This was a welcome addition to my inbox. It reminded me to update a number of packs, and encouraged me to contribute to a few I had never before as I looked at the discussions around them a bit more (such as a backgrounds megapack).

The skin ‘OPZ Elite 2022 Blackout’ will add this in as an option for you, if you are using this background pack.

 

That sounds unusual - graphics packs shouldn't cause crashes. Is this during an existing save or when starting a new one?

My advice first of all would be to cut your kits folder and paste it into your desktop as a backup. Then, open the game with no custom kits in your game folders at all, and reload the skin. Next, add in this pack in the appropriate folders and reload the skin again. The reason for the two steps is that the only thing I can think of would be that the game doesn't like finding the new kits when it expects the SS kits, and the first reload will stop that.

if this doesn't work, can you show the folders where you have placed the kits, and where you have placed the editor data files?

Seems to be working OK for me with a test download. See if you can see Chilean clubs in the pack - if you can, it's V2.

Also credit to everyone who has and continues to contribute - I've taken a large step back for the tail end and I'm impressed with how little difference that has made to it 😂

This looks like an excellent plan! You're definitely right that there will be some growing pains (especially as people adapt to change), but I can see it being the start of a ‘golden generation’ of user-created content when people have the opportunity to not have to start from scratch with every project.

Can you show a screenshot of the folder where you've placed the files, so I can see the file location?

Thank you @wfm18  – you've dished out gratitude to others, and deserve it back. You've done excellent work both in terms of your contributions to the pack as well as your organisation and commitment to getting this to such a good standard.

I'm having a bug where, every time a hover over one of the options on the top line (e.g. Overview, News, Players etc.) a gap appears and widens between the city picture and city name. It continues to expand indefinitely as you move between hovering over each option. Screenshot showing this progress below:

Credit where it's due though, this bug aside it's my favourite skin for the game this year.

Advice to everyone - don't download it unless staff accounts give it the thumbs up. .zip files could be anything, including viruses.

For anyone not using the SSKCC, attached to this comment is an editor data file (non-save game compatible) that will allow you to start a save with the game correctly identifying all of the kits.

If you have downloaded the most recent SSKCC file, my attached file is not required.

Excellent pack!

For the files found in the team city backgrounds folder, would it not be possible to tie them to the city database entries rather than the clubs, and advise skin creators to also tie those graphic elements to the same? As they are tied to clubs rather than the cities themselves, it has the following negative implications:

• Smaller clubs need their own graphics, and many don't get one at all. Tying them to cities reduces the number of work and images needed long-term
• Clubs that move cities during a save end up with incorrect graphics, for example if they need to enter a ground-sharing arrangement when building a new stadium or playing in a higher division with ground regulations.

The positive implications of making this change would also appear:

• New clubs added in future FM games, and clubs added with custom database packs (as many of us love to use) are more likely to benefit from the existing work, as they would automatically take on the graphics of their assigned city.
• It would become easier to ‘complete’ this part of the background pack, as you could work off the list of cities in the database rather than the much larger list of clubs.

I understand that it would reduce the variation between same-city clubs, i.e. all the clubs listed in London, however as the pack already contains so many other elements (including two folders for stadium insides and overheads), I think it would be nice to show the mix of similarity and difference at the same time.

The process of actually overhauling this would admittedly be a big job upfront, but I think long-term the benefit to the project would be worth it, especially if you open out the workload to the community.

And of course, it goes without saying that this is just a personal idea rather than a demand, with the only real ‘technical issue’ being those situations where clubs move to different cities during a save and therefore showing incorrect graphics.

It looks like the .fmf file mentioned above doesn't appear in the download - I've attached it to this comment for anyone who needs it.

I don't think the Regionalliga Sud was ever meant to be included in this pack and it's a title error as I haven't been provided with that league's kits to work on the colour fix, so with this attachment you aren't all missing out on content that's been created already 👌

If only there was a public place where registered kits were listed, right? Life would be so much easier!

Just a heads up to you - I spent ages trying to work out Las Palmas myself, and from everything I can see that third kit you added is actually from last season and doesn't seem to have been registered for use this season, unless you've seen that they've used it in a cup game or something?

Instead of a third kit, I've seen Las Palmas use alternative sets of socks and shorts with each kit as seen here for the home kit and here for the away kit.

I can see that Real Sociedad have picked up a shirt sponsor at some point after the season started. You can see it both home and away. It is the same as that appearing on the kits of Betis this season too which you've already done, so hopefully an easy one.

My understanding is that they are hardcoded to display the kits of the parent/A team, so if you have those kits installed they should show up.

I know that tier 4 is a lot of work with it being so many leagues, but even just tiers 2 and 3 would be excellent, especially with some fallen/sleeping giants hidden in that 3rd tier!
