Newcastle's squad is an abomination. Neither of the Taylor's are good enough, Coloccini is a mid-table standard defender, Williamson would be lucky to get in the Burnley squad and I honestly think Sammy Ameobi is a pile of wank. Huge re-investment needs to be made but I can't see the Toon reaching anywhere near the Europe spots in the forseeable future.

Controversial opinion:

Lukaku to Everton for £28m is a bigger robbery than David Luiz to PSG for £50m

All we can hope for now is for Roman to get assassinated and Chelsea to become liquidated. Fantastic stuff.

Shows how far United have fallen when they're constantly making excuses for poor performances.

It takes balls to actually give United players the punishment they deserve tbh. Thought he had a good game, Rojo's reckless tackle saved Bellerin essentially, when Welbz went down we should've had a free kick but apart from that I thought he was great today.

Perfect away performance. United are absolute wank, they spunked £180m to finish in the Europa League places, Jesus wept.

I don't mind scrolling up to scroll down, I play with an inverted y axis on Xbox \o/

The scroll up to go down makes perfect sense on a laptop, but imo it's completely retarded on the controller. It makes 0 sense to me tbh

Paul Scholes basically invented having opinions though. His opinions were just vastly underrated by the typical uneducated English media.

He plays the opinion the way it should be opinioned and at his peak he was the best opinioner in the world - Xavi

And that infamous story of Scholes hitting a tree with an opinion from a full 40 yards.

Hahahaha that's fantastic

"Some guys, you think they're intelligent until you hear them speak"

http://www.the42.ie/liam-brady-paul-scholes-1518114-Jun2014/

Liam Brady on Paul Scholes' punditry career in the Summer. Chippy is spot on, Scholes is a massive fucking bellend and just as much of a bore as Michael Owen. You'd think someone of Scholes (overrated imo) ability would actually be able to speak sense, but even he knows fuck all

I agree we probably do need a change of manager but calling him a fraud was a little harsh.

I don't remember calling him a fraud. The only people I associate the word fraud with is Lukaku, Baines & Kompany tbh. I love the man but he isn't cut for it anymore.

Wasn't so long ago you was calling a Wenger a fraud.

He needs to leave in order for us to progress. I've no idea how we're 4 off City as we have been diabolical this season.

Find it strange how little criticism Di Maria is getting from the papers. But that's what playing for United gets you I suppose.

What does Per Mertesacker have on Wenger to be a first choice centre-back for Arsenal?

I think it just shows how good Koscielny is with the fact he's had to put up with this useless lump beside him for two years and made him look okay.

Alexis, Özil & Cazorla were all as bad as each other in all honesty. Giroud & Mertesacker were on a whole other level of shite though.

This is more embarrassing than any battering by Chelsea, Liverpool etc as it was Monaco's essentially U21 team

Pretty sure Utd spent 150m this season, not 200m or 180m.

When you consider Liverpool spent 120m and Arsenal about 90m it's hardly ridiculous. Everyone knew there squad needed rebuilding and it would cost a fair bit.

Shaw will be a good signing and as said, potentially there left back for the next 10-15 years. 30m could be a bargain.

Rojo, Blind and Hererra have been decent signings and Di Maria has shown a lot but will just take a bit more time to get used to the league, injuries haven't helped him either. 10 assists and 3 goals in 16 starts is hardly terrible. Fucking awful at corners though.

Falcao being shit and RVP losing all form is what's hurt the most. The reason Van Gaal is getting more time than Moyes is that he inherited a squad that was fucked with no morale and has rebuilt it, I think people really underestimate how difficult it is to get so many new players (Almost all from overseas) to gel, it's going to take time. Moyes inherited a good squad that just won the league and he made no changes to it, you don't go from champions to shit in 3 months. It was his responsibility to get new players if he felt he needed them.

When I saw the team yesterday it was the first time in the last 12-18 months that I thought it actually looked strong. Given time and a consistent starting 11 it will come good.

Any manager that came into the job straight after Fergie left would've had a tough time. Rooney was poor, van Persie was on the decline already, Vidic & Ferdinand left. Van Gaal wouldn't have done any better than Moyes last season.

Yeah but it's not just the lack of academy players coming through either, cause United have been big spenders for as far as I remembered. The fabled pressing based style of football has gone. Sure it wasn't as pretty as what we played for example, but it was above all exciting. The Ronaldo & Rooney goals in the CL & Prem against Arsenal were pure brilliance, and I don't think with the amount of quality up front you possess now that it's possible with someone like Van Gaal in charge.

Even if you got shown a United team when they didn't win the League under Fergie compared to now it looks like two completely different clubs. But I guess everything has to come to an end at some point.
