I suppose. But that's still essentially buying a new squad, I can see why it would seem better than City/Chelsea buying the League (already established club, own funds well sort of) but it seems the same. It seems like the only youngsters being blooded in are Januzaj & Wilson, I don't think Blackett/McNair would've got a look in if you done what you should've last summer.

It's almost as if United are losing their identity, it's pretty much become what Chelsea & City have become symbols of. But I guess that's the fallout of Ferguson leaving.

Sorry I was 20m over but that's still an absurd amount. And considering you're going to have to spend even more to get this squad anywhere near the heights it used to be is a joke to be honest.

I agree with you re: Shaw however, it was a wise investment considering how young he is and the huge potential he has. It's pretty much the equivalent of paying £3m a season for him and it isn't that bad really.

How much was Herrera though? Like 25m? He's a decent player who keeps the play ticking and you definitely needed one of those, but you could've got someone similar for a lot less. I just think it's kind of stupid that some United fans think that Van Gaal is a massive improvement from Moyes. He's had the luxury of not having to play in the Champions League & with players like Rooney, Mata, De Gea and (a good albeit declining) van Persie already at his disposal then adding ~200m in new players then it's kind of ridiculous to be so far away from a title challenge.

If Chelsea or City did this and were in the position of United they'd be getting an unbelievable amount of abuse.

Still don't think United have justified themselves this season, Van Gaal especially. He's spent around £200m, with £60m on one player and a £6m loan player whose on ridiculous wages. And in the end the most effective way of playing is a hoof to Fellaini. Gives Moyes that amount of spending power and he wouldn't be doing a lot worse.

Not berating the club for having racist fans, we're berating them for not attempting to change this for many years. Racism has been constant in Chelsea's matchgoers. Their going fanbase to games is the exact same as when my parents where Arsenal home & away and they said Chelsea were full of scum back then in the 70's/80's and clearly it hasn't changed since. You would've thought that the club would be trying more actively to get rid of these morons especially with the amount of racists incidents around the club in the past few years.

Millwall get the same stick and deservedly so.

It's boring as fuck. The reason I hated United so much was their effectiveness. The counter attacks in games against us previously in the CL & Prem was ridiculous to contain. There was always a spark in the team, now there isn't, whatsoever. It's not entertaining at all, Denilson would literally be the perfect player in your midfield right now, he'd have Xavi stats ffs. Tbf I've always hated slow, boring football. Post Pep Barca was atrocious to watch once the pressing intensity dropped. I'd rather watch Burnley or some other shite team cause at least there's a bit of pace and zip in their play.

Still though, for £170m spent; surely you have to be wondering the worth of the investment. If we invested that much and were only third playing shite football I'd be very, very disappointed. Then again; you did have Moyes last season.

Controlling the games meaning have a midfield of Denilson's then walloping the ball up the pitch? It's probably the worst brand of football I've seen this year in the Prem apart from Villa. United look their most threatening as soon as Fellaini is on the pitch and in his best position behind the striker. Which is absolutely appalling for a club like United.

van Persie's tailed off, van Gaal's using Rooney like some footballing experiment, he's also playing di Maria; whose best attribute is running at defenders; up front at times with his back to goal and Falcao has been absolute wank. Van Gaal isn't really a great manager, if any other manager spent £170m and playing the absolute shitheap football United are playing right now they'd get crucified. Could you imagine if it was Moyes? Christ.

You'll probably do us over, we haven't beat yous at OT since 06/07 and it isn't a quality issue from 2012 onwards, it's a mental block as we shit ourselves whenever we play yous or Chelsea. Though I'm still confident we'll finish above United, the Prem game at OT is crucial and we're starting to hit our stride now.

Still backing them for fourth though because everyone else is literally wank.

Bentaleb & Mason have actually been quite good for us this season. It seems the Arsenal midfield, much like you, underestimated them and got what they deserved.

Neither are good enough really. Should've be a non-issue and an easy game for us in midfield, but Ramsey has been wank all season & Santi was dreadful. It was passion & determination that won the game on the day, not quality. And barring one or two Arsenal players no-one on our side showed it.
