as it was in your update (and which I altered) and the long name that I have specified.

This is how it looks in the editor:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/J1yu8AnHS6WwyUdswQVR3rVkB9oS3EbGngyIoHMI.png

The short name as shown in the search box of FM16:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iHqiQOJbOXxydiMQm5dpLYguO5o54pnFBXt0jqKK.png

The longname as shown on the club's homepage in FM16:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/H2R69zEtzPsGZcjLN0xeOcWjdfjgqnqN2cJ2NdBT.png

Notice how I don't have Sporting CP in my editor file, but it is shown in my game when using the search box for example.

Yes, of course.

I just copied and pasted the link from Windows' File Explorer
Main location of the FM2016 editor data

C:\Users\username\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016\editor data

All Susie files are out of any folders and directly put in this same folder. Which contains the config.xml, the Susie real name fix and some other files, like pr0's update.
A screenshot from that folder:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/htngAxp2J7GeSCBnmecvyFrF4qqIWGaVIxhSFdm9.png

Edit 1:
Strange thing is, I also changed two city names (namely Frankfurt -> Frankfurt am Main and Frankfurt/Oder -> Frankfurt (Oder)) and those 2 names are saved in the file. So why the other things are not, is a complete riddle to me.

Edit 2:
Even stranger, I tried it again just a few minutes agao and now it is saved to the file. It created a .bak file too. However, the editor never asks me if I want to overwrite the existing file. So why it did work now, and most times did not, I really don't know.

Edit 3:
Saw that the same 2 files were created in the parent folder too, so deleted them. Now after reloading the file from the editor data folder, all club names are as I want them to be. So perhaps that was the problem. The files were correctly saved but to the wrong location. Still puzzled why it never asks to overwrite with an dbc file.

Edit 4: I tried loading a.fmf file and edit that. Saving afterwards showed me that the editor isn't aksing to overwrite .fmf files eighter. I think that is a flaw, or a bug. All programs ask to to this, but not the FM editor. I also deleted the .bak file, as I guessed it was only temporarily and I have no use for it. Was that correct?

Edit 5: I loaded a new game, all changed names showed up as I wanted them, except the Portuguese shortnames. I only got the longnames as I wanted them. Ideas?

Anyway, a lot of work, for only changing 5 clubnames and 2 city names.

Mons, it is saved, as dbc in the editor data folder.
I choose winter database > import > Susie dbc file > edit > export > same name > save
If I then reload that dbc file and check Porto, Benfica, Sporting and Olympiakos, all names are the same as if I have never edited them. Strange.

What also is strange, is that the editor is not asking me if I want to overwrite the existing file. Like it automaticly declines saving it, without saying something about it.
Any ideas?

I want Schalke's short name to be Schalke 04, but everytime I load the editor and import the club names file, I have to edit it again. After exporting and overwriting this file, it won't show in a new game.
Same thing with Olympiacos Pireaus. In the original winter database it is Olympiakos Pireaus. It is changed to Olympiacos Pireaus in this file. I want to change it back, but the changes are not saved.
If I change Sporting CP to Sporting Clube de Portugal, or Sporting Lissabon, will I lose all nicknames, or just the one from this club?
